Is it the total amount of Gb? That's not possible. Where did you buy the device? Are you sure it is original brand?
You can install the app called "DevCheck", check the features of your device and compare them with theoretical values.

Hi Guys,
I installed TWRP in my Mi Max (32GB) (locked BL) yesterday by replacing stock recovery.img with twrp image and flashing that miui8 dev build through MiFlash in EDL mode. After that my total space was showing nearly 8GB.
To mention, I followed all steps properly like clearing dalvik and cache as well as formatting system, data, internal mem but the same happened.
Again I completely removed mods and installed stock, 24GB space was regained. But now when this time also I installed Resurrection Remix CM13 in the same way as no other way worked for locked BL and unlocking bug has really frustrated me, same thing happened.
Somebody please take up this issue and help me. I wonder how people who installed CM13 RR on locked BL are not facing this issue !!!
Hey,
today I've got the message that I have low space left on my phone, what I really doubted. So I'd looked it up and the system partition in the android storage control under settings was HUGE >>>27 GB<<<.
So I searched around, but I couldn't find a solution. I erased and formatted everything via fastboot and flashed the factory image (7.1.1) fresh to the device. After the inital setup I went to the settings again and the huge system partition persisted! 19GB....
What could that be? How do I fix this?
Regards

Have you tried to wipe your system partition from stock bootloader menu?If you are rooted use your custom recovery the same way. To get on stock bootloader connect your phone to a PC and use adb reboot bootloader on terminal (cmd).
Worked out

Hey guys,
yes I've made it The reason was obviously a wrong SuperSu version, which I flashed. I flashed the 2.46 and this odd behavior of the storage appeared...
When I flashed the newer 2.76 (don't remember the exact version number) everything went normal. Can't get the connection between root and storage, but this was definitely the reason.
Have a nice day everyone
Hi. I'm new to this forum. Thanks in avance for your help.
I'm having a similar issue, but my system size is now 4.01 GB after 7.1.1 official OTA (AFAIK it should be less than 1 GB). My N5x is the 16 GB version, so you can imagine how important is to recover those missing 3 GB
I bought the N5x (brand new) last week, but I thought it was a good idea to wait for the official 7.1.1 OTA before upgradind from 6.0. So yesterday I did the whole update process in a single shot... First from 6.0 to 7.0... Then a couple security parches, and then finally the update to 7.1.1 (all official OTAs, no ROOT, all stock). In all intermediate update stages, system size was close to 1 GB. It was just in final 7.1.1 that the system size increased to 4.01 GB.
I've seen this problem in other forums over the last 24 hours, but no solution or explanation yet. Looking forward for your wise advice. THANKS !

I had the same problem as the OP, i used TWRP to resize the DATA partition and that fixed the problem.
System partition is 2.95GB according to a df -hm but storage reports it as using 4.24GB of data, not sure if running a resize on it will change anything but you could try it and see if changes anything.
Hello all! I've got a puzzling issue (for me, at least) that I'd like to see if anyone else has encountered and what their possible fix might be.
So I've been alternating between running Resurrection Remix and Pure Nexus the past few months and have had no issues flashing new builds or kernels. Last night when I went to switch back from RR to Pure Nexus I encountered and error I haven't seen before and some weird results from it.
When I went to flash the Pure Nexus it kept failing stating TWRP was unable to find the meta/inf/com/Google (I think) data in the zip. I tried flashing RR again with the same issue. I then tried to wipe and restore a TWRP backup that didn't end up working even though it said it did. I then decided screw it and flashed the factory image for the Pixel XL and was able to at least get booted and running on stock. However, my storage is pretty much gone and now only have like 6gb out of 8gb total. Upon I spection System is currently taking up 20gb worth of storage and even after flashing the factory image again it is still not resolved.
Can anyone tell me what I managed to do here and if there is a fix? Realistically I'd love to figure out how to actually repartition everything in the phone and start from scratch again.
Any advice or insight would be greatly appreciated as I'm not new to rooting and rom'ing but am getting uinely confused as to what has happened here.
PS: I attached a picture of my storage breakdown but can't inspect further due to not having root and being on stock. Viewing storage in TWRP didn't yield much more I formation either.

I believe I tried that at one point last night but will try it again here shortly. Any thoughts on what it could be if this does not fix it? And what method would you recommend to format userdata? Do I do it through TWRP?

You may need to fast boot new boot images to slot a and b. You just have to unzip factory image and you will see them in there. Or just flash the factory image all over. Start fresh.

