Unlock screen bug - Moto Z Play Questions & Answers

Hi to everyone
After the latest update which was the security patch from october, my Z Play has a Bug. Locking screen was set to unlock from fingerprint or pin code. After the update screen can be unlocked just simply swiping it or with fingerprint. Do someone know how this problem can be fixed? It is really awkward. Thanks

Do you have on body detection active?
I thought that this is serious bug, but I completely forgotten that I had activated OBD which can activate phone if it "sense" that it is in your hands...

It's not enabled anything like that in settings.
And it can be unlocked by anyone, at least 2 of my college mates without anything enabled by/for them.

I have same problem !!
So what to do ? After a restart it works then fails

Alternative to s2s (sweep2sleep) on Lollipop

Hi there!
I am about to upgrade to Lollipop, two good months after it's officially out for our M8s. Unless I missed something, the wonderful s2s module seems to be discontinued and I am desperately looking for an alternative.
There are a lot of apps around that let you lock the screen reacting to gestures or just by launching them, but all of them are implemented by using the "Lock screen" device administrator, which literally locks the screen. This means that if you need your phone 10 seconds later, you have to unlock with your pattern or PIN again. This seems to be because of an intentional restriction in Android, and I couldn't find any root application circumventing it.
I found this Xposed module, but people write in the thread that it doesn't work with Xposed for Lollipop.
Does anybody have a better solution? Did you all give up the possibility of sleeping your phone with a gesture without locking it?
On body detection works good for that. Phone won't lock if you set a pin until you place it down for a few minutes.

Cool, I didn't know of this feature! Thanks!
But does this really solve the problem? If an app with device administrator permissions explicitly locks the screen I guess it will be locked anyway, won't it?

Touch screen not working intermittently when screen lock is not setup

I have this issue where when I unlock my screen, the touch screen is unresponsive with finger input. S-pen works fine, and all other buttons (volume, home, back, recent apps) works fine too. Just the finger touch stops working.
This issue happens when I unlock my screen 3rd or 4th time. In other words, if I unlock my phone first two times, it works fine but on 3rd or 4th time it will give me this issue. I have to lock and unlock the phone again with power button in order to get it working again.
Interestingly, this issue only happens when I don't have any screen lock setup. If I have any PIN, pattern lock or even swipe to unlock setup, the issue doesnt happen. I suspect that there is some bug with Firmware where it is waiting for the unlock to happen even when no screen lock is setup.
Anyone experiencing the same issue? Any solution for this?
Bump - I have the same issue, and cannot find a fix anywhere.

First unlock sometimes requires both, but future unlocks should only require fingerprint. I don't know what is wrong with your system.
Juat avoid using third-party screen-off apps to lock/turn off the screen.

WW-16.0631.1910.44 - why isnt anyone talking about the major bug?

WW-16.0631.1910.44 officially came out this week, i wonder why no one is talking about it! Its got a major major bug, at random times when you unlock your device, it will unlock but not respond to your touches. I have noticed this with face unlock at the moment. I updated yesterday, and have faced thi like every 5 out if 10 times while the device detects my face to unlock.
Is it a bug? Or am i just too ugly? ?

I always use face unlock and I do not have this issue.
I can confirm that, already posted on ASUS forums. Disabling unlocking via fingerprint "fixes" the issue for now.
I never had this issue, I've been with this version for a long time and always used fingerprint unlock.
1910.63 CN is out and fixes this issue so lets hope the WE version gets released soon if not today

i think no, because ww is have beta (android 10) this week
For me face unlock working just fine.
happened only once to me after updating and wasn't sure what to make of it so thank you for reporting it
I updated to 10.44 recently but haven't faced this issue. Do you have the fingerprint enabled as well? I only use face unlock by the moment.
Same issue here. Yes fingerprint is enabled and so is face recognition. Seems to happen when a call is received as well. Cannot answer the call either then.
I experienced 2 or 3 times before and I had to restart my phone. Hoping the new OTA fixes the issue

I have the same issue. Using single sim and wifi, suddenly it all disconnects for some seconds. However it didn't happen today. Dunno if that's caused by the recent update, or the fact that I forced 2G only mode via external app as there is no such option in network settings.

Do you mean the setting in display - accidental touch protection?
This will only work when it's very dark ... like in a pocket.
Best to use a secure unlock method such as password, pin or biometric.
I also experience this issue. And actually an that specific scenario. Wvery time I put my phone in my pocket. It turns on and the first thing that press is the widgets in the lockscreen. I notice when my leg is really hot. I gotta say it's annoying
