So i bought my m8 2 days ago, but it was on the lollipop version and i wanted to update it to android 6.0 but the software update didn't showed up, so i downloaded this Htc One M8 Official Marshmallow Flashable OTA Update ZIP File.
And i entered into recovery and tried to install it, first it showed a little progress, then it rebooted and got stuck on the htc logo.
I think that my phone model is diffrent that the model that i recently downloaded.
help me plz.

*get a working adb&fastboot by going to this thread

*reboot to fastboot and connect your device to pc
*open cmd window
* type ( fastboot getvar all ) and press enter
*post the result here after removing serialno and imei

I recently unlocked the bootloader and installed the latest ClockWork Mod Recovery 5.8.3.1 on my HTC One X. I was trying to install the Android Revolution HD theme on my phone, it didn't install and when I restarted my phone - it got stuck on 'HTC quietly brilliant screen'.
I have tried a lot of the tutorials but I am having no luck and am very sad and frustrated with my phone now.
I updated my phone to software version 1.28 before doing all the above. Right now my phone is unlocked and the CWM is installed and works.
I downloaded the RUU for my phone which is:
RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_ICS_40_H3G_UK_1.26.771.2_Radio_1.1204.90.13H_release_251403_signed
Whenever, I try to run the RUU there is some kind of problem. At first it was battery below 30%, now it was get the correct version.
I tried flashing boot.img and system.img via command prompt but the system.img flash does not work for some reason.
I know that in order to run the RUU, I need lock the bootloader and I think I need a stock recovery.
But I am confused, the RUU is 1.26, but my phone software was 1.28 - so what do I do?

I bought my HTC one (m8 ) last week and have been trying to upgrade from android 4.4.3 kitkat using OTA but it says that my phone is up to date, which I know is not right. I tried to do it manually by downloading some zips from htcdev which didn't work. The one which came closest to working gave an error after verifying the package saying that it does not detect 4.4.4. I want to update to lollipop and would really appreciate if you told me which zip exactly I need to do that coming from 4.4.3. My imei is 352628060356880, my software number is 2.22.401.5. Boot loader locked, (S-Off), stock recovery.
You should bump your other thread, not start a new one.
First .. delete that imei no., never post them on open forum.
Second .. post fastboot getvar all result without serial & imei no. This will help people to identify your problem to help you.

My HTC ONE M9 shown that there is an update to marshemellow called (Bad Boyz Sprint ) ..
After Downloading the rom through the PC i unocked the bootloader and installed the rom from recovery
when the install finished show that its Succefull....but when i reboot the device it just open in the bootloader not the Android OS.
Is the problem in the rom or What ?!!
Hello guys I have an M9 unlocked with s-off, android 7.0 with twrp 2.8.5.0 and bootloader unlocked. When I tried to flash SuperSU-v2.82-20170528234214.zip my phone won't pass the HTC logo on white screen. So I tried to sideload SuperSU-v2.82-20170528234214-TEST-1.zip because I read it was for bootloop accidents but my pc (yes I have HTC drivers) says there's not attached device in prompt command, so I couldn't try dirty flashing with ViperOne too. Also my SD card can't be read by pc cuz the card reader is old XP. As final solution I tried RUU but it says phone is not linked to pc or that it has low battery but it's not true. What I have to do????
EDIT: I solved this problem by flashing LeeDroid but in some way I lost IMEI and baseband, so I'm trying to reflash stock with RUU 4.30.617.12 and see what happens...
EDIT: I successfully installed nougat and TeamHelix Thermal mod. Could you recommend me a good ROM on Nougat?
