bypass battery limit without root - Note 7 Questions & Answers

Hi guys, could someone explain to me clearly how to get my battery level back to 100% on my galaxy note 7?
I would like to do everything without giving root permits. I have searched on the forum but sadly i couldn't find a step by step guide to help me.
Model: SM-N930F
Android version: 6.0.1
Kernel version: 3.18.14-9450328
Build version: MMB29K.N930FXXU2BPJ9
Baseband version: N930FXXU2BPJ5
Serial number: RFH8H91FDMKW

I think you have to root once the update is on your device as the only way to remove it once it is on the device is to change the firmware.

no that's not true, you do not require root to flash firmware via odin..in fact if your already rooted doing so will unroot your device. but yes you need flash the previous firmware in odin to remove the charging killing update
the important part is keeping the OTA from happening again. most of the package diasablers i know of have been updated and dont work now.
there is an ADB method but the easiest way to prevent it is rooting but the OP doesnt want to root so he is going to ha e to research the other methods i mentioned to find something that works.
short if that get used re flashing the previous firnware over and ovet to get back full charging capability.

no you wont lose anything at all unless you factory reset...that will wipe your device.
that said sometimes a factory reset is needed after flashing in odin so i would move anything you want to keep to your ext SD card just in case then move it back after.
your English is fine my friend no worries!

Thanks to your help, I think I can flash the old rom. Regarding the updates, I would like to use this app: "package disabler pro 6.2"
What do you think about that?

https://youtu.be/i04r3S6YIY0
Hope this helps to avoid 60% battery update.

Hi, I'm having a problem downgrading back to before the update. I have the FD version.
If I try to flash the bootloader in Odin, it tells me unsupport dev type and crashes. If i try to flash the twrp, it tells me custom OS installation is locked. What do I need to do? I am noob, never done this before. Please let me know what I need to do to fix this?

Just start reading here from post #204:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-7/help/dont-update-package-disabler-pro-want-t3489243/page21
However, maybe it's not working for you, if you were already hit by an android security patch in the firmware you actually have. It differs depending from your country or provider specific version. But if you don't get the java.lang.SecurityException, all will be fine. Just try.

WHATS THIS?
This is my port of CF-AUTOROOT for the Samsung Galaxy TAB E.
You flash this at your own risk. Please ensure you have the stock ROM to hand downloaded from SAMMOBILE or a TWRP backup in case of problems. This will trip the knox counter.
Flash with ODIN 3.10.7 in the AP slot.
Load the respective file below into the AP slot and hit start.

NOTE: ON SOME 5.1.1 DEVICES IT IS NECESSARY TO GO TO:

AND ENABLE OEM UNLOCK FIRST OR YOU MAY ENCOUNTER 'BLOCKED BY FRP LOCK' WHEN FLASHING.

Any suggestions on getting pass an FRP lock? My niece tried to root it but didn't turn on the enable OEM unlock. I just literally got it so don't have a back up and stock rom is no where I can find online even tried the Samsung Switch software and the T377P is not an option.

That was my plan ...however they do not support this model number yet so its not available to be reflashed. I checked sammobile as well figuring I could download firmware and use Odin to reflash and same situation.
There's a chance the sm-t377R4 firmware may flash as it's practically identical to the sprint firmware just a different csc.
Okay....will try and find that one.
Hi, I had a question. The Samsung Tab E is my first android device (I am a IOS user, so i know how to Jailbreak, but I don't know how to root!). My friend told me to root it, but I don't really know how to do it. Can you post a step by step tutorial. Also, after i rooted can i update my device to a newer version or do i have to remove the root. Lastly, how do you back up your device? Thank you! I appreciate your hard work!

You can follow the tutorial below, it's for the Tab A but the procedure is identical.
Obviously don't use the cf_autoroot file in the tutorial use the one here. Also note the PDA button in Odin is now called AP.

You can update your device with odin anytime you want but not via ota.
To back up you device you need to install TWRP.
Search Google for info on using TWRP.

I tried the t377R4 firmware that didn't work. Any idea on where I could track down a copy of the t377p? Odd I can't even use the Samsung Smart Switch or even Kies as it doesn't recognize the model number. Or if anyone has a backup available they can share please let me know.
I have a US Cellular Samsung Tab E SM-T377R4 and I rooted it using the procedure below. The root process went fine and everything is working well except Recovery Mode does not work. It just boots to a black blank screen when I try to go to Recovery Mode. But that's no big deal to me.

Surprised recovery doesn't work, considering the 2 devices are identical specs.
Try installing Twrp, you'll probably find that works OK.

