I've been using my OnePlus3 for over tow months moving from Galaxy Note5..
I'm really satisfied with OP3 sooo much and missing only tow things from my N5..
the first is sPen but not that big deal as I almost forgot it!
but the second is in-call sound!! on OP3 it's almost "unhearable".. while there is was loud as you can hear even if it's far from your ear.. I've made some searches and edited alot of .xml files with no luck...
anyone have a solution for this?? it'd be so appreciated!

Sorry for this late replay due to personal problems...
Well when I was on CM14 I couldn't achieve high in-call volume.. but when I changed to H2os changing mixer_pathes and mixer_pathes_tasha gave me a very high volume.. so I think the problem was in cm14 or something wrong I did in the first time...

Yeah it's a known issue with cm14 ROMs at the moment.
I am facing the same problem, this problem started after updating to community build 3.5.4 which has not been fixed in 3.5.5 even after reporting to them. One more thing I have observe that call quality get improved if we move the handset away and put on the loud speaker. Thing needs to be fixed on priority

edit root/system/etc/mixer_paths.xml and change the value (default is 84). 95 is the new high value (look for <path name="speaker">).

Verified doesn't work.
Very nice work OP! I wasn't expecting an alpha-like release so soon! Also, lol at the people reporting bugs that are already written at the original post.
OP updated with new build. Should detect SIM card. Still a bit finicky on getting LTE and setting default APN.
So how are you supposed to flash this? Its not in a single zip file. Sorry its been a long day lol

Zip files show the folders like that on google drive when you are on the mobile version of the browser. While in your browser, hit settings and check "Request desktop site." Just make sure it's checked before you click the link for the ROM and google drive will give you an option to download. It's a down arrow near the top of the page.
Also, I have an unlocked i747 on T-Mobile and the 11\18 build hopped right on the network on boot. I did notice the home botton does not wake the screen. Everything else is working pretty well. Thanks a lot for this.

Google drive opens the zip itself, but you can also download it without browsing it.
Cool i will be testing this asap
Awesome, trying this out. Just flashed it using TWRP, hung the first boot but is now starting up. Hopefully it works haha
Edit: Finished booting, says I have no SIM inserted but still allows me to make phone calls and get and receive texts. I feel like a wizard, otherwise seems kinda nice. Awesome work.

+1 -- anyone having trouble booting take heed. I kept re-flashing and getting a hang on boot and was about to pull my hair out. Turns out just pulling the battery and re-booting once solves the problem.
Initial impressions are quite favorable. The interface seems more fluid overall than KitKat... have encountered practically no stutters or choppy animations in the first half-hour of use, whereas those happened about 10-20% of the time in prior releases.
Note: the AOSP keyboard crashes if you attempt to swipe-type. Solved by downloading Google Keyboard from the Play Store.

Its the next big step for the good ol' S3. Now I'm gonna see how much my T999 likes it. [emoji1]
Very rough build indeed but its a great step! LTE worked right away, seems pretty snappy, and the lollipop easter egg...oh my...android flappy bird with lollipops..lol! Can't wait for this to really take off!
Not really a big deal but it seems as though the screen doesn't respond to touch when you boot up while on the charger. I can't really test anything cell service related since I retired my good old S3, I just couldnt help but bring it back out when I saw CM12 could run on it..

Lol Its a volume booster mod actually. Increases heaphones or speaker volumes. Already a topic in themes & apps section.
Not really... i took a quick look and it seems the values for headphones are the same as the original file

