I dropped my Nexus 6P. Broke glass. oops. I replaced it with a Nexus 5X. Updated it.
Bluetooth is about 4 to 5 seconds lag. Watching YouTube mouths move before sound and if I'm on my lunch break or showing a friend something it makes it unwatchable.
I'm running stock Android 7.0 on Fi, not rooted yet.
Is there any to fix the lag? Would upgrading to one of the Pixel 7.1.1 ROMS here be something I should try?

I don't know why but previous to having the Galaxy S6 I had the Nexus 6. It has serious issues playing Puzzles and Dragons without lagging. I also had issues with Brave Frontier. I don't understand why. It's hardware was plenty capable from what I understand. This was without Encryption. Fast forward to now. I've had my N5X for a few days and am just now getting around to setting it up. I've rooted, removed encryption and BL unlock. The phone is blazing fast... until I decide to play a game. Puzzles and Dragons and Brave Frontier are STILL laggy as all get out. What's the deal? They work flawlessly on the Galaxy S6. If this is going to be an ongoing trend I may need to send the N5X back and stick with the Galaxy S6. This is incredibly frustrating.
Hmm I just tried brave frontier on both my n6 and n5x and it seemed pretty smooth. I just tried out the tutorial though. I'm not really into these types of games.

I was going to get the 5x, but none of my friends whom already had .... had the phone said that don't buy one
It's not a Nexus .... No Nexus laggy
Is there an update or solution to it?
if you come from an old phone like galaxy s3 or galaxy s5 then Nexus 5X then you will notice improvement you won't notice the lag.
but if you come from a very fast phone like HTC one M8 and iphone 6s and Nexus 6 (2014) then you might notice some lag on Nexus 5X
It's not a deal breaker. you should be ok. try testing it from a High Street (shopping Center) shop and if you like it keep it or get a exchange or refund if you have problems with it.
if you like fast update's and 3 years of update cycle then get Nexus 5x or Nexus 6P.
and After 3 years you can Install new ROMs and kernels and get the latest Android. its Good for developers etc.
Nexus 6P is more faster.
depends what you like. everyone is different. you think different then me and like different things then me.
some people like more features like split screen, SD card, removable battery, better speakers, battery life. etc.
I think the solution is to remove the 3rd party software that is causing their lag. As far as I'm concerned, this device does not lag in any way. Faster than my Nexus 5 and runs cooler while doing so.
im coming from htc m7, no lag at all, a lil stutter here and there, but not lag
I come from the Oneplus One and i notice lag in everything, its not stuttering but its just slow to respond on things like opening apps, it just takes a bit longer for it to load things, quite annoying.
I have owned my Tab S 10.4 since launch but its getting slow and android 5.02 update isn't great making it laggy.
So last week I bought an ASUS Zenpad 3s 10 which was a fantastic screen etc but the wifi connection is poor. So its been returned.
I noticed yesterday that the Pixel C has £100 off. Is it a great buy, or is something else expected imminently from Google hence the discount?
I've been holding off for the Tab s3 but that seems to be a way off.
thanks loads
You will be blown away
I have both the tab s2 and pixel c. I kinda prefer the tab s2. More vivid screen and sd card support and semi up to date. The c is more premium feeling but wifi is quite weak too due to its all alu construction.
I also had the tab s2 and pixel c. Pixel c is better.
Samsung has more of a vivid screen but the pixel c is sharper and more natural
Pixel c is a lot more powerful. Way better graphics and CPU
It's heavier but a lot more premium feel. The tab s2 feels a bit like a stick I had one for a year and it warped.
Software is much smoother and better on the pixel c
You will always get updates on pixel c. Already on 7.1.1
Who knows when or if the tab s2 will get nougat
Sound is better on the pixel c too
Oh and the keyboard is awesome if you ever get one
The tab s2 is a very good tablet no doubt but the pixel c is much better
I got the Pixel C after my tab s was stolen, it's a worthy upgrade in every sense.

How's the wifi after the latest updates? Has it improved?
My home and work wifi routers are strong and fast, so I'm not expecting much of a problem. I've just been reading a lot of complaining about the Pixel C's wifi...

