Try to flash a recovery with Rashr, backup system (optionally use titanium to backup single applications you want to restore after wipe) and then do the wipe/factory reset.
Eventually, if the flash mode is not "restored" after that procedure, try to flash a stock/custom firmware with Rashr
Ok guys thanks for help... I use different version of flashtools n done... Thanks every one
Hi @yanu5765 , what flashtool version solved your problem?
I'm in the same situation...
Thanks

Ok so here is what happened:
I'm a very beginner to Android. And my Defy is rooted.
Then I found this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=977989&page=1
I thought it would be cool to have a gray statusbar.. So I went to recovery, and applied the "Barebones_13-signed.zip" renamed update.zip
It said installation successful (i think) then I rebooted my phone.
Now it's STUCK on the M logo!!!
I really don't know what to do :'(
Tried everything;
Remove battery and reboot.
Plugged phone and reboot.
Went to bootloader (I even don't know what's that )
PLEASE HELP ME :'(

Did this and it worked
THANK YOU!!

try installing the custom rom again, and go into stock recovery. when you see the little triangle press vol + and vol - at the same time. youll get a menu(navigate with the volume keys). go to wipe data and press the screen lock key(the one at the top) reboot, then youre sorted.

xperia arc boot loop Reflash Stock ROM or your backup.
HI,
Thank you..
I'm sorry I'm still new about these things
I just can't flash it because my back-up is .img file..
And I don't know how to flash .img files..
Thank you again..
I've tried downgrading the kernel into .431 firmware (which is compatible to the theme that I tried)
but still, boot looping..
please help
What I did is that..
1. tried to flash a theme for .431 firmware
2. boot it using CWM v5
3. then, after rebooting the device, boot loop happens
I can't enter CWM on the sony logo (or I am pressing the wrong button)
now I can't flash back to my nandroid back up.. :'(
please help ..

download flashtool, install it under a Windows pc download stock FTF file and flash it into your phone
---------- Post added at 04:10 PM ---------- Previous post was at 04:03 PM ----------
And get a stock image here: http://uploaded.net/f/bd4cif
Hi thank you..
I just did the flashing
But still, boot loops ..
I really don't know the problem :'(
Here is what I did to install that theme..
● Copy the .zip to your sdcard
● Boot into CMW
● MAKE A NANDROID BACKUP
● Did you make a nandroid backup?
● If not, go away from this thread immediately!
● Flash the .zip
● Clear Dalvik Cache
● Reboot
● For wallpaper, Xperia S lockscreen, deodex/supercharge/LED fix check post #3.
● Enjoy!!!
i really don't know if that clearing that Dalvik Cache caused the problem..
I really don't know
pls help ..
Did you even read the previous posts? These say everything how to fix your phone.
And if you got bootloop, doing it the same way will not make it any better, it will just result the same - bootloop!

How can your nandroid backup be a .IMG file?
Sent from my Xperia Arc S using xda premium
I print screen how I did the flashing
(and I think I'm doing it wrong)
Flashtool only tells that a device is connected but never stated what model is connected..
After flashing, still ..

dont use CWM v5. reflash to stock firmware, download 'x-parts' from play, and istall cwm with that app and see what happens
Hi (my first post at xda!),
I once had a nasty BootLoop like you have. actually, even worse - at some stage, the phone didn't start at all - AND usb wasn't responding... worst case scenario lol.
Be advised, this will bring you to clean stock unrooted phone.
- What you need to do, is restore the original rom+kernel (stock), using SEUS ("Sony Ericsson Update Service") software (download it).
- You'll need to connect the phone with a special recovery mode enabled, by plugging the usb cable to it while holding The Other Button (Back button) that gives A GREEN led light (this is NOT Fastboot mode that shows BLUE led light).
- After the phone is connected in that manner, simply follow the instructions in SEUS and let it download and flash the original software.
From here, you'll have a factory-new unrooted stock rom+stock kernel device, but you'll probably manage with re-flashing and restoring your Nandroid afterwards.
- Use this as a last resort, as it's what they call "The long way".
Get back to us with the results.
Mike.

It's not a special recovery mode it's the standard flash mode, but this is basically what you've been advised to do on the last page.
Similar case:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1689420
So I made a stupid mistake but know where. This is not my first time to flash roms and karnels, but don't know where did I go wrong...
So here goes the story:
I had Racing Bean for a while and then I decided to change so I wanted to try the new Kit Kat
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2545367
First I went back to stock 0.587 (because I never did before) and then I forgot to install recoveryX.
After that I flashed the karnel (nAa karnel)
So now I can't go in to recovery to install the rom and wipe the system
I tried.
Volume Down
Volume Down + Home
Home + (Connecting the cable)
Volume Up + Connecting the cable
Maybe something more but can't remember
What should I do? Thanks in advance
ARC S (LT18i)
BTW: When the legacy logo loads a purple light blinks but nothing...
Well if you have flashed the kernel you should be able to boot to recovery... Turn on phone...as soon as logo comes keep pressing any button... The purple led will change to blue and it should take you to recovery...

Thank you, but one quick question while you are here....
I want to install Legacy Xperia, what karnel should I flash?
After I flash it I go to recovery and Install the zip (wipe the data, already coppied all the files) right?

Usually kernel is inside the Rom (zip file) when u download, u should go with that kernel for best compatibility.
copy the zip file to sdcard
extract the zip to get .img file, flash your device with that file.
enter the recovery and install the zip file u copied
wipe cache, data ...
install gapps if u want
wipe again
reboot

The problem is I can't enter the revovery mode, it's really strange..
The logo starts to load (vibrates) and the purple light blinks and it's gone, so now stuck again.....
Thank you all
Never had this case.... I will wait for a while because of the first boot but didn't have this problem before.....
BTW: I use the V. Down to go in recovery (CWM 5 installed before this!!)
EDIT:
1.1 (optional): If the device is not booting, reboot to bootloader again and run:
fastboot erase system
fastboot erase userdata
Should I try this? One thing to check how do you go to bootloader on arc s (flashmod?)

yes, you should try:

fastboot erase userdata

Re-flash with Odin but don't check anything except f.reset time. Once you see reset in the status window, remove USB cable, remove battery, replace battery, boot into recovery.
fixed it

yes it can be fixed it, you just need to flash boot.img from latest cm12.zip just download it, if you already have it you just need to extract it with winrar and flash that kernel using flashtool in fastboot mode. first connect your phone in fastboot mode to your pc and open flashtool after that open the lightning icon and select fastboot mode, after that choose select kernel to flash and choose that boot.img from cm12. and wait it until finished. after that copy cm12.zip to your external storage and insert again your memory card to your phone and turn it on.
after sony logo is up hit vol up button until led is change from pink to blue and you will enter to cmrecovery. after that install cm12 file from that recovery after that do a wipe data and restart your device.
done
Have try
