It's a Verizon Pixel XL 32gb running build NDE63X fully stock.
I've tried everything mentioned in normal and safe mode through multiple reboots, power downs, etc.
Phone won't connect to cell data but will connect to wifi. It states that cell data is turned off but if I turn it back on it immediately turns back off without ever connecting.
Windows 10 file manager as well as Thunar and Nautilus file managers for Ubuntu 16.04 all show the pixel as a network device but won't show anything there.
Fastboot will show ID from bootloader
ADB won't show anything anywhere.
When I click developer options it says "Developer options are not available for this user" (This seems damned suspicious and seems likely to be what's grieving me)
Home button ONLY does the animations and nothing else. The recent apps button doesn't do anything however the back button works.
I tried using google cloud to back up the photos but it never uploads anything anywhere, just sits there saying it's uploading X images (I've tried single pictures as well as sets of pictures, videos, and anything else I could think to try.
I'm pretty confident that a factory reset will resolve everything but I can't do this until I can get photos off. I've been googling, DDGing, and all around scraping xda, reddit, and anywhere else I can think of. Any help or suggestions would be great!

What you could do is download "ES File Explorer" from the play store and when opened, navigate to Network>remote management. It will give you an IP and a port. Pop this into an ftp client on your computer such as Filezilla Client. It will list your device and you can copy to a desired location on your computer
Can you email, bt file share, install Dropbox or OneDrive and turn photo back up on, plug in the otg adapter and a flash drive, adb pull files, share to google drive? Last resort display them on screen and take a pic with another camera.
Go into settings and see which user you are signed in with. Maybe that is the problem.

I'm not sure you read my post... adb isn't doing anything. It should, but doesn't. This is likely due to developer options being inaccessible as I mentioned in the OP. Uploading the files hasn't worked with Google Drive and should. I admit that I haven't tried with Dropbox or OneDrive due to not having accounts with either group but if other solutions don't work I can try making a dropbox. Wired transfer has been a bust, again, thoroughly mentioned in OP.

I'm signed in as Name being the correct name of the user. I've tried clicking on it to switch users to attempt to resolve the issue but to no avail. There should only be the one user on the device and they should have full permissions but this doesn't seem to be the case, though I can find no alternate user account.
Maybe dd the data partition from fastboot and mount it in Linux to copy the files
I had exactly the same issue. This seems to be an issue of a "dirty" flash. On Marshmallow this issue happened sometimes, and the cause was that Android expects the Setup Wizard to be running. There is a flag which forces the WIzard to start, but I couldn't get this fix running on 7.1.1.
I installed an FTP Server on my Pixel and fetch the data off there.
There was no other way that to completely wipe the device. This will be the last time I will ever buy a phone without a SD card slot. With my Samsung device I could easily flash forth and back, because all my data was on my SD card, not being affected by a full wipe / reflash.

Glad I could help!

This will officially not work for 1.1
What it does:
Enables ADB via uRamdisk
Installs su and Superuser.apk
Installs Busybox
Installs Button Savior
Installs Go Launcher
Installs NookColor Tools (To Enable Non-Market Installs)
Installs Gapps (Gmail, Market, Youtube, Others)
System Files that get Modified:
/system/build.prop - Enabling Google Check In
packages.xml - Allows Gapps to install properly.
framework.jar - Should allow a proper Android ID to generate.
Changes:
June 24, 2011 -
Removed: Multitouch Permission
Added: Modified framework.jar
June 22, 2011 - Fixed: Script not running at boot.
June 20, 2011 - Initial Release
Before you begin:
You must already have a registered Nook Simple Touch
You must have a Gmail/Youtube linked Account. IF you used a Gmail account for B&N Registration you should use that one for this process.
You must either have dd (Linux) or WinImage (Windows) software.
You must have an external microSDCard reader or this will not work. Do NOT use the Nook Simple Touch.
You must have enough intelligence to follow instructions.
Let's get started:
Download TouchNooter from here: touchnooter-1-6-24.zip
Linux: Unzip and use dd if=touchnooter-1-6-24.img of=/dev/sdcard
Windows: Unzip and use WinImage to "Restore Virtual Hard Disk Image" to your SDcard.
Windows Alternative: https://launchpad.net/win32-image-writer/+download
Power off your Nook Simple Touch.
Insert TouchNooter SDcard into your Nook Simple Touch.
Power on your Nook Simple Touch.
You should see the screen "Rooted Forever".
It will boot like normal and you should be asked to select a launcher now. (If not use Button Savior to go home. This will bring up the launcher chooser.)
That was the hard part, now to the simple stuff.
Upon boot unlock your screen.
At the Android Welcome Screen skip Sign In.
Enable Location Services when given the option.
Connect to Wifi and launch Youtube from Go Launcher's App Drawer (Or the App Drawer of your Choice).
Click the Menu button (The right one in the middle of the status bar).
Select "My Channel" and Login using your Gmail Account.
Exit Youtube and Launch Gmail from "Extras".
Sync your Gmail Account and Exit. (If it fails to sync that is fine.)
Open up Market and Accept Terms and Service.
If you made it this far your nook should be successfully Rooted. Go Download an App to make sure.
Enable Non-Market Installs by running the NookColor Tools App.
If your Youtube fails to launch Uninstall and Reinstall Youtube from /data/app
Go to Settings > Device Info > SdCard > UnMount > Format
Thanks To:
Arnold Snarb - modified framework.jar
nemith - helping me figure out getting it to run at boot.
JesusFreke - For getting root.
MrMuffin - For the original Market Hack that we're using.
Currently Working On: TouchNooter 1.11.x
I've probably screwed up, but perhaps not too badly. Tried to follow all the steps and got the system files copied to media, and then to replace the main system files, but there I got confused. I ended up rebooting without attempting to install the youtube app, which I didn't find in the download. Even now, a lot looks like it is working, but I can't even attempt to sign in to google cause I can't get a keyboard to come up to allow me to enter my user name and password. Is there any help for me, or am I a total dunce needing to start over? thanks!
EDIT: I see I am screwed -- no keyboard is coming up for me anywhere. I guess I can go through a major reset but if anyone has a suggestion to just get the keyboard back I will appreciate it.
EDIT2: Well I got past that, simply chose multitouch keyboard instead of Gingerbread in NookColor Tools.
EDIT3: But now I am stuck again as I can't sign in to a google account... says can't establish a reliable data connection to the server, even though my wifi is fine. But at least at the moment everything else is fine, though the keyboard isn't working very well (but it does work; lots of ghosting)
An .img file is being uploaded for TouchNooter 1.6.20 It'll do all the copy and edit stuff, the only thing it can't do is create an android ID.
In the "GappsAndMore" there was some keyboards which were from the NC it was just a raw pull from AN. This is more refined with things that could cause issues removed. (Like Keyboards, Framework.jars from the NC, etc.)