I've never really had an issue with it because I've always been relatively close to an access point. The thing is that various people have been having screen issues (I started a thread where half my screen froze and I had to RMA it, about a month or two later at least ten other people reported the same thing, even on replacements. The volume down button on my replacement died after about two months).

Thanks, man.
I just pulled the trigger and bought one from the Google Play store for $499 64gig.
The play store will be easier to RMA if needed and so will unlocking and rooting. Also Android versions updates will be quick for the time being...
I realise there's little dev support, but just having it rooted with a custom kernel and possibly running xposed, I should be good to go.
Thanks for your input.
No problem buddy. It's a great tablet when it doesn't screw up haha I use mine daily since I got it last year.
I want a pixel C, but I don't want to pay that much for a tablet released in 2015. Looking forward to the next Google tablet.
It's worth the upgrade
Definitely worth it, 3 months and 0 issue with mine so far. I find WiFi seems only problematic with cheap router and crowded WiFi channel. I use a Asus ac5300 and never had a single connection problem and mind you I have a crowded WiFi neighborhood.
The battery life is phenomenal, if you use the magnetic keyboard be mindful I found it's really easy to scratch the screen sliding the kb, I install a screen protector just in case.
Any software update fixed this issue?
Anything else should know about this device? (go for OP3 or S7, heard the S7 users start to complain about screen issue so the OP3 is on the list) about multitouch, screen burn-in, lags... ?

and some others on reddit
This was during the time that they limted the amount of apps, i can confirm this has been patched a long time ago.. Currently it should be fastee then the S7.

Yeah.. I agree. This phone doesn't miss a beat. I came from the Samsung note 4 and it's just not comparable at all. The 820 + 6Gbof ram + DASH charge is a killer combo.
I can play an intense game, listen to music, FAST charge my phone all at the same time, Without it getting hot. Eat your heart out Samsung, Apple, LG.
I have an axon 7 and op3.. The performance and multitasking of op3 beats out axon.. Op3 can have 20 or so of my apps open without redraws. (Mostly gmail, adibe, file explorers, xda, asphalt 8, smashy brick, drastic...)
But my axon 7, even with a performance I'd mark at being 10% worse than the op3 (which is still awesome!) Has those dual firing speakers.. Makes all the games, especially racing ones way more intense.. I keep covering the speaker on my op3!
Funny that OP has done his research based on a report 6 months ago. If OP had type the exact same question on google search, a more recent report with the rectification or build.prop mod would surface.
In fact, build.prop rectifications date back to about 4 months ago.

Hi,
Must say i really love my nexus 7 but it got to a point it has become too slow running apps even on the ROM running Android Q, AOSPExtended 7.3, which is quite amazing.
So i went out and bought a Samsung Tab s6. Nice high end tablet until i was reading in bed and fell asleep. Then my S6 fell on me and i though it broke my tooth (thankfully it was not broken)
long story short, i want to go back to me N7 and wanted to know if it is possible to swap the CPU to make the N7 faster.
Anyone try this?
So many questions... My nexus 7 doesnt lag. I'll trade you for that Samsung lol seriously tho, tf dropping it on your tooth have to do with... Never mind, just never mind lol is this even a serious question? Yea its possible. I just put the snapdragon 865 in my old sidekick 4g. Was overheating and acting glitchy so I threw a stick of 8 gb ddr5 ram in to aide the stock 512mb ram stick and now it's like butter. Smooth AF. Ordered me a 12th gen Intel i7 for my Tmo galaxy s2 Hercules. Can't wait for newegg to ship that ish. It's gonna own every phone out lol
Maybe going back is going forward....
I am a noob, and not particularly wise in these matters.... I am very happy running Wileyc's LineageOS 14.1 weekly builds. Maybe running newer android versions on an older tablet places too much demand on the N7's resources..... Just a thought. I may just be blowing air.....
Here is the link to Wileyc's [ROM][7.1.2][UNOFFICIAL] LineageOS 14.1 weekly builds for Nexus 7 2013 (deb/flo). It is the last official build for Lineage 7.1, unchanged except for updated security:
