So now Samsung pay is no longer supported and won't download to this device. Calling out to any S7E users or N7 users that are rooted that can change model name in build prop to see if they can download and share the updated app! Thanks community!
It's my understanding that routing breaks Knox. Thus, Samsung pay no longer works anyway
Yup if you have a rooted device you cannot use Android pay, Samsung pay, Pokemon go, or Snapchat i believe. Safetynet will block your device if it finds root files on your phone.

You don't need root (and samsung pay won't work). Search for samsung pay apk. Use version 2.3.00 for the pay apk and 2.5 for framework apk.
I found both of them on apkmirror and sammobile.
Just sideload them (enable unknown apk install from setting first), first framework and then samsung pay itself.
Let us know if you're successful.

Great idea, looking now. Thanks.
Now I'm screwed! I downloaded the newest Samsung pay which was 2.4.33 on apkmirror and framework 2.5 and every time I unlocked Samsung pay via fingerprint, iris, or pattern it would close the payment method. The app opens, but can't be used to pay for anything. What's strange is Samsung Pay said the latest version was 2.4.03 which I didn't even see as an option in apkmirror. Samsung Cloud isn't restoring the app either. This sucks now I can't use it at all.
I did the same thing and had to go back to the 2.3 version I just downloaded it and installed it and everything repopulated

As I said before, use version 2.3.00 not anything else.
Uninstall your version (anything above 2.3.00 will not work) and use the version 2.3.00 from APKMIRROR. Just install the samsung pay, keep the framework.
You should be good to go.

This no longer works. Its forcing me to do an update (that fails). i sideloaded the newest version by itself and then it seems like it wants to work but wants me to have a wireless carrier and I cant get that on my Note 7. Is there any way to trick it into thinking im on a wireless carrier or jump from another device?

you need to sideload samsung pay apk. I joined Note7Alliance and downloaded from there. I just did it today, as I was being asked by the app to upgrade. Not sure if its was the latest one or one version before...

Did you remove the one on your phone that wouldn't work before downloading the new one? Does everything work?

I am running on stock rooted OF8 and can't seem to run android pay. Setting it up it says that it can't determine if it is compatible. Google wallet did work before. Anyone else run into this?
Apparently it doesn't work on rooted phones. Read some where that you can activate it and then root afterwards but haven't tried it yet.

works for me non root for now
Were i can find android pay ?
It worked for me non rooted at a vending machine. Though rooted or not at Maverick and Smiths, (3 times total) it has caused my phone to freeze after I verify my pattern lock.
Anyone having that issue?
Haven't been even able to set it up. Rooted on OF8. I'm going to flash the new build tonight and see if I can get it working before I root again and see what happens.
Use an app like RootCloak or HideMyRoot. Once you hide root you can add your cards with no problems. Using it to pay you will need to hide root again.... way too many steps for it to be convenient for me.

Where can I get a working version of either of those apps? All the ones I found doing a Google search are outdated and people say they don't work anymore.
I use Hide My Root from the PlayStore. It worked for what i needed but you cant use it for individual apps like RootCloak can. I'm odexed and can't get RootCloak going.

Worked for me today at mcdonalds i unrooted so i can update to get samsung pay.

I need help with getting Android Pay to work on my rooted Note 4 because I keep getting the Android Pay cannot be used message. I do know that Android Pay does does block rooted users so I've tried various workarounds with none of them working.
I tried the method where I installed Root Cloak and added Android Pay, Google Play Service and Google Service Framework to apps it hides root from and cleared the data from those 3 apps. I also installed No Device Check since from what I saw, Android Pay does use SafetyNet to check your devices firmware whether it has been modified or not. Does anybody have any ideas of how to get this to work without losing root access or having to go back to stock?

Hey y'all,
It's great to see all the development for our device. I feel like I'm a few short steps from getting Samsung pay to work but I'm just exhausted. Asking for some help.
I was able to flash the stock marshmallow PaulPizz provided for us and Full unroot, then flash Magisksu and Magisk. Currently I've passed root checks, Safetynet and My knox status even lists 0x0. AndroidPay is currently working but let's not stop there. My problem is google no longer lists SamPay as compatible for our device. Looks like I need to get my phone to show up as a Note5. Tried changing the buildprop but still not letting me download them from play. Sideloading SamPay triggers something called DroidX protection.
Anybody pull this off yet?
Thanks to @PaulPizz

I recently tested paulpizz rom/kernel with magisk at staples. It worked fine. If safetynet passes and you can add cards to android pay, nfc will work. Otherwise it is an hardware issue.
Hello everyone.
I have really tried to find an answer to my question but I failed. If anyone can help me or just give me a hint where to look I will be very thankful.
My problem is that some time ago I have decided to try and install LineageOS on my G960F/DS. Everything went fine, but after few days I wanted to go back to a stock firmware.
I have downloaded a stock firmware, reflashed with Odin, did all the wipes and stuff and my phone works fine (then I realized that S9 has this shi*ty eFuse, but let's forget it now).
Still I am not able to activate my Google Pay. Everytime I try to activate my bank card I get a message
Your phone may be rooted or modified in some different way.

I know there is a thong called Magisk Hide, but as far as I know it is not working.
Is there any way to get Google Pay to work?

Literally just used Google pay, like 2 minutes ago. I'm rooted using magiskhide.
This actually has happened to me also after the last update. I use Google Pay all the time and now it says I'm rooted. I'm not rooted because I have a ATT S9.
I bought galaxy watch and I own a rooted xiaomi mi 9.
Samsung pay on my smartphone says I cant use it because its rooted, even if im using magisk hide and safety net is passing. I can even use google pay, everything works but samsung pay!
Can you help me?
Looks like ive resolved it..i renamed magisk with random name, deleted every reference innfile system (every folder named twrp/magisk ecc), then it started working
As I know with rooted smartphone don't working pay service. I guess reason is security. If you found a way to get this service with rooted smartphone - lucky you. But even banks as I know stopping to work if detecting that smartphone is rooted. Anyway I can't understand why need these days to root smartphone even with not stability OS which is not official and only creator know will be any new version of it or not. Smartphones these days have a lot of memory is powerful and most apps they letting to delete or hide it. Why need to modify original stock ROM? For problems with service, because like this one stopping to work and need to find way to get it again. I just can't understand.
