So I am trying to install the latest 3.2.1 Update but everytime I get installation failed? I used to have root and custom emojis on the phone but I wiped the phone with TWRP by booting it, flashed stock rom and the 3.2.0 update. I then realised I had no recovery at all so I flashed the stock recovery with adb but even tho I have stock rom with no root or anything and stock recovery I still get installation failed? Could it be that I have my bootloader unlocked but still stock everything else that makes it so its not working or what? really need help with this as I wanna be able to install with OTA.

Did you try "adb sideload" in stock recovery?
I had the same problem when updating 3.2.1 to 3.2.2....I was on stock no root bootloader locked too...I downloaded the ota 7 times and failed....then I downloaded 3.2.2 full rom, unlocked bootloader, flash twrp and then flashed the full romm using twrp...and it was a success....but I really don't what was causing the problem....can anyone explain why the ota update install failed?because i really wanna update the phone using ota not by flashing everytime....can anyone help?

I played around with cm had but decides to go back to stock. I installed with twrp and then got a update notice. I downloaded and trwp tried to install but fail. Use toolkit to load original recovery and downloaded uodate, not it says updating and then says recovery fail. And when phone boots up it ask to downloaded update. Any help would be appreciated

If you are rooted. systemless or not, with or without xposed, the update will fail. Download the full rom from the mirror here and sideload it or flash it in twrp

With what error code? And what size was the zip you flashed?

the file size is 1.2 gigs from oneplus.net. There is no error code on TWRP and on the stock recovery it shows no errors just says Update fail

Hmm, I've not run into that issue. An error 7 in twrp usually means the system partition is modified (e.g root, hence my previous suggestion) but that doesn't effect the full 1+ gb zip as it's not an OTA but rather the full rom. Try contacting oneplus support
Use TWRP, and install the full OxygenOS 3.2.2 zip (do not try to use the OTA update - that won't work and also do not install the OTA update version), and wipe cache and dalvik, then reboot
Hi,
I've been running Oxygen OS 3.2.8, rooted, with TWRP fine for a bit. I had downgraded from Oxygen OS Community Beta 9, by using the Full Unbrick Tool (detailed here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/oneplus-3/how-to/guide-mega-unbrick-guide-hard-bricked-t3405700) to downgrade to 3.1.2, and then I upgraded to 3.2.8 using the official OTA file, and using the USB ADB sideload in the stock OOS recovery. I did go though the motions of setting up 3.1.2 before updating to confirm that it works.
However after updating to 3.2..8, the phone bricks itself again, and when I boot I get the OnePlus logo for about half a second, and then a black screen with the LED being white. I even tried updating OOS using the OTA updater in Android, and it boots into the recovery, apparently does the update but then bricks itself again!
I can boot into Fastboot fine, but I can't boot into the recovery.
I have noticed that when I boot, because my bootloader is unlocked, I get the screen about the bootloader being unlocked, blah blah blah, but the link to learn more says "g.co/placeholder". After I attempt to update to 3.3.8, I get the proper link, indicating that the firmware has updated in some way.
If I install TWRP straight after using the unbrick tool, I can boot into it fine, and then install CM13 just fine, and it boots. However the fingerprint reader doesn't work, and I assume this is a firmware issue.
Correct, it's a firmware issue. With CM13 you have to use older firmware (from 3.2.4 or older, if I remember correctly).
Sesrch XDA for a thread with firmwares and flash that, done

Thanks for the reply.
I've got a 3.2.4 firmware file, what's the best way of flashing it?
I did attempt to flash this with stock TWRP, but it appeared to brick the device again.
Additionally, when I boot into fastboot mode it doesn't show me the bootloader version.
Someone did suggest using the commands:
Code:
Fastboot erase modemst1
fastboot erase modemst2
after flashing OOS, would this help at all?
Stock TWRP should work with that ... But you may try modified 3.0.2.1-28 by eng.stk, nothing to lose (it works with ALL ROMs and firmwares to date).
Dunno about that other suggestion, I think that's more related to IMEI problems, but I'm not 100% sure.

I think I'm going to book a session with OmePlus and see if they can unbrick it properly, or just return it to O2 where I bought the phone.
I still find it perplexing that updating to 3.2.8 from 3.1.2 using the Android OTA updater bricks the phone!

How did you root. All you should need to do is flash the correct su or Magisk zip file. (They are available in the first post of the groovy rom thread)

Have you flashed the Boot Image Signature Patcher? You can find it in the Android Development section.
Hi everyone. I've tried multiple times to update my phone to the latest oxygen 9.0.3 version both via OTA and recovery. All the times I've got a failed update message. The phone have unlocked bootloader, the recovery I'm using is twrp 3.2.1 and the oxygen version is the 5.0.8
I don't know if I'm missing something or making mistakes. If someone can help me it will be really appreciate. Thanks in advance

Unlocked bootloader ...it will erase your storage completely ....as there is a encryption error which they have not yet resolved...
so any way you need to backup ur datas... then use the latest TWRP 3.3 or flash the stock recovery which you can download from oneplus support ....
then install the full rom it will be updated ...
