Hello forum,
1st off, this forum rocks!!!
Now... I'm having serious issues with my Galaxy Tab 3.
1st, my unit's specs:
Galaxy Tab 3.8
Model: T310
Android version: 4.2.2
Kernal version: 3.0.31-787812
Build number: JDQ39.T310UEUAMF2
This tablet was a gift & once I received it, I rooted it immediately. I'm familiar with rooting so it was a success. My problem started when I began to deleted bloatware from the unit. I guess I deleted something I shouldn't of & now its gone haywire.
1st the "android is updating" messsge appears & just stays. Then, when I try to reformat, it tells me the startup wizard wont start & the screen stays blank. I try to maneuver in setting but no luck.
Can I "PLEASE" get help in restoring the stock rom & then rooting it again (if possible).
ILL LEAVE THAT BLOATWARE ALONE LOL....
THANKS IN ADVANCE.

Do you have a custom recovery?
Im not sure. Please explain...
A custom recovery isn't really going to help if you've deleted something critical from the firmware. Your best bet is to go to
samsungupdates dot com
Or
sammobile dot com
(We're not allowed to post links to those sites) and look for and download your firmware. Then flash it with Odin. At least one of those sites will host the version of Odin suitable for your tablet. A link to it will be with the flashing instructions that you'll find on the firmware hosting site. Be warned....set aside a couple of hours for the firmware download, it *will* take ages.

[Q] Regarding "[RECOVERY][ROOT] Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini (GT-I9195)" new Rootkit v2
Hi,
since there is the "you must be bigger than 10 posts to submit here" barrier in the original "[RECOVERY][ROOT] Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini (GT-I9195)" thread, I have to ask it here:
Arco updated the thread with a new rootkit version, that replaces some of the utilities. So can I now just flash that, although I used the version before?
Is there an easy to understand guide for all of this, that explains what can/should be updated when?
Like answers to the questions:
1. I rooted my device, can I just root it again with newer versions?
Not yet done, but probably coming soon:
2. I added a custom ROM, what do I need to do to go back to a backup of an old one?
3. I added a custom ROM, can I just flash a new version?
Sorry for asking this, but every time I flashed something (e.g. router, old phone) it would pretty much erase anything that was there before. So no problem with newer versions. Reading the instructions here always make me feel like it is a thing of putting together bits and pieces and if one is wrong you might brick it?!
Greetings
Chris
That was the purpose for the FAQ I posted earlier.
Regardless, your answer to 1 can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=44172232
#2 and #3, will have to wait for @arco68 to answer
Sorry for bumping or using a random topic, but I as well couldn't post on the original development thread because of the 10 post restriction. Sorry if I make a dumb question or anything, I'm quite desperate and have been reading tons of info and haven't been able to find a solution to my problem:
1) I installed Cyanogenmod 10.1 following their instructions, CWM was involved in there.
2) I tried rooting the gt-i9195L (the L stands for latin), I didn't do anything with Odin, only CWM and the samsung galaxy s4 mini rootkit v2, but I think I bricked my phone. After reboot, it just shows a black screen, button lights go on and off, and sometimes it shows a brown screen. Is there a way to undo this or any solution you consider appropriate for this?
Again, sorry for going off-topic in here, thanks in advance!

Black screen is probably because the kernel is not compatible with your device. Use S4Mini_RootKit_v1.zip instead for rooting. To fix the boot issue, you would either need to download stock rom from http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/ and flash with Odin. Or get a copy of the boot partition from someone else with that device, and flash it in recovery.

