Hi
I bough android rear view mirror with below config.
System: Android 4.4.2, Allwinner A33 Quad core CPU, 4 ARM Cortex TM A7 CPUs.
2. RAM: 1GB RAM DDR3.
3. ROM: Built-in 16GB internal disk, can support up to 32GB Micro SD Card.
4. 7 inch big screen can split into two display. 5-points capacitive touch screen, clear, sensitive slight touch.
But thing is i cannot install apps to device its says insufficient storage available. it has three storage 300mb , 16 gb internal and 32 gb SD card. normally app goes 300mb location.
SO i want to install apps to second internal storage 16gb but how i do it. sorry for bad english.
Thank you
I had some success by installing uninstaller.app.
I used uninstaller to remove and freeze some unwanted apps and this allowed me to install a few of my favorites. Still space is very limited.
Try contacting your seller. They may be able to provide you a firmware that increases the system storage where the apps are installed.
However if your mirror is 512mb then unfortunately that's all you're going to get out of it.
You may need a mirror like this one to avoid that problem:

A year of 7 ago I owned an IPAQ 3780. On that device you could change the amount of memory and storage. More memory and less storage or otherwise.
According to the HTC website, the HTC diamond has:
ROM: 256 MB
RAM: 192 MB DDR SDRAM
Internal storage: 4 GB
Most roms with TF3D enabled have around 60MB ram left after booting.
Still it makes me wonder why we can't change that amount by making the internal storage smaller and add it to the memory. The device comes with a 4GB internal storage, so what is the point of having a large 'standard' storage. It is not that difficult to move pointers to 'my documents' to 'internal storage\my documents' etc.
But asking this, i think Rom builders already know there is a reason why the RAM can't be enlarged.
Please enlight me with the answer or start discussing how to build such a rom.
That's impossible, absolute different technologies in RAM and storage.. And btw, 64MB of RAM is used for video acceleration, and 60MB goes to Windows Mobile..
In your old Ipaq storage and memory were the same. When the battery was empty all your data was lost. Only the os was kept in the rom. Since Windows Mobile 5 all your saved data is in the rom - and cannot be lost when the battery is empty.
so you can not enlarge the rom by decreasing the ram - its completely different hardware.
Yep, those were the days of WM3 where that was an option to the end user. Even if such an option existed today, how many would actually subtracted the storage for more ram? Well, every user is different. The way I use Ram vs. Rom on this device is basically straight down the middle.
To each is own! The trick here is to work with what we have. I think we aren't doing to bad at all!

Oke, that answers it.
Though 64MB for video acceleration is a huge buffer for this 640*480 pixels screen. Stealing memory there?

Hi all,
my wife owns a Wildfire S since a couple of days.
But I am quite disappointed about the amount of available memory (internal storage) for applications.
She does not have a lot of applications installed (about 5), but the available is only about 93 MB.
When going to "Settings - Applications - Manage Applications" it shows me at the bottom of the screen "Internal Storage: 57MB used, 93MB free".
The phone specs state RAM 512 MB and Internal Storage also 512MB. Why is it showing only 140MB in reality?
Can someone explain this, please?
Is this normal?
How much available storage do you guys have on yours, please?
(Btw, also via "Settings - Storage" it shows "92,07MB as available space" on internal storage)
The phone is a T-Mobile branded one from The Netherlands.
Thanks in advance.
Mine got 512MB internal storage as well, but i think that the OS uses some space that don't show up. Have you tried moving apps to the SD card?
Moving apps to SD indeed does free up some memory, however...
I have only installed a few apps (less then 10mb all together), therefore I am quite disappointed with the little available memory.
The phone is a dutch Tmobile version. I can see there are a few Tmobile apps built-in into the rom, but surely they can't take up that much space, could it? (Adding up used + available internal storage only totals about 150mb, which is far from the 512mb as in the specs?)

