Hi
Really appreciate any ideas on how to fix my LG G3.
Purchased phone on eBay - not sure where it's from but have asked buyer (if anyone knows how, I suspect this is part of my problem). Decided to flash new ROM but, when I installed AndroidNowHD1.4, I started to see lots of com.phone.android that made the phone essentially unusable. I then tried another ROM - SphinxG3NeoV2 - to see if that made a difference. Now when the phone boots, it goes to a Fastboot prompt.
I can get into Recovery OK, and Download mode. When I try the LGFlashTool to install TOT/DLL firmware, it's failing and seems to have an issue getting the IMEI and PID from the phone. Ive also tried installing a KDZ file using a FlashTool and that also is failing.
Many thanks in advance for suggestions!
Cheers,
Gavin

What is it that makes you say it has issues with the IMEI when flashing out of interest?
What the error with flash tool?
We can help you unless you get specific with the error messages dude.
Unbrick

Hi there,
I had the softbrick when I tried flashing the TWRP recovery image and screwed up. The phone didn't start up anymore and didn't go into recovery either. Just a black screen saying [680]fastboot. (on a D855).
Solution:
* Go to youtube,
* Type Unbrick LG G3,
* Open the video from ZEDOMAX,
* Follow the tutorial, all the links are in the description below.
With me, the first time I tried flashing the stock ROM it stoppedd at 15%, the seccond time at 94%, the third time it went all the way. Make sure wait long enough before you disconnect the USB cable. (The screen must be on 3!)
This should solve you problem.
Appologies for the weirdd description to get to the video. I'm new here so I can't popst direct links yet

Hi
Many thanks for responding.
WJ - I was following a similar video but when I watched your suggestion, he made a bit of a deal about digging out an old windows laptop. I was using windows in VMWARE on my mac. I tried it using Boot Camp and it seems to have worked.

Hi guys, here is my problem:
I have the 815P version of lg g4. i upgraded to marshmallow last year via kdz=> lgup=>upgrade and i made the mistake to ENCRYPTthe phone.
today i wanted to go back to lollipop because i prefer root over the newest android. got the right kdz, got the right drivers and did the deed. The thing is, i forgot to unecrypt prior to downgrading
and now im stuck in a bootloop. I can go as far as asking to input the encryption password but then the phone just sits there. I have waited for 15 minutes and it just shows me lg logo, so im guessing its a bootloop alright.
Tried the usual stuff: unplug the battery, plug it again, press up and connect the usb cable...doesnt do anything, lg up doesnt recognize it. What options do i have? im about to cry now :crying:
All I could find is to boot into fastboot use the following command:
fastboot erase userdata
And perform a factory reset again

Thanks for the response. It was a defective usb cable that was preventing me from going download mode. i used the original cable and was able to upgrade to MM, remove encryption and downgrade to LP again.
I just got the official update to Marshmallow and I decided to just do it since it is official. It downloaded and then installed. Then it rebooted and showed that "apps are being optimized" screen and after that a bootloop of the lg logo. Rebooting doesnt work only if I take the battery out but afterwards there's still a bootloop. I also didn't do root or anything else to my device. I can not enter download mode or recovery either, but honestly idk if it has worked before.
Can anyone with probably similar experiences help me? Thanks in Advance from Germany
LG G3 D855 16Gb Europe unlocked Marshmallow update boot loop.

I have exactly the same issue. I have a German-bought LG G3 d855 updating this morning to Marshmallow. It is now caught in exactly the same boot loop. I get the LG logo, for a few minutes (the brightness changes during this time) followed by the "Android is updating..." app optimization screen which optimizes my 44 apps before going back to the logo in a constant cycle. Then my 44 apps get optimized yet again, and on it goes. I can't enter recovery, none of the button combinations has any effect. Phone has no mods, and was working fine before this.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Hi,
Similar issue here, my phone updated today (also no root, no mods) and for a couple of hours everything worked fine (just some missing apps after the process, but ok), then I went to flight mode and back and then it started with the reboot loops.
The reboots on my phone happen after some seconds in the home screen, so I have time to try to set it in flight mode again, and in some cases, after this it stops rebooting, but in flight mode, with no connections at all.
I'm trying to remove things to avoid doing a factory reset by now, removing cache didn't help...
Is your phone rebooting also after loading the home screen? or it just loops in the LG screen or in the apps update screen?
Hello,
I had the same problem. Just hardware reset the device and the device will continue from optimizing the apps
Instructions on how to hard reset see the video find on youtube "How to Enter into Recovery Mode on LG G3!"

Hi
I managed to recover my phone, BUT I didn't manage to recover my personnal data... I had to reset everything...
My method : with this tool https://www.google.fr/url?sa=t&rct=j&q=&esrc=s&source=web&cd=1&cad=rja&uact=8&ved=0ahUKEwi9oJnC66bMAhWHDsAKHY_cBVQQFggdMAA&url=http%3A%2F%2Fforum.xda-developers.com%2Fshowthread.php%3Ft%3D2683691&usg=AFQjCNGG5q9UKA6oKXlahEEOksUo8faGrw&sig2=cTz4bAtdqp4BEut2S4B2GA enter your imei, and download KDZ file, latest directly from LG server.
Then follow this method (in french sorry)
http://www.phonandroid.com/forum/installation-propre-flasher-facilement-un-firmware-officiel-fichier-kdz-lg-g3-t97193.html#p1452621
You can try "normal flash" at the first time, but if it doesn't work (for me it doesn't work) you will have to choose "CSE Flash" and it should work. But you will loose your personnal data. So be strong.

Bro Thank You so much ive been searching for solution the last 2 days and you finally saved my life Thank you Man !
i have the same problem....after the stock firmware has been restored, what method is used to get the proper working marshmallow upgrade?
I went from 5.0 to 6.0 using the LG PC Suite.
0 problems, 0 reboots, quick and fast. Did you update through OTA?
yes i did but still boot lop............is it the battery?
so ?
Same problem here, did you find a solution ?
New G3 from LG but back in bootloop after 24h of use.
Thank you.
I got the exact same issue, neither hard reset or flashing firmware works. Is there any other solution or should i start looking for a new phone?
Edit: Somehow it works just fine now lol. Tried flashing it like 3 times and hard reset twice and now after an hour of constant optimizing apps bootlopping i pulled out the battery for like the 100th time and now it works, what the hell. Looks like my G3 will die soon tho haha
Hello to all of you,
Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
I bought second hand a LG G4 H815 with CyanogenMod 14 already installed on it.
Everything was fine until I installed my Ebanking apps, that would not function with an unlocked bootloader. I needed to return to a clean factory safe state...
It was the second time I flashed a rom in my whole life, the first one was a Galaxy S plus years ago.
I followed all the instructions for the KDZ flash in this tutorial but I stumbled upon a "Upgrade stopped due to error" in LG flash tool.
I retried 3 or 4 times but with no luck. I verified that the ROM was correct for my model and it was. European and all...
I tried LGUP but my phone is unknown ( at least it's detected)...
I read some posts and told myself "I probably have messed up something, let's try it again with a fresh thing"... I clicked on the factory reset button and carried on.
There the phone booted on TWRP (That i didn't know existed before this). As I explored the menus with a TWRP google search on the computer, I began to realize that the factory reset was maybe a bad thing to do with a custom rom. I tried to reboot but I always end up booting on TWRP.
I re-tried to flash in download mode, but with always the "Upgrade stopped due to error".
I also tried to flash directly from TWRP a stock rom. Didn't work.
I was beginning to lose it and tried to flash the CM14 version I had before, juste to have a working phone again, but even this didn't work... I'm stuck with a TWRP phone
I need some help there...

uninstall any drive for g4 from pc and reinstall again and lgup. now reboot phone to download mode when lgup is open first check upgrade opsion and when open kdz check refurbish opsion and start. good luck
Thank you for your answer
Still no luck
Uninstalled drivers
Rebooted PC
Reinstalled the drivers
Still unknown device
The best way to flash stock image is to use official LG Bridge app. Download it, turn off your phone, connect it to PC while holding volume up button - phone will go into download mode. Then there is option for software restore in LG Bridge but i won't tell u where exactly. If it won't work i would try on another PC. If it won't work maybe you would be able to flash stock image trough send_command but i won't help you with it.

Thank you a lot Avantu, the LG Bridge did the trick! I now have a factory rom!
First time rooter, and my phone will not "start".
When I started Rooting yesterday, I hadn't ever heard of SDK manager. After updating the drivers on my new laptop, I had to test type C to my phone. Those drivers where out of date, and I came across WinDroid.
After I updated my drivers, my dreams came true knowing my phone could be rooted via WinDroid. I unlocked the Bootloader this morning. Then I flashed TWRP. It got me to recovery mode, where TWRP wanted a password to decrypt.
According to a forum thread or two, it didn't need a password to work. However, Rooting and TWRP is foreign to me, so when I got to the main menu of TWRP, I restarted without a backup (I think) and went to WinDroid's step three, Gain Root.
I waited maybe half an hour for my phone to restart, but it wouldn't ever reach full reboot. Now I'm in Fastboot mode, and not sure how to continue.
1) I've been using this thread as reference to not lose my phone indefinitely.
2) I've done steps 1-5 in the beginners thread but stopped on 6 since my phone won't restart to download the SUPERSU.
3) Step 9 and 11 yield no results(yet), since not all of the XXXXX.img files are there, and I don't know how to run the fastboot flash-all script successfully(google tutorial).
4) Some details: Nexus 5X, project fi to T-Mobile port, and have had android N since beta.
Fastboot Mode
Product Name- Bullhead
Variant-bullhead LGH790 16GB
HW Version- rev_1.0
Bootloader Version-BHZ11H
BaseBand Version- M8994f-2.6.36.2.20
Carrier Info- N/A
Serial Number- 00CA...bad5
Signing- Production
Secure Boot- enabled
Device State- Unlocked
Any help would be appreciated, since I don't think it's, you know, bricked.
Thanks.
next time i suggest nexus root toolkit:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/ne...olkit-wugs-nexus-root-toolkit-v2-1-0-t3258492
there is also a restore option where you can chooe "Soft-Bricked/Bootloop" and than if success, start from new or learn more about it before starting again.
What exactly is a soft-brick?

Thanks, but the issue was that I got overzealous from an updated driver (yay! my computer see's my phone). What would cause a soft brick? Last update for NexRoot was Sept, and since I don't have a backup, I don't know what it would be restoring.
