Hi, I have a camera problem with my Nexus 5x 32Gb.
First time the camera didn't started was on stock N with locked bootloader. I've tried reboots but didn't started.
I've unlocked bootloader, rooted.... flashed a N rom and the camera worked for some hours and when i've accessed camera phone freezed and rebooted and then again got the "camera error. Can't connect to camera" message.,
I've flashed the vendor.img and again, worked for some hours then freezed, rebooted and camera error message...
I've read that in many cases a reboot or flashing the vendor soled the problem but not in my case.
Seems like the vendor partition got corrupted after a while?!
I've done some catlogs. The first one wes done with the working camera, last one with camera error.
I've tried reading those log but with no luck, if can someone find my problem i'd be grateful.
I really like this awesome phone! View attachment 2016-11-20-06-18-58.txt

This one has been giving me a headache all day.
Just got a GS3 from Sprint, obviously the first thing I did was throw on a custom recovery and flash Cyanogen. For some reason, no matter what version of Cyanogen I flash, no application can use my back camera. I have wiped all caches, fixed permissions, cleared the gallery cache (as some suggested) with no avail.
Here are the weird things: The front camera works. I can use it in any application, but the back camera always hangs or ends with a "Can't connect to the camera" error. In addition, if I factory default the phone, the camera works fine - so it isn't a hardware issue.
Would love some suggestions on how to proceed!
I really appreciate it!
As a follow up, I tried flashing my cam firmware with the ones found in this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2006128 out of desperation. It resulted in my camera no longer working - even on the default rom unrooted.
:crying:
Hello everyone yesterday I opened bootloader and flash custom rom (ARHD V21) and custom recovery (TWRP) using this post http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2069904&highlight=stock+recovery
the thing is as I finished everything and had the ARHD V21 I noticed there's problem with my camera !
the problem is sometimes it can get into camera right away without any issues and sometimes it a bit stucks and even force close with messege unable to start the camera and sometimes it force closed without an Error at all !
but when I switch to front camera it shows me Fofocim and then turns purple with lines ahead
I tried another camera app called MXCamera and factory reset and restore backup still problem exist !
so I decided to back to completely stock rom so I relock bootloader and flash custom rom and then run the RUU for my version
(CID HTC_044) software 3.14.707.24 ASIA WWE first it was work almost completely fine but sometimes when I press to enter the camera app it was stucks and even force closed without an error at all but the front camera was working fine so I did soft restart and the problem I talked about before back
what can I do to fix it ?
thanks in advance

Was it working before? Did it happen only after you flashed the ROM?
I didn't noticed that but never mind I was at the store today and they fixed my both cameras now thank god it working great !
and also got OTA update today to 3.20.401.1
thanks you can lock this post
Guys,
I received and installed OTA update for my LG G3 D855 (2/16gb) to V20E-eur-XX couple of days ago.
Phone is NOT rooted.
I'm not happy with update. Everything seems to be lagging more and more and on top of that, I can't start camera at all. When I tap onto Camera icon, I get "Camera can't connect" error.
Please, help me, I'm very mad on LG right now.
Thank you in advance.

Just wipe data/factory reset it. Hope it helps you. If not root and install a custom rom like S3V3N !
Thx, scamex. Both proposed solutions are valid, but I would like to hear some other, bc factory reset is a pain and I don't know if that'll work.
On the other side, I don't want to root.
same issue here. after taking few pictures and video. it suddenly says cant connect to camera even i switched to google camera.
i just restarted the phone and the camera now works.
So after flashing MHC19J via Clean Core, I can no longer connect to use the camera. What's even weirder, is that I downgraded back to my previous ROM, and now the camera has the same issue. I have no idea how to fix this. I have uninstalled the camera app via system remover app and reinstalled it. Issue is still there. Tried clearing data and cache, still not working.
Any suggestions? I have never had this before.
I have the same problem, could you find any solution?
I have to same issue too... help?
Guys try to flash full stock rom using sdk and then write if problem still is

I'm having yhe same problem, and it's acting strange, I wass on stock N when camera didn't started, rooted installed custom rom, and it didn't start neither.
Reverted to stock MM, and didn't start, upgraded to stock N again and worked just fine, after rooted and installed custom rom again it worked perfectly, and moments later didn't started, Rebooted two times and worked, later it didn't started again.
Tried to change vendor, rebooted in safe mode, nothing worked, any clue what might be the problem?
SOLVED: flashed the vendor again after installeg rom and camera started working,
Thanks!
Hi, after a while, the problem reappeared.
Again i've flashed the vendor.img and camera worked just fine for a while.
If i reboot to safe mode camera works fine but one time the camera didn't start even in safe mode.
So i can't find a proper path for this problem.
I've recorded 2 logcats, - at the first one camera worked fine
- the second one camera didn't start

Where did you buy? My phone was repaired by LG by warranty after the infamous bootloop issue and now camera has errors sometimes.

I'v bought one on second hand, from a bootlooped device. For. Me, it worked, i'm not 100% sure it will work for you but i'd try it if i were you. If it doesn't work you can sell it after.
im sure theres a very simple solution im missing and this can be chalked up to a noob post, but im currently at a loss. I recently got a nexus 5x and unlocked the bootloader. everything went smoothly and i successfully flashed purenexus onto it. however, upon setting it up, i ran into some problems.
1: wifi cant connect. trying to connect to my wifi results in the error message "Unfortunately, settings has stopped.
2: going to settings > security results in the same error message.
3: opening camera results in an error message saying camera has closed.
ive tried factory resetting, wiping everything, and formatting data from twrp, but every rom i flash still has these same problems.
ive tried pure nexus, chroma, tesla, bliss, and xtrafactory, but these same problems persist. ive tried flashing the corresponding vendor images over all roms but pure nexus, because i cannot get the pure nexus vendor image (MTC20F) onto my nexus via adb push command. this isnt my first phone ive rooted and customized before but id still classify myself as very noob. i apologize if this was a dumb thread or if i broke any rules.
TL;DR: "unfortunately settings has stopped" error occurring no matter what rom i flash.

Your best bet is to run the fastboot command with the MTC20F (or MTC20K for September 6.0.1 based roms) vendor:
fastboot flash vendor /path/to/vendor.img
Boot into TWRP, factory reset and wipe system, then flash your rom and their recommended gapps package.
For adb push, could you post a screenshot of your command prompt? One quick tip is that the file path to the phone is case sensitive.
