NT7100 won't boot, won't charge, can't recover - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a Note 7100 that suddenly decided to shut down and when I turn it back on, the phone is stuck in the "Samsung Note NT7100" logo screen. When I plug the charger in, the phone won't charge. When I turn the phone on while it's plugged in, it just shows the battery screen with the circle in the middle not moving.
And so, the phone is brought to me where I tried to do a factory reset/data wipe using volume up, home button, and power button. Upon trying to reset, I get multiple lines indicating E:\ fail to mount, E:\ fail to load, etc.
I then try to use Odin to flash another ROM but my computer is not detecting the phone. And yes, I have Samsung driver installed. The only thing I get is Windows saying it has found a new hardware named Samsung_Android and searches for updates but never finds one.
So the phone won't boot, won't charge, can't be detected by my computer. Is there a way to fix this? What caused the phone to shut off and the E:\ fail errors is unknown at this point.

eMMC chip got corrupted, change it at the nearest service center.

It's not completely dead I guess.
Yesterday, I went into odin download mode on the phone and plug the cable in from my computer. Opened odin and it detected the phone.
I tried to flash some firmware but it failed.
In odin download mode, at the top left corner of the screen, it's still giving me information of the phone.
Does this mean the phone is recoverable or is eMMC replaceable still the only solution?

It is not completely dead, it's just that storage memory is dead, unfortunately.

Desire Z wont power on :(

Hey guys,
Running ILWT CM7. Flashed about two weeks ago. My phone has been working fine except for the past few days where it's been constantly freezing, requiring a battery-out and turn on, and rebooting on it's own.
Last time it froze, I removed the battery and turned back on, and it got to the "htc" logo and froze. After ~25minutes, I took the battery out and tried again.
Phone seems completely dead, won't respond to power on, volume down and power on, no lights come on when charger cable is plugged in. When USB cable is plugged in and no buttons or anything on the phone is pressed, my laptop attempts to install drivers.
Tried leaving battery out for 30minutes and trying again, but no luck.
Any suggestions?
Cheers!
Stuck in RUU mode?

Looks like your phone is stuck in RUU mode.
In RUU mode you see the silver "HTC" logo as long as your phone is connected to your computer with an USB data cable. No charging lights will show in this mode.
You can use the following command to boot your phone to Android:
Code:
fastboot oem boot
When that does not work, because your partition table or system partition might be corrupted, then you would have to use the correct RUU (Rom Update Utility) for your phone to get it back to a working state.
When you have a bricked internal memory chip (emmc) than nothing will work properly to restore your phone to normal working conditions.
In the case you have an engineering HBOOT you could boot a ROM from SD card, but that is a far shot.
Best regards,
Catherall

Thanks for the help
When plugged in with the USB cable -> computer, I still get no response from the phone itself. Screen doesn't turn on, still seems dead. My laptop still says "Installing device driver software" to no avail, and phone is still dead. No lights, screen is off, nada. As though it was powered-off.
ADB Devices lists nothing, and fastboot oem boot hangs on <waiting for device>.
Am I out of luck? I could send the phone off for repair, but as I'm rooted I think warranty is void.

Windows seems to need a driver installation for using fastboot. Did you try to automaticall install device driver software? Have you installed HTC sync on your Windows computer?
When your device does not respond at all, and even refuses to connect in fastboot, then nobody can tell that you have been rooted.
Best regards,
Catherall
Sounds like your EMMC is fried, as of now I don't think there's a solution other than sending it back. Many say HTC accept and fix it even though it is s-off
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA
did you get this worked out? i had a similar problem, ended up booting into fastboot by holding the trackpad and the power button, then just selected reboot and my phone powered on like nothing had happened, i was running the same rom.
Hey, did you alreasy tourned your phone to the fastboot mode?
Or does your device still have a black screen during boot?
I rooted this phone and when I was done trying S-OFF, phone would not respond to anything. It would only blink the orange notification light when I pressed Power and Vol+, or it would stay steady green with both Vol keys and Power. But the phone screen would never turn on. So after trying for hours to figure it out. I finally took the battery off, plugged the phone held pressed the power button and then put the battery in place the phone finally turned on and it worked. I turned the phone off again and it was doing the same issue. So I did the same step but this time with power and vol- to get in the bootloader and changed the hboot version to Desire Z. After that phone works perfectly, turns on and off with out any issues.
I did have to try the trick a couple of times idk why but it would work once in a while not everytime i tried it. Hope this helps anyone who also ends up with a similar issue.

Galaxy Tab 3 NO Power, boot loops when plugged in. Otherwise nothing Video attached.

Hi all, I've been using XDA for years since the original O2 XDA's and I have never had to post anything as I've always found my solution. I'm hoping somebody can assist me with a problem I have on this stock galaxy tab 3.
The device was brought to me after being thrown down the stairs. I replaced the screen and built it back up,
Removed battery connector and reconnected = nothing happens
Press power = nothing happens
press download mode = nothing happens
press recovery mode = nothing happens
Plug USB into PC = nothing happens on PC or tablet
Plug in USB mains charger and it displays battery charging logo but it doesn't fill or animate the fill then it starts the samsung boot screen. It reboots and continues to do this constantly and never ends.
I've tried two batteries and both batteries work in another tab 3 but neither batteries changed how the device works.
Thank you for any advice in advanced!!
I just received a Tab 3 lite (SM-T110) for repair, it's having a similar problem.
It does automatically turn on when plugged into charger or computer.. It is stuck on a bootloop, requiesting a Kies recovery. It does reboot when given the three finger salute (center button, volume down, and power) - it will not enter recovery mode though - same firmware error message). The device is also full off or full on, no indication of it's it's recharging or no - let the battery run out, it's off - else it's on (does not turn on or off with power button). I don't have any info how it got into this state - most likely power loss during a firmware update, but haven't ruled out other possibilities (ie bad rooting job, a custom ROM upgrade went wrong, etc). I'm not 100% concerned about cause, but hopefully I can unbrick the thing.
Anyways, I loaded Kies onto my computer and put it into recovery mode and plugged it in - nothing. Exit the recovery mode of Kies, and all of a sudden the program goes nuts trying to connect and disconnect from the device. Hmm... Okay, disconnect it, uninstall Kies, install Kies3 and try again - same thing except it complains the device is too old when the program leaves recovery mode - but same thing otherwise - does not show up in recovery mode, connects and disconnects at huge rate when not in recovery mode....
Hmmm...
Now looking at the screen, it does indicate (in the upper left hand corner) that it's in ODIN mode... So my next step I figure I'll try ODIN (although I'm researching ODIN at the moment as I haven't used it before (never had to unbrick anything from Samsung prior to now).
Okay, that was painless - downloaded and installed ODIN 3.10.7, and then downloaded the latest firmware from Samsung, extracted the firmware, added it to ODIN's AP line, then hit start to push the latest firmware onto the tablet. Good as new again.

Galaxy Note II (GT-N7100) Resuscitation

Its been a long time since I booted my Galaxy Note-II (GT-N7100) as I use an iPhone and Nexus 5 as my daily drivers.
The phone wont boot past the Samsung Galaxy Note II GT-N7100 logo. I am able to access the recovery and download mode as well, and I have flashed the latest stock rom from Sammobile using the Odin. The flashing was successful. however the phone doesn't boot past the logo. Also the phone will not power up unless connected to a PC, it wont power up even when connected to a charger and will immediately shut down when the USB cable is disconnected from the PC. I flashed TWRP 3.0.2 Custom Recovery using the Odin and tried installing CM 13 based Rom through the mem card, however the log reads patching image unconditionally and also that "Failed to mount /system" (invalid argument). The phone when restarted into recovery can no longer mount the /system partition. However on flashing the stock rom using Odin, the /system partition is available for mounting. The recovery log also shows MTP enabled, but my PC doesn't detect the phone when in recovery, it only detects the phone in Download mode. I have the Samsung drivers installed. Since the phone is not being detected in recovery I am unable to use the adb.
I am out of ideas and request your suggestions other than approaching a service centre.
If I can somehow access the phone via ADB, I might be able to check the memory partitions for corrupt units, and possibly create a custom PIT file to repartition and suit the available memory units.
Try this: open Odin, uncheck everything except f.reset time. Connect phone and flash stock ROM. When you see the word reset in the status window, remove USB cable, remove battery for a few seconds, replace battery, immediately boot the phone into recovery mode, factory wipe, and boot the phone.
Could the battery be defective or dead?

Thanks a lot.
Tried your method and finally the phone has booted into the OS.
Had to replace the battery with another spare one in the process.
However the phone is still not being detected by the PC unless it's in Fastboot/ Download mode.
When connected to a computer, does anything appear on the phone screen? If you're using Windows, nothing new appears in device manager?
sorry to jump in this thread but i am having a similar problem
my completely stock tmobile note 2 is stuck on the samsung logo
i have never flashed it or done anything to it
my phone was working really slow, freezing up and battery draining fast
so i did a hard reset and it fixed the problem of running slow and freezing up for a week or so but battery drained fast
so i bought a replacement battery from ebay and installed it and the next day i restarted my phone and it froze on the samsung logo
i tried turning it off and on and still the same thing
any suggestions or should i start a new thread?
fyi i am a noob

T-Mobile S8+ [G955U] -- Factory reset resulted in complete wipe & no longer boots up.

T-Mobile S8+ [G955U] -- Factory reset resulted in complete wipe & no longer boots up.
I have a Samsung galaxy S8 plus (T-Mobile) [SM-G955U]
Current Firmware:
G955USQU4CRE9
I'm using windows 7 to attempt to repair my phone.
My problem is as follows...
A few weeks ago my phone started giving me the dreaded:
"Unauthorized actions have been detected..."
error code and sending my phone to restart.
This has happened to me in the past on other phones so i thought, ok. restart and it should be fine. However, this kept happening... the next day and on the 3rd day it happened about 3 times in a row. At this point I was cautious and backed up all my files, turned on USB debugging and shut off my wifi & data.
I then proceeded to do a factory reset from the settings. Once it restarted I got a weird error stating something like no such recovery file could be found. When I saw this I knew I messed up because I didn't first take a backup of my system & recovery...
I got a hold of T-Mobile who walked me through their reset steps, none of which worked. They had me contact Samsung and I did but to no avail. Simply stated they mentioned they could fix it if I had warranty, if not I would have to pay for repair.
Either way I sent all information to Samsung and they have not gotten back to me even though they mentioned we'd hear back in 48 hours. (it's been about a week) I've tried to reach out since then but I haven't had a lot of time to sit on the phone with their elevator music...
Ever since then I've tried everything from Samsung Smart Switch to re-flashing through Odin with no luck.
I've tried all of the reset options...
Hard reset
Soft reset
Wipe cache (recovery mode)
Wipe and factory reset (recovery mode)
Simulated battery pull
etc., etc., etc.
Nothing works. Odin flashes correctly (i get "PASS") and the phone turns off but does not turn back on.
I've tried several tricks to get it to turn back on but it won't go past the boot screen (Samsung Galaxy S8+ screen)
I've flashed, re-flashed, wiped, reset, etc.
Now smartswitch doesn't even work on it because it does not recognize the device...
When i connect my phone now it just shows up as the qualcomm chip. I get "Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008" under devices...
ADB only works when it's in download mode or recovery mode but it doesn't recognize the device either...
Another problem is the increased time it takes to get into the boot menus (download or recovery).
Sometimes when I haven't touched my phone for a whole day I can get into download mode within 10 seconds or less but the more I try it and especially if I successfully flash stock software, the next time booting into recovery or download mode can take up to 5 minutes (holding the button combination). Recovery mode is worse.. even after 24 hours without touching the phone it will come up maybe in 3 minutes but has taken as long as 7 minutes... my fingers are in pain.
Essentially, even after successfully flashing my phone will not boot. and when i hold vol_down + power i can sometimes get the boot screen but it won't go past that.
Also, None of the above boot options work if my phone isn't connected to power--these options only work when it's plugged in. If my phone is not plugged in it will not vibrate, light up, boot up, or do anything other than behave as a paperweight.
I believed it may have been a charging issue so i left it plugged in overnight and even went to download mode and plugged it in for a few hours but that doesn't affect it at all. Even if i'm in download or recovery mode it'll turn off right when i unplug the device.
I'm trying to get it to the best buy that's approved for samsung repair but when I called they said they wouldn't repair it anyways because i didn't buy it there... -_-
Please let me know if I need to provide any other information. I'm trying to get an image of the recovery screen so you can see the error it gives me... Something about no file found. This is increasingly difficult though because some times it takes too long to get into these modes and I leave it alone and come back to it later.
Has this happened to anyone else? Can someone provide some sort of advice or a method to fix this?
thanks in advance.
Can you download the Qualcomm HS-USB QDLoader 9008 driver, and then see if you can fastboot oem-unlock and see if it unlocks your bootloader

Cannot boot into download mode

Hi everybody, yesterday I was playing with my old Galaxy A50 trying to install a custom rom unsuccessfully.
I repeated the procedure three times installing TWRP and then Havoc OS but every time I tried to reboot from TWRP to OS I was stuck at the warning screen saying that the phone bootloader was unlocked and booting into download mode to reflash TWRP was blocked as it showed "only official binaries can be installed" (yes I installed Samsung disabler but still).
Still I was able to get the phone into download mode and reinstall the stock firmware as it seemed to be the only way to install and boot TWRP.
But at 4th time repeating the process I got frustrated, shut down the computer and left the phone on the warning screen still connected to computer usb cable.
Then I got back and noticed the phone was off as the battery died.
Indeed the battery died, so I put the phone in charging and after it reached 100% I tried to boot into download mode again to reflash stock firmware.
But here's the strange thing, I cannot boot into download mode anymore as pressing vol up+vol down while connecting usb cable, shows the lightning charge logo for 5 secs and then reboots infinitely with the same pattern.
If I force reboot by pressing vol down+power it shows the Samsung logo with the warning below it, then skips to another screen with another warning suggesting to press power button to continue (which does nothing) and after a while reboots to samsung logo.
So it doesn't seem it is bricked, it looks more like a battery controller fault, so I tried to detach the battery flex from the board, hoping it would reset the controller but it's still the same.
Also I tried with the flex detached and still no download mode is possible.
Was the download mode somehow erased? (if it's even possible considering it's the motherboard firmware)
If you need photos, videos or even a call on zoom, Skype, webex I would be glad to show you
same i got the same problem i can't find nothing for this when i press volume up and down and put the otg cable its simply charges but it gets stuck on the logo image there's no way to fix this but the only way is to open the phone, change the emmc and put one from samsung, close the phone flash a custom rom and you are done.
If you can enter recovery, do it. As soon as your phone gets into it, select the power off variant and then try to enter the download mode.
It seems like you did not unlock the bootloader, did you?
The bootloader Is unlocked i can't enter in the recovery because the phone locks on charging logo and its fully charged but when i try without charger It doesn't start.
