Hi all,
The glass on the front of my g4 seems to be separating from the panel underneath, up near the camera area:

I sent it in for a warranty repair with my provider (Optus, 2 year Australian warranty still has 6 months to run) but they refused to repair on the grounds that the phone was bending, causing the separation, and that this isn't covered under warranty. Quoted $260(AUD = $150USD) for repair.
Just hoping someone here might have a suggestion on how this could be repaired without replacing the screen. I could probably replace the screen myself (I see the assemblies are now going for about $50USD) but don't want to do that before the end of my warranty. My current plan is to leave it and see if it gets worse, if it doesn't get worse I'll just wait six months till I can recontract and get another phone. But if it starts getting worse it might be nice to have a backup plan (especially since I actually really like this phone otherwise).
Cheers
I have the same issue, but less large, on the bottom, near LG logo. I don't care about that.

^Yeah, even I had replaced my screen a few months back. It's gonna cost you anywhere between 1-1.5k! Although mine was under warranty, so got it replaced for free.
You can get it replaced at any samsung service center and it took them a couple of days in my case.

Ohh, and I'm tired of the update available prompt (rooted with custom kernel)
Want to go back to stock, and flash 6.0. But had two drops that damaged the corners and moulding holding the screen. Screen itself is fine, but worry that it will separate in time.
Just filed claim with Square Trade (bought at Staples), and their recommendation was to send me a check. Not sure how much?
I did have epoxy on one corner, but it chipped away. Need a more solid repair.
Any good source for parts? And how hard of a self repair?
What about sending g back to ASUS for repair?
Thanks for comments....

$44
From the videos, it looks like the broken bezels are part of the front housing. But it also looks virtually impossible to separate the screen/digitizer from that without damaging it. I think this full assembly would be much easier.
Now what would be cost to send to ASUS, or to just get my check and apply a few more dabs of epoxy?
Does it really matter?
Mines chipped at three corners. Granted only one is as big as yours, but its working fine.
Yeah...works fine. But could look better. Was thinking it could degrade over time and effect display.
Squaretrade said to send it to them for $239 refund. Just had to order an Asus charger for $10 to include with my return.
Hi everyone,
The blue streaks have actually been there a few weeks now, but the red one just appeared. Can something like this be fixed; aside from lcd replacement?
Thank you

Okay perhaps not backlight bleed, more like stuck pixels. I've run the various stuck pixel tools for a couple days now, to no avail. Guess I just have to put up with it. Cheapest replacement lcd I've found is $40.
Has no one else experienced this with their Nexus 7?
Nope, looks like a damaged lcd. I expect there has been pressure applied to it or something. My best bet is that you cannot fit this with any software.

Yeah that appears to be the case. Well it's def out of warranty, guess I'll just nurse it along till the Nexus 7 2016 (assuming it actually is) comes out.
Hello everyone, if anyone can help me with this would be fantastic. I bought a Zenfone 2 last November on amazon, and recently it started overheating what I think caused some burned marks on the edges of the screen. I requested assistance from asus and they offered the RMA to fix it or replace it, but I'm afraid to be charged with CID ( consumer induced damage) since my phone have a lot of cosmetic damage. Should I take the chance with the RMA?

I had to RMA mine for basically the same thing (this thread). After hearing nothing from Asus for over a month I emailed them and raised hell. They responded and looked into it. They finally said that they were having issues getting the parts for it and offered me a replacement device which I accepted. My phone was in perfect shape except for the screen issue (used cases and tempered glass from day one) but it would be worth a shot. Just make sure you have a stand-in device before you send it, though.
Looking back I wish I would have just had it repaired by a local place. It would have cost me 80-100 bucks but I would have only been without my phone for a couple of days.
Hello!
My phone didn't survive an adventure with water... I sent it to LG Poland, and after one month they sent phone back and answered that warranty is void due to water damage. I think that they should repair phone because of IP68 certificate. I just want to ask you, have you ever had a similar problem and had you sent LG's phone to warranty repair? What did LG's service answer?
There's one more thing... They resent phone with damage on bottom left corner...
Below I attach photos how phone looked before repair, and how it looks after repair...

dont try to connect it to any source of electricity or try to turn it on, put it on a bag of rice for about a week and then connect it and try to turn it on
LG has very bad aftersales service . my G7 constantly stops charging even with little bit of moisture.
