Thanks, man. I did not use your particular link, but you're doing The Good Man's Work.
My only question is... is there a way to know that the full image has not been tempered with? I ended up using the one from The Android Soul that I linked to in my thread. Part of me wonders if they could've been modified or not.

Try to doit a full wipe & cache in recovery, im in this update and works fine for me, actually, is better Idle battery, with my other version lost 20%! of battery when i sleep, with this path i only lost 6% during night. Try to write first in english, then you can explain better in spanish.

My last update was september patch cph1, let's say i skip the october patch, can i go directly to this last patch update? I'm using odin as i live outside US region..
Hi All,
I have a Note 5 N920A running Android 5.1.1 and build number N920AUCU2AO16. I want to upgrade tyo the latest software which i believe i can from the links posted above (*N920AUCS4CPK1*).
I, however haev one question as this is the first time I am doing anything other than an auto OTA update. Mine was an At&T phone which i purchased in the US on ebay and it was an unlocked one adn i currently use it in the UK with no issues. By upgrading to the latest stock firmware, will i lose the unlocking or has the update nothing to do with unlocking ? Please help.

Hi, you can install whatever version if you use Odin, can skip from lollipop to MM if you want, no problems with that, but some peoples said to this version blocks the bootloader (cant rollback to LL), in my case i had the boodloader blocker after and dont care for me, you can check if you have the bootloader block in the screen of upgrade (odin mode) if said secure download enable your bootloader is block. For me, this version help me to save battery xD so, its geat for me xD.

If you have a factory or IMEI unlock dont worry for lose it, change system not affect unlock, however if you have a home unlock you will lose it, The most certain is that your phone is factory or imei unlock cause i never seen a home unlock for this model, you sould doit whitout afraid.

Not have a way to know it, but for now, note 5 doesnt have a home unlock (except maybe Sprint variant), so your phone is most probably factory or imei unlock, you can actualizate without afraid.

Hi bro, you have donwload this uptade? the files on this post are made for odin (have 4 parts+pit) is not a flashable OTA (flashable zip), this is a complete rom if you want to flash it by adb maybe first you need to convert this on a flashable zip, so, this is a complete rom you can flash from wherever patch you want, adb is most used for some ota's patch (in this case is not only a patch, is a complete rom w/patch), you need use odin this time.

If you have only a patch of 24 mb you can sent it by sideload like ota, but you need to install first the other patch ( need to install all patch from your version of SO to this cpk1) this is in case to you want use adb sideload for actualizate to cpk1 you need install every patch from your version until this (install each patch released from your version to cpk1 in order), but if you dont wanna install any patch you can donwload the files from smxwang (this post) it is a complete rom with all patch. Sorry for my english xD im learning it.
Resume:
ADB sideload used to install OTA actualization, in this case you need to install in release order each one.
Odin ROM used to install a complete system, in this case you can install no matter in which system version you are.
If you want use a sideload you need search all patch released from september to december and install in order, otherwise if you dont have all patch you can use this files to install a complete system no metter if you have your sistem in january, march, july, september, doesnt metter.

I try doing it too but no success, I think you should flash first a custom rom, then you will be able to flash touch recovery and it will for sure work.
I will let know about some test I make!
I'll be honest, I didn't try it, but it will work. That's really not a bad idea and would work with any phone Gingerbreak works on....You should release that in Android General.
I would use it, I'm just too lazy to flash an sbf and then set my phone back up again. I'm happy with my Bravo for the moment...and its my onlyl phone...That really is a simple, yet useful, solution.
gracias

--------------------------------------------------------
If you have adb installed on your pc, using this one will cause no problem to the phone or your pc.
Your antivirus detects gingerbreak as a virus because of an exploit command inside the apk file, you can deactivate your antivirus and use it with no problem, no risk with it.
I'll add, s1c/rage against the cage/gingerbreak all show up as viruses because they are. Not kill you PC virus, but virus none the less. Technically they're exploits, but still get picked up by scanners.
Gonna need some testers for LINUX and MAC, when its ready I will you know people!
Working great!. Will flash a Rom right now . Thnx to make our life easier!.
Took a few flashes, but I got there in the end! Great stuff, thanks!!
Worked like a charm. Thanks!!
Maybe is there other fastest method but here is mine. hope it works to you.
To get 4.4.4 update via OTA, i had to flash .ftf file from this link (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2759110)
I flashed it with Flashtool, download it in their webpage (http://www.flashtool.net/downloads.php
---Install the tool and then when you installed it, open the program folder and click on Drivers, and install Flashtool drivers, (I selected Flashmode drivers, Fastboot drivers and Common drivers Lagan Fusion3 board).
----Install drivers and then you just have to copy the FTF file from your download directory to the Firmware directory of the flashtool folder.
-----Open flashtool and select the icon of a Ray and select Flashmode.
-----Select the firmware of your devide (C6506) generic us .230
-----It will says "Preparing files for flashing" Wait until a screen appears telling you what to do, here you will shut down your device (disconnected from usb cable) and when it shut it off, Click in Volume down and connect the usb cable (keep your finger in volume down). The computer will detect the phone and do it stuff, you just have to wait and when the 4.4.2 update is installed to your phone and it starts correctly, go to Settings, about phone and Updates, 4.4.4 will appear by ota.
-Good luck! Feel free to ask me via pm or comment here
(if you have a better method ,good, this is mine and i'm newbie )
Srry for bad spelling, i'm from mexico and i'm learning english x)
I think this is what you need to do to get root (if you don't want to use the firmware for other models).
1. Obtain xperifirm and download both the 4.4.2 and 4.4.4 firmwares. Build ftfs with flashtool.
2. Flash 4.4.2 with flashtool and root (towelroot).
3. Save 4.4.2 kernel
4. Flash 4.4.4 with flashtool
5. Flash 4.4.2 kernel to get root
6. Flash 4.4.4 kernel to have 4.4.4 rooted
I'm going to give it a shot, unless someone else wants to post an easy guide.

