[HELP] No signal (Possibly I've messed up my modem files) - Sony Xperia ZL

I believe I've messed up my modem files while flashing a generic firmware (previously I was on a carrier version of stock rom).
I've tried a bunch of thing to make sim card work again but without success. (The device isn't recognizing sim card. Sim works fine on other phones)
So I reached the conclusion that my modem files are in a bad state.
I didin't finded modem files for this device (Xperia ZQ - C6503 Brazillian variant of the Xperia ZL)
So I wonder if someome can send me this files.
Or maybe send a twrp backup that maybe can solve my problem.
Sorry for my bad english and thank you

I'm having the same problems, has anyone managed any solution to this?

No Connection To Network After Update

Hi Frineds,
Sorry for my poor English.. I have a very strange problem after updating new firmaware on my Arc. When i flash new firmaware, my phone doesn't connect to network. I get an error that "sim card preventing to connect with network". I have tried everything but always get this error with new firmaware. Therefore i am still on .145. I have unlocked bootloader, so i use FlashTool. I have tried Global Generic & Nordic versions of new firmaware.
Am i the only one having this problem? Can someone think of any possible reason for that? Any idea?
+1 I am Spanish and I have a Vodafone mobile
Does anyone know any possible reason? Any suggestion, please?
I updated my bro's Arc with FlashTool & he has not any problem with network.. I used my sim card in his Arc & it worked like a charm. What's wrong with my Arc?

Are you preserving your data on flashing? If so that might be the reason.

No, data wiped But Thanks Harfot you tried to help me out
I was also having trouble with flashing as follows,
After flashing (not wiping user data) generic 4.0.A.2.368 followed by DooMKernel v02 the hole lot was working - not very well but working. Problem was I was not able to install neither BusyBox nor APP2SD.
This was followed by 2 more tries flashing but it never worked but I was shure it could work.
So I flashed the original 3.0.A.2.181, used GingerBreak to root and installed BusyBox. It worked.
Then I again flashed generic 4.0.A.2.368 followed by actual DooMKernel. It worked and BusyBox was still working. Then I installed APP2SD and on reboot that part worked also. At last I restored my user apps with Titanium and the were all moved to the new ext3 partion on the SD card.
Later I have flashed the latest two DooMKernels without any problems.
It might be worth for you to try reflashing.
Reflashing the firmware should solve your problem.
Thanks Harfot & Xtacy! i have actually reflashed my phone multiple times.
1) First Global Generic with FlashTool..
2) Tried Again Global Generic with Flashtool (Without Sim Card in Mobile)
3) Tried WotanServer & flashed Nordic version..
4) Re-locked bootloader & flashed again Global Generic
5) Flashed Nordic Telia version
6) Re-locked bootloader again & changed customization number to Telia Sweden & flashed through SEUS
7) Falshed UK Generic
And result is the same: No network connection
Do you have the possibility to try with another SIM card?
I relocked bootloader today & flashed phone through SEUS first. When i started phone, i got network connection but after just 5 minutes disconnected again & nothing helped. I repaired phone with PC Companion but result is the same..
When i say network connection, i mean GSM Connection.. I can't get GSM connection & therefore can't call someone or send sms..
@Harfot: First i used my SIM in my bro's Arc which is on newest firmaware, I got GSM connection on his Arc with my Sim card.. (Nothing wrong with my sim?)
Then i used his sim card (it was from another operator) in my flashed Arc (on .368) & didn't get any problem, got GSM connection :-/ Now i am confused. My sim card & my phone don't like each other or what?

Well, now I am puzzled too.
Try cleaning contacts in phone and suface of sim (no liquid). Try pressing sim card firmly when booting phone.
The solution for me was to change the SIM
@Harfot: Thanks, I'll try again tonight & will follow your suggestion
@neoduende: Thanks, I have actually ordered my service provider to send a new sim card

Really don't know exactly what it does, but generally you don't include this file when you bundle a rom with flashtool, so no harm.

how do i unlock it? That's the whole point of me posting about this.
After i unlock my bootloader, i face this issue. but flashing finished successfully. Sometime it may be a DRM key related item.
Dont flash that file. its simlock data and if you flash it on a phone with different imei then you will kill the phone without any way other than sony service center to fix it.
Don't worry about that, i always get that warning and there was no problem.

I've read this 'simlock.ta' thread with some interest because I have a similar issue myself.. Might you have any suggestions?
In short, my Xperia (Ray) refuses to read my SIM card. In fact, it doesn't even ask me for my PIN number, it just boots as normal but I have no connection to any network. I've tried using the SIM card in another phone and it works fine, therefore the problem is with the phone itself.
I'd recently had my phone network & bootloader unlocked by wotanserver using the test point method - because of this I thought the DRM keys would be fine (e.g. TrackId & Timescape still worked). However, when I was updating from GB .42 to .62 OTA (to flash a GB ROM) my phone bricked! So, I ended up using s1tool to restore the locked bootloader. Then I used flashtool to flash a stock ICS ftf file. It seemed to work (the phone rebooted) but it was then I noticed that the SIM card wasn't being recognised. Also, in the Flashtool log I noticed that a blue line was there saying 'this file is ignored simlock.ta'.
Hard resets & updating with Sony Update Service isn't working and I'm really confused at this stage.
Is my phone screwed for good?
Same Problem with Xperia J

