"Look" of the device (aesthetics) - OnePlus 3T Real Life Review

Is the OnePlus 3T as good-looking as you are (despite your receding hairline, adult-onset acne, and massive weight gain)? Rate this thread to express whether you think the OnePlus 3T is attractive. A higher rating indicates that you would even go as far to say that the OnePlus 3T is a beautiful phone.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!

This is the most beautiful device I've ever had. I think it falls shortly just against the S8!

I've got the midnight black version. Definitely a beauty but not a total standout.

Love the overall design of the phone which seems to have been inspired by HTC M9 and 10 with some from iPhone. Best design IMO of any OnePlus phone. Looks great in gunmetal without being flashy.

One thing I hate about this phone is that it is so beautiful, but I can't find a good solid case in which it looks good. I have the Spigen NeoHybrid case and it looks very bulky. The phone without the case is amazing

how is it compared to a Nexux 6P?

Sena leather case for the OnePlus One

This is a very quick review of the Sena iPhone 6 Plus case, which I ordered for my other phone, but as I use the OnePlus as my main phone, I wanted to know if it would fit.
The good news is that the dimensions of the iphone 6 plus are really close to the OnePlus, the phone fits really well width wise (important as too small and it would slide out, to tight and it would turn the phone off. Yes I have tried this in the past with a different Sena case and a Nexus 4, not good!).
The phone is a little shorter that the iphone 6, so the OnePlus doesn't go all the way to the end, but that in itself isn't an issue and provides a little bit more edge protection.
This kind of case is designed to give a small amount of protection in the pocket (mainly from my keys) and look good when it gets thrown around the place.
It isn't going to protect from drops, and it won't work with a phone already in a case.
Why did I pick this case? For the style and quality, its not cheap but I'd definitely recommend it.
I love Sena cases, I have 2 from when I had my iphone 4s and I also got them for my S4 and Note 1&2
One of them was a Corsa which was the same colours as my Gulf racing overnight bag. They are expensive but they are also very good quality.

Ergonomics (in-hand feel)

Please, no "that's what she said" jokes. Rate this thread to express how you think the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 feels in-hand. A higher rating indicates that it's comfortable to hold for long periods of time, even in one hand. Resist the urge to say "TWSS" just now. Seriously.

Very slim super light sturdy quality. Amazing. Much better than my previous note 3.

Probably the most comfortable device i have owned and does not feel like your holding a device with 5.7" screen.

This! I was skeptical as I hated the feel of the S7 Edge, but this just feels like it was designed around my hand! Seriously, did Samsung actually get a mould of my hand and sculpt the phone to it?
If there was a bit of a textured grip (not just glass) on the back, it would be perfect, but it definitely feels great!

Agree, feels great in my hand.
I've owned all of the Note phones since the 2 and this is by far the best/lightest/most comfortable version of the phone I've ever owned.
Is it just me or this phone is really not slippery? I don't know if it's gorilla glass 5 or a coating they put on the phone but it's nowhere as slippery as the oneplus 3, LG G5 metallic phones. Nothing like the s7 edge actually. Am I imagining this?

It's a toss-up between 4 and 5 stars, so I'll just rate it a 4. For the quality of the phone's appearance, of course you're going to sacrifice some durability, but considering the incredibly vibrant design, it's durable. If you're going to be using it while active, just get an Otterbox Defender.
3/5 stars for durability sacrifice that comes with the external design.
5/5 stars for the actual FEEL of the phone. Weight, grip, size.
5/5 stars for the actual LOOK. My god it's beautiful.

You are perfectly right.
I actually prefer the wider body of the note 3 - 5
I'm sure it's because I'm soooo used to the other size, but I prefer the wider notes
Also the other notes fit PERFECTLY in the top steering wheel opening... with the case it would actually lock into place while driving and Netflixing !! I've got to find a solution for this one
Nice premium feel. Finally a Note device with feel matching price. Symmetric design is definitely a way forward. It does however feel a bit slippery like you're about to drop that thing, but there are nice slim cases available to address that. Used n2, n4 and this one is best one so far. Great screen to body ratio and that almost bezel free look... Well pleased with it.

Unfortunately Samsung has lost a lot of losses with this release note 7
Everyone is talking about how comfortable it feels, but what about how slippery it is? In my opinion the sloped edges design is a disaster in every aspect, I'd rather have a sharp edge like on Note 3 that secures a $900 device in my hand than "feel comfortable" with huge chance that it can easily slip away.

Once I had the ghost armor installed on the back it wasn't slippery.
And it won't get scratched either

Ultra thin case like Peel (tpu or other)?

Hey all. I'm looking for an ultra thin case similar to the case that peel makes for the iPhone. I haven't seen them post anything for the 3T or others yet. Anyone have any suggestions?

Hi,
Since before OP3T I had iphone 7 and both Peel's (Super Thin iPhone 7
Case) and Caudabe's (The Veil XT) cases, I was also looking for something similar, but I can tell you that there is nothing similar to it, but I must say that original OnePlus 3/3T Karbon Case is awesome and you should definitely give it a try (before I went for Karbon Case I tested few noname TPU cases (don't like how TPU felt in hand), original Ebony Wood Case (it simply would not fit (not sure if mine was from a bad batch, but it was going over volume buttons) and Sandstone Case (don't like the feel of it at all(its like holding a sandpaper) + its much bulkier than Karbon Case)
OnePlus 3/3T Karbon Case:
1. I would definitely say its more slim than bulky;
2. Not only it protects the phone from scratches on the back, but it also allows you to put it face down (are 4 corners how these little up-going lips which protect the screen when its put face down)'
3. Probably the best part about is the feel - Karbon Case has real DuPont fiber) which is not only light, but creates great grip and has almost leather feel.
offtopic in regard of iphone 7 cases / peel cases:
p.s. I believe that Caudabes Veil XT was the best case I've ever had on a phone and it was definitely better than peel, because (1) peel case lacked grip an (2) caudabe's veil xt fits iphone 7 as close as it gets (with veil xt its almost impossible to tell that the phone has case).
There is a new leather back cover for the op3 by OnePlus.

