I SCREWED UP!! Deleted the Zip file, internal storageand backups! - Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2, 10.1, 8.4 Q&A, Help & Trouble

Guys! I screwed up bad! An amateur mistake! After thinking about trying a rom, I factory resetted my device along with the internal storage where I stored my zip file and my backups.....now I have a SMT320 with no OS. Help?? Anything will do! I don't dare booting up my device as it will go in a bootloop or may even hard-brick.....I need some serious help here!

try using hotkeys (home+vol up + power,I think) to boot straight into recovery when the device is off.

Yeah, I can do that but my files aren't showing up.....all I did in the recovery was factory reset, wipe data, system and cache and then when I tried to install the rom, it didn't show up. I think It is because I formatted my ad card before for the device and pretty sure the rom is in that.....pls help

But my files are missing, read my last post

Connect it to a computer when in TWRP recovery. The internal memory should show up so you can transfer the zip file over.

dont worry. if you have twrp you can install install any custom rom.
download custom rom+gapps via opengapps. com to copy to your sd card.
put it in your sd slot in tab pro, boot in twrp, tick install, tick sd card storage, then install rom and gapps. done.
or you can flash official rom via odin. how to do it check forum or mail me to pm and i will help you step by step

Desire keeps on rebooting over and over

Hello there
I was about to flash a new Rom and before doing that I partitioned with Rom Manager the SD.
I also formatted the SD Card with Rom Manager.
From that moment on I was not able to restart into recovery mod any longer from Rom Manager.
I then decided to restart in bootloader to do a full wipe to factory reset.
From that moment on when I try to start the phone, I get stuch to the HTC Logo/Custom image logo and it keeps on booting over and over again.
I simply cannot access the phone. What can I do to fix that?
Thanks in advance
Update
I removed the battery for some time ( 30 mins) and was then able to reboot in bootloader. ( Power + back )
I headed to recovery but I am now stuck again with the phone and the red triangle...
I then use power+vol. + and get to system recovery but I just have:
-Reboot system now
- apply sdcard update.zip
- Wipe data/factory
- Wipe cache...
and nothing seems to work...
Any Idea?
Surely this is just because you wiped your memory card?
Yes I did. I am not 100% sure as I panicked a little bit probably and now I do not remember correctly but it was suggested a full wipe so I did it.
How can I now sort it out?
Did you copy the stuff from your sd card before you wiped?
Yes I did a nan back up and copied it all
Have you copied it all back? Just go to apply sdcard update.zip and the clockworkmod recovery shoud be there.
I could not copy it all back because after I started the whole process I could not access the phone anymore and even now, if I plug it to the PC it does not get recognized by it
okay download this:
http://koush.tandtgaming.com/recoveries/recovery-clockwork-bravo.zip
Put it on your sdcard. Then go to the recovery menu you were on and click apply sdcard update.zip and you have the old clockworkmod recovery. If you also put a rom on the sd card you will be able to flash it over and will get a new rom. That should fix the problem!
Ehi Taylor I tried what you suggested and it worked!
Thanks so much for your help, I really appreciate it!

stuck in recovery now what?

I updated clockworkmod recovery through rom manager. Rom manager said the install was successful. So then I boot into the recovery to flash the cyanogenmod 10 preview build. I do all my wipes data, cash, exe. Then I go to install the rom and I realize now with the new recovery I can’t install/restore anything from /extsdcard (external storage). It only has the option to install/restore from /sdcard (internal storeage) which would be fine except all my roms/backups are on my micro sdcard (external storage). I have already wiped everything so now I can’t boot my phone to fix it. Is there a way to install the old recovery after I have wiped everything. I was thinking about using Odin to flash the old recovery in download mode again (like I did when rooting) but I am not sure if this is ok to do. I tried mounting the internal storage to my pc to copy the files I need from my computer to my phone. When I plugged it in the box in the bottom right popped up and said installing drivers and they were successful but when I try mounting (anything) the computer does not recognize it. So I can’t transfer the files. Would someone who knows more than me give some advice please?

While youre in recovery, can you mount through the mounts and storage option? Im not on the recovery you are talking about but if you can mount it you can throw the rom on that way. If you cant do that you should be able to just boot up the rom thats currently on it and mount it that way. Just because you wiped everything doesnt mean that it wont boot up, it just cleared all of the data. It should load up with your previous rom.
Thank you very much. It gave me more insight on what was going on. I have my phone back up and working. I was able to flash the old recovery with odin and i hope this information will help someone else in future as well.

sorry bro was not able to get you earlier
u mean you have a rom zip on your internal in that case just enter recovery and hope u have rooted and stuff
Switch of your device press Vol up+home+power all at the same time and leave the power button once you see the samsung logo
now in recovery wipe data factory/cache/dalvik cahe and you are good to proceed flashing if you have an external sd then keep your zip in ext sd and do full wipe which will wipe your internal sd as well but not the external so if u have an external sd you can do a full wipe else just do the steps mentioned it will be fine
and if you have stock rom it is flashable via mobile odin please read this thread to understand everything http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1896696
what does your new rom state stock or custom

Really appriciate it. I am already runing on custom rom. I also have a new custom rom .zip file on internal sd (don't have ext. sd card) I change many roms, so I have a lot of unnecessary stuff in data. I would like to delete everything and then install new custom rom .zip file.
I am afraid of loosing new custom rom .zip file, twrp,... Is it possible to do it or I have to flash stock rom and then do the simple factory reset in settings?
Thanks

I have done this (or i think) I still have a lot of unnecessary folders. I installed new custom rom now. I am going to stick with it, but I still want to delete everything except rom that I am running on and other important stuff that makes this phone run.
Another help would be much apriciated. (step by step if possible)