Any luck getting past this? I am in the same boat on a Moto X4. I tried to downgrade from 8.1 to 8.0. Flashing went fine but now stuck at the same "Just a sec" screen. Gonna try wiping internal. Hope I can back it up first but I bet it's encrypted and I cant.

how to wipe internal storage?
I've tried wiping internal storage, also format data. Nothing is working, please help. My device is Redmi Note 4 {mido}. I have tried using different ROMs too.:crying::crying:
bro did u find a solution....? pls say. I am stuck in same problem and wiping the internal storage doesn't helps.
I'm in the same boat with Verizon Note 3. I've tried flashing lineage 16.0 official, unofficial, couple other Android 9 based ROMs, never get past 'Just a sec....' Tried wiping everything but microSD, formatting, nothing has any effect.
So, how did you guys managed to solve this problem? My 5t is stuck in "Just a sec..." screen, changing roms won't help. :/

The issue still persists even after Wiping internal storage or Formatting data. Nothing worked. However, I managed to install the stock ROM to my Redmi Note 4 after this and continued to use the phone. But I can't go past the Just a sec.....screen in Resurrection Remix 7.0.2 ROM and I want it badly. Any help?
I had this issue on my Mi Mix 3 after downgrading Magisk.
It kept being stuck on 'Just a sec...' even after resetting and wiping everything back to factory settings on my phone
I managed to fix it by flashing and older stock ROM to my phone from my laptop using the MiFlash tool, it still couldnt boot afterwards but I didn't need to fill in a password in TWRP anymore..
after the password was removed by the flashing, i flashed a xiaomi.eu ROM from TWRP and my phone finally booted back up again.
I hope this somehow helps anyone, if you have any questions I'd be glad to brainstorm for a solution with you
Best of luck all!
In my case the fix was trivial!
https://www.reddit.com/r/AndroidQue..._just_a_sec_after_factory_reset_help/fmmiqjb/
I fixed it by erasing data via stock recovery (not TWRP).
I Have similar issue suck at just a sec ... screen and my phone is vivo v15 pro.
I am trying to encrypt but there is a bug in the firmware. It simpy reboots.
Is it a problem in the rom (latest xiaomi.eu miui 10) or am I doing something wrong?
THank you
Afaik all current MIUI custom ROMs have encryption disabled
I hope we'll eventually get some working AOSP/LineageOS ROM instead of MIUI crap
you mean for Mi Max 3, right?
In other xiaomi phones, it is possible.
Yep
I've tried multiple available ROMs several weeks ago, none had it, so I had to stay on chinese miui 10. They are probably using this script https://build.nethunter.com/android-tools/no-verity-opt-encrypt/
I'm not sure why they had to use it. I know, currently TWRP cannot manipulate encrypted data partition on latest Android versions because of dm-verity thing, but that doesn't look like sufficient reason to disable encryption for me. Maybe they have some other reasons when making custom ROMS idk.
Are you asking about "Additional Setting > Privacy > Encrption & credentials" , mine shown as 'Phone encrypted'
I'm on CN ROM 8.8.3 with EU MIUI 8.8.9_v10-8.1.

Yes, but it is not.
The phone needs to be charged at least al 95% and be connected to power. Then the button is enabled. It restart, and nothing happens.
I need to install a MDM to access my company email and agenda. The MDm tries to apply the encription and doesn't let me progress. The result: I have the Max 3 in a drawer
Ok;
YES YOU CAN.
It took me two days to find out why and how. but here is the fix: you need to resize your data partition so that it will have 32kb of free space.
Instructions here:
https://android.stackexchange.com/questions/146081/how-to-resize-the-data-f2fs-partition
it does work for me; and I suggest you try it. I am running BenzoROM with Android Pie, unlocked bootloader and the 6GB variant. YMMV.

Well, mostly. Meaning: I'm not sure quick-charge works (haven't tried it), bluetooth calling is meh (worked once and failed once) and screen flickers at brightness changes.
You do need to replace the stock camera with open camera. But apart from that? well, you get clean android 9.0 experience with no other flaws.
Hello!
Anybody tried this with xiaomi.eu roms ?

Not working for me on the latest xiaomi.eu build.
Even though it said encryption was fixed in the change log.

When I try to encrypt device, screen just is going black for a 2-3 seconds and back to home screen. Doesn't even reboot.
Have you got the same issue?
Encryption also works on xiaomi.eu 8.12.13
Here is what I did (to the best of my memory, try at your own risk!):
- Reset to "fastboot ROM" Global 9.6.6 (the version my phone was shipped with).
- Flashed TWRP
- Wiped data, dalvik, and cache
- Flashed eu 8.12.13
- Flashed Magisk
- setup phone, etc
After that, I encrypted the phone via the settings menu (search for encrypt). Works just fine.
However currently there is one problem. All TWRP versions for Mi Max 3 can not access the data partition, because TWRP does not know how to decrypt the data partition in Pie. So you won't be able to flash anything that needs access to the data partition But a future TWRP will fix this, hopefully soon ...

So, it's better to wait for new TWRP. But what with ARB? Is any possibility to check it on Mi Max 3? getvar anti in fastboot doesn't work. I know Xiaomi.eu roms have ARB. I bought my phone (6/128) flashed with Global rom 10.0.1.0. Is anywhere list which versions of anti are in roms? I wonder if flashing Global dev 8.12.13 with fastboot method and after that flashing xiaomi.eu 8.12.13 could resolve problem with encryption. Maybe I'l try.

Developer @nijel8 has released a new TWRP which can decrypt user data now
