I want back to stock rom from CyanogenMod - ZenFone 2 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi everybody.
I installed CyanogenMod to my Zenfone (ZE511ML). Everything is OK but CM drains my battery using the phone. I want back to stock rom. I have stock rom fw file already, but anything needs more? I googled it, some forums tell about recovery.img etc... I don't want to uninstall TWRP, just back to stock rom.

just update to latest twrp. then factory reset. and sideload stock firmware...

There's a [GUIDE] for this in the general section

[Q] Can I go from CM11 back to stock T-mo?

I'm on CM11. I'd like to return to a stock-like JB rom for the time being until there's some reasonable functionality available in the AOSP-based KK roms. I've seen the warnings on the int'l forum that once you go to the Sammy 4.4 roms, you can't go back to JB due to the bootloader update. I've not installed a KK rom other than CM.
Does this no-going-back issue apply if I've only done the following?
1) Rooted stock MI7 using RDLV, installed TWRP Manager
2) Flashed TWRP recovery
3) Wiped device, flashed CM11 nightly build
I looked through the forums but I've not found this question or answer, so I apologize if I'm reposting... I guess I just didn't find the magic keyword combo to search for.
You can still go back to 4.3. Did you happen to make a nandroid backup before installing CM11?
Cm 11 isn't the same 4.4 as the official tw 4.4 which is the one with the updated bootloader. So going back to a 4.3 rom is not a problem. Either find and flash the stock rom located in Dev section or you can Odin the stock tar file (which will revert you back completely to stock.

I'm stuck in a similar spot.
On TMO 4.3 stock/deoxed, I did a nandroid backup with CWM 6.0.4.6, flashed CM11 to play with a for a few days, and after restoring the backup, the phone boots, but after putting in my pin, all i get is black screen and lots of force closes. I tried the Brick_Loop_fixer zip with no luck. I've different combo of wiping cache/davik cache and formatting system BEFORE the restore with no luck. I also tried ODIN back to full stock, flashing the stock/deoxed ROM i was using, then doing the restore, same outcome.
Any help would be great!
Reggie.

Trying to update to 4.4 kitkat (NOOB)

Hey fellas,
I want to update to the latest firmware (4.4 kitkat) on a rooted 4.1.2 GT-N7100 but i'm totally confused and i have no idea how to start...
I tried searching around and i keep seeing different methods to update if you're phone's rooted, like first thing is to reset the counter then select full unroot from SuperSU, then update to latest FW, or just install the latest FW right away without unrooting, etc.
What is the safest and correct way?
Also i'm not sure about the Custom ROM and Custom Recovery versions on my phone, how can i find out what they are?
Well you can go here :

Easiest way is:
If Rooted already - Download and Flash DN3 ROM and good to go
If not rooted check the android dev section on note 2 on how to root phone>install TWRP v7>and then install DN3 ROM
Thanks guys!
But does it matter if i'm on a custom rom or not?

From stock 5.0 to a custom rom ?

Hello guys, i was wondering since I've made the 5.0 update (european) if it was possible for me to flash a custom rom like cyanogen without root (because root isn't an option since llp) ?

After flashing a ROM, flash SuperSu 2.4 to get root.

But how do I flash without root ?
It's noobish question, i can't get to recovery, I've tried with the Power and vol down keys, all i can get is a menu to erase my data, thats it.
Firsh backup your data. Then go back to EU stock ROM:
here are the stock ROMs: http://storagecow.eu/index.php?dir=Xda%2FLG+G3%2FStock%2F
how to go back to your stock ROM: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2797190
Now you can root your LG G3, use TWRP/CWM custom recovery and flash custom ROM.
Root: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/development/root-root-lg-g3-easily-purpledrake-lite-t2821000
TWRP: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/orig-development/recovery-twrp-touch-recovery-2-8-2-0-t2966129
Thank you, I hoped there was another way, i will downgrade then, thanks.
maybe there is. Im not pro neither I received OTA for 5.0, but I wanted to have my LG rooted, so I had to downgrade and now I am running AN HD.

[Q&A] Flashing stock ROM using TWRP

does TWRP able to flash a stock rom?
if it possible, will it cause any problem?
my device is rooted and using stock rom (planning to flash CM)
a) if you have twrp installed, then just backup before flashing any other roms, then factory reset and restore to go back to factory if needed.
b) you can flash OTA with twrp, and I ma pretty sure full stock roms too. See this guide. There is a thread on xda too, but I don't have it bookmarked.
I hope that answers your question.
P.S.
Remember that you have to unlock bootloader for TWRP, and if you want to use OTA function on stock rom with TWRP you need to fully unroot first.
@DiGecko
Thank you very much

Your post has many repeats - please clean it up.
Yes, when you RSD or flash a stock rom, you also change the recovery back to stock(unless you selectively do not). If you want TWRP, just flash it again.

Despite all the unnecessary repetations... You did go back to 7.0, not 7.1? Well, unless you flashed a version older than the stock version you where on when switching to custom ROM, just look if there is already a OTA. In fact there should be many. OTAs with unlocked bootloader aren't a problem as long as you don't change recovery, the only problem is flashing an older stock ROM than you had. Then you'll get an OTA too but that would brick your device
