I delete my recovery img by mistake
info to know:
Bootloader: Locked
Security: S-On
OEM : On

can't Boot to android
Any Idea to solve this problem
and i guess if you have the RUU File it will fixed
I contact with the HTC they wont give me the RUU
thank you
best rgards
easiest way is to unlock BL, flash custom recovery and flash a custom ROM.
or check @LlabTooFeR ruu flashing services here. Hope they have RUU for your carrier/Region.
I don't even know how you would delete your recovery while being s-on and locked.
If that really is your problem then unlocking your bootloader and flashing TWRP should fix it.
can't do unlock bootloader cuz oem lock: on

I wanted to flash LeeDroid's rom. After I flashed the boot image I realized that I haven't put the rom into the root of the phone's storage! silly me. I tried rebooting the system but it won't boot. Then I tried the unbrick methods on the forum but found no luck. At last I tried relocking it and restore it using RUU but it still won't work! It is saying that I got the wrong version of RUU, but where can i find the RUU for 1.28? Hope someone can help!!

What country are you in, which network are you on and did you buy your phone sim free?
If you go into fastboot mode and then boot into CWM using the command:
fastboot boot <CWM img file>.img
You'll then be able to use adb to push the rom zip onto your device which you can then flash with CWM.
If the RUU says you have the wrong version you probably have the RUU for another region/carrier.
It's pretty much impossible to permanently brick the one x (without s-off) so don't worry, you'll get it working eventually.
Thanks man. I am in Hong Kong and i am pretty sure it is sim free. after I tried running the RUU i have relocked the bootloader. for some reason I can't even get into recovery right now! When I try the RUU it saids the image version is 1.28.708.10 and I get error140

You can't install the 1.26 RUU after you've updated hboot with the 1.28 OTA.
Try installing this RUU: http://hoxroms.serveftp.com/RUU_END...Radio_1.1204.103.14_release_257077_signed.exe, it's the same region but a newer version.
Flash the stock 1.28 recovery image and relock your bootloader before trying to install the RUU.
The 1.28 recovery image can be found here: http://hoxroms.serveftp.com/Asia_1.28_RUU/recovery_signed.img

If the RUU runs successfully then don't worry about it, if it throws another error then flash the stock recovery and try again.

When i turn it on it would just get stuck at the htc logo.
If im not wrong i need s-off to change font?
But my phone is s-on.
Now i cant turn on my phone.
Can someone help me?
Now i can on it to hboot.
I tried pressing the recovery and factory reset, but it wont work.

If you don't feel like permanently have a custom recovery on your phone, what you can do is:
fastboot boot custom_recovery.img
the phone will boot to custom recovery, do your flashing, once done, reboot your phone the custom recovery will be removed and your stock recovery still there.
p.s. assuming you understand what fastboot is.

I did wat the thread said.
The last instruction was to select recovery.
I did it and now it just shows Htc logo with red words below
" This build is for development purposes only
Do not distribute outside of htc without htc's written permission.
Failure to comply may lead to legal action. "
Nothing happens after.
p.s. I couldnt disable fastboot because i cant on my phone. It gets stuck at the htc logo.
I dont mind a full recovery.
What is your software version no. ? You need an official RUU to flash back to stock.
Have you try fastboot boot custom_recovery.img ?

I dont really understand this step because i dont have custom_recovery.img.
I did download the recovery.img from a post above and did

So the only way is to flash an official RUU as you unable to boot to custom recovery.
I just hope that your phone is not T328W as discussed here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=25813833&postcount=72

To be on a safe side (even though some people may not agree with this, but this will bring no harm and it is noob-proof) do this:
1- flash a stock recovery.img
fastboot flash recovery recovery_signed.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot erase cache
2- flash a stock boot.img
fastboot flash boot boot_signed.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot erase cache
3- re-lock bootloader
fastboot oem lock
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot erase cache
4- flash RUU
Attached here are the files needed.

Hi guys,
I have a rooted one X and want to install he latest update. I tried to relock my bootloader by starting fastboot and then type:
" fastboot oem relock"
Now my phone should be relocked and it does show relocked in pink in the bootloader, but under that stands security warning I don't kno if thats normal or important or something. I rebooted my phone and downloaded the update but when i try to install it i still get into the bootloader.
What am I doing wrong and how do I unlock my bootloader again after the update?
Sascha
You unlock by flashing the unlock_code.bin file again like you first did.
To apply an ota update you also need to reflash the stock recovery
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
Okay I unlocked my bootloader flashed my recovery.img and relocked my bootloader again. But still it reboots into the bootloader. Could it be my backup of the recovery.img is already wrong?? and if so where can i get the right one
My phone:
1.29.401.11
HTC__102
I Relocked the bootloader and got back to stock recovery.. But while updating i have an error.. Phone with red square on him..
Idk what i'm doing wrong. i have status relocked.. Maybe something wrong with stock recovery?
I tried the recovery image attached to this post first time it deleted al my data second time the update succeeded
Still can't update.. tried some other recoveries, but still get error while updating..
try to flash the stock boot.img first.

You can try to following download stock recovery and download the RUU of your phone ( the same version as your latest official update ) then go to fastboot
Type
Fastboot flash recovery "your stock recovery " .img
Hit enter
Fastboot flash OEM lock
This might give an error but when you type it again it wil work
Now put your phone in fastboot again and then start your RUU from your pc if it gives an error just search for another One it will take about 10 min but after your phone will work fine
Hope it helps

Is it possible to have a working phone without a recovery installed ?

Just fyi, but I'm pretty sure you can flash RUU in RUU mode with bootloader unlocked.
Phone works fine without recovery, but you can't take an ota, flash roms (custom recovery) or wipe data/cache.
I'd unlock again, and flash either stock recovery, run the RUU again, or flash TWRP 3.0.2-2. Why were you using such an old version in the first place? That's likely the cause of your issue in getting the phone to boot to TWRP.

With s-on you need to relock the bootloader to use official signed ruu files. When he flashed the ruu he could be seeing the exclamation mark that is normal as a warning before entering the stock recovery for which you need to push a volume and power button combo (don't know them heads up)
A possibility is to clear the cache and try to enter again (as this was a thingy on older HTC devices) or indeed as suggested at least to use the latest twrp available

Yes i think it does work again. But that's a try and find out. There is always the possibility i could be wrong.
Edit :
This is why i love s-off....no more relocking / unlocking the BL with also an increased chance of bricks. The BL isn't made to be relocked and unlocked over and over.

Sorry, but I believe this is misinformation, possibly residual to older HTC devices. I've heard this going back to the M7.
You need to be s-off to flash in download mode, but s-on can flash signed firmware and ruu's in RUU mode. I'm s-off so I can't test at the moment, but I'm about 99% that my information is correct.
S-on, you can only flash same or newer, though. You can't flash older firmware.
See post 19 here:

I'm 100% that you can flash signed firmware package in ruu mode with bootloader unlocked and s-on.

I'm not exactly sure, but up until 3.0.2.2 Captain Throwback didn't even have the device and was working blind. I know he was trying different things to make it compatible with different variants, too, so in my mind that was a test build. I'm not sure why they have it on the downloads page. For me, I always download it from the download section of the twrp thread.
So i locked the bootloader on my htc 10 that i want to sell. now it doesn't boot, just immediately turns off. cannot flash backup as i have stock recovery and locked bootloader, can't unlock bootloader as the option is turned off in settings therefor giving me an error. any idea how to fix?
