I have tried to use Android pay at several locations with no luck at all. Works fine at these locations with my other phones. NFC has been tested and working, just not with Android pay. Called customer service, but they said I should email, so that's what I did.
The phone vibrates as though it is working, but I then get a screen telling me to unlock to use Android pay. Even after using the fingerprint scanner again, it does not work. Android pay was a big reason why I chose this phone, hopefully there will be a fix.

Looks the issue was with the fingerprint scanner. Android pay only works with a pin on this phone. Kinda lame.
Update: It does not work with a pin either. Had multiple failed attempts trying to unlock with a pin.

yesterday Google had a Android Pay update I have the same phone using Chase Bank cards it works on my blade V8 only after entering the phone unlock pin code then you have to place the phone to the pay terminal again or you can press the power button and unlock your phone pin code before taping the pay terminal fingerprint reader don't work on Android Pay now I already have call ZTE to fix this problem:crying::laugh:
I tried again last night and could not get it to work no matter what I did. Finally took out my card after 5 failed attempts.

I've tried in lots of locations. Locations where I have successfully used Android pay with other phones. The issue is definitely with this phone. I've had lots of phones and have never had an issue with Android pay with any of them.

:laughK Android operating system can be a monster sometimes strange your phone is not working properly well you can try this before trying to return your phone boot phone into recovery mode holding the volume up + power button and do a factory reset and set up again and see if that works maybe the factory firmware on your phone got corrupted:laugh:

Thanks for the suggestion, but I had to reset the phone already to fix the DND issue, and android pay didn't work before or after the reset. I am going to try with the Capital One app and see if the issue is with the phone or Android Pay.
Am I the only one having this issue? Does everyone have success with Andrid Pay?
Thanks!
So yesterday I used my phone to pay at 2 terminals with the Capital One app set as my default app and I had success both times. Unlocked with my fingerprint and the payment went through instantly. It appears the issues are with Android Pay and not the phone. I am going to change the default pay app to Android Pay today and see if I have any luck, if not I will stick with the Capital One app.
Mine works
Sounds like the app compatibility was the problem. I have an LG G Stylo that refuses to work in a food store no matter what. My ZTE Blade V8 Pro worked with no problem EVERYWHERE that I went that Accepted Android Pay

Remember that Google Wallet exploit from a few days ago? The one that would allow*'brute-force' PIN attacks, but only on*rooted*Android devices? Well, another PIN-related security hole was discovered soon after, putting even non-rooted Androids at risk. As*Android Central points out, should your phone make its way into the wrong hands, your Google Wallet PIN number could be reassigned, allowing access to the prepaid account attached to the phone itself --*yikes. As such, the folks at Mountain View have taken action, shuttering provisions to prepaid cards until it finds a permanent fix for the problem. Despite the troubles, Google is sticking by its original tune, stating that Google Wallet offers multiples levels of protection (when used on*official*builds of Android) that go beyond traditional plastic cards, including your phone's lock screen. There's no estimate on when things will be back to normal, but you'll find Google's assessments and assurances about this situation at the source link below.

Sigh, and if you lose your wallet what happens?
Anyone using their phone to make payments SURELY has a pin or pattern lock to protect their phones data... Right?
Would this be why I couldnt' use my "Wallet" tonight? Said it couldn't connect to the bank to get my account number. (the guy at McDonald's sure was looking at me funning trying to pay with my phone LOL)

it appears the the bank in charge of the prepaid cards has pulled its authorizations, just tried to set my wife's Wallet up on her phone and got the message:
"Prepaid is unavailable at this time. Please try again soon."
swiping my card is much more faster than turn on, unlock, tap, enter pin, tap, and then hit sent.

Yeah, when I sign in to my wallet account it says "Cannot contact bank" under "user id"
*sigh*
of course there are attacks for this. they should make pinning your phone mandatory for wallet. just like when you encrypt your device, it forces you to use either pin, password, or pattern, no slide or face. just copy that...

Absolutely. If I am forced to use a pattern/pin/password lockscreen in order to store my VPN credentials, Wallet should require the same - in addition to any security within the app.

Google's lockscreen PIN setup sucks. There should be an option to automatically unlock the phone once the correct PIN has been entered, without having to press OK.

That is an option on most community ROMs... but then you would be rooted and breaking the First Rule of Wallet -whoops!
I use the pattern anyway. Works just like a PIN (think of the grid as a number pad) and sliding a finger across the screen is almost as quick as slide-to-unlock.
Come on, Google, let me use Wallet again!
Gotta love having money online that you can't use, access, or transfer. I just transferred a nice chunk of my paycheck onto google wallet right before this happened.

Remove the root, relock bootloader. When you feel the need to update, do an adb backup, unlock and flash, restore backup, lock.

