[Q] Phone still encrypted after odin, stuck in bootloop

Hi all,
I have a soft-bricked GS3 that I can't revive even after using odin 3.09. Hope you guys can help.
My encrypted phone was running CM10.1.3 and I decided to update it to CM10.2 using sideload. That didn't go well and I was stuck with the CM bootloop.
So after several tries with sideloading I decided to use odin to turn it back to stock. I tried both the stock LG1 and LK3 and both went thru the flash without issues but after the phone reboots it asks for the encrypted storage password. After the password entry it's stuck at the samsung logo bootloop. (p.s. LG1 recognized my encryption p/w but LK3 didn't)
I had flashed using odin on an encrypted phone before and I don't think the encryption stays after the odin flash. Am I missing something like flashing the bootloader together with the .tar file? I tried searching and google but can't seem to find an answer.
Any suggestions? Thanks!!!

Can you try booting into recovery and doing a hard wipe/factory reset? If you flashed a stock *.tar file via Odin, it should deliver a complete stock system with all partitions updated. There shouldn't be need to flash a bootloader separately.

Got it. Thanks!! I kept thinking that I couldn't use the recovery because CWM does not see the encrypted partition and therefore cannot do a hard wipe. I totally forgot that after odin I was back to stock recovery and therefore could do the wipe. Thanks again!!

bootloop after flashing recovery

hey,
I wanted to root my nexus 5x too, first I tried to do so with the nexus tool kit....
it was all working until it came to the root process:
it said in the log:
Rooting....
Waiting for your device....
and nothing else happened anymore.
So I tried it manually with a guide.
As the bootloader was already unlocked, I continued with flashing the recovery (twrp 2.8.7.2) in fastboot.
Then it rebooted into the recovery.
Then twrp asked me for a password, (Mount) decrypt Data. I skip it without entering a password. And I didn't add a pattern or PIN to unlock my phone at the first boot up.
I allowed the system modification then... so then before rebooting, twrp wasn't asking me if I want to flash the SuperSu.
Since this I'm stuck in a bootloop.
I can boot into the bootloader and recovery, I also tried to do a factory wipe or also formating data. But none of them worked for me. I'm still stuck in the bootloop...
I have no idea what to do now....
I'm really thankfull for every kind of help!
sorry wrong subforum...
Try to reflash TWRP over adb-console(on your pc) and then Root- Systemless version.
If you have any questions ask!!

I have to add something which i forgot to mention.....after I flashed the recovery and booted into it for the first time, twrp asked me for a password, (Mount) decrypt Data. I skip it without entering a password. And I didn't add a pattern or PIN to unlock my phone at the first boot up.
I'm not able boot my phone up anymore.... I can try to flash the recovery with fastboot again...if this is what you mean?
okay i pushed the supersu zip onto the phone, and just flashed it. And my phone is booting normally now
thank you very very much. you saved me and my phone
That's nice to hear.
Have Fun with your Phone!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

can anyone help me? phone is stuck!

okay so i tried to flash a cypher OS rom on my sultanxda CM13 and my phone is currently not going into recovery so basically i am stuck in fastbood mode . my device state is unlocked and when i restart or try to go into recovery the phone just turns off and does nothing. the only way i can actually turn the phone on is by holding volume up + power + home (hard reset tactic)
can anyone help me?
so where do i go from here? i tried the toolkit unlocked and re-locked the bootloader, tried to flash stock recovery img, tried to flashing twrp, nothing works guys.
flash Original Rom
Make sure you're using latest modified recovery (28) by eng.stk.
From your description the phone most probably doesn't actually turn off, it just displays black screen (common issue caused by TWRP incompatibility).

You re-locked the bootloader while you were still on a custom ROM and/or recovery?

(Q) Where to find stock Helium Firmware

Just recieved device a few days ago and unlocked the bootloader, was expecting a data wipe but it rebooted right where I left it. Unlock was confirmed in dev options. Booted into TWRP (but did not flash it) with the intent of doing a full untoched ROM backup to SD card. Really couldn't get past the opening screen asking me for password to decrypt data. Tried my lock screen pin and defaut_password but no luck. Went to reboot and it wouldn't boot so I booted back into TWRP, formated and installed pre-rooted ROM. Would like to download the stock firmware if possible. Could any kind person point me in the right direction? Thanks,
Go here to download rom http://en.miui.com/a-234.html
On left select either fastboot flashing method or recovery flashing method choose which one you'd prefer to use

My device not responding and stuck on samsung logo

Hi evreyone !
My device Galaxsy j2 dont responed and stuck on samsung logo
I try this :
A.hard reset using recovey mod but recovrey lock and i cant use factory reset ( when i press factory reset the device write " factory reset is disable")
B.i try to flash the original rom using odin but i get failed message .
Bootlooder is disable
Adb dbuging is also disable and i have no idea what to do:crying:
Thanks in advance
Up ..guys help plzz:crying:
Hey friend,
If Your Device Is Rooted, Boot Into TWRP Recovery And Wipe Data/Wipe Cache/Format/data.
Then Download The Latest Firmware For Your J2 And Flash Through ODIN V3 Only.
It Will Repair Itself.
If It Is Not Rooted, Also Do The Same.
It will Wake Up.OK
But the device not root and factory reset is disbale..
Guys..
Most of the Odin failed message arises from incorrect drivers and loose USB attachment. Check both and boot ur phone into download mode and flash official stock rom.
