So I just received my Moto Z Play unlocked version yesterday, and either I'm missing something or just overlooked. But my clock doesn't display the battery percentage or expand like how I seen on the other Moto phones. Is this because it's and unlocked additional or just missing some settings? I would really like to get that to show battery percent along with the battery mods as well. How do I get or enable that feature?

You need to look for the 'Command Centre' widget and then put it on your homescreen. Simples.
Yes but I'm talking about the stock one that comes with the other Moto z phones, not an different widget in the play store.

It's preloaded on the phone. You don't need to get it from the play store. This is the 'stock one'.

Well mine does have battery percent or expand as I seen on others, which is why I asked thought it was preloaded. Mine is just called weather and time widget... My phone also game preloaded with the Google now launcher not sure if that matters or not.

You should have another called 'command centre' which looks like a circle, but if you touch the bottom the weather and battery level slides out. If you don't have it preloaded, look for the apk.

I also don't have that widget. Sure that it is stock?
Didn't have it either. Had to get the command center apk.

I am Photo Widget dependent .
I like very much the Sony stock ICS widget called `Photos and Videos` [not that one called Photo Gallery]. Regretfully, this widget disappears (together with player, weather...) when installing another launcher. I have searched even on Market for something similar, but I found nothing.
Does anyone has a solution?

The Moto2 Camera app is by far the best I've used in my smart device history. (Whereas I remember my droid x2 having the absolute worst camera and camera app , with the exception of any and all blackberry cams)
I read a bunch of scathing reviews on the Z² Force camera, and honestly I don't understand why. I've had fantastic results thus far, even in terrible lighting situations. It has excellent manual support when you want it, and pretty damn good auto function. I'll update this with some pictures later. ( Only have pictures of my daughter right now, don't want to put her on the web).
I will say though, the "smart object detection" is a bit silly. I understand where it is leading, and even remember the Bill Nye episode on this technology, so I respect it... But... Keep it out of my stock camera app.

You can disable this... BUT I think it's a great thing having this on stock camera... It's nothing particularly new (e.g. Goggles...), but having this at "a shaking distance" would male this a lot more usable...
Update to previous post. These are some pics I took in full auto mode while at work. I know it wasn't the initial purpose of post, but figured whatevs.

Am sure modifying the build.prop would yield access to lens in the camera and music id in the Google Assistant. Just like it was with pixel 1st Gen and the Nexus 6P.
Following, can someone confirm this before I reboot and edit my build.prop? If someone has apk too. I really want the music recognition, probably the only thing I'm hyped about from the release.

That's Google lens. I think both of us mean the Pixel 2 launcher, the one where the Google bar is at the bottom.
I imagine the redesign is actually a new update to the Pixel Launcher that'll probably be available through an update through the Play Store. Probably would get to is quicker by pulling from the Pixel 2 system.img. I could be wrong, but it seems to be something they'll bring to the old Pixels too and therefore not accessible through a build.prop edit
Has Google even announced if the old pixel will get the new launcher and AOD? I know the pixel launcher will probably be an update just but you never know.

It's not bad the only issue I have is the fact the bottom is really white now kinda annoying more so than the bar imo but I'm sure I'll get used to it.

I just purchased the LG G4 H812 (in Canada) and I love it! I found that there was a few things that I changed right away and would love to hear what you have done to make this phone even better!
Here are a few things I have done so far;
Disabled a bunch of unneeded apps
Disabled Dual Window
Disabled QuickCircle case
Disabled sound on keypress
Turn Off Mobile Data (unless no wifi - while driving etc)
Installed Launcher <3
Turned off Smart Bulletin
Turned off NFC
Use Smart Unlock (Face and On-Body)
Increased vibration strength
Enabled Voice Clarity when not using voip
Installed V10 Camera Mod apk
Installed SystemUI Tuner (ADB permissions)
Disabled "ok Google" detection from any screen
I have been getting great battery life on this phone too! This is lots of web browsing, youtube, using the camera, small amount of gaming and lots of reading on the XDA app

Ya I had a Moto g3 and had tonnes of roms to play with but I broke it and needed a new phone. I bought this one for 260$can unlocked because I couldn't find a decent phone for even close to this price.

Ya I think about it now and even 260 taxes included I should have just got another moto g3 but I was bored with the roms and wanted a bigger screen and better camera. I am not disappointed but probably will be bored with this phone soon and hard brick it trying to get a custom Rom.

And depending on model it's very risky to brick the device!
Added SystemUI Tuner to get immersive mode. Had to do some ADB commands to break my device's virginity. ?
Disabled the "ok Google" detection from any screen. I think this helped with scrolling jittery lagging in some apps.
Using the built in cleaning app has helped too. I run it about once a week or after installing/removing a bunch of apps.
Now I don't swipe away my frequently used apps from the recent apps button/screen and that really speeds up launching the apps I use often.
Wondering if anyone knows how to remove the battery icon? I'd like to just have the percentage show up. Thanks in advance for any advice on this!
Try Good Lock from the Samsung App Store. It includes lots of status bar tweaks.

I use it to just show battery percentage. Make sure you have percentage turned on in settings

I have it set to show the percentage but it isn't there. When I toggle the battery icon in Good Lock, they both disappear.
Just use Systemui Tuner.

i just downloaded this app but i don't see the options to do what you guys have done. can you give more explicit instructions? I see a list of apps you can install from the app store (lock star, quick star, multi star, etc...)

Launch Quick-panel star---> visibility of indicator icons--->toggle battery icon. Haha, hopefully you got it.
The app is called Good Lock. The PapaWangsta's instructions should get you taken care of once you download it.

thanks for the intel on this app. but where in settings does one turn on the percentage? im on an unlocked note plus if that matters...
I'm on a note 8 until later today. The attached print screen shows where it's at on the note 8. You should be able to search "hide battery percentage" to find it.

I doggedly go through settings to find buried stuff like this. Goodlock apps are superb; even got rid of that nasty AT&T logo.
Just black across the top of my stock Note 10 homescreen like I want it.
