For some reason on any ROM (I'm on RR right now I tried OOS and other versions of RR) my WiFi turns itself off when the screen is off. And ONLY whatsapp doesn't receive or send messages like it supposed to. I tried some other modem/firmwares to fix this but none seemed to work (I'm on 3.2.7 now I tried 4.0.0, 4.0.2, Open beta 11, 10 ,9) I also tried other kernels (I'm on Boeffla now I tried Elemental X and default kernel which came with Resurrection Remix).
No matter what I did (at least as I know) nothing changed so far. In every (if not every most of them) ROM, kernel and modem/firmware same thing happened. WiFi turns off itself when the screen is off and WhatsApp doesn't work like it supposed to..
And yes I clean flashed these ROMs I tried using different IPs and DNS I also tried to reset wireless settings and I also checked the setting to turn WiFi off when screen is off.

I have massive problems using WiFi.
If I activate it, the phone spontanously "crashes", means it reacts extremely slow and is totally unusable till restarted.
It's always when WiFi is on, just the time till it starts differs. I've tried some different ROMs (MIUI with LordMods kernel or stock kernel with vanilla ROM-settings and no apps, CM7.1 stable with stock kernel) and also different WiFis and settings and can say it's independent from an established connection, so it also occurs when there is nothing in sight to connect to.
I can't remember since when I got this problem as I only recently activated WiFi again for usage. Before I never had such problems. I accidentally flashed a zip file as a radio some time ago o) and then flashed the right radio again after I got the battery out for some time. Possible the phone got damaged somehow or is there a possibility that it's a software related issue like a module that doesn't work well with more recent radios in combination with my phone?
I tried radios 12.59.60.26_26.11.04.21_M and 12.62.60.27_26.13.04.19_M, same problem.
Thanks
See if the official software works, try to install a 1.32 RUU.
[I posted this yesterday in the wrong forum, and with fewer than 10 posts I can't post this in the developer forum. Sorry if this is the wrong place, again, but I need help.]
I have rooted my Inc 2 and was using CM 7.2 for a time; everything worked. Recently I installed a new ROM, Evervolv. I first installed the 2012.12.13 release, which didn't work well, then two nightlies: 2013.07.01, then 2013.07.03. Everything has worked on the nightlies except for a weird WiFi error. When I scrub the phone and install the Evervolv zip file, along with gapps, then reboot into Evervolv, WiFi starts right up and works normally. I can download files, sync my accounts, no problems. Then I turn off WiFi, either through the widget or through the slider in system settings, and it shuts off permanently. There is no way to turn WiFi on again. Pressing the widget makes it light up for a few seconds then go dark, and the WiFi "wedge" never appears in the top bar. Alternatively, through system settings, I will slide the WiFi bar to On, the message will appear that WiFi is turning On, but then the slider goes to Off and WiFi does not turn on.
I love this ROM and don't want to get rid of it. Can anyone suggest what the problem is? Thank you!

Someone on the developer forum experienced the same thing and just posted a solution: an alternate kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2044824&page=93
Wifi now works as it should.
Hello. I can't unlock my phone smooth on android 5.x and 6.x (after pressing power button i have to wait 10s+ until screen will wake up), because it doesn't go into deep sleep mode and just working @lowest set frequency . I've tried few roms (e.g. resurrection, nitrogen, aosp, cm...) few kernels (e.g. nitrogenex), fev cpu governors and everytime i had the same problem, even on clean rom, after wiping and configuring only google account without restoring apps, without location, wifi, data etc. I gave up with it some time ago, but now i tried again, new release of resurrection and decided to ask you for help. On stock 4.4.2 it's fine, unlocking instantly, and going into deep sleep normal, but i wanted to get newer android What do you think, is NFC may causing this problem? Because probably i've got broken chip or something, because i can't even turn on nfc, doesn't matter what rom, stock or custom.
Thank for answer
I've had my OnePlus 3 for about a week and a half now, at first (on stock OS) I had no problems. Then I rooted and installed a custom ROM, IIRC it was ParanoidAndroid, all was well except my display kept freezing randomly, but I could 'fix' it by going to standby then unlocking again. It happens in all apps, but not when watching a video. It often freezes when using apps like Reddit or when I'm texting someone, and it's almost guaranteed when I watch a long GIF.
I then tried several other ROMs to see if it was just PA, but when I installed CM14 the same thing happened. I then tried CM13, where the bug had changed a little, the screen wouldn't respond to the power button, and it would stay on for 5-10 seconds, frozen the whole time. I then read somewhere that it could be GApps, so I downloaded a mini and stock .zip and tried them both. Still getting the freeze. Cleared dalvik/cache, still freezing.
I've just no idea why it's happening, has anybody dealt with something similar or has any clue why? Cheers.
Anyone?

does this happen on cm based roms, or on aosp and OOS ones too?

It's happened on PA and AOSCP ROMs, but I haven't tried flashing an OOS ROM yet so I'll try that later.
Flashed OP3Lite, based on OOS, and it works fine. No idea why no other ROM works though, seeing as nobody else has this problem.
Most custom roms I've tried the phone app crashes when you open it and on Lineage (and some other roms) I get unusable slow wifi. I also get an issue where the audio comes out of the speakers until unplug the headphones and plug them back in. Anyone else have these issues? Any fix?
Phone app only crashed in PA that too on roaming, local/non-roaming/home network works fine.
I have tried PA, Carbon, Omni (stayed on Omni) and Phone app works fine for local and roaming.
Stupid question but have you tried some other Phone app? You face the same problem?
Never had an issue with slow WiFi but PA had a weird issue of unable to connect to saved network if stayed on data/LTE for too long. So if I was on LTE for 6-8 hours and then turn on WiFi it will show connected to saved WiFi network but won't actually be connected had to restart to fix it.
No Audio issues apart from the general(what stock had) about volume steps not so well calibrated well but it worked seamlessly otherwise.

So these issues aren't normal? Did you ever have stock 7.x installed? I went from 6.x to custom roms. (If yes could you point me to the 7.x firmware files.)

Yes I was on 6.x stock for long time, then upgraded to the 7.x and was on stock for about 2months I think. Never had any issue on stock really. Stock was quite stable for me.