Hello bro!
Is it a bit louder or you feel a good difference? Can you compare with htc loudness?
Sent from my HTC One M9 using XDA Free mobile app
I did it and the rx1 to rx8 values to be 94?
Only difference i hear is static when someone talks on phone calls.
if I'm not mistaken the in call volume is this:
<ctl name="HPHL Volume" value="20" />
<ctl name="HPHR Volume" value="20" />
I changed mine to 34, but do not head a difference
Sent from my VS986 using Tapatalk
I am the same issues as the op in the thread here https://forums.oneplus.net/threads/voice-call-echo-issue-for-person-on-other-end-of-the-call.457774/.
Basically if my op3 is in a call the person on the other end of the call hears an echo of themselves. If I put it on speaker mode then the echo goes away. Does anyone else also have this issue? I'm running Sultans CM13 currently but I had the same issue while running OOS 3.2.6.
EDIT:
Just figured out a fix. Here is what my build.prop looks like now:
persist.audio.fluence.voicerec true
persist.audio.fluence.voicecall true
persist.audio.fluence.speaker true
ro.qc.sdk.audio.fluencetype fluence
After changing those I had to bump up the volume of the mics in the mixer_paths_tasha file:
Under this path: <path name="handset-stereo-dmic-ef">
I change the mics to this:
<ctl name="ADC5 Volume" value="20" />
<ctl name="ADC5 Volume" value="20" />
does it work?
Can anyone confirm this helps?
I'm rather new to editing buildprop and i know i can set it back to the old values though would like to know what im changing and why. I've been digging on google a bit on the strings and basically what i got was that it has to do with noise cancellation (fluence). The actual meaning of changing (or need for) the "voicerec" string was never really explained anywhere.
Also:
why did you put <ctl name="ADC5 Volume" value="20" /> twice? its only on time in the file?
Did you mean another like "...DEC5..." (f.e.) as the second one?

Hello Everyone,

Snapdragon doesn't have Root, but hopefully in the future it will...
This thread isn't for how to TWRP/Magisk,Bootloader unlock or Root...
PLEASE GIVE ME YOUR FEEDBACKS IN ORDER TO IMPROVE THE MOD...
Don't Forget to say :good: THANKS :good:
EXYNOS: I have made SoundMod Magisk Module by Modifying mixers_path.xml & mixers_gain.xml provided by mkc1130 via his system dump...
SNAPDRAGON: Waiting for either system dump or someone with snapdragon device
XDA-Forum-Moderator @TheMadScientist have reopened the thread, thank you...
Download below:
Google Drive - Samsung Galaxy S9/S9+ - Volume Gain - SoundMod
!!! ALWAYS MAKE BACKUP OF YOUR FILES BEFORE REPLACING THEM !!!
If you didn't, no worries I have Attached Original Mixers as Backup (EXYNOS & SNAPDRAGON <-- snappy coming soon)...
first get ROOT :laugh: then proceed below
You can Use it with MAGISK
or
Flash it with TWRP, Snapdragon can use Flashfire (Snappy coming soon)
or
Just extract the MANUAL and place the mixers in your system/vendor/etc (since you chose Manual, make a backup, even though I put original mixers online) & set permissions to 644 (rw-r--r--) ...
reboot...
Let me know if you face any issues...
SNAPDRAGON MOD Status:
Not yet, not yet, maybe in a month or two ... or as soon I get the files, BOOM it will be here :victory:
EXYNOS Module Status: being tested
V1 - > Initial release, Tested & Stable...
VERY VERY VERY IMPORTANT NOTICE:
READ TO THE END...
This MOD shouldn't be used with any Equalizers, until it has been tested, even though I used MAX default values Available in the mixer, I don't want your brand new phone earpiece to be blown...
After installing the MOD, mute your phone, play a music, gradually increase the volume level till you reach the max, while doing that if you notice Any Noise/crackles/unclear sound from the earpiece, STOP increasing the volume, decrease it and report back please so I'd adjust the volume level...
Volume Adjust
(I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE):
SNAPDRAGON: to Adjust: (coming sooooooon :silly
EXYNOS: to Adjust in mixer_gains.xml:
Code:
<path name="gain-media-dual-speaker"> <!--Speaker, Stereo Dual-Channels-->
<ctl name="SPK Analog Left Gain" value="15dB" /><!--Speaker default for left channel-->
<ctl name="SPK Analog Right Gain" value="15dB" /><!--Speaker default for right channel, Earpiece-->
</path>
<path name="gain-media-headset"> <!--Headphones, Everything is default-->
<ctl name="HPOUT2L Impedance Volume" value="107" />
<ctl name="HPOUT2R Impedance Volume" value="107" />
<ctl name="HPOUT2L Input 1 Volume" value="32" />
<ctl name="HPOUT2R Input 1 Volume" value="32" />
</path>
Values for the speaker:
15dB is the default and from what it seems the earpiece should be as strong as the speaker to be able to have equal value, but I'd still say be cautious...
In many cases, the increase is safe up-to 6dB anything above that is Dangerous... 6 may look small but in terms of Sound, decibels are measured on a logarithmic scale..
say we have 10 dB and 18dB, the percentage from 18dB to 10dB would be about 83% sound decrease...
now back to the value, it looks so small, 15 dB is barely hearable, yes, but that's not the actual value but additional value...
in other words, 15dB+ to the current Volume...
Values for Headphones:
Gradually Change value="32" to whatever you desire upto 60, SAFEZONE is 45, if you hate yourself and ears, go above that :silly:...
as well value="107" upto 140, SAFEZONE is 120 as I said if you hate go up :silly:...
SAFEZONES are Approximated by me, So Gradually increase your volume to the max, make sure the sound is clean, don't set it to the max limit, some music are amplified by default, which playing them will damage the speakers, just be reasonable...
Don't Forget to say :good: THANKS :good:
Again I Say Please, your Feedbacks are important for futuristic updates to improve the MOD...

