Ps4 controller will connect through Bluetooth but won't function at all. Anyone able to test and see if they can get Thiers working? I'm on Verizon version so no root sadly.
Hard to believe no one has ps4 controller to test

After seeing Transformer Prime + Logitech F710 in action, how do we get the same from HTC One X? Tegra 3 was said to support all game controllers like PS3, XBOX360. Does it really work and how to do it so there would be no apps needed like sixaxis and no compatibility issues?
i bought a ps3 controller just for this, but as I sent my first HOX back because of backlight flickering and haven't received a new one yet I haven't been able to try it. I don't think it will work via bluetooth without something like the sixaxis app.
Cant get my ps3 controller connected with the Sixaxis app, the compatibility checker says I'm compatible, used the sixaxispairtool to change the master Bluetooth on my controller to match the phone but when trying to pair it just says no controller found.
There is a video on YouTube of it working on a HOX with stock rooted ROM but I'm using Coredroid.
EDIT
Scratch that, managed to get it working, instructions on the sixaxis devs website a a bit misleading. Makes Shodowgun so much easier
Is it possible to use the Logitech 710 with the HTC One X? If so, how does it work?
I've been trying to get the app Wiimotecontroller to connect a Wii remote to my Captivate Glide so I can use it with emulators but with no luck. Apparently you can get it working on the regular Captivate with Cyanogenmod, but there's no rom for the Captivate Glide yet. It sounds like the problem is with the Bluetooth stack. Does anyone know of a way to get Wii remotes working with the Captivate Glide?
I know of one controller app that might work...
Sixaxis controller works for PS3 controllers and maybe XBox you can google the program to change the Bluetooth address on the controller to match you phones address.

Xbox controllers do not use Bluetooth.
So, I realize that anybody can plug a ps4 controller into their phone with an acessory and play, but...
Without rooting your Android device, is it possible to use a PS4 controller over bluetooth?
I searched, and I stumbled upon this vid:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z1Ejqh8dYes
but I don't know how legitimate it is
Anybody here tried doing it?
Here's the app that supposedly let's use wirelessly connect your PS4 controller to your phone without rooting:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.poke64738.usbjoygold&hl=en
Also, in that page it says that it used a "USB BT CSR Dongle"
I have no idea what that is, though you can apparently find it here:

Anybody know what's up with that?
Thanks!

Having upgraded to the latest version of the excellent MaximusHD ROM + stock kernel,
I was disappointed to discover that the Sixaxis app does not work in MM, so I cant use my PS3 controller.
So as an alternative, I tried my Wireless Xbox 360 controller, but could not get it to work.
I made sure I have a keylaout file (Vendor_045e_Product_0719.kl) and keychars file (Vendor_045e_Product_0719.kcm)for the wireless controller.
I unfortunately dont have a wired controller to test.
I did notice that there is no xpad.ko under lib/modules - is that still needed?
Does the stock kernel not support the 360 controller?
Any workarounds to get it to work?
Any input is appreciated.
For anyone interested - best solution I've found is to use ElementelX combined with "Sixaxis Enabler" app.
You will have to use the ps3 controller plugged in (no wireless), but at least you can still use it in Marshmallow.
Still no luck in getting the xbox wireless receiver to work though.
Hello, I've recently bought a PS4 controller and I successfully paired it with my phone but the problem is that it doesn't detect any key presses... I've tried the same controller on PC and another phone (running Android KitKat) and it's working fine.
Is this a software issue? How can I fix it? Have anyone tried this too?
Up. Anyone could test this with at least any Bluetooth controller? I heard that s10 had a similar issue and it got solved by an update.

Most devices just don't have the keylayout files for controllers. Unfortunately, there's no easy way to make them work.
If you have magisk, there's a module called 1controller which you can just install to get that file.
If you don't, I also have the specific file you need to get into /system/etc/keylayout, but obviously, you're gonna need root for that.
I'm having the same problem too.
can you please upload a link
my gamesir g4 works fine

The default connection via bluetooth using Playstation controllers doesnt work. Or it doesnt fully work at least. I have experienced it on my ps3 and PS4 controller. The only way a controller works is from a Bluetooth Controller made for Android. Or if you really want to use PS controller, you need an app called Sixaxis Controller.
If your phone is not rooted, the only way to do it is by using sixaxis and connect the PS controller directly via Wire. The sixaxis for the wired and wireless are different so dont buy it on the playstore right away
If you have rooted Access, then you can connect it wirelessly bia the sixaxis app.
Only then it will work as it should be.
The thing is, it actually works with my low-end tablet. So why not with this expensive phone?
Works fine with my Xbox One controller. Son uses it to play minecraft...

Wired or wireless?
Actually, after September update, I just tried to controller again and it's perfectly working through bluetooth.
Xbox One controller works fine via bluetooth, buttons are already mapped.

I dont know what tablet it is but it might be a feature of the tablet. Ps4 controllers have D-Input mapping while android works natively with X-input controllers. Xbox controllers work right away as it works under X-Input
Sixaxis converts that input to a readable input for the android if youll use a ps4 controller.
Edit: good that you had it working.
