I run mostly stock rooted s off and custom recovery thats all that has been done to the phone. Some time ago my display started to play it funnky from time to time searched in google mostly people say its happening to them cuz they are not using original charger i dont use original charger but i think for me is cuz the phone is dropped too many times but recently a dot started to apear on the screen its not a dead pixel sometimes the screen indicate if i press over the dont sometimes it doesnt any ideas about it ?

I've been having a problem with my xperia play screen over the last few days. Some times when I press the power button or the home key the screen stays black.
Today though I've rarely been able to get my phone screen on
I've got to the point now that my screen won't even come on. Even after flashing my phone again with a new firmware. Then when I tried to turn on my play the LED flashed 3 times but RED :O
I'm now charging it but when charging, the LED is permanently red.
Is my Play dead or is it something simple like my battery dying?

Hey its me, the same guy from the official sony post,
I tried flashing new firmware, but that didn't work. so i ended up relocking my bootloader and trying an official update service, but that didn't work. I had to send it off to the sony repair centre.
one week later I got my phone back: fully working. they reprogrammed the phone with stock .42 FW
so send it off to the repair centre!
one note though. i flashed official .62 fw and installed doomkernel, but the next morning the screen went off whenever i tried to open settings. after 3 times it didn't com on again. after leaving the phone alone for 20 mins the screen would turn on again (after rebooting) but i'm sending it off to the repair centre again.
too bad the phone isn't fixed, still...
-this problem ( black screen or delay to turn the screen on ) is happening on some custom roms , which rom do you use ?
- sometimes when you change the cpu governor it happens , for example when you set the "powersave" profile for screen off , or when you use interactivex on your CPU .
i'm sure that related to your rom , your phone is alive mate
or according to 3raserNL information
- another way is : just flash a ftf .54 , .62 ...

Hi, hello, i have posted about my phone two years ago, and now, as a tradition, my DHD gets stuck on boot screen and i cannot access to recovery. This happened because it started to show many dead pixels on the display and i left it few minutes without battery to see if they were gone...
Any sugestion about what i can do for recover it? The last two times i changed the pcb, but i am sick of change it...

Edit: now i can enter on recovery but only for about 15-20 seconds when is charging, i tried to put a rom but the screen goes black...

Solved! i tried to plug in the usb charger in the car and it worked

Hello guys,
For the second time i got a stuck in a random bootloop the first time i was insured and got a new one now i got the same problem with this one and i'm not insured anymore. Everytime this happened I was at a party with liquer but i cant seem to find out if it's water damage or not I disambled the g3 and found nothing so i leaved the disambled parts in rice for a day but that did nothing.. When ik plug it into the pc it get's recognized en goes into download mode and the screen works well it also goes in recovery mode. When the phone is off and i plug in a charger ik get a battery icon with a loading circle but it get's stuck everytime and the led doesn't turn on. I tried flashing it but there seems to be a problem with the drivers and the programs so it fails everytime so ik don't know if this is hardware or software problem.. one time before i tried flashing a new rom it loaded till the updating applications screen. can somebody help me out before I bring it to a repair shop and they charge me bull**** i'm getting crazy cause it's the second time this happened and i did nothing crazy??

Hello friends. recently my galaxy S3 stopped working while it was charging one day. here is what happend when it suddenly stopped working . I picked it up to send a message to a friend on facebook, after that i tossed my phone down on my pillow and i went back to doing what i was doing. about an hour or so went by and i decided to check my phone again to see if my friend replied. it was then i noticed that the phone was off for some reason. i thought that was kind of weird and just figured maybe it glitched out and just turned itself off or something. i attempted to turn the phone on and it did not respond, but for some reason when i shake the phone or something it would turn on. when its plugged into the charger it doesnt show the charging screen either. occasionally the red light at the top left corner of the device will light up like its charging but then it will turn off again and when it does turn on randomly it doesn't go past the samsung S3 screen when it is booting up. The phone is currently rooted as well but i dont think that has anything to do with my current issue. i just took the phone apart right now to check the motherboard to see if anything was wrong with it or maybe it was dirty ect and when i put the phone back together i actually got it to charge for a moment but i couldn't get it to turn on. ive looked up some videos on youtube about this issue but i couldn't find any info really about it.
so to be clear these are the things i have tried
1. tried to boot it into download mode and recovery mode with no luck.
2. checked to see if it was a hardware issue and everything looked ok.
3. swapped batteries still with no luck.
i dug a little deeper after posting this thread and found out my issue could be what is called SDS (sudden death syndrome) the one thing i didnt find out is if im completely screwed and need a new phone or not. i took it down to my local samsung store here in L.A. and they already turned me down because the phone was rooted and they could tell it was because my phone has a different bootup then normal.
so if anyone could help me out that would be awesome and i would be super grateful. thanks in advance

Hi there, first of all I've seen some other threads which kind of have the same problem but not quite. So here is my problem my touch screen isn't responding most of the time, it started happening like a week ago when it froze while trying to send a picture in messenger, after 1-2 reboots it started working again but after that the same thing happened while I was typing in messenger, so I thought it might be software problem and made hard reset and installed new stock android(that didn't help). The last couple of days most of the time it's not working and I'm using it with a mouse, but there are periods when it works for some time. I've entered the hidden menu(without updating the touch firmware because I saw that it might kill it for good) to try and test it and had 2 different results
- The touch screen firmware version on my phone is -1
- And the one from the photos that I've attached(obviously during this one it actually worked for a couple of minutes)
Something else I've noticed while the touch isn't working when I turn off the screen from the power button first it dims the light for 2 seconds before really turning off.
Other things that I've tried are changing kernel, opening the back of the phone and reconnecting the screen to the motherboard(which helped the first time and it worked for 1 day or so but doesn't help since then) .
There is one more strange thing for some time now may be 3-4 months the phone has problems connecting to WiFi)
And one last thing after the screen problem the phone started booting quite slow some times and showing "Process System Not Responding'"
The phone is running on Stock V30b MM and hasn't been dropped for a long time
The problem is that I don't know is it software problem, screen problem or motherboard so any Ideas will be appreciated.