As I understand it, the only way to get your phone to unlock the Samsung Ezon is to be using Google Wallet and use the Loyalty Cards feature. I don't think the Note has Google Wallet so you might be out of luck. I have been trying to do the same thing for months now with a One X, One, S4 and Nexus to no avail.
from a google search I found this quote
your mobile phone to be your access key. This would then allow you to control when your card is active and when it is not. If you have an Android device that supports Google Wallet, you’re all set. The trick is to have Google Wallet installed with at least one “Loyalty Card” setup in the wallet, then make sure the card is enabled. Doing this enables NFC card emulation on your device which will present a UID to the EZon when it is within range. This type of card emulation is different from your payment information (so you don’t have to worry about the lock charging your bank account each time you unlock it). You can then enroll your phone just like a physical access card to the EZon and use your phone to unlock the device. The added benefit is that when your phone’s screen is turned off, card emulation is off as well which makes things a lot harder to tap and then clone.

Ok, after having the worst luck of the year I drop my HTC One M8 down the toilet post pee..
Bag of rice in airing cupboard for a week..... Screen works but with internal marks.
It takes a good 5 mins to boot and when it does the digitiser is lifeless... Just nothing!
I've got insurance but my problem is I've got electrical testing software on the phone with 2 days worth of testing results on it.
I know the insurance will reset my phone once repaired as I've done it before...
When I plug into computer I can't back up because my screen lock... Is there a remote way of unlocking so I can access and back up my data.
I'm due an inspection in March and need the results.. On top of that I've broken my left hand and am off work so can't just lose 2 days to retest... Happy 2015 :crying:
Nobody got any idea if this is possible or not?

I'm not guaranteeing this will work, because in these cases you never know.
This data recovery tool also will work with PC, SD cards, ext hard drives, etc.
Thanks man, I'll try that out later. Got a feeling I'll need to get past screen lock first though.
You can control your phone remotely with Androidlost. Just login with your Google account then remotely install the app
.https://www.androidlost.com/
You can also use droid explorer to access your files. If you use the screen casting option you can also control the phone with a mouse.
EDIT:looks like android lost no longer auto registers the downloaded app any more. So that option is out of the window.

why dose android pay pop up everytime i use android beam is there a way to disable it some times I can't even beam what I want because the stupid thing just keeps popping up
My phone's rooted as well so I can't use it
I know that you cannot use Android Pay if you have a rooted device. The application does not allow it and you will have to unroot and perform a Data Factory Reset in order to use Android Pay. Your phone does daily scans to detect if it is rooted and Android Pay picks up on this.

Reviving an old thread....
I've got this problem, and this thread is the best Google result I've found. I don't have android pay installed, but every time I try to pay using a bank app, I get a pop up telling me to install android pay, so can't use the app.
The most frustrating part is I solved this once before, but I had to do a factory reset and I can't remember how I fixed it. ?
Any suggestions?
TIA
Edit it's a ZTE phone, but the same problem described here.

should be around the same location for you but under settings->wireless&network->Tap & pay, if you set use default as "except when another payment app is open
it might help fix the issue.
other note is, just install suhide and call it a day

That was it. Unfortunately I didn't get my email notification that you had replied, so finally solved it on my own, and just came back here to reply in case it happened to me a 3rd time, google would give me answer.
But thanks. When I found it I felt so stupid.
And it turns out I have 3 different apps that all are contactless-ready. Who knew?
Edit: It's actually Settings->Device->Tap and pay, but your instructions would have led me to it.
Edit 2: Ironically, the phone has just - I think - died of the problem that drove me to do the previous factory reset
Basically I bought a V20 a little while ago which turned out to be a Chinese variant and I stupidly delayed on getting an unlock code.
It now seems that I have literally no way in which to switch/change the ROM to the global variant or even a custom one. Basically I am stuck with a phone that wont even allow me to use google assistant and is in a lot of ways pretty useless.
Suffice to say I am pretty pissed off but also just disappointed. Its a great phone. Amazing battery life, one of the best cameras I have even used on a phone, lightning fast etc. But it cant do half the things I want it to.
Does anyone have any advice or ways in which I might be able switch the ROM or unlock the bootloader. I am getting kind of desperate and am almost at the point of giving away the phone and buying a Xiaomi/another brand of Android.
I also have an honor view 20 Chinese version and it does everything that a American phone can do including use Google Assistant, is there something that you would like me to tell you how to make work on your phone?

It's not your fault - from what I understand, Huawei stopped issuing bootloader codes months before the V20 was even released, so there wasn't anything you could have done.
As for unlocking, in the past I've used DC Unlocker before but the caveat is that it charges you money for every bootloader code. Also, I've never been able to successfully flash a different region's ROM without soft-bricking, so YMMV.

Thanks for the reply, basically at the moment when i open google assistant, every time it tells me to go and set google as the default assistant app. I do that and set it. It then, kinda works (ie it goes back to assistant and it will listen to me while the app is open). As soon as I close assistant or restart my phone and I open the google assistant app again it tells me to do the same thing ( it loses the default setting and I am back at square one, it will never stick.)
Also if i go into the google settings and go to "Voice" and then "Voice match" it is simply grayed out. Which means I cannot train it to recognize my voice/ or say ok google to open the voice assistant.
Also when I hold down the middle navigation button it comes up with HiVoice app that is pre installed on the device.
This link seems to be what I have been having issues with. I need to remove hivoice and actually get hey google to work

Thanks for the reply. This seems a little crazy, seems like one of the only phones that wont let you unlock the bootloader and install a different ROM. :S
