Long press "back" button to kill apps - HTC 10 Questions & Answers

Hi everyone!
Back in the One S days, i found a zip to flash that gave me the ability to have the "long press back button to kill app" function on Maximus HD rom. Is there anyone that did this also for the 10? I really miss this function!
Thanks in advance!
Nicola

Check out the ROMs forum, I remember seeing some that had that feature. Else there is also ButtonMapper app in the play store from the awesome flar2 (might cost a couple bucks for the pro version)

Viper10 has it.
Or you could visit this thread for an apk that does it for you.

[Q] No reject button on lockscreen using RSK team 5.0 rom with amaze cam

Hi,
I installed RSK team 5.0 rom on the Desire. Everything works fine and I'm very impressed by the rom ('cause I tried some others but this one works fastest, no lags and just a few FC but nothing unsolved).
However I experienced a problem that is not that big, but annoying. When I have a call and the phone is locked I don't have reject button (see attached pic). I tried reflashing the rom, tried changing skins, lockscreens etc, but always the same. Function works fine and I can reject a call.
Any ideas how to fix this issue?
Thanks in advance!!!

Here is the link.

Also, I'm using cm7r2 hboot, noted rom with generic a2sd (not a2sdx).
Never had the same problem with other roms.

Also, I didn't flash "Fix wallpaper view in panel mode" (tried but had multiple issues, it fixed view but screwed up different things like weather app and caused freezes while connected to PC).
Now you 10 posts and should be able to post your question directly in the ROM's thread.

Just Google "JoyOS".
Btw thanks for this another port, but are there many FCs with the Play Store? If I can't install my apps, it's useless for now.
Please fix everything in the rom that don't work. I really want to install the rom but I need that everything will work.
Gotta love disclaimers. Thank you for your efforts. Will skip it though, too iphonish to my liking.

Play Store FCs every time you try to open an app's page. For now uninstall the Play Store and use the unupdated Market, or try and see if it's a problem with my phone.

First CyanogenMod rule also applies here: no ETAs.
I am doing my best to make this port be perfect, as of now, everything, except a little option in the power menu and the Play Store(but it can be worked around). Try it, you can always flash something else if you want

Despite your work, the autorotate problem in Messaging app is still here. That's basically the only app in which I use it. Thanks anyways

Use Handcent. Autorotate works there. Will include it in Alpha6.
You know when you will release a update with all the fixes?
Im on ICS rom now, and I need to install stock rom and then install this rom and if will be problems with the rom I will need again to move to ICS rom and all this process is annoying.
Also, Im very appreciate your effort

Sir, you sure can't read. And no need to explain the whole process to switch ROMs. If you're not satisfied with all this, I recommend you to make your own ROMs.
You're the third noob porting JoyOS after this noob guide http://www.blindndumb.com/2012/05/guide-how-to-port-joyos-to-your-device.html to our device. I'm sure you don't even no what you're doing. And everybody thinks you can build a ROM :banghead:.

*cough cough* I clearly stated in the 1st post that I'm not a dev. I know what I'm doing: I'm taking i9000's CM7 and switching the framework, the apps, SystemUI, libs and so on with those from JoyOS.
Anyway I ported the ROM based on that guide, it's true. So what? I made this for personal use, then decided to release on XDA. The other 2 ports have more bugs than this. On one of them you can't even end a call!
Also, I am working to fix the bugs on this port with my still limited experience. If you don't like what I do, then /ignore me and GTFO.

Has anyone tried this mod on an HTC One with a 4.2.2 ROM ?
I think this is one of the MOST useful options, but unfortunately there are not many (only 1) Sense based roms offering this feature...

How about you show some education and don't flood the threads with useless comments ??
I was JUST asking if someone had tried it... nothing else.
I apologize for my lack of an education. I woke up one day knowing how to read and write. What an awesome day that was.

Would love this mod too, gave it a flash but my device won't boot, even tried editing the classes.dex file but really have no idea what I'm doing and don't have a pc to grab a logcat at the moment... Sorry I can't be of any help.

By the way, I just found out yesterday that the new Viper ROM actually has it in its Tweaks. I don't know if there's a flashable zip file around, but I'd ask the developer if he would have time to make one if that's okay with him.
i dont understand you guys...
i have a new htc one from t-mobile germany, but without branding or simlock, only a few t-mob ringtones are installed...
my one is not rooted, unlocked or something similar... everything is stock.
in my device the LONG PRESS BACK TO KILL APP is working normaly!
try to push and hold the back button with the hole thumb...

Are you sure ?
This feature is definitely not available on stock rom, and only 1 stock based custom rom has it (Renovate rom, which i tried downloading but servers were down, so i flashed Trickdroid with 4.2.2 instead). But it's available on almost all aosp based roms. Once AOSP roms for the One start being really stable for daily use, i won't even think of having a sense based rom again.
yes of course iam sure.
in my note2 this was an flashable zip mod,
but in my htc one this is stock possible! thats because iam so wondered after i read that for this is a mod...

I've tried for over 1 week to do this (when making DarkSense One ROM) and I couldn't do it, E.Cadro also tried and can't either - we are both experienced with smali.
If you want this so bad then flash Viper. They are only able to do it because m0narx intercepts all button calls then sorts them out in his own files (VenomButtonsManager), bypassing the calls already in the existing android.policy.jar files.

Ok, I did a clean install using Philz recovery. After I set up the WiFi, I never got the part where I enter my google account. I got the part where I check the middle box, then click no at bottom, I got asked about the Samsung account, which I skipped, and then desktop came up. Never even got the previous used device.
I never ran into a rom that didn't have me sign into Google and show the device that was last used and a list of apps to restore before, so this is new to me.
I found a way to enter my Google account, and now have to manually find the aps I had before, but so far this looks great. Just not used to installing this way.

I know that you are not asked to set up your Google account on first boot.. I think that is better in this way because when a Google account is set up on boot, happens that apps that I haven't used for a long time are restored on my device and then I have to uninstall them manually.. Got it? I think that the same is for you.. With the latest Play Store you can make a list of apps and you can install all them at the same time