Nope, easier than that. Just flash 4.4.2 if you don't have it, root with towelroot and do the OTA. Root remains.

I did read that been in 4.4.4, you had to install the .230 kernel, root it*, and then install the .283 kernel. (It is in a post in this same section)
go45cvi in this post, says that been in 4.4.2 rooted*, and then updating to 4.4.4 via OTA, will mantain the root access. Idk actually. In fact, i haven't updated to 4.4.4 yet, but anyway, i'd recommend you to try this first, you shouldn't lose nothing trying
*To root it, the method that worked until 4.4.2, was the geohot's "towelroot" one. Search it in google or here in xda

I worked thank you very much!
So I got this phone after new years, and when I got home I decided to unlock the bootloader because I wanted to root it. Long story **** I found the process too complicated (Unlike how I did it years ago for my previous xperia phone) so I gave up. Now my phone says something about phone is unlocked every time I turn it on and that's that.
I seem to be unable to get latest android update for my phone, I looked at the sony website and used my IMEI number and it says I should be able to install oreo on my device, but there are no updates on my device.
What must I do in order to get the oreo update for my phone? At this point I don't care for rooting my device so any help is extremely appreciated.
Thanks in advance

Hi, was to much since I don't modify a Samsung device so I need help please.
Want to convert to multi csc to have clean rom(no carrier apps and logos on boot) and then root with twrp.
With the s9 I remember only download firmware desire and flash with Odin, but with note 10 it's the same?
Do you recommend first unlock bootloader and then convert?
Look in the roms, recovery and kernels section, Dr Ketan posted all you need for the exynos note10+ there, y pues que tengas suerte mi buen!
Thanks, I read that already but i need to know if it's possible to install multi csc rom without modify anything and then install root and twrp
I have an error in the CTS profile match that gives me an error and I have not rooted the mobile...the support team tells me that it is not your original room...and I changed from room cn to room eu.... the McDonald's app doesn't work for me because of that..any solution to fix it without root?

Root it then..lol
Decrypted data, flashed modified super.img that is r/w with modified fstab, deleted some system apps, flashed 676.22 system drivers, gpu undervolted and slight overclocked to 692 mhz, twrp recovery, magisk and still I pass
Also didn't you flash custom recovery? Maybe because bootloader unlocked.. Not sure As soon as I received my device I unlocked bootloader and rooted.

Reflash firmware to see if issue persist.
Just root it and bypass safteynet once and for all and free your device from 3rd party handcuffs and this type of nonesense. You own your device, not them.

Hmm.. Well if you find out why it won't pass safety net even though your not rooted please let us know. I don't see how a stock device wouldn't pass it.. Like I say before, I think your bootloader being unlocked is affecting it.
Your bootloader is unlocked, that's why you're getting the error. Either install Magisk and patch the error, or go back to your original ROM and relock your bootloader (of course, without root, otherwise your smartphone won't work anymore).

It does not have root... Its original rom, I don't even know what it is... Last time I downloaded the one that came from the Red Magic website on 4.28 Europe/Asia and it doesn't work... I even installed a 3.18 version and it It left the phone useless and I had to format data..
As I have also seen, changing the text payload properties, deleting the "_un" file, it is configured to the global room, but of course I don't know if it is clean and it will continue with the error...

Is OEM unlocking enabled on your device and you're unable to turn it off? If so, then your smartphone is unlocked, and you need to lock it; otherwise, the error will persist.
[ fastboot flashing unlock ] for unlocking bootloader
[ fastboot flashing lock ] for locking bootloader
The phone has the oem disabled so the bootloader is not unlocked...it is a super rare case. I understand a lot about this type of thing and it has never happened to me, but I will need a specific file to fix in a non-root way, I don't want to root it. I know that with magisk I fix it, but in this case it's a bug in the original room, the safetynet application detects it as if it was tricked

I am confused. Have you installed a new ROM or not?
You said you changed from "cn" to "eu". You said one ROM left the phone unusable. You must have "flashed" a new ROM, several times. Maybe the problem is that the original ROM's identity is somehow known, and anything else will cause this mismatch. Try restoring the "cn" ROM.
Mostly out of curiosity: Have you enabled Developer Options? Do they show any kind of entry for "OEM unlock", even if greyed-out?
Maybe you should install one of the idiot "root checkers", like Momo or TBChecker. You might get a more detailed explanation of what it doesn't like, which *might* be related to what is making "CTS Profile" not pass.

Estoy confundido. ¿Has instalado una nueva ROM o no?

If l change from rom uncommon to eucomon and it works correctly but does not pass the cts profile. The oem is grayed out and the bootloader is locked.

I thought you said that you started with "cn" and changed to "eu". I'm saying maybe that's what's wrong. Maybe the device somehow identifies itself as "naturally cn", so if it is not "cn", and you are not using a Magisk module to "spoof" its properties, it fails CTS Profile.
Even if you don't want to install Magisk, you might gain some insight by reading in the Magisk thread. I'm not sure what affects CTS Profile.
