Hello.
Can I install any roms without a rooting on my mi-max?
I don't like bloated apps on my mi-max.
So I tried to use Debloter 3.90, but it didn't work.
I have considered to try to root my mi-max to erase all bloat apps, but I don't want to root my phone too.
All banking apps from Korea are working only on the phone what have been unrooted.
So... my questions are...
1st: Can i install any roms without a rooting on my mi-max? and will it work correctly?
Because of the reason that I wrote above, I don't want a pre-rooted rom.
On any pre-rooted rom, I will never can use any banking apps even if I try to unroot.
2nd: If I can't, Is there any app replacing Debloter 3.90?

I'm pretty new to Android but I thought to run custom ROMs you had to be rooted but someone mentioned that it might be possible to root, load a custom ROM, then unroot while keeping the custom ROM?
I have corporate email through Mobile Iron and it does not allow rooted devices. I'd like to be able to use a custom ROM but wasn't aware that it might be possible.
Through search I found this but it was somewhat inconclusive and it's for a Galaxy Note: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1766538
You can do that, but highly not recommended. The ROM itself might need root access to control certain options. Also, there isn't anything bad about keeping root.
Swyped on my Galaxy Nexus running AOKP with Franco Kernel
yes, very possible. you dont need root to have a custom recovery. you can always flash a rom of choice and delete the superuser binaries and app.then you wont have root. and youll still be able to flash other roms(youll have to delete the root stuff again). just temwber that without root some option in the rom wont work.
You don't need to "root" to install a custom ROM. You just need to unlock the bootloader and use a custom recovery to flash it.
After you've installed the ROM, feel free to remove the root access, or simply disallow apps from being granted superuser access. Just be aware that many features in ROMs are created with the assumption that the user will keep the phone rooted, so they may not work properly (or at all) when you remove root privilages.
I am in the same exact situation. I just stumbled upon this post. I run Bugless Beast on my GNex and I asked the dev if it could be unrooted by removing SU and superuser and the answer was yes. I won't find out if thats the case until January, but if you get it to work please post here. I am going to be the admin for our MobileIron deployment but I don't have enough pull to make a separate policy for myself that allows root. Don't really wanna lose my job

Yes you can but shouldn't. Due to because the rom itself might need root access to run. Lets say you overclocked or underclocked then root access is required from when you boot into your phone otherwise. Well I don't know after that. But to answer you question yes you can.
Hey guys!
For me to access my corporate e-mail, my device must be unrooted. So, my initial solution was to stay on the stock room. Root once, uninstall the bloatware and then Unroot. This has worked perfectly and I currently have no problems.
My question is that can the same process work for other ROMS? (Other 4.1.1 TW ROMs and even some of the 4.2.2 ROMS)?
Is the unroot process that simple for these other ROMs?

i'm assuming you use MobileIron? i know people that have gone into supersu, used the unroot option, rebooted and then been able to access corporate email. dont factory reset your device from within the OS in the future though. remember to do it from recovery or you'll brick your phone
I rooted for the first time and it is good to go. When googling, I just find articles of "must-have" apps for rooted phones.
My question is, though, what apps do I need.
I see TWRP and Xfusion (or something like that) a lot. I also seen about some app that saves root when upgrading to 12B (I had to downgrade from 12B -> 10B).
So, are there any apps that are neccessary that aid in saving root, managing root access, etc. that is recommended?
Flash TWRP and then flash some custom ROM if you want.

Rooting just depends on what you want to do. Rooting allows you to:
Flash TWRP, as stated above, to flash custom ROMs.
Install apps that require root. Just depends on what you want to do. TiBu allows you to backup and restore your apps and their data which you cannot do without root.
Between rooting and TWRP, you can flash custom kernels which allow overclocking and other enhancements.
Root allows you to re-enable writing to the external SD card which was limited under Kit Kat.
Again, we can't really tell you "must-have" apps. It all depends on the user. You'll just have to research around and look. Not trying to be mean about it, it's just that it's such an open-ended question and it varies from user to user and what their wants and needs are.
Hi there
have had my P8000 for a day now and just installed my barclays banking app which i often use only to see that the phone is rooted
I'm not really bothered about having root access if i'm honest just would like my banking app to work. Does anyone know how to remove root access from this phone this is how it was shipped to me from Geekbuying
Right it would appear that my phone is not rooted using various tools to check but the barclays banking app still says it is
it might just be that the Barclays app doesn't like your Chinese hardware/software but if you really want you can try to reflash the stock rom which is now available from elephone. there are two versions, 20150719 & 20150725 I believe from here:-
http://bbs.elephone.hk/thread-6343-1-1.html#.VczX6xHbKbg
just d/l the original one then you can always update via the phone if you want the newer firmware...
Did you ever solve this? I bought the phone as it has dual Sims and I didn't want to carry around 2 phones! Without being able to use the Barclays app, I'm having to carry my old phone anyway. Any help would be appreciated

Any idea of auxus prime p8000 how to root & flash the custom recovery...?
I've been having the same issue and here's my findings.
If you try stock rom (whatever version), Barclays apps will never work despite Root Checker says it's not rooted.
However, in another thread, I was pointed to an app called Simply Unroot and I tried it and initially it did not work.
The dev of Simply Unroot spent hours trying to figure out why Barclays app thought it was rooted but eventually, he suggested I try the FlyMe ROM.
So I put on Philz recovery, put on FlyMe, I used Simply Unroot to unroot it (since it's full-on rooted initially) and WHAM, after a reboot, the Barclays apps work fine.
I don't have enough knowledge to say why FlyMe/Philz is ok.
I don't know if it's the ROM/Recovery combo that fixes it.
I did try stock and Eragon with Philz and the Barclays apps don't work on there.
Either way, Simply Unroot app/service is fantastic.
It's a shame it's the FlyMe ROM that works since it's not very good.
Does anyone know WHY Stock ROM is seen as Rooted by Barclays whereas FlyMe is not?
I'd much rather use Stock ROM since it has the fingerprint scanner (and English UK setting....)
Stock ROM is 'pre-rooted', at least the last two or three versions have been. They just require SuperSU to get app control - hence a few posts saying they rooted the phone by simply installing SuperSu (which it doesn't).
So it would seem that FlyMe whilst based on stock ROM doesn't have this - a good option to have. Perhaps some of it is based on the earlier 'un-rooted' stock ROMs?

The FlyMe ROM is based on the ROM for another phone altogether... er.. Meizu was it? That's why it doesn't have any ability to use the fingerprint scanner.
It's just really annoying though... banking apps aren't the only apps that have this kind of over-zealous check... there are other enterprise apps that have it.
I don't understand why the stock ROM can't be made so it is 'fully' unrooted yet have it easy to root later on.
£130 for a phone that is super fast and does everything flagships can do but I can't use it/recommend it since it can't run apps that most people consider necessary.
:crying:
Hey guys, I'm currently on xtreolite deodexed v2.3, Android Pay will not work for me due to the root level access, some people have been able to get around this by disabling root in SuperSU and installing but that didn't work for me. Can those on different ROMs please try and report back? Does stock + root work?
I think you need to flash stock, install and setup pay, then root
^^ this! Above poster is right,
Actually, after rooting again android pay will not process transactions. At least mine failed today after rooting again when I tried at McDonald's.
Is it checking the KNOX counter or just the phone being rooted?
Just if it is rooted
Aren't there xposed modules to hide root?
