Any one tried to use his/her DZ09 smart watch with the 10?
If yes can you control the music of the phone? even if it's the HTC Music app (found in Leedroid rom for example) ?
T-Mobile HTC 10
Rooted
S-ON
Viper 3.5
(Waiting for Xposed to work for newer versions/I know relax Heh)
Here is what I am certain of:
It will allow me to control anything playing in MX Player and VLC with regard to stop/play/pause/skip track.
It will provide the same options with Pandora, as well as Spotify.
It will also allow me to do the same in HTC Music /Stock app.
It will not allow me to see files on the watch that are located on the phone (but it may be possible/I doubt it).
Hope this helps!

Hi there,
I'm new to these forums and am really interesting in the HTC Desire. Being a user of Sony Walkman phones for the last 4 years music playback is a huge part of my phone usage.
I'm wondering as a device without an equaliser how does this rate compared to other phones for music playback? Is it possible to download third party music playback software?
Otherwise this phone looks perfect, possibly too good to be true at £15 a month on t-mobile!
Hi, check the GSMarena review - sound quality is top notch! (so why would you want to ruin good sound fidelity with an EQ?).
Problems with non-unicode tagging leads to things being seen as "Unknown Genre" by the music player, which is a significant bummer for some (like me).
Theres plenty of third party software, some with EQs.
same boat here.. i have been a Sony walkman user for the last 10 years and sound quality was/is top of my agenda..
the Desire is pretty good i'd have to say.. ok doesnt sound as good as my Sony X series walkman but its unlikely to as thats a dedicated audio/video device.. the nice thing about android is that there's a choice of apps you can use for music playback.. the stock one is fine but a bit boring.. i downloaded 'cubed' last night and its got a pretty neat interface..
i would like an equaliser to be able to add treble/bass etc.. and i've seen it in some players.. but the interfaces are a bit iffy at the moment.. hopefully in time someone will create an all singing all dancing music player..
oh and just keep an eye on the the low volume threads here.. some people have gotten phones that the volume is very low on but mine (unlocked unbranded from carphone warehouse) is plenty loud..
Cheers,
Mick

Cheers for the feedback I'm glad the audio is pretty decent! The idea of using a standard headphone jack is a nice change to the SE phones.
Another question is can you change song without having to whap it out? It may sound strange but when I'm walking to say University, I can currently just hit the rocker switch on the side of the phone to change track - is that the case with the Desire?
Or do I have to bring it out, unlock it, and then change track, relock it, then tidy it away? Hope not!

If you use the bundled HTC headphones, then no. They come with media controls on the wire.
But if you use your own headphones, then yes. You'll have to take the device out, press the standby button to wake the device and skip to the track you want. You don't have to unlock and jump into the music application. There are music controls at the lock screen for back, play/pause, and forward.
Ah of course I forgot about those headphones. Thanks!
Now I just have to wait until January

Haha, January?! Why the wait? Surely by that time, there would be something else available that's more desirable...
You can control tracks/play/pause from the lockscreen.
I have a question to users of the Desire: when you put videos on the device and upload them to the memory card, can you arrange them into a playlist on the device itself to be able to play a series of music videos, without having to select each one, and also to be able to skip tracks, fast forward and shuffle???
Can the built-in music player play a video playlist?
If not, can the video player play a playlist with videos separately from music (and even just play the audio file if the screen is shut off)?
If not still, is there any application - video player - on Android Market that supports video playlists and shuffle, skip and fast forward?
I would not dream of being able to change the playback speed tho, just to be able to play vids right. I'd appreciate any your insights
Meridian is a great music/video player!

the speaker isnt so good, though
I'm finding the music via earphones to be a little low. Are there any players with EQ so I could boost it up a bit?
I know people on UK T-Mobile ROM's had an issue with low music volume but I don't think that's the same issue with mine as i'm using the generic ROM.
Hi there,
I´m not sure if this is the right sub-forum for this since this is my first post on this board.
Ok, so here is my problem:
I - proudly - own a HTC Desire and used to listen to the HTC music-player while using google maps navigation. On Android 2.1 it worked like a charm.
But then I updated to FroYo and since then it won´t run simultanously anymore.
What happens is the following:
I launch the music player
I launch the navigation app
When the first voice-output starts it mutes (or quits) the music player and won´t resume/reopen it automatically again
When I use a different music player it all work, again.
Also, when I use another navigation application (e.g. Navigon) the player keeps on working (but doesn´t mute...but I guess this is a Navigon problem).
A week ago I decided to root my Desire. For that I downgraded it to 2.1, again and used the ROM from ieftm. Unfortunately, I still do have this problem.
You may now ask "Why not use one of the other music players?".
The answer is: I "need" three points to be fullfiled by the music player:
Look nice (or at least not that crappy; for example...I don´t like the Astro player)
A working lockscreen-widget (this would eliminate the ³-player and DoubleTwist)
It should be possible to create a playlist-shortcut on the homescreen to be opened directly by this player
And...from all the players I tried the HTC player is the only one that has all this.
Anyway, I hope you guys can help me with my problem and answer some of these questions:
Has anybody an idea on how I could get maps/navigation and the music player working together again?
Anybody knows a music player that fullfilles all the points from above?
Anybody knows how I can set another music player to be opened with the homescreen-playlist-shortcuts?
Thanks in advance.
I'm having some issues with the stock android music player (+ music mod v1.6), the htc music player and the wired headset. I'm pretty sure I'm not about to describe a very specific set of conditions so hopefullly someone will have a workaround. I have looked around and not found an answer.
I'm running LauncherPro which means from the off, I can't use HTC widgets. I installed MusicMod v1.6 to improve the stock Android music widget. Also, I'm not rooted so that limits the options somewhat.
The problem is this, when I use the headset controls, it plays two instances of a music player - the Android stock and the HTC music player. Is there any way to prevent the HTC music player from being invoked when I use the headset controls?
i have been really torn of late as to wether or not to keep my desire over my samsung omnia 7. The killer feature on the omnia is the zune music player and the ability to have an acount and download whatever albums i like etc.
Is there such an app or service that is similar to zune that will give me the same functions. I.e to be able to download whatever music and albums i want to the phone for a set monthly payment.
I know its possible to link my phone to i-tunes etc but then i would have to pay for every album i buy.
suggestions please.
Ps i have downloaded poweramp as my music player and am really happy with that. Just need the means to download my songs to the phone now.
I have also tried to use my zune account with all my music on it and transfer the songs to my desire but due to drm it dosent work. Anyone have a work around for this? If so this could solve the problem as i would stick with my zune account.
thanks
Power Amp. BY FAR!

