Hello,
I am a relative newbie here and would really appreciate some help.
I live in India and I am planning to get the HTC One X NA Unlocked from USA to India via friend. I have the following few questions:
1. Is it better to get the HTC One S NA or the HTC One X NA. Reason I ask is, the international One S does not have the Krait processor.
2. In either case, if i get an unlocked phone here and use it with a general SIM, will I not be able to update it with any firmware/SW changes?
3. What happens to the warranty of an unlocked phone? I am guessing there will be limited/no warranty on the phone in India.
Thanks a lot for your help guys, please do reply!
Regards,
Anupam.
The choice of one s / one x is upto you. I would say one x as that's what I've got.
The warranty may well be void in India.
As for updates that depends on the provider. I would suggest putting a custom rom on it.

Why do you want to to this ?
Why not buy it from india ?
1. One X
2. Upon booting you'll only loose access to HTC HUB which I guess none care
3. You'll still b able to upgrade the device.
4. You'll loose the warranty.
Guess this helps

Cheaper in US. $500 around which is roughly 28 K v/s 38K in India currently.
International One S does have the Krait processor. If getting the One S get one with the S4 chip as you can also get ones with the S3 chip which is slightly slower than the S4.
Both are very good phones, if size is not an issue then get the One X. My sister has the HOS, it has better battery life, better music quality via headphones noticablely faster in day to day usage as the S4 is a great chip.
The international One X has tegra which is good for gaming. One X has the better screen, HD resolution.
You'd be happy with either phone.

So does this mean i can upgrade without a custom ROM? I am a little new to this and have never actually played around with my phone. Hence would like to know what is the best way without too many customizations.

HI! I am from Singapore and i intend to buy HTC ONE XL. And does this phone have any wifi issues like the HTC ONE X.
I saw a video from youtube, it shows that HTC ONE XL has wifi death grip issues like the ONE X?
I came here to ask as HTC customer service is **** when i phoned them.
Ask in the One XL thread?

You should buy a Note II. Everybody should!
I did some research before when buying my HTC one x. I heard that htc one x is better with gaming with the better gpu and htc one xl got faster cpu.
Don't know how true this is. I have tried my brother in law one xl and found that camera is abit slower...
Note 2 look good!

Im the sort of person who won't buy something for the sake off it so I'll probably run my one x into the ground before I even think about a new phone.

can we start calling it the two x? can we make it a new thing? pretty please? lol
Well, what I always do is buy the successor then decide which one to keep a month later...this year the One X has grown on me....so it may be a keeper for another year
Probably give it to my partner... She's been eyeing it up ever since I got it. I'll probably go for a Nexus 4 before my contracts up and I'm fairly certain this will be my last hTC device even though I love the build quality and design. That is unless their policy with regard to s-off/updates becomes a lot less sucky.
My next phone would be HTC Two X, then HTC Three X and....
Yep same. Stuck in a 24 month contract but I'm already starting to think about a new device. The One X is great but I'm pretty sure this will be my last HTC. Again, the s-off nonsense and laxidasical approach to releasing sources coupled with being spoilt with the openness of Nexus have all made me reconsider

Depends on what the 2x has, is its too hard to pass up ill sell my one x and get one, if not ill keep the one x and honour my whole 2 year contract

I'm probably done with HTC, I'm waiting a while because I think Google will release a 32GB Nexus 4. At that point I'll buy a 16GB Nexus 4 for $300 instead of $350.

For now i'm happy with one x,what can they do more ?

Keep the One X+
Like several others, I'm on the 2yr plan. I really like the One X+ so far.
I had an Aria, then an Inspire 4G before and really like HTC build quality.
Much better than my dad's Samsung Galaxy SII.
I think I'll get a nexus device for my next phone. I actually really wanted a galacy nexus but was spec struck by the one x... And quicker updates wpyld be nice. That said it would be interesting to see what they come up with next.

I'll probably hold on to the one X for a while unless I go visit France or the us next may for break.

Like other people said when I'll change my hox I'll jump ship and probably buy a gphone. The problem is not the s-off itself but the warranty matter that comes without it. It's a pity cos htc always made really good phones and I'm with it since the good old htc magician with windows mobile 2003.

I am planning to buy another phone this year as my iPhone was stolen, and my biggest concern is the camera on the m9. Is it really that bad?

No, the M9 even takes better daylight shots than the S6 now. Daylight shots are greatly improved. Sense is the smoothest and fastest UI out there. Sound is top notch. And this is the best gaming phone. Battery is better than the other top phones.
After the latest update i can assure you that the camera on the m9 has been much much improved & i think they add digital stability for video capture ?

I had the S6 for 20 days and now M9 for a month, I can say the M9 is better than S6 for daylight, S6 is better for low light but it doesn't mean the M9 is not good.

When is 1.40 update going to available in the States ? I know it has been said sometime this month, but has a date been set ?
Don't know when, but some carriers in US push 5.1 for M9 ahead of others, so they got the update earlier then EU ?

The HTC 10 has a great camera. IMO, the S7 slightly edges it out (no pun intended).
Neither one comes close to my 5D3, but the best camera is the one that you have with you when opportunity presents itself. In that respect, the H10 or S7 or my old N4 are all equal.

There HTC camera is NOT all that great if you're looking to point and shoot. If you plan on messing around with the Pro moved then it's worth it. Other than that, grab something else like the S7.
