Hi
Can anyone help with this ?
I am stuck on a Linux logo on my screen
I am unable to go into recovery or Bootloader mode
However if I Fastboot, it recognize the device
I tried flashing the recovery image and It Flashed successfully; Yet I cannot boot into Recovery
I tried Flashing the the Bootloader and the same
Funny thing is all Fastboot commands seem to work, like rebooting the Bootloader, but it goes straight to the Linux logo
see picture attached
Thank you.

Did you erase the system? If not try to flash for fastboot just boot.img, maybe help you, if don't reboot flash the entire rom image
I was testing volte.zip. I already tried flashing the boot file, still nothing. I tried flashing miui global fastboot with miflash still no luck. It sees the device but flashed for 5s and then said successful.
did u check "clean all" and try edl mode (just a reminder,it happened to me many times,i was impatient/panicked forgot to check "clean all")

I have never seen this linux logo before on Mi Max and I can assure you I am on top of everything happening around it...
I think you did something hmmm... excuse me but stupid... That volte.zip is for kenzo and it flashes all partitions that you are not supposed to flash with anything but hydrogen specific images... Your only option is EDL mode flashing and I am not even sure if it is going to work.
Good luck...

Install MiFlash from Xiaomi, download fastboot image and unpack it.

Boot to EDL mode with hard keys method, screen stays black, but Qualcomm QH USB device shows up in Device Manager/Ports. MiFlash fastboot image.
If you have 8 or newer Windows, you have to boot it driver signature verification disabled before MiFlash install:

What did you do to understand, maybe wrong firmware, maybe just a problem of modem partition, if you are using DualBootPatcher try with a CM based rom like primary, other possibility is to flash just NON-HLOS.bin of corrrect rom in fastboot mode, maybe wrong file in Update Firmware folder (in zip rom), go with a file explorer to /data/nvram if it`s generated for the new rom, take a backup first and delete after, reboot device (if this is the case) and check again your sim.

Thank you though, I was able to resolved it by flashing the EFS backup that I had.
Problem SOLVED !!!
Thanks again for your Help.
I got a bricking when I tried flashing MIUI EU ROM over CM on a locked bootloader. Is there a way to flash the latest firmware files without also flashing a new boot image which could brick the phone? I had to do an EDL flash using MiFlash last time, I don't want to go through the hassle again.

Probably you are not going to like what I have to suggest because it's a little longer process. My suggestion would be to download the LG Support Tool from http://www.mylgphones.com/lg-software-tools-download
Download LG drivers as well from the same link. Connect your phone to PC. Let the support tool download and install the stock firmware. Then root the device and install twrp recovery. Then proceed with wiping and installing 20A. Yes, it's a longer way but the proper way in your situation. It should not take you more than 30 minutes to be back in the business. Good Luck!
Didn t work
tnx but i allready try it,i try lg flash tool lg flashtool 2014,problem is i cannot go to download mode and the computer dont recognize pc.Only if i go to lolipop 5 but there is no buttons, notifications and i cant to nothing, cant copy to telephone.Becouse the files are missing who i delete it accidentally
I can go to recovery twrp 2.8.0.0 and flash from there.
Adb mode
So i can acces to adb mode from computer. Is there any way to install stock firmware true adb mode or i have to go to download mode?

Don't know about stock firmware but you will be able to download a custom rom and then adb sideload it from recovery. Least you will have your phone up and running while you sort the rest out.

Flashtool is different than support tool... But in your situation it probably wouldnt work anyway.. So are you stuck in fastboot? If so youll need to flash the boot.img and laf.img for your device. If you can get into recovery just flash a compatible rom. You might need to still flash a boot.img first though if it was erased. I don't think a lot of roms have a boot.img included unless it's bumped not sure about that, I have d851.

To restore download mode you need to flash the laf.img. So what I would do is type fastboot erase laf. Then with the new laf.img file you got from your link placed in the proper location, type fastboot flash laf laf.img. Once download mode is back you can kdz flash and return to stock. You might follow the same procedure with the boot.img just be safe but this should be all you need to get back to stock.

Does it say success? You might need to change directory in fastboot commands. If you type adb devices does it pop up information about your phone? If you can still get into twrp do like above. I think cloudy restores the entire system on to your phone. I could be wrong I don't use custom roms. I was buy this phone a few days ago with ubl already. I think that was great because i don't need to unlock the bootloader by myself. Since this my first xiaomi phone, unlocking the bootloader may gave me headache. But when i tried to flash twrp, i face a problem that adb said "FAILED (remote: Requested download size is more than max allowed)". At the same time, in fastboot screen shown "press anykey to shutdown". Is somebody here know what must i do? I was spend at least six days looking for solution on internet.. but, still no luck. Hope someone here will help. Any suggestions will so appreciated.
-Sorry for my bad English
Additional info:
On me, isn't driver or port or my windows 10 problem like some people saying since i can run any fastboot commands (flashing twrp too) with another xiaomi phone.

