I can get YouTube to show on TV. Is there any app I can use to show the pixel C screen on TV? Or if I root, can any modifications work?

A Google Cast dongle. See https://support.google.com/chromecastbuiltin/?hl=en-GB#topic=6102922

sure your tv only supports miracast and not DLNA? You can try bubbleupnp for streaming via DLNA...

screen mirroring and video streaming to HDTV?

I am looking to find a good device that's compatible with my 10.1 2014 edition Note, and will stream video, along with screen mirroring if possible, all to my HDTV. I have a 32" Samsung smart TV that does this flawlessly but I want to also be able to do this with my 42" Panasonic Plasma TV (It has USB ports but does not appear to have DLNA or any method of streaming video since it does not have wifi built in.) I know there's the Samsung brand Allshare device, but I've heard quite a bit of negative feedback about it. Ultimately I want something that will be reliable, and will also stream 1080p video. I saw that there are various Miracast devices, but many that I have seen do not have especially great reviews. I saw that the Roku devices can send video to an HDTV but it seems that they only do this with select Android devices, and I wasn't able to find a list of compatible devices on the Roku.com website. Lastly I was also thinking that I could possibly stream video to my Panasonic TV if I got a wifi USB stick, but I'm not sure if this would allow DLNA/video streaming. Any help with finding a device for my tablet that would allow me to stream video to my TV would be most appreciated.

I've the AllShare Cast Hub and if work well with Note 10.1.
Better than using S3 or S4. With them I've a lot of random disconnections.
Unfortunately AllShare Cast Hub stream only at 720p ancd not at 1080p. On the box I can read 1080p, but I've NEVER got this kind of connection with S3, S4 or Note 10.1.
Thanks for the reply. I'll definitely consider the Allshare box, although I may just go with a hard wired MHL2 connection since I really want to get 1080p.
Just found this IOGEAR box that isn't released till 12/20/2013, yet it looks like it may be exactly what I'm looking for! http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16815290053
Guess I'll have to wait till its released to see how it performs, and if it works well with my tablet.
It's not screen mirroring, but have you checked out Google Chromecast? I don't have one, but it looks promising and may be the simplest and cheapest solution for what you're looking for.
Do you have a Samsung smart tv? I have a 6500 and my s4 and this note 10.1 2014 screen mirrors fine in 1080. It may be the TV you have? If you don't have a Samsung smart TV the the All share hub is likely what you're looking at to achieve your goal.

I tried the Chromecast and wasn't satisfied. On lifejacket there's a good article about the pros and con's http://lifehacker.com/google-chromecast-does-it-deserve-a-place-in-your-livi-945082974
I think a Roku will be a good solution for many people, but if you take time to read about all the miracast products you may find a really good and inexpensive way to do it.

I'm using this little guy: NetGear Push2TV
got mine at Amazon - can't provide the link since I'm too new here.
Works pretty well on any WiDi enabled device: tablet, phone, laptop, etc.

I got the Netgear Push2tv, had it for a few days and returned it. Even with the latest firmware it frequently disconnected. I just got that iOgear box I linked above and it works flawlessly, all in 1080p.
I have been looking for a way to connect my note to my TV. My TV is 4 years old and not smart lol. So this IOGear box just streams files? or does it mirror the tablet on the tv? I use VLC player on my note. Is the playback sluggish or fast enough to watch large files?

I have an older plasma Panasonic that is somewhat "smart" but doesn't have built in wifi. The ioGear will work with just about any tv but I definitely needs an hdmi input, and I believe a usb input. Streaming runs beautifully even when running 1080p video files that are over 2 GB. I use MX player (the free version.)

Does this support full screen sharing of just transmission of movies and pictures like all share. Could I for example share BBC iplayer or a video running inside the Firefox browser?

Screen Mirroring over WiFi-Direct
I got it working with my Note 3, I can connect my Note3 via WiFi Direct to my TV
BUT.....
Is there way to turn off my display of Note 3 ?
I use Screen Standby... takes a little bit of setup, but works well.

I use my ps3 and I know Xbox works as well. Install skifta and you can move all your media files to you movie folder and it works perfect for what I use it for. Which is watching torrent movies in 1080p on my 60inch TV

I recently stopped using skifta cause of that. Just turn on near by devices under settings/connections and then go to video on your ps3 and learn in media servers

Really depends on how and where you want to use it. For home use, either one probably be OK. I don't think you can mirror with Chromecast (not sure about Miracast). Also, I've heard that results sometimes vary; some people have complained about audio delays with Miracast.
If you want to use your Android device to watch video somewhere other than at home (say, at a motel), Chromecast will probably not work because of the types of networks available at hotels. Miracast might work, but you would not be able to connect to the hotel's wi-fi network while using it.
Personally, I have a Xbox setup for streaming video at home that works great, so I mainly use my Android stuff while in hotels. For me, the best bet is a Slimport adapter. This will give you high quality video and will let you stream from a hotel wi-fi network or using 4G. Anything that you watch on your phone, you can watch using a Slimport adapter.

From my understanding, EZCast will mirror anything displayed on the source device to the TV but Chromecast is limited to specific apps. Is this correct?

I've just read this article which explains the differences:
http://howto.cnet.com/8301-11310_39...t-everything-to-know-about-mirroring-android/
I think I would go with Chromecast. Although I do have PS3 as my media streamer.

Miracast Waiting Room

Anyone know if the Fire TV has any Miracast support at launch? I saw according to the press release it's coming later this year, but not much information aside from that.

I posted in a long thread before there was a separate forum. I had no luck with Miracast. However, a new alternative has popped up. If you have a 4.4.2 rooted device, you can download Clockworkmod Mirror beta and the receiver app, and you can get similar functionality.
You can try AllCast. It has support for Fire TV now. You will need to sideload the app to your FTV.

My FTV showed up today... I sideloaded the AllCast Receiver and AllCast works good. However mirror doesn't see the FTV at all. 4.4.2 rooted GN3. Never had a device it would work with so I'm not sure if the app is working (didn't support chromecast on my phone).

XBMC and SPMC support Airplay. I have not tested it yet, but will tonight.
Does Miracast work? I've a BlackBerry Q10 and it has Miracast screen mirroring built-in. Wondering if anyone has tried to mirror using Miracast?

Does Airplay Screen Mirroring work? My wife has an iPhone 5s and Macbook. She wants to be able to Airplay from both her iPhone and Macbook (screen mirroring).
How about support for DLNA/Play-to/Play-On ?
Cheers
Hi,
i just received my Fire TV and also tried to connect my Microsoft Surface2 via Miracast with the FTV...which did not work at all. The FTV Box is just not shown as Miracast enabled device. Do I have something to activate first, or is the FTV just not working with Maracas (for now)?
Tanks!

Are you using a target (tv) that supports chrome cast? Miracast doesn't work on MZP without a root required build prop tweak.

Then you need to either root and edit build prop, or get a chromecast or CC compatible target to hook to your tv.

I have an MC only vizio tv. The MZP will not detect it as a target directly. Netflix app (which supports miracast) finds it just fine.

Screen mirroring not working on 2 xl

So I can cast youtube to my tv with no issue but when i go into the cast setting menu on my 2 xl to screen mirror it does not pick up my tv it just says no nearby devices were found. Can anyone test to see what might be the issue. Any help would be appreciated.
You need google chromecast device for that. Google stopped using miracast standard with android 7.0.
Ahhh that sucks. Are there any limitations to chromcast for screen mirroring? Thanks for the help.
