You can do follow these instructions to unlock your Huawei GR5 2017. Absolutely work as well after unlocking and rooting my GR5 2017.
Have fun and enjoy rooting

Just unlocked my 6x, and it went nicely.
I suppose I just have to get used to that nag screen every reboot?

Not easily finding it, although I see one person suggested formating the factory partition, which seems incredibly drastic. (yes don't do that!)

This seems to be similar but my message is that Bootloader is unlocked and device can not be trusted. I doubt that unlocking again will make a difference.

Unfortunately I can't find my country (France) in the Huawei ID registration. Do you know if it matters if I pick another one?

I think I used a different country when unlock my g7 a few years ago. It required sms verification but I used the Firefox web editing thing to convince the site to send to my home number by adding it to the list of countries. But I don't have the instructions for this anymore.
Edit: I used the same account to unlock my 6x, and it still worked

You are right, the country doesn't matter. In fact it's just a two steps verification, and if you don't find your country code for the sms, I'll suggest taking the mail verification, with any country. It worked for me.

Working but in Original Language (chinese) in other language i can't to reach the web page where we put the imei .... !!!!!!!!
But work
thank you

HONOR 6X Not listed on Huawei Website
Is it just me or is anyone else having an issue in getting the unlock code from the official website? I registered for an official Huawei ID, and even had to choose the Cayman Islands as my location, as the USA was not available. However, after finally being logged in, the Honor 6X is not listed under the devices. Please help!

[Outdated] How to unlock and root your new Honor 8x. Instructions inside

January 2023 Edit: The guide below is now outdated. The technique still works, but some of the steps have changed, and may not reflect your experience when rooting. Proceed with caution.
Hello XDA. I have spent the past couple of weeks struggling with unlocking and rooting this awesome device. After some researching I have decided to put this guide together after stumbling on a lot of fake guides on Google that don't work for the Honor 8x. I hope this helps you!
Step 1: Purchase a bootloader code.
Unfortunately, since Huawei stopped providing unlock codes, there is no way around this requirement. Some older guides suggest DC Unlocker, but this does NOT work with newer Huawei devices, and there are no known exploits to get around this. I have provided some options below (which have been tested by XDA members). All you need to do is provide them your IMEI, which can be found under Settings > System > About Phone.Ministry of Solutions: https://ministryofsolutions.com/202...-unlock-service-jsn-l21-jsn-l22-jsn-al00.htmlFunkyHuawei: https://funkyhuawei.club/buycodes [No longer providing service]Global Unlocking Solutions: [Website gone - 404 Error]Various eBay sellers: https://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_nkw=huawei+bootloaderAlternate solution: Try asking a Huawei Service center near you. https://www.androidauthority.com/honor-india-bootloader-unlocking-933231/Confirmed working at some locations outside of Asia.
Step 2: Download ADB.
Link here: https://dl.google.com/android/repository/platform-tools-latest-windows.zipAnd unzip it to somewhere on your computer.
Step 3: Setup your phone
Go to Settings > System > About Phone, and tap "Build Number" 7 times to unlock Developer mode. Go back to System, and tap Developer Options. Enable OEM Unlock and USB Debugging.
Step 4: Unlocking your device
Connect your phone to your PC via USB. Make sure you select "Transfer files" when the message pops up on your phone, and select Trust this computer when the debugging warning pops up. Open your ADB folder, hold Shift and right-click, then select "Open Powershell window" or "Open command prompt". In the next window, type "adb devices" and make sure your device is listed (If not, check to make sure USB debugging is enabled, or reconnect the USB cable.)After that, type "adb reboot bootloader". Once that is done, type "fastboot oem unlock xxx" (replace xxx with the unique code you purchased in Step 1). Warning! This will format your phone and return it to stock configuration. Your phone now has an unlocked bootloader!
Step 5: Install Magisk Manager.
Download and install the Magisk Manager app on your phone. APK here: https://github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk/releases/download/manager-v6.0.1/MagiskManager-v6.0.1.apk
Step 6: Flashing twrp and Magisk
Download the latest twrp image: https://dl.twrp.me/kirin/ and place it into your ADB folder. Then download this magisk ZIP: https://github.com/topjohnwu/Magisk/releases/download/v17.1/Magisk-v17.1.zip and place it on a spare Micro SD card, and put that card in the device.Reconnect your device to the PC, again open a Powershell/Command Prompt (as in Step 4).Type "adb reboot bootloader", then type "fastboot flash recovery_ramdisk twrp-kirin.img". This should complete successfully. Turn off your device by holding down the power button.Disconnect the phone from USB (do not skip this part otherwise you are unable to boot into recovery). Then hold "Volume UP" and "Power" until the blue Honor logo shows up. Release both buttons. You should see a Teamwin logo and twrp will load. This version of twrp is a work in progress so the touchscreen does not work (this is currently being worked on by the folks at twrp builder https://twrpbuilder.github.io/. As soon as they fix it, I will update this guide!). A temporary fix is by using an OTG Cable https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/51HI4XhstKL._SX425_.jpg and a standard USB mouse. Use it to swipe-right and select "Install". You might need to "Select storage" and choose your SD card. Find the Magisk zip and install it, then reboot.
Your Honor 8x phone is now rooted!