Did you find a solution for your problem?
In reality, I have the same problem with an xperia j (ST26i) , with some differences:
Initial Problem:
- The mobile belongs to my cousin, she updated it with the sony update center to the latest version (JB 4.1.2) and there: problem with the wifi when the sim.
- I got the mobile, and downgrade to the 4.0.4 version, I've tried 4 different versions:
-> ST26i_11.0.A.3.18_Global
-> ST26i_11.0.A.7.5_CE
-> ST26i_11.0.A.3.28_WE
-> St26i_4.0.4_11.0.A.3.28_CE3
I had always the problem with the wifi when the sim plugged.
Finally I've tried also the UNOFFICIAL CM 10, with no success
- I found a solution with the apk wifix manager witch worked with the 28 WE version of the firmware.
But I've continued to search an other solution, and I've remarked that when I flash the rom I always get the Warn: "This file is ignored : simlock.ta "
After some research I get an advice by a member of XDA to rename the file as "preset.ta", AND THERE, it works no warning ... BUT the sim is blocked (not locked) and I have always the message (invalid card).
I've tried to reflash the firmware many times, to relock the bootloader (with appropriate ftf proposed in this forum ), Tried to use the sony update service .. But I have always the same problem (INVALID CARD)
I've also tried to format everything with CWM (system, card, cache) and made a sdcard partition, and NO way.
So, can any body help me with that please?!
Note : I'm in the middle east zone, some suggestions in the web talk about re-installing the official O2 rom, but I've searched this ROM with no success.

I have this error on XPERIA SP C5303 trying to flash 12.0.A.1.284 on top of 12.0.A.1.257. But my phone is SIM Locked and I know it. And I thought that rewriting simlock.ta from unlocked firmware unlock the phone as well. But flashtool skipping that file. It's really annoying !!! Don't know what to do to unlock it now

Note 2 GT-N7100 - No service
I will borrow this thread as I have the same issue.
Hello, friends.
I have a interesting problem and would like to ask you experts for help. I know this is a thread for GS3, but the problem is similar for my Note 2.
BACKGROUND:
I have Galaxy Note 2 N7100 which was working fine for a year and then suddenly died of SDS. I returned it to official service for repair where they said they replaced the chip (i am guessing they replaced the whole motherboard). When I got it back everything was working fine except when I inserted my SIM card phone had no service.
I went back to repair service and after few days they said they don't know what is the problem and how to solve it and I can get another N7100 in around two weeks. At that time I was developing Android App, so I managed to get the broken Note 2 back for developing. Eventually I got a new, working N7105 and they also let me keep the old, broken one.
I would like to get the broken Note 2 working again, as I believe it could be fixed, or at least I could try.
PROBLEM:
After motherboard replacement (because SDS), phone has No service. Phone appears (*#06#) to have a valid IMEI number (3536270500*****) BUT it is a bit different than on the sticker under battery (last 6 numbers are different, * chars). Serial number is also different.
I am guessing it changed with motherboard replacement? Could this be the problem?
Sometimes it shows that the phone has signal and has connected the right service provider, but it is just for a short while. When there is no SIM card, phone has No SIM icon, but shows signal bar, which appears to be working for Emergency calls only.
Phone was never rooted or flashed before SDS happened, so I don't have original EFS backup before motherboard replacement. First thing I did now, was Root, EFS backup and ROM(4.1.2) backup.
PHONE INFO:
Model: Samsung Galaxy Note 2, GT-N7100
Device Type: t03g
Product name: t03gxx
Phone is unlocked and unbranded (at least it was before SDS).
Currently it has [ROM][4.3]N7100XXUEMK9 DeOdexed & Zipaligned installed.
PDA version: N7100XXUEMK9
Baseband version: N7100XXUEMJ9
Bootloader version: N7100XXDME6
CSC version: N/A, but under CSC info it says Sales code: XTC - which I believe is Philippines. I am from Slovenia, Europe.
IMEI: 3536270500xxxxx (www.imei.info says it is valid)
IMEI on the sticker: 3536270501xxxxx has last 6 digits different
S/N: R31C80xxxxx
S/N on sticker: R31C90xxxxx
WHAT I ALREADY DID:
Phone had Stock 4.1.2 ROM installed.
I rooted the phone, did EFS Backup, entire ROM backup with cwm ROM Manager.
Excluded SIM card issue. My SIM card is working in other phones. I also tried other SIM cards in my N7100 and they all have no service.
Tried flashing different modems on 4.1.2 Stock ROM.
Tried Ariza Patch.
I flashed it to [ROM][4.3]N7100XXUEML6 PreRooted, DeOdexed, Zipaligned & KNOX Free
I flashed it to [ROM][4.3]N7100XXUEMK9 DeOdexed & Zipaligned - Current ROM. Because UEMK9 is installed on my working N7105
Tried flashing different modems on 4.3 ROM.
Tried deleting EFS folder to rebuild itself with generic IMEI (0049..). In that case it shows as connected to network every 10 seconds for about 5 seconds and then disconnects. Then copying old nv_data.bin to new EFS. It didn't work so I restored EFS.
I tried other stuff and did a lot of search but I am also quite new to all this rooting and flashing stuff. So if you guys have any suggestions that I could try (even if I already did it) please, do suggest and I will try. If you need any additional info, please ask and I will gladly post it.
I attached some pictures with SIM card inserted and without SIM card.

