Cyanogenmod 14.1 Camera, Rotation, Proximity sensor not working - Nexus 5X Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi there,
I have cyanogenmod 14.1 update 20161217, and I've been having an issue since I updated to 14.0. Like I said in the title, my camera says it can't connect, my phone won't rotate, and the proximity sensor isn't working. Does anyone know if these are normal bugs that will be fixed later, or it's just an isolated case?
Any help is much appreciated.

Autobrightness and accelerometer not working

Hi all, This is not getting exposure on the AT&T help forums so i thought i'd try here
I had been on CM12 for a while and at some point, not sure exactly when, my accelerometer stopped working, it would not autorotate landscape when holding the phone that way, all my photos were saved in the wrong direction etc. I also noticed that autobrightness completely stopped working.
I recently flashed the new stock based rom that is on the android development section thinking it was a AOSP or CM based bug, but I still am unable to get those things to work. It is very frustrating. If i try to calibrate the accelerometer, it closes out in settings instantly.
Anyone know what I can do to fix this?

[Q] Proximity and Light Sensors Issue

On RS1 (Lumia 730) I had the problem of sensors not working (auto brightness didn't work, ...) occasionally and restarting the device could fix it, although subsequent updates mitigated the problem.
But since upgrading to RS2, proximity and light sensors stopped working. It seems that the OS doesn't know they do exist! I tried various sensor apps (e.g. SensorInfo) and they didn't show these sensors.
Is there any known solution for this problem? Can be solved through registry?
Update: It solved by itself, though reappeared several times for short periods.

Xiaomi Mi5 proximity sensor died

So, I've moved to LineageOS with my Mi5 at lineage-14.1-20170620-nightly-gemini and everything was fine.
About a week ago I've updated to lineage-14.1-20170704-nightly-gemini and all worked well still.
But yesterday proximity sensor on my phone gone wild: it stopped to work in all situations, but started to work wrong for WhatsApp: if I press play on voice message, screen goes off and WA plays message in main speaker (top one).
Right now I've updated firmware to this (Developer 7.7.6 Firmware from https://forum.xda-developers.com/mi-5/development/tool-flashable-firmware-twrp-easy-t3474898) and updated lineageOS to lineage-14.1-20170711-nightly-gemini but it didn't help.
Proximity sensor now looks completely dead: tried Sensor Box app from GoolePlay and it permanents shows 5.000305. Proximity sensor doesn't work during any calls, etc.
I found some topics with similar issue on Mi5 on miui forum, and sensor calibration seems to solve this issue on stock MIUI, but can't find any info about how to calibrate sensor on lineageOS.
Requesting any assistance, and especially from @bgcngm and @h2o64.
Thanks
Same problem here. Have you found any solution?
Best,
g.

proximity sensor calibration

Anyone else experiencing proximity sensor issues with the SM-A520 (A5 2017) either with stock ROM or Lineage OS 14.1 ROM? Since flash over to Linage 14.1 (from stock), the screen does not reliably go, or remain, black when held up side your face while on an active call. Cheek touches result in inadvertent button pushes. Downloaded an app for that and it re-calibrates the phone each boot (non-rooted). Now the proximity sensor works quite well.
Anyone else having the issue?
Any better "answers" than a non-rooted third party app.
Kind regards,
/S
I have the same issue. A5 2018 Oreo Stock ROM but as far as my memory serves me right the issue occured on Nougat as well. It looks like the proximity sensor is too sensitive... is there any tool so that we could calibrate it without any third parties? What solution works for you, s2scotty?