Thanks.
Edit: I will provide some instructions below if you wish to do a ota update to a newer version of EMUI (one of which was released recently for the Honor 8x).
* The root must be removed, and phone restored to factory stock before doing a ota update. The bootloader will remain unlocked (no change).
* Stock factory firmware currently can be restored in the Huawei eRecovery by restarting your phone, then on the "Your device has been unlocked" screen, press "Up" for three seconds. From here, you can download the latest version (This will format the phone). After updating, you must re-root from Steps 3 to 6 above (you can skip step 4).
* There should be an easier method to update without formatting, but the current version of twrp causes issues if you try and flash the update. (Error 9, as reported by some users)
I will update the guide when this is fixed.
I have been warned that this may not work for a Qualcomm chipset. Will update if there is any further information about that.

To my knowledge, only the 8x Max has a Qualcomm chipset. All of the regular 8x devices have a Kirin one.

Interesting to see a TWRP build for the new Kirin 710. @chickenwingding Do you think that they will be able to make Nova 3i a TWRP build too? I still didn't unlock it, but I'm going to do it soon, and I've never ported recoveries before, and because this is my first Kirin device I would like some help regarding that. But looking at the log of their app it looks like they reject Huawei/Honor devices now. How did you get them to build Honor 8X TWRP?
New in Huawei devices
I have an Honor 8x Chinese version, once I completed this tutorial could I change the region to my terminal flashing a European rom?
Thanks for the post.
I purchased my honor 8X (AL00a) from China and its developer page doesn't have "OEM Unlock" option. It is not there... Believe me... So, even if I can get an unlock code, I will not able to unlock it. Right? Do you know any solution about that? Huawei closed all ways I guess...

The Nova 3i uses the same SoC as the Honor 8x, so the same recovery image might work for it. And the twrp builder group don't do Huawei/Honor anymore because the company stopped providing bootloader unlocks, so it's very difficult (and expensive) for new owners to root their phone. They said it's not worth developing for newer Huawei devices anymore. The reason they did it for me was because I promised them a cash donation.
Are custom Roms even being developed for this device?

Not really. It's the same story for all new Huawei/Honor devices, since they stopped supporting bootloader unlocks.

Bootloader unlock for China varient

Does anyone know if there is a special way to unlock the China version of this device?
I have the 8/128gb version from China and can not unlock the bootloader. Ive tired anything and everything and it just hangs after I run the flashing unlock prompt (on cmd term) and nothing happens on my phone screen.
Has anyone else faced this problem and is there any tips/solutions?
Thanks
Edit: I also get this screen when running the unlocking script as well.
Any ideas? As I don’t speak/read Mandarin or Cantonese (apologies if I mislabeled the dialect used)
Mods, please delete!
I was able to use a different windows machine and everything worked !
Was you able to flash a custom ROM ?

5. Around 15 minutes later, your application will be reviewed. Click "开始深度测试" Your device will reboot to "START" fastboot. Use "fastboot flashing unlock" command to unlock bootloader.
The steps is my translation from the official forum article. I bought a Realme X Chinese varient online yesterday (4+64 G, CNY ¥950). It is on shipping now. I will try this official guide after receiving the device.
Note: I am not sure if there is an English version of "DeepTesting_realme-release_signed(8).apk". Here are some Chinese phrases, which may appear in the unlock app. In Chinese, "开始" means "start". "深度测试" means "DeepTesting". "已提交申请" means "have submitted application". "查询审核状态" means "check review state". "审核通过" means "Reviewed".