[Moto Z2 | XT1789-x] Paritionning, modem and A/B general questions

Hi everyone,
I’m used to ROM flashing, programming and hacking some stuff using linux and other, but I currently stuck on a serious issue:
I am totally unable to fix modem issue on the Moto Z2 Force - “Nash” - XT-1789-06 FR/intenational.
I have another brand new stock XT-1789-04 “retail” on label but ATT software ready to be flashed !
I hope this post will help to anderstand both modem firmware and seemless A/B devices.
------------------
Here is my story as an example:
- I get a XT1789-06, factory reset it. All worked perfectly.
- I unlocked the bootloader with the motorola well know method. No trouble.
- I boot Lineage-recovery.img then install Lineage 16.0 from zip with adb-sideload
- It boot and works perfectly, I can call, use wifi etc... but when I restart, it goes into Bootloop…
- After few attempt to re reflash, may be I miss something, so i decided to return into stock-rom until I’ll find a way to fix this bootloop issue.
- As I don’t have any back-up, I start to find the stockrom zip.
- I find the great rom reprository for ‘nash’ :
- I’m questionning about de difference bettween RETAIL and RET.EU and other ? So I finaly flash the XT1789-06-RETAIL-OPSX
- The phone boot well but no sim Card detected and no wifi, no baseband, no IMEI, strange MAC wifi adress.
-This looks like a classical issue so I tried ALL the classic methode to fix it:
--- Fastboot erase modemst1/st2 erease carrier ..
--- Root it using Magisk (no problem) and tried the chmod something way.
Still same issue...
So I started to flash several different NON-HLOS.bin and FSG.bin (this two file only), and I find the XT1789-05 T-mobile file is working on my XT1789-06! (strange because my is XT1789-06 and the carrier is not TMO) Wifi is working, Sim card detected asking for PIN ok IMEI OK ….
But no network (Gsm,LTE,2G,3G,4G…) at all. The Baseband is shown as ‘xxxTMO”
It is the only NON-HLOS.bin wich detect my SIM card and turn on wifi.
All the other give me baseband not found, no IMEI, no wifi.
Could it be an issue with android 8.0 and 9.0 ? (I may have flash 8.0/9.0)
Now, I’m no more able to boot into lineage recovery, only TWRP is possible.
When I triy to install lineage Zip using TWRP it tell me “ERROR:X” (7 ?)
So here is some general question to clarify all modem question:
- What the file NON-HLOS.bin stand for ? What does it mean, from which source it come from and for what purpose ?
- What the file fsg.bin stand for ? What does it mean, from which source it come from and for what purpose ?
- Is is possible to flash only NON-HLOS and/or fsg.bin ? Does it need to be according to gpt.bin for partitionning ?
- Do yo know the exact file is needed for the XT1789-06 French/Europ
- How to know if a baseband is “locked” for a specific carrier ? Is the RETAIL sotck ROM totaly unlocked ?
- Do you think I can use T-Mobile baseband to access the French ‘orange’ networks ? The TMO modem dont ask me any “SIM-LOCK code” so it not appear to be locked, but no still no networks.
- Is it possible to change the networks/frequency/zone/technology by software methode ? (like by dialing *#*#4636#*#* we could select GSM only CMDA LTE ….. ) could someone to explain exactly for wich country is it applicable ?)
- What OPXS / OPX / PPX exactly mean ?
- Could Some one Clarify the “slot a / slot b” reason, usage, method of flashing boot … I suspect the underliying reason of the issue is about the two slots.
- When we flash NON-HLOS to modem partion, why we usaly erase modemst1/2 after that ? When we choose ‘modem” partition, is it slot_a, slot_b or both ?
- What is the carrier and OEM partition ?
- Is it possible to make a backup of a fully working machine, then applying only the “modem” or “persist” partition to another same exact model phone ? (I’m about to buy a brand new one to dump the exact modem file)
- Is there a way to get the full (even unofficial) source code for hardware part of the motorola nash ?
- What about a blank flash ? Do you think it could be a way to recover the modem ?
- Could the Qualcom serial debug be a way of un-bricking it ? Then, how to boot EDL ?
- Please clarify the what we exactly have to flash on A/B slot to avoid boot loop ?
I am very commited to deleted all the Google bloat stuff from motorola mobile so I bought a brand new 17896-04 and I will try a new round :fingers-crossed:
I hope this post will defenitely clarify the handeling of modem issue be cause lot of us seems to have serious trouble.
Thank in advance,
Best regards,
R-A-F
The problem are the updates, screw the modem data, and we are so much people who have this issue, we trying to solve this, pls stay tune
