The notifications on my s6 stopped working suddenly. I made sure to double check all the usual stuff. One thing though, the phone still vibrates when I do get a push notification. The phone is NOT on vibrate. Anyone out there have any clue on how to fix this? I know that probably everyone on here is 10x smarter than me, please help.
I finally found out what my problem was.

That's good. But for future reference, do not create two threads within the duration of at least six months on the exact same topic as your other thread. One thread is enough. It's a lot easier for yourself and everyone wanting to help you if you stick to one thread. Glad you got it resorted tho.

I'm hoping that someone can help me with my wifes phone. I recently flashed the "update-cm-7.1.0-Supersonic-signed" file and everything has been running fine. Well today she brings me the phone and had 2 things going...wrong. First the entire screen was strobe light flashing but a reboot fixed that. The other thing is that in the upper right hand there is constant, changing lines of text. They will say things along the lines of 2.54/2.25/xxx, under that system_server and then com.android.xxx. Will be anywhere from 3 lines to 6 and they change every 3 seconds. It's an HTC Evo 4g with running CM7.1.0 with the 2.6.37.6-cyanogenmod-01509-g8913be8 kernel.
I figure that I can always reflash but she's just got it set up and she doesn't really care for change lol. If anyone can try to help me I would greatly appreciate it.

Your comment on showing processing got me thinking and I finally found the problem. Somehow under developer settings, show running processes had gotten checked as well as show screen updates (I'm assuming that that was the strobe flashing as it did it again when I checked it). I unchecked it and all seems to be well again. Thanks for your time lreyes as I'm still learning how to work on unlocked phones.
BTW, can I change the forum location of this or does a mod have to do it. If it's a mod, would one of you be so kind as to either move or delete? I just really started using these forums and am trying to learn the ins and outs so please bear with me. Once again, thanks a lot.
Only mods can move/lock/delete

So has anyone found out if the touch screen issue is a software issue or a hardware? Is LG going to offer a fix or are they ignoring the issue? I have a Sprint LG G4 and the touch issues get quite annoying. I've been reading up on the issue and have tried everything but I still get miss touches.
I love the phone but hate this imperfection it has.
On a side not...when I get a text the phone vibrate (whatever vibrate setting I have it on) then it stops and my audible notification sounds. It does not happen simultaneously...is this normal?
More touch screen issue thread? Any reason why you couldn't post over at the many other thread?
You wanted your own special thread?

not really I just have not seen any in the sprint section so I was trying to see if any other sprint users have the problem...Ill I see is verison.
It might sound weird (as I also thought it was before I tried it) but the way I got mine to correct this issue was by doing a factory reset (just from the phone settings, not a KDZ or anything). Since doing it my phone has been MUCH more responsive and has not been lagging out or miss-touching or anything.
Factory reset solves all issues.

It solves lots of issues, not sure why people are hesitant to do it.

Factory reset didn't fix it for me
Tomorrow I'm going into the T-Mobile store to see if they have any G4's present that do not have the problem and hope they will swap, if so.

Sorry man, Really wish it would have worked for you (It seems to have worked for quite a few people on here). Hopefully they will let you pull the old switch-a-roo then since this is clearly a defect.
What touch screen issues are you having? You need to elaborate. A video would also help. I've had my Sprint G4 for about a month now and I don't know what these "touch screen issues" are that everyone is complaining about.
This problem occurs in all variants -
http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/general/poll-g4-misses-unresponsive-to-touch-t3131276
I've been able to replicate this issue on my G4 (815T Australian model) on a daily basis, just on the instagram app though.
I recorded a video of it. Slowmo part shows the issue
https://goo.gl/photos/F823e125PQckCPLp6
The screen seems confused and it just scrolls the other way even if my thumb wasn't touching the screen.
Factory data reset did not fix anything.
Are you able to replicate this LG G4 owners?
I don't use Instagram, so can't help with that app, sorry.
But if you go into Developer Options, and turn on "Show touch data", it might help add some more info to the discussion. It will show a trace on the screen of what the phone's touchscreen interpreted from your last tap/swipe.
It would presumably show a swipe up, and then back down, when you're getting these ghost touches that change the scroll direction. But perhaps it could also help show if swipes are interpreted the same way in other apps. It might help you learn a little more about what the phone is seeing, at least.
Thanks for the video and everything but why a new thread? Plenty of videos on the main thread.
Is another thread really necessary?

Might be, because this only happens with IG. I've got the exact same problem, only with IG and its very annoying.

Apologies, first time I posted it I was thinking it was just Instagram-specific.

To me it looks like it is IG specific because I don't have this problem with any other app
You can try to change the touch feedback time from short to medium under settings/accessibility/motor & cogination. This will reduce the touch feedback time. Give it a try, and see if it gets better.

Question, do you have Google keyboard installed? Because I just removed Google keyboard and installed SwiftKey and it looks like the problem is gone....

Interesting. Not keen on rooting though. =\
So you reckon it's just a software issue?

Well this problem is only related to the LG G4 and IG for me...I don't have any other touchscreen problems with this phone. So for me I guess this is not hardware related. During the day I just had 2 small "ghost touches", way better than before. Will see how it goes the next few days...
Edit :
after a view days, it looks like it didn't solve this issue. Today I notice the ghost touches were there again in IG
Force GPU rendening under Developer options somewhat helped.
The new v10f on my Australian G4 didn't fix the issue as well.
Any updates on this? I had same issue. N this is a replacement unit after 2.5 weeks of waiting
Just day one and this ghost touch come up.
I also have this problem
Did you solve the problem?
I am facing similar issue.between...i am not using ig.
I've had this issue as well (not just IG) and sent the phone back for servicing. It was sent back to me with a report showing that they'd done a few things but the problem is still there. I'd been thinking I'd send it back in once more and ask them to have another look. I'm getting ghost touches everywhere and quite a bit, it's very annoying.
Someone mentioned there was another, large thread about this issue but I can't seem to find it, can anyone point me to it?
Hi, I posted this in a new thread yesterday as I couldn't find anything. Never thought to search for 'ghost taps' duh.
Every now and then when just doing normal things on the my phone it totally freaks out and all by it self it suddenly starts to tap random parts of the desktop, slides the pages, opens apps, closes apps, goes into calculator and a bunch of buttons are pressed randomly. It's almost like someone has hacked my phone and is trolling me by just tapping randomly on the phone.
Just today when looking at Facebook it closed the app, scrolled down notifications, data was turned off and wifi turned on.
I thought it might have been my screeen protector, bit of moisture in it or something. Took that off and still does it. Took out the battery for a minute and still does it.
It happened a few months ago then nothing for ages and now it's started again this weekend.
Thought it might have been only when connected to data but has now done it when offline.
Any one got a solution? Does a custom rom fix?
I had this problem on Pure Nexus and now I'm having the same problem on stock 7.0. I'll miss notifications and check my phone later and the notifications will be muted (there's a line through the bell, see screenshot.) I haven't changed anything in the Do Not Disturb settings, there are no automatic rules turned on. I don't know if some app is controlling this or what is happening.
I've never experienced this and I know this sucks but I'd factory reset if you can't figure out what's going on and see if that makes it stop.. That's just me. I format data in twrp every now and then just to make a clean start on my device and it's like having a brand new phone. :silly: Maybe someone else can chime in and knows about what could be causing this. Sorry I can't be of more help. Hope you get it resolved soon.

I'll consider trying that if I can't find some other solution. But this is a replacement, refurbished phone that I just got from Google last week and it was doing this from the start(so, it was already reset.) I'm trying to determine if some app is causing. I thought Android Wear might be doing it, but uninstalled it for a few hours and it still happened.
I am not entirely sure if I'm tripping, but I seem to be missing phone calls pretty damn often. I think I recall at one point I randomly grabbed my phone to have it by me and noticed that someone was calling me but it wasn't ringing at all, though the screen did light up. I made sure my settings do have have "Do Not Disturb" mode on. I have the CPH2451 and running stock with latest OTA A.10 update. After doing a brief Google search, I see that OnePlus has had issues in the past but those are from the OnePlus3 and OnePlusNord so I am not sure if that's still relevant in this day and age.
Anyone experiencing something similar or have any clues as to what might be going on?
Edited: Fat fingered the model #. Fixed.

This might be obvious to you, so just ignore if you know this.
When holding your phone in your hand like you're texting in portrait mode, there's a switch top right and on side of phone.
Adjust the switch so it's down.
Ive experienced this, even after swapping to 2449.
Seems theres a couple settings that revert on reboots for some odd reason.
Just go into the phone app settings, notifications and reset thr ring tone and all set after 2 times doing it ... annoying?? damn right!... but at least its fixable ....

That's so dumb... The more I use this phone, the more I get buyer's remorse.
I haven't restarted my phone since I got it I think but I'll try that and see if the issue persists. Thanks!
Edit: Any word if OnePlus is aware of this and plans on fixing it? If not, perhaps I should forward this to them.

don't know if they are aware. just to add to the weirdness of it... for me... after the second time, the setting sticks...
i have this problem with my 8 pro, the phone doesn't ring and i think it goes straight to VM? seems like something broke with one of the latest OP updates?
There's no such version as CPH2541.
And here it works perfectly. Factory reset and try again.