Hi, the in-depth test from the indian guide to unlock the bootloader (https://c.realme.com/in/post-details/1167251892128972800) can be used on the chinese version?
If not the way to relock the bootloader are the same for both indian and chinese versions?

Perhaps not the same. I find the MD5 of the Chinese and Indian in-depth apk are different. You need to relock your phone with official in-depth app. The official unlock guides are similar. I'm sorry that I didn't translate reboot to fastboot with ADB command previously.

I read the Indian guide carefully and find there is no "Turn on OEM unlock in Developer options" step. It is necessary in Chinese version. I have received my Chinese Realme X and flashed "TWRP 3.3.1-30 Unofficial by mauronofrio", "lineage-16.0-20200108-UNOFFICIAL-RMX1901.zip" successfully . "Modified VBMETA" is necessary for flashing TWRP.

Moto G7 Power Root with Magisk NOT TWRP

My intent is to prevent crying and gnashing-of-teeth
Thanks to my retailer's very forgiving return policy I am up and happily running fully ROOTed (But after bricking two phones)
1. Get a copy of the Factory ROM (others have posted online - so hard work done.)
https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/ocean/official/CC/
I used XT1955-5_OCEAN_CCAWS_9.0_PPO29.114-30_cid50_subsidy-CCAWS_regulatory-DEFAULT_CFC.xml.zip
You can check which your phone is using Settings->System->About then Build Number at the bottom
2. Open the zip and copy the boot.img to the phone
3. Install "Magisk Manager" from Play Store
4. Use Magisk Mangers to create a "magisk_patched.img" from the boot.img and move the magisk_patched.img to your adb fastboot folder on the PC
5. Use fastboot to flash the magisk_patched.img
fastboot flash boot_a magisk_patched.img
the _a is important
If phone acts weird after, used bootloader to factory restore and believe it or not the magisk_patched stays flashed
See Restore Below
Install adb fastboot see
https://forum.xda-developers.com/android/software/windows-adb-fastboot-installer-sdk-t3516898
UNLOCK the Bootloader
(Motorola Mobility helps you with this but VOIDS the Factory Warranty)
1. Boot into bootloader –
(i). turn phone off,
(ii). hold volume-down and power together boots to bootloader
2. Plug phone into computer via USB-C
3. Open command prompt window
(i). In “type here to search” just type cmd
(ii). Right-Click Command Prompt in pop-up and select “Run as Administrator”
4. Test Fastboot
(i). Type “fastboot devices” (plural) in Command Prompt Window
(ii). It will return you phone’s ID. If it doesn’t return your device ID - your adb fastboot installation need attention, probably drivers

Does your device have a switch in developer options that says something about unlock bootloader? Can that switch be moved or is it greyed out?
Most Verizon devices have encrypted bootloader's and cannot have their bootloader's unlocked because Verizon encrypts them and has for quite some time now.

Yeah it has a switch it says " allow bootloader to be unlocked" it's it greyed out. I switched it to on.

Okay, but do you know if it matters if I have the model number XT1955-6? This thread tutorial says it works for all models and variants but it only has download links for XT1955-5, does the model number really matter?

As i stated the first step is get the unlock code. Then you can unlock the bootloader. Which means you can root it. Since it says all i assume it will work either way you can post in that thread. First i suggest you search it for your model or carrier.

