Hey everyone,
so thanks first for making it easy with all the rooting, installing and explaining.
I love the rooted phone but I don't understand why "Live Boot" doesn't work.
I tried reinstalling Super SU, reinstalled Live Boot and much more but Live Boot is refusing to work at startup...
So anyone got an idea what to do?
Thanks

I installed a rom that was based off the released 2.2 that was released on Friday. I had root already and everything worked fine no problem. I flashed the latest radios and wimax and really nothing else. Well today I went to use Titanium Backup and it wouldn't run; just got a black screen. got the FC message. I then tried to use QuickBoot to reboot and that also didn't do anything. I manually powered off and rebooted and still the same actions from both apps. I then tried Wifi tether and that wouldn't start the sharing. Said that it was unable to Start. I think at that point my root access wasn't working properly. I looked at the Superuser permission app and it looked ok. I then tried another app that required root called Ad-Block and it said that it couldn't get root access.
The only way to get the apps working again was to flash the same rom I flashed on Friday. All apps are working fine after the re-flash.
Anyone else have this?

That is possible. I had the same issues. To get the ad-free host files in, I had to do it in recovery mode and push the files which is like having the nand lock. I try to do some programs that require root and it reboots the phone.
Hi All! I used the method that involved booting CWM and running a root .zip, and SU seemed to work fine for a while.
But lately (as of the last two days (rooted it three days ago)) Apps started hanging at the "Acquiring root privileges".
I have tried uninstalling updates to the SU app, and clearing data, but it still does it. (uninstalling updates renders it completely un-usable as the binary has been updated.)
SU does occasionally work, but I can't pinpoint why.
Thanks!

Do you have a recovery installed like clockworkmod? If so boot into recovery and select 'fix permissions'. Not sure if that will help but its all I could think of :S

Well, instead of putting up with that, I took the plunge and installed FXP137-CM10, and as that seems to be causing different issues, I'll start a new thread. Thanks anyways.
Hi, hope someone here can help?
I recently rooted my N7100, using CF Auto root – great instructions, easy to follow, and it rooted perfectly
All was good, except that it would not of course, run SkyGo. After downloading voodoo and superuser, I managed to get the phone to temporarily disable root, but Sky Go still wouldn’t work. So, I un rooted, and Sky Go worked - and then re-rooted, with the aim of trying to temporarily disable root again.
Noooooow, my binary su counter has gone to 3, root checker says it’s not properly rooted, Sky Go won’t work because it says it IS rooted, Titanium Backup and Triangle Away won’t work because they say it’s not rooted – and I’m stuck!
Tried re-rooting yet again, via the same method, and it seems to work, but again, root checker says it’s not rooted ‘properly’, and no apps requiring root will work. Also, in spite of supersuer and superSU not being installed (as far as I can see anyway), superSU doesn’t get installed during the root process, as it did the first time I did it.
I seem to be stuck on some sort of root limbo – does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks for reading.
Try downloading SuperSU from market and check if it works
Well, feel sure I did actually do this and it wouldn't run, due to not having 'proper' root. Just downloaded it now though and what do you know, it worked! Thanks for the suggestion, it's appreciated. Just need to find some way to temporarily disable root now, to enable the running of Sky Go!
Try this

Thanks for the suggestion. I installed it, but it didn't work. I'll continue looking, but thanks again anyway, for taking the time to reply.
Hi guys! I recently swore off tinkering with my Kindle Fire HD 8.9, but just couldn't help myself. I'm not too incompetent...I've rooted the 7 inch Kindle with success and recently unlocked and rooted a Samsung Infuse phone. All that being said, I am bit confused. Here is what I've done:
I rooted the KFHD8.9 using the binary tool. The only problem I ran into was in the window shell portion (when I was supposed to type in /data/local/tmp/onload.sh). I ended up skipping this part. Probably not wise. Anyway, the root was successful and Root Analyzer says it is rooted.
I then successfully installed 8.9Starirom. I have it set up the way I want it now. My goal is to install xbmc apps so I can stream icefilms.
Here is the catch ...
I don't have TWRP installed. I never installed it after rooting. I saw that installing 8.9Starirom would give me an option to install it. It says I would get a red screen if I didn't have it and then I'd have an option to install, thus correcting the red screen. I never got the red screen. I also never get the "blue" Kindle logo when booting. The device loads and I get the option to load with Go Launcher EX, Go Locker, or Kindle.
All is working well. My apps that I had installed all work. New apps I install work. Wifi works.
I'm just not convinced I have everything set up properly. Can someone point me in the right direction as to what I should do at THIS point. Maybe the answer is "nothing", but I want someone more experienced than me to tell me that.
Thanks for any guidance!

For what it's worth ... I just successfully installed XBMC and Icefilms on this Kindle. Both are working.
Any ideas on my twrp / fastboot issue?
Hello!! i come to the best forum desperately looking for help after three days of weird behaviour, i had already rooted my galaxy tab 3 10.1 using a guide i found here on xda-developers months ago, i cant remember which one, it used Odin and custom recovery says BinDroid CWM-based recovery v6.0.2.8, it was successfully rooted, installed busybox 1.21.1 (stericsson) almost all root apps working fine, but some of them like network spoofer or dsploit telling that busybox was not installed correctly or some binary could not be found, im not a tech noob, but definitely new to android, so one day i tried installing them both in /system/xbin and /system/bin because some apps read from one directory or the other and the dual install would not be harmful for the device, also installed it symlinking with manual install, after i did that, those apps worked finally!! but, root checker said my device was not rooted anymore... so weird
So i tried rooting again over CWM, same method and still showing no root access, i decided then to make a full factory reset, after doing that, wifi is stuck on "obtaining ip address" avoided slow connection, it only connects when i set a static ip, some problem with dhcp i guess, and also, super user app is still there but showing no SU found and not able to uninstall the app, only shows the option, enable and disable, tired of this, i followed this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2625805 with both ROMs in order to go back to stock, both installed just fine, but i saw "installing busybox" during the process, is that suposed to happen with a stock rom? i mean the first one on the thread suposed to be the stock one, and the second rom is not showing root access on root checker either, even though the author says it is rooted ... at least super user app is no longer there, but both ROMs still stuck on "obtaining ip" bucle, and now it got worse, most apps downloaded are not working, chrome for example opens for a second and closes, other apps open, but only show a black screen and the notification bar, i uploaded the root.zip i used for rooting in first place, please tell me if there is something left to do to fix this, anything, i would really apreciate it!!
Apologize my bad english and my ignorance on android... thanks for reading and all help in advance!!