I installed v1 as you suggested. There was no stock ROM for Mexico, but I tried Puerto Rico (which worked without problems) and then reinstalled CM10.1 without factory reset/wipe data. Everything was on place, and phone is now rooted Thanks a bunch!
Hi, I'm looking for the US version of the latest stock firmware for the P5210 United States version. I've looked at sammobile.com and tried to find it there but it seems EVERY other country in the world is listed except for US versions. Is there a reason for that? Some weird laws here that prevent that? I've wondered that for a while since my original tab 7" days and I could never find US firmware for that either and had to use the UK version.
Anyway, I'm trying to install Grievous 5.0 rom and this is the first ROM i've tried putting on it. Was rooted for a while, just flashed TWRP, that went fine, made a backup. Tried installing the rom, it said successful but when I went to re-boot it, I keep getting two boots to the samsung logo then right to the TWRP main menu.
Yes... I did follow the devs installation instructions exactly. Two or three times. Tried different resets, and installation combinations with no progress, and the same result. If it matters, the file I downloaded was the android file hosting one... currently downloading it again from Mega in hopes it was just a bad download. As of right now, this thing is pretty much dead in the water.
The stock firmware is linked in the OP of this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2421594
Flash it through ODIN and you should be good to go, I had a similar issue previously.
Thanks, did you ever get any ROM to install and load on yours? I'd really like to try one but so far this whole thing has been a mess. This is my first go at doing any modding on a Samsung device, I've done plenty of Motorola stuff, that just always seems to work for me with no issues. Thanks again for that link. I might have to play with this a little more when I have more time.

I was attempting to flash Pimpdroid when I had the problems, and it seemed like every time I tried to wipe/flash something went wrong. I'm not 100% sure, but I think I ended up just flashing over the stock rom. That was a couple months ago, though, and I'm not sure if flashing techniques have changed or if it has gotten any easier.
Hey man , you have not looked the firmware properly. First of all , US firmware on sammobile is always written as the country 'cellular south' . So , buddy on sammobile firmware section type p5210 and then look for the country cellular south . I was also confused first but then I found my tab's pda code and csc code and then looked for the country and it matched with cellular south . So buddy search for cellular south country . And if you don't want to download from sammobile or you have any problems downloading from sammobile , here is the link https://mega.co.nz/#!sJZCxQ7T!hdJXKXTVZe_Rx63CYE3xPESxxNr9FWqgGQgmOz1DH3A P.S. - It the latest US stock firmware for GT-P5210. And the link which darthjader has provided, the firmware is of any European country because US firmware starts from UEU. And the latest U.S. firmware is P5210UEUAMK1 . I have provided you with the link of latest P5210UEUAMK1 . And to the answer for your 2nd question , Yes, I flashed the pimproid rom without any glitches and problems. What I did was that my tab was rooted and TWRP was installed . I just placed the pimproid rom in my tab's internal sd card , booted into TWRP recovery and then without any wiping I just installed the rom because TWRP automatically wipes the data and dalvik cache . I haven't tried the grevious rom . Ok my friend , after writing such a long post I hope that you find my post useful .
PLEASE HIT THANKS IF I HELPED YOU .

This is very interesting. When I go to the OP listed above, the file name is P5210XXUAMG6_P5210OXXAMG3. However, when I look at my firmware in the device, the Build Number is JDQ.P5210UEUAMK1. Not sure how Samsung Build Numbers relate. They could be country specific like mentioned above, or something else. I just don't know.
My concern is loading a build that is not the same as the one on my Tab. I have backed up the device using TWRP but I am not sure if that particular build is included in the backup as part of the system.
I too am not sure if I have loaded stuff correctly. I know I am ROOTED because a Root Check said so. I loaded a new Rom but really saw no real difference. So I am not sure if I have done things right. I did follow the letter of the procedures to the T.
added: you can also find the firmware at this address.

