Is it possible to get a soundbyte to play everytime we turn the screen on and off? That would super awesome. I'd love it if i could get it to make it sound like a lightsaber turning on and off. Thats the nerd in me lol
Edit: Sorry, im running cm7 nightly.

I honestly doubt it, if there is, and no one has replied, I don't think anyone knows

Or maybe the person that has the answer hasn't seen the question yet. But this would be a cool feature

Well if there's a soundbyte for locking and unlocking... There's half of it!... Kind of, if you lock your phone that is.
So maybe.
Has me curious now... it does have the option for the sound when you lock unlock... so is that sound byte replaceable?
It's /system/media/audio/ui/Lock.ogg
Seems like the same sound is used for both lock and unlock. You could try replacing it and see what happens.

Would it have to be an .ogg?

I do not notice a sound when unlocking the phone. How did you get a sound to play?

Do you have the slider or rotary lock on?

At first guess, I'd say so, since the system is looking for that particular filename. When Google released Android, all the system sounds were in ogg format. It's a feature, not a bug.

there's actually a Lock.ogg and an Unlock.ogg that i've seen. i have tried replacing one with a .ogg sound file, but it doesn't hold. it still reverts back to the original sounds for me
I don't know if you've already found an answer but I got mine to play a sound when turning the screen on/off by installing Widgetlocker, one of the options it offers is to play a sound when locking/unlocking phone as well as when turning the screen on/off.
It has a lot more features that I use and love, but it is a Paid app and dont know if you want to buy it just for the sound option. Hope this helps!
Edit: It doesnt have an option to play a custom sound on the app, but you may be able to change it on the apk?? Just a thought, I've never tried it.
I just replaced the oggs in the ui folder in sounds.
idk about CM7 but it worked fine in CM6. Someone posted it a while back.
I've got Metal Gear Solid sounds for Lock/Unlock =)
Mind you don't forget to enable them in sound settings.

That's kind of BA! Now, please pardon my noobness... but did you use a software to convert the files to ogg or did you fing them in that format?
I wouldn't mind having the Batman: Arkham Asylum gadget sound on mine

Either audio programs or websites. I use www.media.io
EDIT: Remember to enable lock sounds in sound settings.

Hi guys,
Might be a silly questions - but I can't find the option to shut the camera up, for it not to make that annoying shutter sound. Do you have any idea how to disable it?
Thanks.

if you are rooted go to /system/media/audio/ui and delete or rename the according files!

Yes. This isn't a flashable zip by the way. It contains a file that you replace the original with... The file is default_gain.conf (found in system/etc)
Backup the original first.
Or do what TML1504 suggested. That's what I usually do.
Not possible on a none-rooted device?
When the phone is in vibrate or silent mode, there is no camera sound

Mute the phone. The camera sounds get muted too.

There's no option to turn the shutter sound off like the Note?
Out of curiousity, I just tried muting the phone but camera shutter noise still exist. Any reasons why? different models?

Or, to make it the cleanest possible:
Under /system/csc, there is a feature.xml file.
Edit it, and under the <!-- Camera --> section, add the following line:
Code:
<CscFeature_Camera_ShutterSoundMenu>true</CscFeature_Camera_ShutterSoundMenu>
And you will have an option in the Camera settings to disable the shutter sound.

Same here, awesome!
Unbelievable! My hubby's 6 year old feature phone has a camera that you can't turn off the stupid sound.
I am stunned that on the Note 2, you must first mute your phone, then open the camera app, then hope your subject is still standing there waiting for the shot. Or I have the option of rooting my phone.
I don't know why, but this just pisses me off! :silly:
i did it on my G2. Will this zip work for the G Pad also. I have it all set up so i don't want to mess anything up

why not just change notification sounds?? you're not forced to use a single specific sound

Hello guys, here i present you:
High Volume Mod For Moto Maxx
When i First got the device, i noticed that the speaker and incall volume are too low, coming from a Oneplus One, it was extremely noticiable
So based on the guide and work of @abhi08638, i created this volume mod for Moto Maxx
WORKS ON KITKAT AND LOLLIPOP STOCK BUILDS!
The stock Volume Value is 84, this mod puts it on 90 making it noticiable louder.
i've already tested it and its safe, doesnt affect anything .
To get better results i highly recommend turning off audio effects on speaker on:
sound/Audio Effects/Speaker/ Equalizer off
Prerequisites:
Rooted
TWRP Installed
Installation:
Assuming you already have TWRP, take the attached zip file (Moto Maxx High Volume) and flash it on TWRP
thats all!
Uninstall:
Flash the attached zip (Moto Maxx Stock Volume) and Flash it on TWRP
Thats all!, the changes are undone!
You'll see the diference, to notice the results make a call with somebody before flashing this zip and then make a call again after flashing this zip, you'll notice the difference.
If this was useful Press Thanks and if you have $1.00 spare on paypal, i can always take it

i tested this time ago and the audio was too loud and sounds crackly

I don't have any crackle I avoided that kind of issues, I heard crackling at 92 but not at 90, you sure didn't modify the equalizer?

noticeable diference with this mod. just percep a little bass loss with high volume levels. maybe this is making crackly on high levels. but works great for me at all.
xt1225 brasil 4.4.4 model.
Basically, on the Moto X Pure if you deleted System/Vendor/Etc folder it would remove all of Motorola's dumb ascending audio crap. This made all system audio, notifications, and ringtones play at a fantastic loud volume as they should. However, doing this same trick on the Z Play does not solve it like it did on the Pure.
Does anyone know how to correct this? Being able to actually hear the lock/unlock sounds, touch sounds, would be great... o.o
Thanks,

Got rid of ascending ringtones, but did not fix the silent notifications (when you go to settings, sounds, notifications none of them play). On stock based ROM with no sound mods.
Flashing arise fixes it, but breaks safetynet :S

Also, when I get off of a phone call the System Audio volume levels are normal again and loud as they should be, but only for about 30-90 seconds and then they go ultra quiet again... what on earth. o.o

I've had goofy glitches like what you described on stock nougat. Flashing arise seems to fix all audio related issues, so whatever it overwrites is what's causing problems. I would say just flash arise and enjoy, but it modified system and break safetynet