Hi, im a new owner of an Exynos S9 and i havent rooted/played with Magisk yet as im not quite sure yet if i want to loose Samsung Pay and the other one i cannot remember . Im coming form an S5 that i tinkered to hell and back with so atm im at a loss as to what i can actually do on my stock s9 to improve my experience. Ive installed Nicelock which is pretty neat but there must be afew other tweaks/edits to be done. If you have something that you've found particularly useful - please share it. My hope is to get a nice collage for stock users who dont want to root just yet.
Thanks!
1. rooting it will lose sammy pay, knox, warranty
2. i've been using lightrom, which is nicely debloated
3. nicelock(goodlock) is pretty much the most you could customize without root. multistar is the ultimate enhancement for me
4. there is a certain debloating list somewhere that could debloat safely without tripping knox, not sure if updated to pie
5. there is also speaker tweak to make the earpiece speaker louder

I can confirm that NiceLocks has some nifty stuff but most are not for me. One handed and multistar are the most useful id say. I found the debloating tutorials but these are not for Pie it seems, as i tried to remove bixby but it didn't do anything. Could anyone send a link for the speaker tweak?

sorry the speaker tweak isn't something official. I did it with my own edit to <mixer_gains.xml>.
You find the file in "/vendor/ect".
Inside you'll find something like
Code:
<mixer>
<!--
<ctl name="SPK Analog Left Gain" value="15dB" />
<ctl name="SPK Analog Right Gain" value="15dB" />
-->
<!-- Output volume stage -->
<!-- media playback volume -->
<path name="gain-media-handset">
<ctl name="Rcv Digital Gain" value="16" />
<ctl name="SPK Analog Left Gain" value="3dB" />
</path>
<path name="gain-media-speaker2">
<ctl name="Rcv Digital Gain" value="52" />
<ctl name="SPK Analog Left Gain" value="15dB" />
</path>
<path name="gain-factory-media-handset">
<ctl name="Rcv Digital Gain" value="16" />
<ctl name="SPK Analog Left Gain" value="3dB" />
</path>
<path name="gain-factory-media-speaker2">
<ctl name="Rcv Digital Gain" value="52" />
<ctl name="SPK Analog Left Gain" value="15dB" />
</path>
<path name="gain-media-speaker">
<ctl name="SPK Analog Right Gain" value="15dB" />
</path>
<path name="gain-media-dual-speaker">
<ctl name="SPK Analog Left Gain" value="15dB" />
<ctl name="SPK Analog Right Gain" value="15dB" />
</path>
Just change the numeric value to whatever is suitable to you. Increment the dB by 5 or risk blowing your speaker. BTW speaker2 means the earpiece.
Rmb to backup. Not sure you could do it without root.
