There are lakhs of users using HTC M8 Eye.. There is no major difference between M8 and M8 Eye..Only Camera Megapixel is the difference...So it won't be difficult to Port ROM from M8..
I request any Dev to think about it and build ROM for HTC M8 Eye..I will provide the System dumb file if needed..And I Will test the ROM in my device and Assist U in developing...
And I request all the M8 Eye users comment here and Request Dev to get Custom ROM for our device.

Is there any way to tweak any of the custom ROMs to be able to use them on the M8 EYE? Or do they actually work just like that without any tweaks.
There really isn't much info available on the M8 EYE modding.
You can't use M8 ROM on M8 EYE without porting. You need ROM developer or ROM modder who has a M8 EYE for that unfortunately there is none.
The best is make your own mod.

Funny thing is, ViperOneM8 now supports the Desire Eye unofficially.

Yeah.. SkyDragon too since last 3 released versions and next is S.Rom because the same ROM developer/modder get involve on these.
Unfortunately Desire EYE & M8 EYE are two different device.
I there any way we can flash and use M8 roms on desire eye as I Think they are quite similar devices, I wanted to flash Resurrection Remix v5.7.1 for the One M8 on my Desire Eye.

I'm not a newbie but still not a 'developer' I barely made ROMs. I'm willing to give my time to port cyanogenmod or at least an AOSP that can base to the rest of the AOSP roms. What are the steps mainly?
M8 is actually very similar with our device, what are the modifications needed to make the base rom from M8 work?

I too asked @xxooperminixx same qsn about porting m8 CM ROM to our eye......
But she told that it also might need SSD and takes more time...
I love everything about my Desire EYE except its lack for ROMs. I had Galaxy S3 before it which is an old device from 2012 yet it has every ROM you can imagine to date! It has Cyanogenmod MM since MONTHS. @xXminiWHOOPERxX is an awesome developer, she gives much of her time and effort to port ROMs to our device, but she can't have all of the development alone. That's too much on a single person. If she can teach both of us how to port from M8 AOSP ROMs and post kernels for Sense and GPE roms to complete her guide the device now has at least three developers working on the device.
I'd love to learn porting Roms and test them as well.

First Im not a dev but does have little knownledge .
There are no ROMS for htc M8 EYE variant.
So i thought of building myself using lollipop kernel sources from htc dev. Ultimately failed because i was unable to compile bootable recovery ( Doesnt matter i have ported TWRP 3.2 from htc desire eye )
Then thought of building rom using HTc m8 device tree with some changes. I failed there too.
So i gave up on building rom from source.Then i ported a MM rom from htc m8 to htc m8 eye. I was shocked because it booted.
But bugs like wifi , no camera made me give up after trying to solve them for a week..
I dont know much about these things but htc m8 things work on eye variant too..
So please devs SHOW YOUR CHARM. Making rom for this variant woundnt be that difficult for you guys.
I can test and give you logs and everything..but cant afford a phone for u

Won't be done. There is almost no development on the standard stock sense roms. So no, this will be a definete no go !
