Many ROMs that are published on the ROMs forums, such as the unofficial CM13 one, tells Gapps (or Open Gapps) to be required.
I want to install a ROM such as the mentioned about without Gapps, can't I?
Yes you just have to flash the rom i think you know but just to be sur you won't have google play without gapps
Yes I know, I just want to go the F-Droid way.
Thanks

Humm i tried that version and i flashed the Gapps proposed by LEWA OS thread (LOL) and it worked , it is a ZIP files about 70MB, i think .
Yeah I was trying to flash it with Miui recovery which really didn't do anything.
I used one of the other recoveries to flash gapps and it works.
Hey guys,
my brother brought me his Note 8 (5110) on which he installed Cyanogen 12, but it failed to install the gapps i guess, because it´s constantly popping up errors relating to google play, calendar and other gapps...
so what can i do ?
i guess i just need a suitable CWM version that can install gapps for Cyano12 ? ==> if so where can i find it.
thanks for your help
Tobi
No, if he had installed CM, there is already a Recovery. Try an other GApps package and flash it again. There is no special CWM for GApps.
Awesome !!
Thanks for helping. Seems like the reduced gapps didn´t work. The full package runs fine.
Hi,
i'm rather new with rooting, flashing and all the stuff that comes with it.
Now i have an Oppo Find7 and i managed to install the following:
-TWRP recovery
-OmniRom 5.1 nightly
-Gapps 5.1
I'm pleased everything worked but now i saw OmniRom 6.0 was available, when i tried to flash it with gapps 6.0 i encountered the first problem:
-The install of OmniRom went well but when i try to install Gapps 6.0 stock, it is saying i don't have enough storage? Can i somehow increase or free up this storage to it can fit?
Second question: If the above is possible, is there a way to flash OmniRom 6.0 and Gapps 6.0 without the loss of data? or do i still have to backup and restore with titanium backup?
Thanks in advance
Seriously? no one can answer this?

Stock gapps are too big, install Pico package
Inviato dal mio Find7 utilizzando Tapatalk
You should start by having ColorOS 2.1.5i installed and storage unified then install TWRP then flash OmniROM 6
Need to start clean.
Why should I reinstall colorOS? I thought once I have TWRP I could just wipe and reinstall a different custom rom.
As for the gapps package, I am using more apps than the Pico one is providing. Can I still install the others from the market?
But so there is no way to somehow open up more space to install the 6.0 omni nightly and gapps? Plus no way to install it without to do the backup and restore with titanium backup? (install so that all the apps stay the same after the update.)
Re-read my post. Unified storage is the key. It's best to do it from ColorOS. OmniROM is not a fat ROM, there should be enough space. It's exactly how I did it, although I did use one of the cut down Gapps versions as I remove a lot of Google bloat anyway.

Nano version should do the trick.
Well when I still had colorOs I already unified the storage because I couldn't fit more apps on it then I wanted.
It's the reason I came to use omniRom because cyanogenmod doesn't work nice with unified storage and didn't work on my phone.
Could my phone be ununified after flashing cyanogenmod or omni then? Because I never changed it back to Un unified
I have seen all the versions of gapps, although a lot of the smaller/less app packages doesn't have all the apps I am normally using.
Hi All,
I am running CM13 nightly, to be precise 0821, and I see in the release logs they talk a lot about SnapDragon camera. I am not sure why but I don't have it, only the google camera. I ran nightly since they came out with a dirty upgrade each time, every other day or so...not sure what can I do to get the Snapdragon Camera?
You installed the nightly with the "wrong" gapps. You probably used " full" or "stock" version, witch replaces apps with google apps like the camera. Install nightly again with nano and you will have the cm camera. Other google apps you think you need you can just install from google play. Another way is to use "Aroma" version of gapps there you can choose witch apps to replace. I am not sure if you have to wipe the system partition to get the nano version installed, I don't expect it to be necessary

Indeed I did, I used FULL gapps. Thanks very much, makes sense now
I am new to treble roms and comfusing about which gapps should i use. Also about flashing order.
Open gapps , flame gapps and bitgapps which one is most suitable for treble ROMS?
Thanks u so much.
Hello,
i'm also on this problem. I also found the MicroG package which is very insteresting because it is a development without google in the background!
But bigger problem for me is still, how to flash the gapps without having TWRP?
I think there is no solution yet.
I try to install everything by myself. Playstore is working but for example Pokemon Go still cannot login!
Greetings
