Hello there:
I am looking for an application that can do the same thing that I was able to accomplish with MyModes when I had the MyTouch 4G which is change the phone profile based on Time, Location, Manual, etc. I have found quite a few 'phone profile' apps on the Play Store but none can do what MyModes can (that or I haven't figured out how to do it with those apps).
This is an example of what I want that app to do:
Switch to Work profile and change:
- change Home screen (with Apps that I use for work only) and just have say 3 screens
- change Wallpaper/background
If I switch to 'Kids' profile
- disable phone calls
- disable SMS
If I switch to 'Home' profile
- change Home screen to a different wallpaper and re-arrange apps to what I use when I'm at home (eg: I use the 'Local' and 'TripIt' apps a lot when Im on the road for work so I have them on my Home screen when using the 'Work' profile but when I'm back home I don't so I dont need them on the Home screen for my 'Home' profile)
- Also I wanna have 5 screens (Home screen plus 2 on each side)
etc etc etc...
All the profile changing apps I've looked at on the Play Store such as Locale, Tasker, Profile Scheduler, PhoneWeaver, and Easy Profiles are good at changing sound profiles and doing a lot more things but they don't seem to be able to do what I need as I mentioned before (or like I said I haven't figure out how to do that with those apps)
Can anyone point me to an app that does that or explain how I can do it with the apps I've mentioned?
Thanks in advance!
You might just be out of luck, as MT4G had its own UI system or launcher or whatever you want to call it. It was not a SENSE theme UI, launcher or what ever you want to call it.

Yea I think I might just be ...actually all those other apps do some of what I need except for changing the Home screen and re-arranging the apps based on which profile is selected
Well hopefully we SGS3 users get the Jelly Bean 4.1 update at the end of this month or early next month like it has been rumored and I'll be able to install and use this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=29999828 <---I just found about it researching my issue here on the forum and it sounds EXACTLY like what I'm looking for!
Yayyyy
The only working solution I can think of for home screen switching is if you use one launcher for work with 1 wallpaper and apps arrangement and another launcher for home.
Have you looked into "tasker" or "locale" on the market?

CM 10 has that build into it check it out.
How do I get CM10 on my Galaxy S3? ..Sorry I am a noob when it comes to this
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
Is there a Rom or Intl Rom(9005) which have Note 4 features for our beloved Note 3. Any idea OmniSwitch works as intended on TouchWiz? I am sticking with AOSP PAC and missing the S Pen, Camera and One Hand.

Yeah, actually I am using OmniSnitch on my N3 and it works great. I actually found the app as an inclusion (system app) in the ROM that I flashed on the Note 10.1 2014 (p607t). The ROM is xKat, and was actually built for the p605 (international LTE variant), but awesomely, the hardware that T-Mobile sells is simply a re-branded p605 so any development work for the p605 works fine on the Tmo hardware :good:
Anyway, OmniSnitch is a great, super-useful app. I actually froze flashbarservice and replaced the multi window feature on the side of my screen with OmniSnitch, Flippr (another awesome app that allows you to access widgets or shortcuts from any page - even games. Crazy useful for "remote" widgets like Yatse, AnyMote, etc.) and PIE.
I'm not really sure about your first question, as I'm a Tweaked devotee, but can definitely confirm that OmniSnitch works fantastically, I don't see why it couldn't be installed on any phone / ROM. I don't think it even needs root.
@jazzmachine Thats great! Is there a HALO kind of thing available for TouchWIZ Note?
Why yes there is, and I happen to use it since it's much more versatile than split windows or pen windows. I was actually going to mention that in my last post, guess I should have
Just installing the XHalo xposed module gets the job done. One example of a nice feature it adds is that if you open up an app via tapping on a notification, no matter if your at your launcher or have any app running, the app will open up in a window on top of whatever app you're using at the time. If you long tap a notification, in addition to being able to open App Info, you now also have the option to "open the app normally", which is self explanatory. You can also select a group of frequently used apps and tick the option to display them in the notification panel, then you can insta-launch them in a halo window from anywhere. After installing the XHalo module, don't reboot yet because there's one more module you need (for full functionality.... Halo works w/o it, but the windows won't be resizeable or movable, like they're supposed to be, if you don't also install the module "FixVisabilityOfMultipleFullScreenActivites". Basically what that one does is it fixes the visibility of multiple full screen activities.