Hi,
This is my first post here on the XDA forum so if I make any mistakes, please do tell.
So, I got a Galaxy Ace 2 (I8160) which was running unrooted and stock at Android 2.3.6 (if I recall correctly).
I decided I wanted the phone to run at a newer Android version (KitKat preferred), so I decided to look into Cyanogenmod 11.0.
I succesfully installed the Clockworkmod Recovery after soms attempts and after that I was able to install Cyanogenmod 11.0 running on Android 4.4.4.
My first impression was positive, until I noticed I regularly got some error messages about com.android.phone which stopped working.
On top of this, the phone had no service and I was unable to make any calls (also selecting a service provider made com.android.phone crash).
After a lot of looking around on the internet, I found out this could be caused because I flashed Cyanogenmod 11.0 directly from Android 2.3.6.
On another tutorial I read I should've flashed Cyanogenmod 11.0 from any Jellybean version but as I stated earlier, I flashed it from a Gingerbread version.
On another forum I found someone who used to have the same issue and stated that he made the same mistake as I did (flashing from a non-Jellybean version).
He said he flashed a stock Jellybean ROM to his phone, installed Clockworkmod Recovery and at last flashed Cyanogenmod again and everything seemed to be working just fine.
I decided to do the same and flashed a stock Jellybean ROM for the I8160 using Odin v3.07.
After Odin told me the flash process passed, the phone rebooted but was stuck at the Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 logo.
When trying to get into the recovery, I got the same problem and the only thing I saw was the startup logo.
If I'd turn off the phone and plug in to my computer (which normally shows the battery percentage) it'd be stuck at the loading icon (normally this loading icon is visible for about 5 seconds and after that the battery percentage is visible).
I'm still able to get into download mode, so I tried reflashing the same ROM but unfortunately without success.
I used the following stock ROM: samsung-updates.com/details/28857/Galaxy_Ace_2/GT-I8160/XEN/I8160XXNB1.html.
I've been using the Cyanogenmod 11.0 and GApps files from: maclaw.pl/downloads/.
Does anybody have any idea about how I coud fix this?
Thanks in advance.
EDIT: Just tried flashing a stock ROM with Android 2.3.6, problem is still there: samsung-updates.com/details/18868/Galaxy_Ace_2/GT-I8160/H3G/I8160NELG2.html

Thanks for you reply.
I came across this 3-parted firmware flash a few hours ago.
I'm trying it right now. I'll let you know what the results are.
Alright, another update. (My problem seems to be fixed!)
At first I tried downloading the 3 files neccessary for the new flash method, but for some reason it'd take me hours to download them.
I started looking on the internet for the same files and found a torrent link on another forum leading to a torrent file uploaded here, on the XDA forums: http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=1757643&d=1361735404.
I downloaded the files in the torrent and used them properly in Odin.
The flashing process started and at about 80% Odin gave me a nasty error message saying the flash failed...
At that moment I was seriously hopeless and pretty sure I've just succesfully hard-bricked my phone.
I tried to start it and I got a weird message saying a firmware update went wrong and that I should fix it using Samsung Kies.
As it stated, I tried using Samsung Kies but was unable to get my phone to work.
I was out of options so I decided to give the 3-way flashing method a second chance.
Oding started flashing and for some reason finished succesfully this time.
The phone reboots, and shows the 'Samsung Galaxy Ace 2 GT-I8160' message for a few minutes.
After that the Samsung logo pops up and I've waited for another few minutes until a new screen pops up.
I see the Android guy and a blue progress bar underneath and patiently waits untill it's done.
After this I see the Samsung logo again and the phone finally boots to Android! Great Success!
Conclusion in my case: The 3-parted firmware seemed to do the trick for me.
As I stated above, the first flash failed but the second one was totally succesfully and revived my phone.