Thanks for the reply and recommendations. I ended up choosing the karbon case from OnePlus. I actually like that carbon fibre look and even better if you can feel the weave of the fibre.. Cheers! Btw how has it been holding up for you?

Its too early to judge, but currently its holding up great. It also must be noted that I am actually phone-case hater, so if I actually like a case, it must be very good I consider cases bad since they take away all the looks and design, so the max I go for in case the phone does require a case (too fragile/slippery back) is scratch resistant cases like the mentioned Caudabe's The Veil XT Iphone 7 cases which is the best ever used/seen. OP3T is super-slippery, therefore having no case on it is not an option. I would call it the most slippery phone ever used (even more than Xiaomi Mi5)[/B][/U].

Since u have used both mi5 and op3t which one is better in your opinion mostly concerning camera

I think Nillkin Nature is the best option, but maybe the karbon case is good too.

Strictly from focus perspective and moving objects I liked mi5 camera better, but now after some time with OP3T I have learned the skill to take decent pictures of moving objects even with OP3T, so I am definitely voting for OP3T.
MI5 looks good on paper and in pictures, but MI5 has zero premium feel when you actually hold it in your hand. It feels cheap when you hold it in the hand + the design of it is not ideal (to be honest its home button is one of the ugliest ever). OP3T on the other hand feels awesome to hold - same premium feel you have with top flagship phones. In comparison to my previous iphone 7 I do not feel like I downgraded in terms of overall design and how it feels in hand, except maybe for the horrendous camera bump (similar as on galaxy s6..then again latest iphone now also has a camera bump), but its not an issue if you get a case for it, like the awesome Karbon Case by OnePlus :good:

2nd this, have the case, it's also good with the curved official TGSP

If the s8(and +) are waterproof, why are companies selling waterproof cases?

This video:
http://mashable.com/2017/03/30/samsung-galaxy-s8-underwater-unboxing/#Gw2DaJt6Qaqi
Shows an unboxing of the S8 underwater, yet, I found this case that is, well, waterproof.
https://www.lifeproof.com/en-us/galaxy-s8-/fre-for-galaxy-s8-/lpfr-sam-gs8-plus.html
Can anyone explain what that means and why anyone would buy a waterproof case for a waterproof device?
I would've figured it added a deeper submersible rating but it looks to be the same so dunno... I guess it can't hurt to have two layers of protection from water lol
Its not water proof but water resistant with a rating of IP68
so the water cases might have a higher rating meaning you can swim with it and do other things.
The normal rating isnt all that for being largely around water. Its mainly meant for spills and slips into small amounts of water then pulled out and dry off.
And same thing with the other phones.

**Answer I got back from Lifeproof about my asking why they're selling a waterproof case for an already waterproof device**
Thank you for reaching out to us. That is a great question. Our response is: While LifeProof cases deliver extended waterproof protection to Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ (6.6 feet for up to an hour), our cases are so much more than waterproof. They also provide 6.6 feet of drop protection, a complete seal from dirt and scratch protection that can help extend the life of your device. It’s a perfect companion for people with active lifestyles.
On a personal side, I have found that when I upgrade phones, I do get a better trade in value with the phones that have been in cases than on the phones that were not. Thanks for reaching out to us and have a great day.

Ergonomics (in-hand feel)

Please, no "that's what she said" jokes. Rate this thread to express how you think the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 / S7 Plus feels in-hand. A higher rating indicates that it's comfortable to hold for long periods of time, even in one hand. Resist the urge to say "TWSS" just now. Seriously.
Then, drop a comment if you have anything to add!
They put sharp edges on a 575 gram device, Tab S7+, which is already pretty thin, and that means the full weight is concentrated on a tiny surface area when holding this device. It is between uncomfortable and painful, just horrible ergonomics for the sake of appearance. The edges and the sides should have been more rounded for better pressure distribution..
I am so confused, this is my dream tablet on many aspects, and at the same time it is so uncomfortable to hold I'm thinking of returning it back. I did not expect this, I've owned a few tablets and never had a similar issue. Will I get used to it, or will I sent back?
I always put my tablet in some kind of aftermarket case that protects the sides and corners. Considering the cost of the devices, having a naked tablet around make nervous.
This $10 case from Amazon is thin, light and protrudes a little over the edges.
https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08G8KJG1Y/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
An update. I did not see the replies until now but I had the same thoughts to buy a case to protect my fingers from the tablet and not the other way around but I have to agree with the comrade above that such a device deserves protection anyway. A case for a tenner from Amazon and the inconvenience of the sharp edges is gone. They only have a transparent one at the moment, looking to buy a black one in the future. The case fits like a glove and I'm quite happy with it.
I feel nothing sharp or even uncomfortable. It's a little heavier s7+ than my s6. Only thing that hurts is the price. Will probably return just do to it not being worth price as upgrade. Otherwise I think its a great tablet
Lucked out...
I returned the s7 plus. Was honest that it was due to price. Next day same tablet was on sale open box for 599. I buy lot of open box , never my own returns before.