JK, well, that is what it does, but the effect is that Halo works properly. Before installing that my halo windows were always statically positioned in the center of the screen and the didn't have the bar at the top that allows moving or resizing the window. It also allows you to open multiple Halo windows, IOW, it just fixes Halo to act like it's supposed to. If your setup is similar to mine, and you "repurpose" the edges of your screen, and you don't really use native mutliwindow (I have a ton of apps installed, and since certain ROMS (Tweaked) auto-add all apps to the sidebar and penwindow launcher, particularly the latter would take like, a while, to launch. There's no lag whatsoever with this modified (and more functional IMO) setup. Anyway, I was going to recommend freezing flashbarservice (multi window) in Titanium of something. For me, doing that released a good chunk of RAM, so if you don't use, or are trying to replace the multi-window functionality, definitely freeze if you're not using. Additionally, the frees the long press back for reassignment to another function, should you be inclined to do so. I reassign the hell out of my hard keys, even adding an activity to just pulling the S pen out and pushing it back in.
Modified S Pen functionality is the last thing I'll describe about my setup, so that this time I can answer before you ask I REALLY like GMD S Pen Control. I turned off air command, and have been working on and off on configuring that app with the goal of being able to launch anything (even obscure "secret code" menus) just by scribbling something on my screen. It's awesome, you just have to get into the habit of using the paths that you've configured regularly so that you don't forget them. So far I've just configured launching frequently used apps and settings toggles (the app also allows you to create, I think 5 launcher bars w/ 8 items (actions, tasks, shortcuts, toggles, a ton of stuff) each of which you can launch, of course, with a pen path).
So with my setup, I've pretty much taken the "Touch" out of the "Wiz".... wait, no, the "Wiz" ou... err, that's much worse. OK, first and last time using any variation of that description. what I'm saying here is that the TW "features" that I've replaced could be used on any device / ROM... so perhaps I've got my eye on an Nexus 6. Well, it was in my field of vision when I was playing with the N4 in the store yesterday (I can't resist activating dev mode on store demos... I mean I like to take a look at the settings there, but it's a thing.... if I pick up a demo model, I'm in About device tapping on the build #) on the N4 I was surprised to see that one of the first options was toggling the runtime between Dalvik and ART, but I didn't think the N4 was able to use ART yet, so I turned it on and the phone rebooted... I then saw the guy who's helped me out the most there was free so I went over to talk to him and ask a few questions and I forgot to check out the N4 set to ART before I took off. Really wish I did, but whatevers. I'll likely have my very own (hand picked perfection, totally perfect uniform display :victory:
So that was pretty OT, this a little less, but a complaint that I keep seeing about the N4 is lag with the recents panel launched. OmniSnitch seems like the perfect app to avoid that issue. For those unfamiliar, OmniSnitch is launched via a persistent (customizeable) half bubble / handle thing. A bar opens up (on any screen) and first you have a row of recently used apps. You can also assign persistent "favorites" that you can launch by tapping the arrow below the row of app icons, and you can immediately switch to a previous app or launch a favorite instanly - Lag + recent apps + OmniSnitch = complete non-issue. Attached a couple screen of how it looks (I don't think the app icons would be themed if you don't use Unicon, I'm not really sure about the general availability of this app. I actually pulled it off of the ROM that I installed on my Note 10.1 - so system app on tablet, but user app on phone. Works the same either way. I'd be happy to upload it, but don't feel like I should do so without permission from... I have no idea. Searching the Play store, the only result is called Fancy Switcher, which looks like a not so successful attempt to copy the app and (unnecessarily IMO) 'fancy it up'. Meh. So hopefully it's available on xda somewhere, but if anyone happens to know the dev if they could ask if they mind their app being shared in this thread, then write up a statement to that effect, both of you sign it (in blood), and send it to me via certified mail... I don't know. If people want it but can't find it, try to find out if it's FOSS, or GPLed or something, just post in here and if it's cool I'm happy to share
I would like to entirely remove the quick settings tiles in my Notification Shade, on my TMobile Galaxy S3 (SGHT999). I am running 4.3 stock rom (I highly prefer TW framework because I utilize some Samsung apps[New Boootloader!]) My device is rooted and has SuperSu Pro installed. I also have Xposed Framework installed, I have seen quite a few modules for other devices to do exactly what I've been hoping to succeed, but none for my device or compatible with my device. I can delete all the icons but am then stuck with an empty void and edit button. I'm looking to abolish the entire quick settings toggles as an option within my Notification pull down shade. I've been searching for days and cannot find a functioning solution, any help would be extremely appreciate. My apologies if this has been addressed somewhere and I overlooked it. I did not want to resort to making new thread but did what I could before making one.