Yeb - you can use also the 3-parted MB4 (which was an very early JB FW).
But as the MB4 is not 100% complete - I still recommend only to use the 3-parted FWs linked by me (which ChuckMichael shows you)
But anyway - If your Phone booted you are done - You do not need to to it again. Just flash afterwards the newst original FW available.
Hi there Guys
I´m total new on Android.Have my SM-T520 since two Weeks know.My last Boyfriend teached me alot into
the Computer-things.BtW, if you think Im writing stupid ... im from Germany LoL ... My english has
rotten a little bit. So sorry ... have merci please with me.
So ... I was told: Every Computer online needs a Firewall.I searched for an APP for my new Tablet ...
... found one, but it want´s a root? Searched for ROOT and find:
androidpulp.blogspot.de/2014/03/how-to-root-samsung-galaxy-tab-pro-101
I did everything exactly written ... was very nervous " should I? Or better not? Uhhh ... This WARNINGS
My new sweet Tablet! But I did it !! and it WORKS !!! My biggest Computer-thing I ever done. :good:
So, I put this CF-Auto-Root-picassowifi-picassowifixx-smt520.tar.md5 File onto my Tablet. The "Root-Test"
was the installing of the AFWall+ Friewall ... It works! Great ! I rooted my Tab! Alone by myself !!
Told everyone from my Adventure the next Days.
But, I brought the Tab for relaxed surfing on my Sofa? (Couch?) and or streaming Movies from Sites to my
Samsung Smart TV.This SCREEN MIRRORING thing.I tested it a little BEFORE my rooting.I worked great. Now
it breaks up with a "Hardware Error" in the end of the connecting process.
So, searched again for that and found out that this Error came from the Root ... from the "Root-Counter",
I think? Searched again ... TRIANGLE AWAY app was found and installed. When I press RESET FLASH COUNTER
the app told me its resseting. But the counter dont go to zero ?? The last message told me
"... make sure you dont running a custom kernel ?? or custom recovery ..." ??
The TRIANGLE AWAY Flash Counter Status show to me:
Cuurent status:
Counter 1
Binary Custom
Device SM-t520
System Offical
When I put my Tab in this Download Mode? It says "ODIN Mode" itself?
ODIN MODE
PRODUCT NAME: SM-T520
CURRENT BINARY: Custom
SYSTEM STATUS: Offical
KNOX WARRENTY VOID: 1
AP SWREV: A1
I searched nearly a week ... landing a lot in this community here ... register on SAMMOBILE ...
thought that this File here is original:
sammobile.com/firmwares/3/?download=32752
Model: SM-T520
Model name: GALAXY TabPRO 10.1 Wi-Fi
Country: Germany
Version: Android 4.4.2
Changelist: 1977750
Build date: Tue, 24 Jun 2014 08:31:35 +0000
Product Code: DBT
PDA: T520XXUANF4
CSC: T520DBTANF1
MODEM: T520XXUANF4
But ... the File CF-Auto-Root-picassowifi ... was 21 MB big the File on SamMobile is 1,2 GB!! big.
I think I not right here.Im totaly confused now.Want to do this thing alone with no help from my Workmates.
It starts so good but now Im out of order.
ROM, Kernel, Firmware, Recovery ... all that I found with Google ?? I think I reached my Limit here.
SO, the Binary is the thing to do? Or ?? Is that a Kernel, ROM, Firmware or Recovery ??? This thing must be
original? Original to be able to reset the Counter to Zero and can do that SCREEN MIORRORING again?
My wish would be:
Keep the Root and the Firewall and also put the Counter to zero to be able to see the picture of my Tab on
my Samsung TV again.
PLEASE ... what kind of File do I need now? What I have to do with that?Is it possible to keep Firewall working
and ScreenMirroring?
Please does someone of you have a LINK that help me? What is a BINARY, please?
I THANK YOU all for reading my looong Story :good::good: Maybe someone knows what I have do do?
Greeting from Germany
Your Nina
too loong ? XD
Hmmmm .... to put it in short ...
Is it possible to have a rooted Tab AND use the
Samsung ScreenMirroring Funktion?
Please, how can I replace the custom BINARY with a stock Binary that
runs with my rooted system?
A Link or a good Searchword for Mrs.Google would help me so much.

1. Unfortunately, the Knox counter cannot be reset at this time.
2. If you have not installed any recovery, or other ROMs, Kernel, then you are running STOCK firmware.
3. Have you tried to reset your device and see if mirroring works? This is what I did with my S4 before and it worked, but I don't really know with the Tab pro because i have not rooted it as I want to use Knox.
4. If after you have reset your device, and screen mirroring does not work, try to download a STOCk firmware from www.samfirmware.com or www.samsung-updates.com and flash it to your device using ODIN - this is run on your COMPUTER with your Tab pro connected via USB cable. This will UNROOT your device. Then try to use screen mirroring again and see if it works. If screen mirroring works, then it means you can't root your devic if you want to use screen mirroring.
5. There are free firewalls on google play, but I have not used any of them so i cannot comment which one is the best.
I suggest before you make changes to your Tab Pro from now on, go and read more about rooting, flashing ROMs, flashing RECOVERY... it is best NOT to RUSH what you want to do as an ERROR on your part might cause more problems.
a lot of THANKS

Thank you !
I will test that RESET with TriangleAway and then test ScreenMirroring this afternoon. Nice Idea :good: Hope it works.
I only put CF-Auto-Root-picassowifi-picassowifixx-smt520.tar.md5 one Time to my Tablet and it was the only

My Problem with this Firmware-Download-Sites samfirmwar is, that my File:

is too big!! It´s 1,2GB big and the File i did (CF-Auto-Root-picassowifi-picassowifixx-smt520.tar.md5) is only
21MB.Could that be right?? My only nonStock-File on my Tab is the BINARY, as TriangleAway and
the Download Page said.
I read a lot last two weeks ... i looked for me like theres no solution at that Time.
Couldn't find a Posting like "rooted SM-T520 WITH SreenMirroring"
Maybe my Tab its to new? Read from Lib-Files that must be changed but not for the SM-T520.
Thanks for your help !! I will test your Point 3 a little later. Hope ...