Same as before.. fail either. What should i gonna do now?
Actually, my phone already had twrp installed with custom rom too after 2 weeks use time. I can't find solution for my problem so i do unusually step (or you can say frustrating step). Do test point things and flash rom like usual. But, before i replace stock recovery with twrp and rename it like stock one. After that, just start flashing and when it finish, boot to recovery directly and flash magisk plus no verity. Then i got twrp and root.. But, still can't flash anything from fastboot, even flashing with miflash. Just curious what exactly the problem is. I know can repeat the same step just in case i got problem to boot and somehow can't boot to twrp too. But, you know.. that takes lot of time to do
I don't know if ur problem is solved by now, i think you should flash latest dev firmware, that might be the key, have you ever done that after the problem? You should use twrp to do that tho.. and pls take note, every firmware is not supported by everry recovery, but i trust orange fox, and don't try to downgrade firmware too, check always if the cutom rom support the firmware you gonna flash and also check ARB value...
Edit: what does this mean
replace stock recovery with twrp and rename it like stock one
Hello Good day everyone, please help this idiot who just bricked his phone for no reason at all:crying:
I accidentally wipe my system or should i say im just flat out an idiot for wiping everything without any backup. i have installed twrp and i unlock the bootloader already because i wanted to install miui in my mi a2 lite phone but ended up wiping everything and now im stuck in twrp mode. i still can do fastboot and open my phone in twrp mode but thats all NO OS. How can i save my phone back to normal. please help me. THANK YOU ALL!!!
If you can get to fastboot, use the stock rom flash script. See the stock rom thread in the guides forum.
If you've got windows, miflash may be easier to use. I think it takes the same stock rom file.

Just make sure you download a fastboot rom which has all partitions.
When I wanted to remove all traces of root from my phone last week, i noticed that many of the more recent images only have /system or just a few partitions.
I ended up installing one of the earliest Pie images (V10.0.2.0.PDLMIFJ if i recall correctly) and then doing all the OTA's until I was at V11.0.9.0.QDLMIXM or something.
Fix

It happened to me like a week ago and i was able to fix it just yesterday. cuz i am new at this root stuff. But i was able to do it at th e end. You need to install stock rom, miflash. Also download flashable stock rom. Because i installed like 5 stock roms. But they were not flashable so it did not work. Extract the stock rom that you downloaded. Then open miflash. Now go into fastboot mode and plug your phone to your pc. Now locate the folder where flashable files are and then click flash. It should say Success. If not that means it did not work. But it should work so yeah. That is it.

Yes, I tried that. Changing the slot also works. But then I don't get any further. The device always ends up in fastboot. I was a little curious and tried to undervolt gpu a bit on max frequency with KonaBess. The backed up stock image cannot be restored and that is the result. It doesn't work with the extracted boot.img from the official package either. Only the MSM tool seems to help. I do not know how to continue

Gotcha, I tried messing with that also and couldn't get it to work. Changed slots and had to reflash full update package to restore slot to functioning again. I think it has something to do with the vendor_boot.img. But even with that pulled from the update zip I couldn't successfully fastboot flash that either and just reflashed the ROM.

I understand your pain, but if you already switched slots in fastboot and the device doesn't boot from either slot unfortunately I don't have any suggestions. I'm pretty sure without TWRP or the device booted into the OS there isn't a way to flash the ROM zip, until a fastboot flashable ROM is made or MSM tool is available.
Edit: I guess you could fastboot flash the various partitions from a payload dump of the ROM. But honestly I'm not sure what partitions are actually compromised from the KonaBess attempts. My guess is the vendor_boot.img (which is what gets backed up when you choose that in the app), but I couldn't get it to flash in fastboot, I kept getting a no such partition error. Which is funny cause it's in the ROM zip.
Maybe you can try fastboot flash boot_a\b, vendor_boot_a\b [file-path]. Try at your owm risk.
Ok, it worked. I flashed vendor_boot partition again (without a/b) and it boots now. Thanks for the quick and friendly help.
Any Idea where I could find vendor_boot for the op9? I fell into the same situation unfortunately.
I incorrectly assumed vendor_boot and boot would be the same .img and now i cannot leave fastboot mode.
It can I flash the European version over global?
I was basically fine changing the voltage but after getting a stable UV I got greedy for a higher clock frequency.

Yes. EU version was tested by other members and will work. You can at the very least use it as a temporary measure.

Use the payload dumper to unpack payload.bin in the full OTA. In the output folder you will then find the vendor_boot.img. You then flash this via adb with the command "fastboot flash vendor_boot vendor_boot.img". Has worked for me
I want to thank everyone in the thread, firstly. I never thought I'd be tiptoeing into Python to get a phone working again. At the moment I'm fighting with Microsoft Visual distributions, but at least there's a path to follow.
Update: got it running and was able to dump the payload but come time to flash it says partition size unknown so I tried formatting and it wouldn't.
Time to wait for MSM I guess..

Have you already tried to change the slots? I switched from A to B and then flashed the vendor_boot image. Maybe try again, it could work ...

Yeah I tried switching slots. I tinkered with it a bit more, made sure I had the latest platform tools, tried different variations and slots. Wiped it in fastboot. Might try a different computer/usb cord tonight. But overall, I think I'm out of luck.
I finally got it running again. Had to use the AA which released today.
So I tried flashing roms using OrangeFox. I cleared everything but internal, sd, usb memory. Added ginko firmware to queue, McLaren OS, disable dm verity. Rebooted to system and it was stuck at the redmi logo with powered by Android at the bottom.
After some time I went back to recovery and cleared everything but internal blah blah and flashed just an Oxygen OS gsi for AB (.img). Rebooted to system same result.
Next I did the same with an Xperia for AB gsi and then Oxygen for A only. Always same result. What do I do?
Just download ur phone models fastboot rom it should be written fastboot rom not recovery just connect ur phone to pc in fastboot mode and just flash the file by miflash tool

Oh I've actually have that. I'm currently using the same phone. I want to know how to successfully flash a 'foreign' rom

Same result :/
imho you need a guide special for RN8 how to flash GSI rom's.
I only saw one guide on XDA for RN8Pro, which is another phone.
For RN8 (gingo/willow) you can use a generic guide
On russian forum I found a complete guide. Maybe you can see there what you can do better.
Use Google translate or Chrome for reading.
