Can a custom or non-stock PRL be written or flashed to this phone anymore?
I'm wondering the same? Using MOAR and updated to the most recent prl and firmware, then my lte suddenly stopped. Tried lte priority in data mode, tried to Odin to ok1 stock tar, nothing works. Network mode is on cmda/lte and access point is apn2 lte with roaming off. Thinking it's either the prl or just an outage! If I do a carrier reset on MOAR, after it resets, I get the activation menu and a pop-up message appears with a internal error 106. It does activate correctly if I'm on a stock rom!
I do believe that you can.. It is you nee a modified IOTHHIDDENMENU with PRL write enabled. .

Ok guys, i need some help... my profile/prl update has not worked for a long time, i get error code 4 (contact customer service). i assumed this was simply an issue with the ROM i was using however i flashed everything back to stock with odin. I am running stock everything with the latest FG01 modems. I still could not update my profile or prl.
So i thought maybe something was messed up in my programing so i ##RTN ed the device... now it wont activated at all... i get the same error code when trying to activated. So now i have no data/voice or text.
Anyone have any ideas on what i am missing?

I had this issue ...
Fix: when updating both Prl and profile make sure you're on Wi-Fi. Period. If you are not it won't update.
So if you want simply flash the ROM u like, sign in to Google and let it update .the manually update both prl and profile. Again on WiFi.
I was on CM10.1 and I wiped data/cache and installed CM10. I was in a roaming area at the time and when my phone booted my phone told me that it needed to be activated? It would not work since there was no data. So I Odin'd the latest stock ROM and activated it when I got home however it is stuck on verizon for some unknown reason. The PRL is 0 and I tried manually putting a sprint PRL on the phone using DFS, but it never sticks. Can someone help me please?

Someone mentioned that putting it in airplane mode and then turning off airplane mode helped them get off verizon, however this was only when they had used a PRL that gave them verizon roaming so it may/may not work for you
Were you using a PRL that gave you verizon roaming while in that "roaming area" you mentioned?
If you are still on TouchWiz dial ##72786# and see if that fixes the problem.
Check the PRL thread in development, flash the sprint one using a TW based ROM.

Hi.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 T999 model on carrier T-mobile. Lately the phone has gone nuts and will get stuck on dialing out and will never make the call. Everything else works fine. Sometimes I have to soft reset, pull the battery and that will fix it for a call or two, then it will get stuck again. I have contacted T-mobile about this over 5 times and none of them can help. We tried to change the sim, reset the account. Etc and nothing. I have reset the cache, factory reset and even put in a good working sim card from another phone and the same problem comes up. During my latest troubleshooting I have narrowed it down to where I switch "network mode" to GSM only and that can make calls out all the time, but the data stays on E (which then I can't use the internet because it's so slow) When I switch back to auto I am sometimes able to place calls again, but only a few. After I test a few calls and leave the phone for a few minutes the phone will get stuck back on not making calls out and just saying "dialing".
Has anyone had the same problems or know of a fix? Currently I have been trying to flash the modem to different versions to see if that fixes the problem. The first two modems I have flashed did not work and came up with "unknown baseband".
If anyone can help I greatly appreciate it.
This is a known issue with 4.3.. What firmware are you on? Assuming you flashed the correct baseband for your device, the 'unknown baseband' message sounds like you are in 4.3 but what build? You can't flash any modems successfully less than 4.3

I was previously on 4.1.2 when the problem first started. I updated it to 4.3 and still the same problem.
jss15j.t999uvuenc2 build. (I put this one back on last night so at least I can use the phone today when I am at work)
I was just hoping that the device didn't go bad when it was on 4.1.2 because it was working just fine before the problem started.
Was it official update to NC2 by OTA/Odin or you just flashed a ROM?

NC2 was OTA. After doing some searches it said that OTA could of been corrupt, so I went and downloaded KIES and did a reinstall that way.
When I upgraded to 4.3 I tried that default baseband out and had the same problems. That is when I was searching on google and came across this forum and also the thread about flashing modems.
What APN (Access Point Name) are you on ? Also what is your Preferred Network Type set to ? Its located in Settings > More I think.(I don't use Stock Firmware)

APN is epc.tmobile.com
Network Mode current set to GSM (the only way I can make calls out without the problem occuring)
WCDMA/GSM (Auto Connect) is what it should be on so my data is at 4G, but the calls is the problem here
I am not sure but can you check the settings of the Dialer to see if there is ways to choose Lookup providers ?

Nope don't see anything in the dialer about selecting a provider..
Its supposed to be something about Choose Lookup Providers. At least that's the way it is on AOSP.
I suggest Odin flashing the stock NC2 firmware and then factory resetting from stock recovery. (Backup first of course!) If it is still an issue, it will most likely be a hardware problem. From what you have said so far, I believe that you will find this to be the case. Could've been due to damage from a drop, or even overheating at some point. Or it could just be that its simply due to hardware degradation over time.
Hello,
Just bought s Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II SPH L900 and loaded SuperUser + CWM Recovery + GAPPS + Snapshot M9 and now Phone Info shows
Android Version - 4.4.4
Baseband - L900VPUCNE2
Build - cm_l900_userdebug 4.4.4 KTU84Q
PRL 2026
I have service thru. RingPlus hat uses Sprint network. Their user name that they use with sprint is like
[email protected] .
I am unable to connect to any data network now and I have also lost the UPDATE NETWOR and/or UPDATE PRL options that used to be in Stock ROM for SPH L900. Can somebody help me explain how do I update the PRL and Data Services on this phone. Even the ##DATA# or ##MSL# etc. . do not work anymore. I'm not getting any 3G/EVDO/LTE/4G or any other data services on it.
Please help me get data on this phone.

Thanks.. OK.. did that. Reverted back to stock NE2 and still no data. I'm on ringplus which is a MVNO with Sprint. Tried doing all ##MSL#, ##DATA#, ##SCRTN#, ##786# etc.. combos but nothing worked. There's a special Ringplus related APN file in zip format containing the XML file that has APN entries for Ringplus but I don't know how to load that into stock. I tried putting in the entries manually but it doesn't really work that way and moreover the entries get overwritten when the system does a PRL Update and/or Data Services update etc..
Any idea as to how can I make this phone work with ringplus service for data? Phone calls go thru. fine. Does anybody know how can I find what modem is my phone using ?
Edited - Asked RingPlus to put my ICID on their side, did PRLUpdate and Profile Update and that brought 4G/LTE on my phone. However there should be some way to do PRLUpdate through custom ROM as well. Isn't it ?
Sprint S3: Can't update PRL or Profile to get data access. "Session in progress"
I can't get data access on my Spring Galaxy S3. I've been told I'd need to update the PRL and Profile in system updates, but everytime I try, it says "session in progress." I've tried leaving the phone on wifi only, only on data, switching to CDMA(3G only). Tried factory resetting, doing an MSL reset as well. As soon as I boot the phone on, this "system update..." prompt shows up in my notifications, I can go to "App info" and it's listed under "Samsung DM service version 1.6.49."
If anyone knows of a way for me to force the PRL update through or get past this "session in progress" which has been active for 3 days now, I'd be eternally grateful.
Factory resetting phone via through the device only deletes data / cache
Try PC ODIN back to stock, this method wipes and flashes ROM, Kernel, Bootloader, Modem.
Stock tar here for Sprint KK ( This is a One Click, you don't need a PC Odin )
Stock tar here for boost/vm

Thank you so much! The notification completely disappeared! I can now access 4G LTE with no problems!
Fantastic to hear that. I'm glad I helped.