Chainfire doesn't flash a new system. It replaces your recovery, then adds some files to root your existing /system, and then replaces your recovery with a stock version (which may be different than the stock version your started with, but is a Samsung recovery at least).
That's why it is so much smaller.
I'm guessing here because I have not entirely figured out what Samsung has done with their Digital Rights Management stack. But, screen mirroring may have issues because it may require DRM keys (probably hdcp keys) and by tripping Knox it may be going from DRM level 1 for which it has keys to DRM level 3 for which the device may not have usable keys.
I agree with the recommendation to try using Odin to undo everything except tripping the Knox counter. That's your best shot.

But I understand nearly half what you write about DRM and so. But THANKS for your Time.
Because of you I know now why it is so big.
I started the 1.2GB Download at the End of my last Posting ... still 6 hours left :silly: to finish. 30kb sec
So, when Download is ready and I put it with Odin on my Pad ... is the complete System new then?
The Binary is then Stock or offical and I can put the Counter with TriangleAway to zero?
Read this morning that this wont go because its now Hardware based. a fuse or so.
So I do the big File on my Pad to get the complete stock System back and the ScreenMirroring option running?
Sorry for my stupid ... I read really a lot ... but its also a lot of "ways" and "to do" written out there.
The Test resetting with TriangleAway and test the ScreenMirroring didn't worked here.
The Pad is scanning long Time but couldn't find the TV.Yes ... it´s in the allowed List in Menu.
Did the same as before the root. But the Idea was good.
In all the "how to root" Sites in the Internet should written that some functions wound´t work after root as Warning ... ... maybe ... special for rooters like me
I read we can unroot the Pad with SU.Looked in the Menu ... there´s really a Point called unroot.
But that wound´t bring ScreenMirroring back or? Sounds to easy, or?
So, see you next Time
Bye for now your Nina

4. If after you have reset your device, and screen mirroring does not work, try to download a STOCk firm... and flash it to your device using ODIN - this is run on your COMPUTER with your Tab pro connected via USB cable. This will UNROOT your device. Then try to use screen mirroring again and see if it works. If screen mirroring works, then it means you can't root your devic if you want to use screen mirroring.
5. There are free firewalls on google play, but I have not used any of them so i cannot comment which one is the best.
I suggest before you make changes to your Tab Pro from now on, go and read more about rooting, flashing ROMs, flashing RECOVERY... it is best NOT to RUSH what you want to do as an ERROR on your part might cause more problems.

totally agree
i think our german girl must have stuffed something up during flashing
flash back it to the original stock rom using odin and keep it as unrooted. my wife has an unrooted p600 and to honest, i cant see any point to root her device at all. based on what she or probably this girl wants to use it for.
I don't know if this is the right group
I tried posting and it said not enough points etc
I apologize please move if not correct
I have a s4 m919 t-mobile I rooted it using cf autoflash works great now trying to install trwp when I install using odin comes right back to stock. I look to use lineage. Any idea on how to do all of this. Thank you
Reason I want to do this having issues with twitter mostly and Facebook live videos.
I also notice I am running the latest 4.4.4
However there is a new update t-mobile pulled but still listed on there site. It's also available on several Samsung websites. Should I upgrade to the pulled rom or ?
Any ideas
Thank you
To install twrp: open Odin, uncheck everything except f reset time, flash twrp, remove the USB cable from the phone when you see the word "reset" in the status window, remove the battery, replace the battery, boot into recovery using the button combination.
Thank you I
Thank you I got it working
Thank you for the help I have lineage installed. Wow so fast. How ever when trying to root it I get a error says binary occupied. If I uninstall I get no root available. How do I install root ? Thank you so much

Which baseband version did you have before flashing LineageOS?? I flashed LineageOS and now the SIM card isn't getting detected including a handful of sensors too. It would really help me if you could say which baseband version you had used.
Thanks in advance
