Only have Fastboot no ADB - OnePlus 3 Questions & Answers

Ok let me start out by saying 99.99 percent of the time I can recover from a soft brick situation as I am very familiar with both ADB and Fastboot commands. However I cannot connect via ADB (ADB devices displays nothing) where as Fastboot devices does. I have flashed both twrp and stock recoveries with the same results. It cannot boot into recovery mode only Fastboot mode.
Suggestions are welcome thanks for any help anyone can provide.

If you are using Win10 PC or Laptop, the issue is with the drivers installed.
Search for Win10 issues in OP3 forum and you will get the answer. A simple solution is to use Win7 if you can.

Nope I pulled my windows7 pc out just because I know that win10 can be finicky

Flash the above mentioned recovery by blusparks through fastboot since your fastboot is not an issue .....
It should make your recovery usable. Once done flash any of the oos builds, and before booting flash this same recovery trough twrp and supersu then restart.
You may have done this before, but humor me and do exactly as i asked you to...... Won't hurt.....

i rooted my galaxy nexus last night, and today i was trying to put a rom on it, i went to wipe the cache, and now it wont boot past the google screen and im freaking out!
Before you flashed did you wipe system? Huh I bet not even so you only mention wipe cache....what about data , dalvik ?
Did you read directions in the op for the ROM?
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk 2
it told me to wipe to factory, i tried doing that and it just froze, and now it wont boot. im trying to figure all this out but im a little over my head unfortunately.
Try booting into recovery and then wiping and flashing your ROM
i was trying to flash the codename android 1.6 rom, i cant post the link it wont let me
when i boot into recovery mode, it shows a droid with its chest open and a red exclamation point
I've never heard of that ROM but in fastboot will it let you use your volume and power keys to navigate to recovery? If not, try using fastboot commands on the computer to get into recovery (if you can? I'm not too acquainted with fastboot commands)
i can get into recovery but then it shows the droid with the red alert

That's fastboot. Try looking into fastboot commands and see if any command will let you boot into recovery from there.
You buggered the boot image... Just flash it again, via fastboot...
They are normally in .Franco kernels...
you mean through terminal and stuff? my knowledge to this stuff is still pretty basic so im trying to grasp all of this

Yes. Fastboot is used, in CMD (Windows) Gnome terminal (Ubuntu/Linux distributions) and the Mac OS terminal...
You need to install the ADB drivers and download the fastboot/adb files first, though (Check the Windows 8 thread (In my signature), all you need is in there...
Or, download a .Franco kernel (Check the developement section, for your device (GSM/verizon/Sprint) and search the forum...
i did fastboot and all that stuff on my laptop at home(the one i rooted it with), do i basically need to redo all of that?

No, that is not fastboot. That is recovery. He has the stock recovery flashed, which is the Android lying on its back with a red exclamation point.

You need to flash CWM before you do anything else. Get it from the link in my signature and flash it in fastboot. Then boot into CWM, do a wipe, and re-flash the ROM you want.

If he sees the Android lying on his back with the red ! then he has the STOCK recovery flashed, not CWM.

Ah, ok! None of that was mentioned in the thread. Had no idea that you were helping him -- I thought you were helping him in this thread.

Help, soft bricked my device.

I was attempting to unlock/root and long story short, now I have TWRP installed, and I can get to FASTBOOT but if i try to boot normally I get the Nexus logo, and no further. When I unlocked, I installed TWRP then loaded it. After leaving TWRP it said 'Seems you are not rooted, want to root"? or something to that effect. I clicked YES and now I'm stuck. Since I had just unlocked it, it *should* have reset my entire device(which was all stock anyway) so I am not sure what went wrong. I have been trying everything I know but I'm now out of ideas. Would appreciate any help. I see now that the version of SuperSu that it would have pushed would have been wrong, would that be preventing the tablet from booting?
If you can mount in fastboot you're not bricked. You tried to check md5 and push the recovery image again? And also try to throw new ROM on it.

It wont boot so I don't know how to put anything on it, it's empty and doesn't show up in windows. Also I don't know what you meant exactly by push the recovery image again. Twrp is working fine. Sorry I am hardly a pro at this stuff.

I would suggest you just restore your N7 back to stock. No need for root yet, seriously! But this should help get you going in the right direction.
Power it off completely. Hold Power + Volume down until it boots into the bootloader. Run the following commands:
fastboot devices (to confirm you are connected)
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
If you haven't unlocked your N7 yet, run fastboot oem unlock first.

I put TWRP on there, immediately after unlocking. So it should have been completely stock since as far as I know it wipes it when you unlock. After putting TWRP on there, i told it to reboot normally(from within TWRP) and it detected that I was not rooted and asked me if I wanted to install SuperSu. I said yes and now it will not boot to the operating system. It boots fine to Bootloader and Recovery. And I am certain it's connected to my PC because I can even tell it ADB REBOOT BOOTLOADER/RECOVERY and that works. But I don't see how I can load a ROM onto it if I can't access it via windows. I don't know how to get a ROM onto the SD card. Surely there could be a way but I don't know it.

Start over by downloading recovery, Superuser and a clean stock rom image.
But before that you could try to reset all data in recovery (factory reset) and cache if you haven't tried.

Super

I just screwed my phone and can't figure it out.

HTC M8 AT&T
I have been dealing with this all morning and I am about to blow my brains out.
I thought i was running twrp but was instead running CWM.
Previously had Cyanogen Mod working fine on the phone no issue. Just wanted android instead
Tried to install Android Revolution from zip. Boom done. Reboot
Encryption. Try all 10 passwords i EVER use a couple hundred times it seems.
Fail. So i go back to CWM and try to reset phone to factoy. Gives me error "unknown volume for path /sd-ext/
error mounting /sdcard/.android_secure!
Skipping Format
Data Wipe Complete
Boot up still asks for password try a hundred times again. Still nothing
Boot into fastboot to attempt to put TWRP on it. and no computer sees my phone in fastboot.
Any ideas how to save my phone?
Do you a nandroid backup? You can restore your phone and try one more time.
Tapatalked with my "refrigerator look" HTC one M8
Go me the noob. No nandroid.
Any other idea..
Do you get the ding when connecting the phone and are running a command prompt from the folder with fastboot binary and required files?
What response does 'fastboot devices' give?

If you don't hear the ding then you either have a cable problem or a driver problem. Just re-install the drivers and check the cable

From what I seen you going to need to format the sd. You can see if twrp will format it but if that don't work try stock recovery and do a factory reset in bootloader.

As said if you get fastboot working you can flash a custom recovery or stock. You can then download a stock nandroid back up from the stock backups thread then flash the required backup from custom recovery.
All explained in that thread.

make sure the rom is in the same folder as adb / fastboot

Deleted Recovery mode and OS. How to recover?

I tried to install an 2.10.401 RUU via the SD card method, but the zip was corrupt and didn't work. Now I can't go to the recovery mode, it shows a red triangle, and my phone can only boot to the bootloader and to the download mode.
I tried to install a TWRP recovery, but when I type
Code:
adb devices
into the command prompt it doesn't show my phone.
Is there any method to get my phone back?
Any help is appreciated!

Yo bro. I'm using an htc u ultra. In the process of flashing twrp. After saying it was successful. When I go to the recovery mode of my phone. I see like a phone sign. And then after that my screen goes off. And the only way to bring back my phone to the bootloader is by giving the command. "adb reboot- bootloader ". And then I can go back to my phone normally. I can't access twrp. Idk if I even installed it correctly. But I followed all the steps. And everything. But no result
This says I deleted my recovery and idk what to do. Please guide me