What's the issue?
Rooting gone bad... Rooted my SM-T377P with KingRoot and there is an FRP Lock that comes up a week later. All of the custom ROM versions I have keep getting rejected by ODIN every time I try to flash them. The only other way I can think of doing this is to flash the stock ROM for the device.

Revert to 5.1.1? (noob post)

I was not aware that rooting would be much easier on 5.1.1 so i updated my phones software after being annoyed with putting of the update every day. I have searched all over the internet for a safe way to revert back to 5.1.1 from 6.0.1 and most of the stuff i found was simply for the s6. If any of you know if its possible to flash back or of a way to flash back or a link to a thread i might've missed that may help i would appreciate it. Thanks! (btw im on N910V and Verizon if that makes any difference)
find the firmware and flash it via Odin. there's a bunch of threads that could link you to the appropriate files.

So just to be clear, would it be as simple as putting into download mode and flashing it? And if the thread is meant for a different phone but is reverting from the same version i am running would it still work? Also would i have to worry about killing my SD card or is the safer than rooting a phone? Sorry for the questions I am just quite interested in getting this solved and i don't know who to ask.

not really sure what you mean by your second question, but I wouldn't be flashing anything that's made for another phone. but yeah, it's pretty simple and straightforward...and I don't think there's much risk, unless if you were to unplug your phone half way through the flash or something. it doesn't corrupt your SD card like the rooting process does. make sure you back up any of your important data beforehand.

thanks for upload ! i'm not in US this is the only way i can upgrade my phone !
in the US but now a cricket-eer. Thanks for the file.
I can't wait to try this when I get home tonight.
The 1.99GB file size is so intimidating as though this one is REALLY packed with extra AT&T bloatware
I'm rocking nougat and I love it...but i want the latest security patch outside the US...i had to sideload to get to nougat...
Is there a way I can use VPN to enable my phone get updates outside the US?

thanks!, last time i did adb sideload (C6 to D1) and i got problems wich home and power button, auto press / autoclick it Without having pressed, i think can be google screenseach new function which hijacks the home button and when it is not turned on it does not return to the normal state of the phone
*i solved temporaly doing restore device form options menu, but it reappears from time to time without having pressed, Fixed if you do not configure or start googleseachapp (temporaly)
*Now downloading file and coming soon installing from odin an odin fresh installation from last version is better than doing adb sideload from B2 or older

Downloading this through Odin - would that be considered tampering? - I have had 7.0 on a sprint note 5 and I loved it. I now have an AT&T note 5 on cricket and I have to wait for cricket to come out with the update ... zzz .... does samsung s health and pay still work after flashing through Odin? I'm only using this phone until the new note phones come out, so I don't want to mess up selling this phone by downloading through Odin. - thanks in advance.

OK just to be clear - making sure before I download this since with 7.0 there's no going back - This doesn't trip Knox or Samsung? I don't want to mess anything up just want 7.0 now instead of waiting months or so for the update through cricket. Thanks in advance. Also, I seen a post say this is just a partial/half of 7.0 is that fixed or us this still just half of the 7.0 upgrade?
can someone make a google drive mirror? because I have 1gb limit in mega

No. This is an official ROM with matching modem bootloader, and recovery. It will not trip Knox.
ok last question - is this the full 7.0 now? I see the title says full but there was a post saying this was just partial of the update.
Yes, this is the FULL 7.0
hello.
im a newbie to samsung and odin although i have had success with other samsung phones and odin a while back and after reading tons of info this is where i am at :: (i know the nougat file isnt the same but im guess the procedure is the same) . i read that updating via odin you can jump basebands, however im guessing that is not true. my baseband ends en 3BPH4
i downloaded >> Nougat_N920AUCU4EQC6_Odin_Files.zip (2.0G) <<
from here https://www.androidsage.com/2017/03...ndroid-7-0-nougat-ota-n920aucu4eqc6-download/
fyi >> im using virutalbox windows 7 and odin to try to do this <<
after i unzip the files i get four tar files
AP_N920AUCU4EQC6_CL10809541_QB12921033_REV00_user_ lo w_ship_meta.tar
CSC_ATT_N920AATT4EQC6_CL10809541_QB12921033_REV00_ use r_low_ship.tar
CP_N920AUCU4EQC6_CP6021124_CL10809541_QB12921033_R EV 00_user_low_ship.tar
BL_N920AUCU4EQC6_CL10809541_QB12921033_REV00_user_ lo w_ship.tar
i select each one as per requested slot in odin and then hit start and then odin crashes.
since that didnt work i opend the ap.xxx.tar.rar for the ap slot and hit start. there was some activity int he odin message box. firmware update start. single download..... and left it like that for over 30 minutes and there was no change. so i shut the phone off and restarted and nochange on the phone.
THEN i opened that ap.xxx.tar.rar file and saw that there was tar.md5 file inside. extracted and repeated the process and since i dont have a pda slot i choose to open under the ap slot.
so far same deal. odin message says NAND Write Start.
(im starting to believe that headers are not correct and doesnt want to follow through withe update)
if someone can guide me in the right direction or help where i went wrong. do i really have download 20gb of 10 updates for each step by step update to get to nougat and adb sideload?? cuz that is crazy. any help to get my note 5 lolipop to nougat is much appreciated.
also, if there is any knowledgeable buddy out there, since im on the 3BPH4 endind baseband is it rootable? (without loosing root when you reboot)
either way i dont care much about root but would definitely like tobe flashin roms etc, but as for now i just want to get to nougat