Same issue! I got mine yesterday and after barely installing anything. Im low on internal memory and it adds up to 140mb not 512.
Btw android, sense and other HTC things take up that memory. It is only 512mb when there is nothing on the internal memory.
Same issue here. Quite a disappointment and no way to really solve it.
Hello all, search 'darktremor app2sd' in this xda website

Im amazed at how little memory this phone has. After 2 days and 5 apps its basically completely out of space. I liked the smaller form factor but this is ridiculous.
U can move all of ur apps to SD if u want...and it doesn't even require rooting...i was also having problem with this whole low internal memory thing..but i found this...
its quiet simple really...it does help a little...with this u can use "move to SD card" option in application settings for nearly all the apps..
Hope this helps..
PS : u can use an app called android tool box..its really useful..it has many options like app manager, cache cleaner, file explorer, start up manager and many more..it is quiet handy when u'r low on Ram or space..
O.K. I didn't go for the mid level or high level storage unit, I went with the 16GB as with my Acer A500 on ICS had 16GB with 9-10GB free.
I power on my new Note and my apps start to load up from Google Play, and i start getting a message that only 2.9 - 2.8- 2.6 GB of internal storage left.
I checked the 16GB of space and what do i find,
System memory: 4.21 (OS right?)
Used Space: 8.33GB
Cached: 409MB
Misc: 800MB
and only 2.28GB avaliable!!!!
Is this because of JB? I just never though Android would ever catch up to space requirements of windows OS'.
If anyone can give me a few suggestion on how to lower this usage I would appreciate it, as i do have about 7-8GB of music i would normally carry directly on my device.
Sd card

Yes get an SD card and move the music to it. Also make sure all photos are going to the external card.
Use lecture notes instead of snote and make sure it is using the external card.

Search for foldermount. You can mount ext sdcard directories as internal. Problem solved. You must be rooted...

I have already ordered a 64G card, was planning to use it just for music. However the question still remains, is this JB thats so large or is it Samsung?
I look at my S3 running 4.1.2 (Stock OTA) its a 16GB device also, and it stands like this:
Total: 11.95GB
App: 2.01GB
Pic, Vid: 1.28GB
Audio: 83.84MB
Downloads: 2.75MB
Misc: 138MB
Avaliable Space: 7.96GB
So it leads me to believe its alot of bloat from Sammy for the Note devices.

It's both. JB is relatively huge, and Samsung adds about 1GB of their own apps including s-pen support, etc..
Even my 16GB only had like 12 GB free right out of the box.
Your expectations are a bit strange, even your S3 example above, shows that just the OS alone takes about 4.1 GB.
Hey,
i am looking for a custom rom for my Odys TAO x10 Tab. I found nothing on google or in the boards so i decided to ask.
I mainly need the Custom rom to expand my internal memory (RAM) with a micro sd card. This is not possible with my tab without custom rom/kernel.
I got it rooted but fund nothing further than that.
Here are some specs, maybe helping someone.
"ODYS Tao X10. Display diagonal: 10.1", Display resolution: 1024 x 600 pixels.
Internal storage capacity: 8 GB.
Processor frequency: 1.5 GHz,
Processor family: Arm,
Processor model: AML8726-MXS.
Internal memory: 1 GB.
Top Wi-Fi standard: IEEE 802.11n.
Card reader integrated.
Operating system installed: Android 4.2.2
Thank you for your help! Need this bloody expanded memory to keep my tab alive! And maybe a better android than 4.2.2
greetings
Hello. How to increase RAM to 4-6 GB? Who can become a donor?
Sorry for my English. My Google Translate Assistant
You can't magically "increase" your hardware RAM to 4 or 6GB, but instead you can set a virtual ram environment using internal storage, which helps the hardware RAM to not force close any background apps due to no ram available, install this app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.allakore.swapnoroot&hl=pt_BR&gl=US) and set the space that you want to reserve for RAM swapping, you can even do it without root.
Thnx)
Unfortunately, software magnification does not solve the problem. I wonder if I can raise my memory mechanically
I know it's possible. On other devices

Hello, I installed the application in the link you gave. But I couldn't create partition for swap space. It gives an error. Is there any other method to improve the ram of my device