I'd suggest a wipe and running TouchNooter... GappsAndMore had Keyboards and stuff in it and removed the stock keyboard =\
is a wipe in the nook touch holding down the power for 20 seconds?
No you need to do a complete wipe by triggering recovery, but I don't know how to trigger recovery yet.
oh well the perils of early adoption. I'll follow the thread with anticipation!

You could try 8 failed boots. Basically you power it on and then power it off before it fully boots. Do that 8 times and it might trigger recovery.
Confirmed this works great. I'm going to find a fix for the calendar.

I did a reset of the device back to the out of the box experience, registered with my BN account, shut down and followed the directions to the letter. I had no luck at all. It just shows the Rooted Forever screen, then boots normally is if nothing happened.
Sorry Guys and Gals. Entirely my fault. It seems a combination of my own forgetfulness and bad scripting (I forgot proper codes and methods used in AN) caused this just to do nothing. I'm uploading a version as I'm typing this and will remove "BROKEN" from the title when it's up.
Still broken. init.rc isn't running it's script properly.
Script can be ran manually with:
Code:
adb shell sh /sdcard/nooter/tmp/scripts/Nooter
Will be working on getting it to trigger properly
Hi, sorry if this has been answered but I've done a search. So I have my USB drive mounted and allso good but whats the best way to add new movies to the drive. The device appears in windows but I can't see the drive. I 've tried to map a network drive to 192.168.1.3\sdcard\usbStorage\sda1 but it won't connect.
I've also tried snappea but it doesn't see any network on the fire tv.
Any thoughts?

So this worked a treat for me. Taken from another site
I just tested this: funkyfresh.samba (wasn't allowed to post the URL
First link, and it works fine once you set the screen to landscape.
Here a guide:
1. Download Samba Filesharing from above, sideload it, and launch it.
2. Press the button with the 3 horizontal lines on the remote and choose settings.
3. Set a password. Without a password the rest is greyed out. For test use 1234
4. Set screen orientation to Landscape, press back to exit and launch the app again.
5. Choose a username, default is SDCARD
6. Press back.
7. Press the button with the 3 horizontal lines on the remote and choose enable.
8. Wait a sec or 5. When asking for SU say YES, the app will exit to background.
On the windows computer:
1. Open windows explorer and choose connect to network drive.
2. Enter \\ipaddressofftv\SDCARD choose a drive letter, tick use different credentials and press OK.
3. In the username field enter: SDCARD in the password field: 1234
4. Press Ok.
You can choose to mount \\ipaddressofftv\usbStorage\<deviceid> in step #2 and thereby mount the harddrive directly if you don't care about having access to the rest on the box.

After a reboot you need to run the stickmount and samba again. You don't need to change anythign on your pc though.
I don't think there is a way to load programs on boot for the fire tv until there is a custom Rom. I think.

I think this is incorrect. I do have some apps, "Stickmount" included, which get executed automatically at boot time. It may be that "Samba Filesharing" just doesn't support this feature.
Try using "SambaDroid" instead of "Samba Filesharing". It is able to execute automatically at boot time.