haha sure but i dont know which one is the right firmware, i bought the phone from a local store, without specific carrier for the phone.
also, i was able to find my IMEI written on the back cover of the phone.
is it possible to write the IMEI into the phone and just to make it work?
also, when im entering recovery mode to wipe the phone for new firmware installation, it says ""failed to find /misc partition"

I've heard of your situation when flashing older modem/bootloader in a custom rom.
You seem to know enough to grab odin and flash, that's a lot more than many so that's good. Not sure who sold you the phone, but if you want to rule out anything shady I suggest running the IMEI to check on the status.
What country are you in? Where did you download from? And did the phone bootloop soon after attempting to use it with a new SIM?
I looked on sammobile and the only information I could use shows multiple countries. My phone bootloops all the time but that's called learning.
Download the phone info app... heck you might as well go all out and put twrp on it and root/install custom rom. Go all in.... i'll be here waiting...

Honestly, though... grab the phone info app in the playstore and post the results.
If you THINK it may be stolen and got ripped off, don't put a SIM in it.
Not sure if it is true, but I think it can be rendered unusable if it is hot. But most likely it's just hurtin' from a sour flash. Phone info... (twrp is easy and a touch of magisk will give more info if you get stuck) but I am a rookie.
You in Israel? Can only be one firmware there... flash a Palestinian firmware. It won't... ya know... nevermind.

Question Baseband Version UNKNOWN

Tried everything. Searched through the webs for past couple of days. Everything failed.
Majority of articles are from times of Ancient Rome. None work and are outdated.
Reflashed stock with nand erase and pit file. Checked and failed.
Tried root related solutions? Checked and failed.
Searched modem file. Failed.
Downgrade to prev version? No longer plausible. Due to BIT.
I flashed and reflashed with odin numerious of times. Nothing. Useless. Absolutely useless.
did u solve it?
Did you guys find anything? I think I'm gonna go check at a repair shop for someone with the z3x box and hope for the best.

Nope, he said no matter what rom he flashed it was always unknown IMEI.
However I found something interesting, turns out my IMEI and baseband numbers are intact when I check them from recovery. Maybe downgrading this phone should fix that, although I'm not sure if it is possible.

no, its not possible because of the bit.... can you try using an old modem to see if it solves the problem?

its the CP file in odin
try flashing one from may or august.. don't try november or newer
You need to download an older firmware (older than november, never try that ****ty november update!) of your country's a32 and use just the cp file

I'll get an older firmware from sammobile and get back to you if anything different happens. Just as a note, someone here on XDA said they were able to downgrade when using a Magisk altered ROM.
Edit: I found something similar on another samsung phone here on XDA: thread here.

Could you flash it with a magisk modified rom?
@Mighty_Rearranger maybe you could try flashing an android 12 gsi? https://forum.xda-developers.com/t/...sing-odin-without-twrp-phh-lineageos.4114435/ I don't have the phone with me right now so I can't test it

OK I tried doing that and now phone is bootlooping with secure check fail md1img error, that's the anti-downgrade thing complaining. No luck down the downgrade hallway.
I think the only option is to wait for a possible solution from the Magisk people or check if a future update somehow fixes the problem.

how do you check them from recovery? I was able to see them once after a botched flashing, entering download mode, there was a "show barcode" option or something like that.
I have read in an older thread in this forum, some guy solved it by downgrading, but to a version which is impossible to downgrade to for us, because our phones already came with the AUJ4 firm, and acannot go back.