If the switch doesn't allow you to move slider then it is probably encrypted by Verizon like all Verizon devices, well about 99% of their devices are nowadays. If the bootloader is indeed encrypted then there's nothing that can be done as far as I know because Verizon holds the keys to it and I've never read anything that said they have given that info up to anyone for anything. I may be wrong about this but greyed out "allow bootloader to be unlocked" is a red flag that to me mean it's encrypted and being a Verizon sold model device they're the ones who encrypted it.. Id do more research on it and if it is what I believe it may be maybe ask Verizon if they'll allow you to activate an unlocked Moto g7 power and if they say yes get an unlocked model and see about hooking it up through them but idk their policy about that they're pretty strict from what I've heard.. Worth a shot though. But if you do decide to go that route make sure lte bands and all match up to what Verizon uses , you know ... I search a bit later today and see if I can locate any more info on this model... If I do I'll send you a message with links.
Edit added:
***Just reread your replies ..
If you switched it to allow bootloader unlocking then I'd proceed with unlocking it and see what happens. I thought you meant it didn't allow to move the switch. If I was in your shoes I'd proceed with the unlocking bootloader. It will either work or it won't. Just remember it does delete all your data ..
I too have the 1955-6 My OEM unlock toggle works, I can enable it but Motorolas thing said it couldn't be unlocked. I stayed on the phone with Verizon for over an hour getting moved up to different people and thought I was getting somewhere until they said they said it was on Motorolas end..lol

U need to get that conversation recorded or if done in chat a copy of the chat and precedent it to the Moto techs on the bootloader stuff
Well I also stayed on the phone with Motorola for an hour and explained everything. They said that phone cant be unlocked and they dont have the power to create me a code because Verizon having them come locked. They kinda each blamed each other. I should have 3 wayed them I guess lol

You'll want to go here:
https://mirrors.lolinet.com/firmware/moto/ocean/official/VZW/
Then check your phone's Build Number to verify that you download the correct file. Mine was this one:

I hope this helps.

How will that help us to unlock the bootloader or obtain root? I was wondering if it was possible to flash the XT-1955-5 firmware and it allow the bootloader to be unlocked. Im sure it wouldn't work though.

So if I were to flash the 1955-5 firmware, its going to give me a new code to use on Motorola's website? My OEM unlock switch does toggle on and off, which I assume doesnt mean much of anything lol

Most Verizon phones can't be rooted . This software the rsd light might b able to root the Verizon phone try at ur own risk
I followed Op's steps and it worked, rooted.
I read somewhere that for A/B partition, we may need this additional step:
fastboot flash boot_b magisk_patched.img
Question is, do we really need _b flashed also? Thanks,

How To Guide How To: Unlock the T-Mobile Bootloader

Hello all, this is a quick and simple guide to unlocking your T-Mobile locked bootloader. Just a reminder: unlocking the bootloader will wipe your data. The instructions here will apply to all T-Mobile OnePlus devices.
Unlock your SIM. Some options here
Finding a sympathetic rep to unlock your device. I used the I'm a developer and need the device unlocked for work purposes and took 2 agents before I got mine unlocked.
Finding an awesome XDAer who has the capability to do it, such as https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...ng-service-oneplus-samsung-google-lg.4231597/ (never used this service, just an example but he seems active and still unlocking)
Paying a (trusted) 3rd party service. I never used them, YMMV
T-Mobile's official policy of waiting 40 days and paying off any balance on an EIP.
Toggle OEM Unlocking in Developer Options.
Jot down your IMEI with *#06#
Reboot the device to bootloader. You can do this via ADB or advanced reboot options in Developer Options.
On a computer with latest fastboot and OnePlus drivers installed, run:
Code:
fastboot oem get_unlock_code
Fill out the unlock application on OP's site: https://www.oneplus.com/unlock_token You should have all the necessary information to fill it out now.
Wait for the unlock application to be processed. It can take up to 2 weeks, or even longer on a new device. You can enjoy your still-locked OP9P for now.
Once the unlock application is processed, download the unlock file from the unlock site above, save it (as an example, I saved it as unlock.bin)
With your device in bootloader again, run:
Code:
fastboot flash cust-unlock [path/to/unlock.bin]
In my example, from the CWD as the unlock.bin file, I would run
Code:
fastboot flash cust-unlock unlock.bin
Unlock your bootloader with the command:
Code:
fastboot oem unlock
Congrats, your OnePlus device should now be unlocked!
I don't know if I been really unlucky or what, so far I have tried over the phone, chat, twitter, and local store without any results so far. Feels bad
I was able to get it unlocked via T-Mobiles twitter support on one try, Maybe because I payed off half the device already . Keep trying
Just keep trying, sometimes you get really unlucky. I have made $0 payment so far and had it unlocked on the first day I took it home. The store won't be able to help though. I used phone(8T) / facebook(9pro), twitter should be the same team as facebook and these are your best bets.