It seems u want to get rid of all uneccesary junk so thats possible to be removed only if you do full wipe thats is u even have to wipe system that will delete everything of the last rom and even in internal but after that u need to mount ur storage from recovery and then transfer the zip of your rom and flash it .so u need to be sure that your recovery is able to mount internal sd , I blv I hv posted a super wipe link so u can even flash that that will erase evrything u wish to but mounting of card shd work to let u transfer the file of rom zip or the safest get a ext sd transfer the rom zip and after clean wipe install zip from external sd.
If your mount sd is working first try and check that connect ur phn to pc via usb and in recovery select mount sd if it shows then you are good to go and get what u need.
So the prob lies u want steps but I need surity if ur mount storage works if it does then just flash this file attached as I hope it has uploaded fine as I used my phn to do so .just flash the zip attached and it will wipe all on its own .mount sd transfer ur custom rom zip and selec t it to flash . U get what u want

I realy appriciate your work but still to fresh to understand. This mounting thing is driving me crazy. I will just go and buy the sd card, it's easy.
So what i could understand is that I put your posted zip file on my internal sd card and i put my custom rom zip file to external sd card. Is that 100% ok?
and when I do that, whats next? (sorry mate)

why are you so worried its a simple step
1. boot into recovery - u know how to do it
2. connect your phone to pc and now click mount and see if you find the option to mount sd as soon as u click it it will recognise the internal sd
3. thats said if it works you can move ahead - just select the flash zip u have kept in ur internal sd it will wipe everything and now u mount again and transfer the rom zip
4.you can proceed flashing the rom zip from internal sd. done!
5. if you have an ext sd card then place both wipe zip and rom zip in external and choose install zip from external sd and select wipe zip .it will run some codes on screen and everything is wiped out now the recovery will restart and now select the rom zip thats it.
note: its a simple stuff what i am trying to make u understand is that if u clean wipe then you loose all ,everything from internal storage so u need some rom zip to flash which u need in external or internal so u need to transfer that zip, if its in external it wont get wiped off so you dont need any mounting to be done.
before all do backup your efs for your safety . I hope you know that or must have gone through it.
or rather do some reading it will take an hour for you to go through everything in detail

[Q] Is there anyway to wipe internal SD Card and install a Rom?

Stock recovery wipes everything but TWRP preserves the "virtual" sdcard. There might (or might not) be some advanced option in TWRP to wipe the virtual sdcard, never looked.
Twrp has the wipe option, I knew that already. I wanted to find a way to use it and still be able to flash a rom. In any case I figured out how to transfer a file to the device with the ADB push command after getting adb to recognize the nexus. Will attempt all this in a couple of days.

I guess I don't understand what you mean then as by default twrp doesn't reset your virtual sdcard for a wipe, so whichever ROM update.zip files you had on the virtual sdcard would survive a wipe in twrp, so there would be no reason to copy them back over.
I guess maybe your question had nothing to do with wipe, and you were really asking how to transfer a custom ROM install file to the tablet so twrp can install it. You can do that using adb or mtp or just download the file using the browser on the tablet.
In advanced wipe there is a box for internal storage... and TWRP supports OTG so you can connect a flash drive formated to FAT32 that contains the Zip you wan't to flash and flash it like any other file.

This is what I mean. My virtual SD Card (data/media) is bloated with files I want to get rid of. So I wanted to wipe internal storage to clear all files and reinstall a rom. Using ADB or USB-OTG as iamezio says, I can transfer a rom zip back to the internal storage after wiping it to be able to install a rom. When I first made this post I wasn't sure how to do this.

Well, when you do a wipe from twrp, it is just removing all the files using a delete operation, which you can also do yourself.
The part of your question that seemed pertinent to me is you wanted TWRP to see your ROM file, which is the same question one would have if they asked how do I install a ROM.

twrp will wipe you internal storage with that option you saw in advanced settings. i actually did that one day by mistake and had to sideload the files to get back up and running. if that's what you are ready for, then go for it, it'll do it...

[Q] I have deleted the OS with cwm recovery and dont know how to get the OS back help

HELP!!!
I was trying to get all the files that are useless of off my sd card so i formated it in clockworkmod recovery and did not realize that i just deleted everything on the sdcard. And since i was just so clueless i went ahead and formated everything else that i could and then when i tried to reboot my device it takes me straight to the hboot menu. Is there any way i can get my OS back on to my device, i don't care about my files i just want the main OS back so i can use the phone again. And if you need any extra information please just ask in the comments and i will give you any info i can.
Thank You
If you can get to your recovery, go there. Then flash your ROM of choice.
how?

From the bootloader, choose recovery. If that is not an option, choose either fastboot or bootloader (whichever one is there), then choose recovery. If you don't have a ROM zip on your sdcard, mount the usb storage on your computer. Download the ROM zip on your pc, then place it on your sdcard. Unmount, then follow the instructions in the OP of your ROM thread, namely by flashing the zip. Then reboot into your new ROM.
i have clockworkmod recovery but im not sure how to flash the ROM because my sdcard has problems when i try to put files onto it.

If you have a bad sdcard, you can either transfer them to the internal 8gb memory (not sure, it's been awhile since I've messed with my inc), or you should really just get a new sdcard. You don't want a bad sdcard to start filling up with possibly corrupt app data and mess up the ROM.
i cant mount my sdcard with cwm recovery i can still get the device to connect to adb and fastboot

Note that internal 8gb memory does not mean the sdcard. Also, I'm not saying you can do this, because I can't remember. But if your sdcard is bad, you should replace it.
how do i know if the sdcard is bad though?
and how do i use the internal storage?