Yeah i can confirm stickmount works automatically after reboot on my FTV.
I would really like this setup to work without needing to manually set it up everytime after a reboot. This way i can set my downloads directly to my portable hd plugged on my KFTV and not worry that it will fail. It would work almost like a server/NAS :victory:

But my transfer speed over wifi is quite slow. Around 1.5mb/s. Maybe its my router but i could get better speed with my old htpc. Maybe it's sambadroid. The app says i can get better speeds with paid pro version. Or maybe i need to be wires to get better speed.
Anyway i want you guys to know my progress.

My USB Drive is formatted as ex-fat. While I can mount the drive the Firetv only sees around 5gb of free space when actually there is 300+. Any suggestions? I'm on a Mac and cant use Windows NT formatting.
usb drive and ftp
Plugged in a 2TB USB drive to the FireTV, installed an ftp server on the FireTV, put cyberduck (ftp client) on my Windows 7 machine.
Now I can create directories on the USB drive on the FireTV from my Windows machine and ftp files into those directories. XBMC sees them fine and plays them.
I cannot ftp any file over 2GB it fails every time (no mater if ftp or ssh or different client on the Windows box.) I CAN add files over 2GB to the USB drive if it detach it and plug it direct into my Windows machine and transfer the files. Then the FireTV and XBMC can see those files and use them normally.
Hey guys just fot this tablet Monday, unrooted fresh out the box, it will download apps for a bit them get hung up and stop downloading and eventually show this error. Ive googled it and tried all the tricks that include clearing data im gp app/gp services/ framework. Unlinked my google account, rebooted etc.
2 strange things i noticed.
- my htc m8 on the same nerwork has never had these issues
-I haven't had this happen at my work network
I returned my tab S from Monday, now the new one does it too. I have a brand new Asus RT-AC68U beast of a wifi router. It briefly downloaded some apps once i took down the firewall, then errored out again...
I dunno what else to do i want to keep this tablet I hope someone can help.
Thanks in advance!
perhaps this workaround can help you:
on your pc you can install the chrome browser extension APK Downloader , then when you go to play store, you have an extra button download apk next to the app (all on pc in chrome browser) , once you downloaded the apk you can copy it to the tablet and install it.
Make sure that once you have copied the apk to your device you have enabled "unknown sources" in the settings or else it won't allow you to manually install an apk.
Whenever I have encountered an issue like this in the past I have Odin flashed the device to the latest stock firmware and then during the set up process, made sure that every minute detail entered is correct (or bypass google account installation and wifi connection and install them after the device start up).
Hmm thanks for the suggestions guys. Come to find out my m8 has this issue now so it must be router related somehow...
I too took down firewall of router, saved new settings, rebooted router, turned router off for 5 mins, turned it back on. Restarted lg g3 and then it worked for me. No more Error 495!
After factory reset I'm stuck at google account screen which I don't remember since it wasn't my main google account.
After a lot of research I've tried the talkback->youtube but chrome or any browser doesn't open so I can't use it
Tried the gmail path but whole menu' doesn't show up, only account section and no options
Tried the keyboard "assist" but google search bar doesn't appear.
Tried to flash stock rom from sdcard but fails at 5%
Phone wasn't rooted and everything is stock
How do I get past google account screen? Is it as good as bricked?
UPDATE: I managed to get past FRP through the stock email app exploit! I cannot post links however due to forum restrictions.
In case anyone needs:
1. Follow guide with normal talkback->share link->email(select stock email app instead of Gmail)
1.1 Create a hotmail or whatever account on an other device.
2. Sign in, compose email, attach file from sd card (QuickShortcutMaker apk, you can google it)
3. Send email! you can send to random address
4. Go to outgoing, open sent email and open attached file and install
5. After install open and scroll down to "Huawei Home", open first option, then tap "try"
6. You now have access to whole phone, go to Settings->Accounts and delete all accounts
7. Go back to settings->backup&restore->Factory reset and confirm
8. Phone is now clean of FRP, enjoy!

Hello,
My screen is damaged and is just black but the phone itself still works. I can still use android auto until I fix the screen.
Is there a way I can retrieve texts from the phone to the computer?
Many of the programs I looked at require confirmation from the phone and I have no way of clicking allow. Is there any way to get the messages?
Thanks
Is your usb debugging enabled?
Also does the touch works?

If you are interested in messages, contacts and call history only, a simple solution is to check your Google account. Obviously you should have the account on the phone and should have selected to back up to that account.

If debugging is enabled and you have allowed your pc for adb debugging on your phone, you can use this software,
https://github.com/Genymobile/scrcpy/releases/download/v1.12.1/scrcpy-win32-v1.12.1.zip
The official github repo link: https://github.com/Genymobile/scrcpy
Download and extract the zip, open command prompt in the extracted folder, connect your phone to your pc (debugging must be enabled, and pc must be allowed) and type scrcpy on cmd.
P.s you can check if the touch works by touching the screen and checking the response. You know how to turn on the flash. Try turning it on. This can help if your pc isnt allowed debugging on your phone. You get a prompt message on your phone to allow this pc. You can guess where the OK button is on the screen and try pressing it.
Sorry for long reply, but this is what i did.