I frequently use the Galaxy S6's Pop-up View feature to use multiple apps at once. However, although I know how to resize the windows, they don't seem to be able to get small enough for my liking.
I'd like to be able to resize the Pop-up View apps to about a quarter of the screen or a bit smaller, effectively giving me the ability to float as many as four apps on the screen without overlap. However, the current settings will stop resizing the window at a minimum size of about 55-60% of the screen, effectively meaning it is impossible to even have two floating apps without any overlap.
Is there any way to force the Pop-up View feature to allow floating apps to resize smaller than the current minimum? Also, is it possible to force "unsupported" apps into a floating window like you could with the Note 3's Pen Window feature?
I am currently using the stock odexed 5.0.2 rom with root.
On a related note, does the S6 handle DPI changes ok in system apps, or will they crash or display incorrectly as they did on the Note 3? (Maybe a DPI change can allow Pop-up View to display smaller?)
No quick way that I've found to make popup window smaller than stock. I've tried putting in quad view XML files from A Galaxy S4 mod with no luck. If I remember, I did not replace the multiwindow.jar along with it. I think it needed A way to actually launch them in A quad view. I could probably be done though with knowledge on jar files.
For allowing all apps in miltiwindow/popup view, there is
1. (my preferred method) Multiwindow Commander [Root] on the play store (paid). Shows notification for enabling newly installed apps in multiwindow.
2. MW-Pen app Enabler (play store, free/paid)
3. Xposed and wanam xposed Lollipop.
Changing the DPI effects the Camera app pretty badly I remember, but looks very nice on this screen.
I don't know if A workaround like Xposed App Settings works for the camera dpi.
I'm trying to figure out how to access system ui tuner. If I search the settings for system ui, it finds it, but I can't launch it. I keep reading to hold down the gear icon in the notification area for 10 seconds and it's supposed to add system ui tuner to the settings but that's not working for me.
Where did you read about this? , I somewhat remember something of the sort

I just got into it using activity launcher.
Using that or other equivalent software look for under System UI find the option called "system UI demo mode". Once you launch the system UI demo mode the system ui tuner appears.
It doesn't seem to add a menu option. So you will need to repeat the steps above or create a shortcut to the respective activity.
On, so that did get me into systemui settings. What I'm trying to do with it is I have a sound profiles app. On my last phone I used a different sound profiles app. The sound profiles in the notification area was always the first item listed. That just makes sense. Well, I just got this Note 10+ and for whatever reason the sound profiles app i used to use on my old phones doesn't work on the Note 10+. Its not changing the volumes correctly. I changed to a different sound profile app called audio profiles. This program is working perfect with adjusting the volumes, but it always appears at the bottom of the notifications. Sometimes I have to scroll to see it. I posted to another forum and someone suggested that system ui settings allow you to adjust which notifications appear at the top of the notifications. I'm not finding that in the system ui settings.
Try maybe with Samsung SoundAssistant app (to manage profiles etc.)