yeah i have that and agree its a great music player
i need however suggestions as to a good music service that allows me to download albums etc to my phone and whereby i pay like a monty subscription.
Just skip the monthly fee and use tunee music or music junk.
RootedHTCDesireZ
I use spotify. It's great!!
by far, power amp is the best mainly coz it has great equalizer setup, but if sync matters more, then double twist is a good option two.
me, i use power amd in tandem with the double twist desktop software. no air sync, but still works great.

mort player, hands down. not only does it have a good user interface but is heavily customizable and doesn't rely on android to create a file list. for me it was being able to do an A - Z folder list to sort my music bypassing sorting like "genre" and "year".
Best Combo for free music: Transdroid linked to uTorrent. Download the music to a specific media folder on your computer from your phone. Then have Subsonic set up on your PC as well as your phone as a music server. That's what works for me.
http://www.appbrain.com/app/*tunewiki-social-media-player*/com.tunewiki.lyricplayer.android
use tune wiki.
as for your songs on zune just find the path where its downloaded. btw if you want to access your zune libray via my computer, use "Show hidden folders" option.
If you already have a great music collection subsonic is hands down a must have on any android device. I can get any of my 63 gigs of music anywhere in the world. You can either stream it or download songs/albums to your phone. As far as music player I just use stock cm6 (music mod) with dsp settings handling the equalizer. Gets the jib done for me. Doubletwist now has wifi sync as well as winamp. Just play with a bunch of them and decide which works for you

Poweramp is definitely NOT the best.
PlayerPro is much much much better

In my opinion, Winamp is teh best. But @ best this is subjective.
Give Winamp, Poweramp, Mort, 3^2 (Cubed) player a try.
These are the "big" music players that I know of.
gingerbread apparently has a pretty sweet music function that allows you to sync with your home pc's music library. Sounds pretty sweet but there's a ton of free music apps out there on the market (most likely legal issues involved) but I just google an mp3 when I want one.
Anyone remember imusic tao before it disappeared? That thing was killer. Sadly I paid for it and it was removed about a month later.
If what your looking for is a subscription music service that you can download to the phone is would try rhapsody. I think it's like 9.99 a month and you can dl any track they have or stream as well. I've had the service for years and I love it.

Miui music player came out in an apk.. just read it on somesite.. its pretty good. I use that usually (seeing as in running miui rom) but fc lately made me go back to winamp.

Didn't it just get renamed to "GTunes Music"? That's the app I use currently and it looks exactly like imusic used to.

I use winamp as well. I have an iTouch for my music though, I just keep what I use for ringtones on my phone. Happy hunting.
Of the market.. its between Winamp or power amp.. I like power amp better because of the equalizer.. but now that I'm running sense on my g2.. I like the stock music player.. so I uninstalled the both I mentioned and I'm using the HTC desire z stock music player really nice...

Hi all,
Apologies if this is the wrong place.
Has anyone created an apk for the HTC music app that can work with other android 10 devices?
I upgraded my m8 to an honor magic2 just over a year ago and continued to use HTC apps such as the music and gallery as I think they are just simply better than the stock on my honor. However, after a recent update to Android 10 on my magic2, every time I go to play a song from the HTC music app I get "unable to play this type of audio file".
My Mp3s work with the stock player and Google player but no longer works with the HTC music player. I have cleared cache/data, uninstalled and reinstalled apks but to no success.
Thanks
Mike

HTC Music has been discontinued as of the Android Oreo update.(same goes for Gallery)
It requires modifications, just to make it work on an HTC device running Oreo, and is still buggy at that.
I'd suggest finding and using an alternative and moving on.
If you insist on still trying to use it anyway, you could try the modified one from LeeDroids HTC 10 Oreo rom, though as I said, it's still gonna be buggy, as it's an outdated application.

That's a shame as it really is a decent player. Easy to use, good UI and layout and the visualizer with the added lyrics was a nice touch always helped settle my 1 year old.
I was using the HTC music 8.10.863696 apk from apkmirror which worked fine for me, wasn't buggy at all.
I will take a look at Leedroids as you mentioned thank you.
My HTC gallery 9.51.755029 still works fine with Android 10.