Just bought my OP9 Pro this am from T-mobile. Bought it on a promo so they were hesitant to unlock the device but I told them I was an Android Dev and travel world wide and not only did he not make me pay it off to unlock it he refused to take my money and whitelisted my phone before even activating it. So to their point above or below, keep trying and you will get someone nice. Or change your story. Up to you
They gave me a temporary unlock but I still can't toggle the oem unlocking button its greyed out. Am I doing something wrong.

Both of you have made statements that sound like you are talking about SIM unlocking. This is bootloader unlocking and is not related. T-Mobile support isn't there for you to unlock your bootloader and yes they will grant a temporary sim unlock if you need it.

Temporary unlock doesn't work, must be permanent. If you are really unlucky with support, try #2, he's active and currently unlocking 9 series.

Read OP, permanent SIM unlock must be acquired before OEM Unlocking is available (or we are waiting for an exploit). Temp unlock does nothing in the context of getting the BL unlocked.

Oh Geeze. I hadn't looked too closely yet as I just got the phone yesterday. But there goes one of the key reasons for getting the One Plus over the S21 lol. It's on a Sprint account and they couldn't activate it with the T-Mobile sim (according to the rep) so that 1 guy can't help. Geeze. Makes me miss the days of affordable flagships you could buy outright easy.
I was excited to be back in the scene but it might have to wait until later when I have more of a reason for it.

You can just put a tmobile sim in a Sprint branded phone, it'll be fine. Go to a tmobile store and ask for tnx sim if you have everything paid off. Otherwise call sprint and get a tnx sim.
So I know this isn't the proper place but wanted to ask some opinions or maybe somebody can point me in the right place if needed got T-Mobile's OnePlus 9 didn't want purple box said silver opened it up yep it's purple!! Rep didn't know what to do so I took it home I'm going back thinking of switching to the pro but $75 I think restocking fee is it worth switching to the 9 pro. Any info and possibly reason to switch outside of purple would be appreciated thank you
Depends on what you use your phone for. You can look up the differences. Personally, the regular OnePlus 9 should be ok and you'd be better off waiting for the upcoming series before upgrading, but that's just a recommendation.
Hey guys, just wanting to make sure I understand the process. I haven't been rooting or unlocking a bootloader since android introduced their different pay apps and all major carriers started locking their bootloaders. So the OP post says you need to attain an unlocked sim to be able to get the unlock iem option. So then it would be needed for t-mobile devices that were purchased from one plus, right?

Question Is there a noob guide for rooting the Motorola G10?

So I bought myself the Motorola G10 phone just today and I'm interested in getting it rooted.
Is there a guide pasted somewhere for this phone? So I don't mess up my phone. There's Guides on Google but I don't trust any of them. Would prefer to get it from this forum.

You wouldn't happen to know a way to get the OEM part unlocked? I hear from google results and a couple of XDA threads that it's some sort of security feature and that it'll be unlocked within a couple of days but I'm kind of impatient. It's been about a day now and I really want to get this phone Rooted as soon as possible.
The oem part being grayed out is putting a halt on everything. I've already gone through the process on the motorola website to attempt to unlock the bootloader with the access key and my phone can be unlocked... but can't tick the oem box...

When my phone is on tho normally adb can detect it
You wouldn't happen to know why this is happening?
It doesn't detect it when I'm in fastboot.

Still can't get the above command to work tho.
If I try and unlock the bootloader the normal way I can't because oem is not enabled because it's grayed out and won't let me enable it

You have to wait something like 48/72 hours and OEM unlock option will "unlock", then you can proceed with fastboot oem unlock *code*. It was driving me crazy too, then I found out some people on Lenovo forums saying that it magically un-greyed out after some days, so I just waited 3 days and it was actually true. Unfortunately chinese phones have their own "particularities" when it comes to unlocking bootloader.

It's all good I got it.
I just downloaded a random build off that lolinet website from the RETEU folder > put the boot.img file onto my phone > ran magisk to patch it > then used adb to flash the magisk rom and that was it.
Ran root checker and it says I'm rooted so I did it!
Thanks for your help man.
It took me over an hour to figure out that tutorial of yours since it wasn't that clear but got it figured out at the end.
