Hi all,
Last Moto device I had was a Moto X 2014. I remember being able to say "okay Moto X, take a selfie" and it would launch the front camera and start a timer to take a pic.
When trying the same command with the Z, it just launches the camera app, rear facing at that.
Is there any way to change the result of the voice command you give? Or is this just something that needs ironing out through a software update?
Thanks
Google kept breaking Moto voice with its updates to Google app so Moto just changed it so that Moto voice only triggers Google. The end result it a faster less buggy trigger. Its better overall but you do lose Moto's supplemental voice commands such as "Take a Selfie"

I've noticed if you snap a photo with LG Camera app and immediately press the back button or switch off the screen, the photograph is not going to be saved and you will loose it. You really need to wait until you see a preview of it in a circle on the right side.
And that time can be up to 2-3 seconds, which is really annoying.
Native google camera doesn't have this bug.
Has anyone else experienced such behavior?

No problem here...... Just tried it.
If I snap and immediately press the back button it quits the camera app but if I go back into the app the thumbnail of the shot is there.
So no, my G3 takes the shot and saves immediately.

That's why it takes a while.. HDRs don't render instantly and need some time to process. The reason it doesn't save when you back out is because it's still taking pictures.

So, I understand that, but why does it need to discard the photo if I close it too fast ? Can't it just schedule the processing in the background like Google camera does ?
With Google camera if it is in HDR mode and I switch off the screen immediately after taking a picture, the photo will still be saved.

I believe it's because the way HDR works is it takes multiple pictures at different exposures and puts them together so maybe the lg camera takes the pictures more slowly and you're quitting it while the shutter is still open?

What is the point of quitting camera app immediately after making a shot? I think you probably want something that is nonexistent. Shoot with your Google camera if you in so desperate need to quit camera app after each shot. What else to advice

Well, imagine this, you're taking a photo and suddenly got an email. Right after the picture is taken you switch to email app and the photo gets lost.

All kidding aside, I have not had this happen, but also have not tried to make it happen.
You guys saying a god damn NONSENSE.
I believe most of you have upgraded from inferior phones to G3, just because it has top-notch technical specs.
Now you're saying that I have to just idle 3 seconds after taking HDR photo.
This is a god damn NONSENSE.

NONSENCE is your BS, that you talking about. All other phones are unresponsive while taking HDR pictures. Because of simple fact that taking HDR requires he11 of lot of postprocessing. So why talk NONSENSE and demand G3 to make it instantly?

Okee first off your comment is rude and disrispectful, secondly if you don't want your photo's getting deleted deselect hdr, wait 2-3 seconds or contact LG/stock based rom developer to enable processing in the backround for hdr photos

As I said before, a google camera app doesn't have this problem. It produces hdr fine, even if you close the app immediately.
Obviously you gonna ask why am I not using it. I find that lg camera produces better results in HDR mode.
I usually don't reply to semi trolly post but I just took an HDR and instantly hit the back button and it doesn't save. (Of course) but I did the same thing and waited MAYBE a second maybe less and the photo finished processing and saved even though I backed out.
@op does the phone close when you take a picture or are you just intentionally hiring the back button that quickly on purpose? I literally had to try to NOT take a picture to keep it from processing. In just curious why someone would back out of taking a picture each time so fast. Well an HDR anyway

I presume that LG camera made that behaviour intended, programmers decided that if back or home buttons pressed immediately after pic is shot then use decided not to save picture so camera stops processing completely and doesn't save photo on memory. I think it is not problem it is a feature.

1. I do not talk nonsense especially when photography is the subject.
2. My previous phone was a Z2 which I would hardly call inferior.
3. If you wish to take a non standard photo then you also have to allow the processor time to complete it's action. As such 3 seconds (which by the way it is nothing like this on my G3) is adequate.
4. What gives you the right to insult any user. All that was given to you was an example of a waiting period prior to doing something else. In no way did that give you the right to be offensive.
return your phone and get a nexus

hello world ,
first of all I'm really happy with my moto 360, but one thing bothers me . It is the Heart rate moniture . I'm searching and looking around for a app That atomatically checks my heart rate every 5 minutes and uploads the data to google fit. but in the past two weeks I couldn't find anything...
I know that moto body does this but I deactivaded it because I use google fit and think moto body is worthless. I hope someone knows a way or I inspire someone to programm it (in that case I devenetly wanna be a alpha tester : o)
hope to hear soon of you!
I use the moto 360 on Android 5.0.1 and a sony xperia Z3 compact on 4.4.4
u rooted?
how u deactivated the stock moto body app?
I'm not rooted.
First of all when moto body is activated it check your heart every 5 min (so every 5 min it turns on the green led.) if you go to the moto body app and scroll to the settings menu than turn of all the notifications and than it is deactivated. You can check it by looking for 5 min at the heart rate monitor!

But does anyone now how to get it work for google fit?
(how can i move this treat to the android wear forum not the moto 360)
shoot, I cant even get heart beat to register when the 360 is set to check for it through googlefit.... if i change it to motobody then it returns results in the guage but never get a reading when set to google fit.
But is there a way to make a app or anything for this?

I tried this app for the same exact reason, however, you need to pay to get the features that you want. Also its a huge battery hog. Im really surprised that these features haven't been thoroughly implemented in Android Wear yet. Im really hoping that we can get the moto wellness tracker a backup and restore feature, as i enjoy flashing roms and requires a 360 reset which in turn, erases all moto data.
thanks, great app
*bump*
Since the App got deleted on the Play Store.. Is there any other way to get the Heart Rate from the 360 into Fit?
Ultimately i was thinking about doing it with AutoWear and Tasker to use the Rates also for other things, like checking if you still wear the Watch or combine the Rate with the Active Tasker Profile. Things like that...
I just did'nt found a way to insert data with Tasker into fit yet.

The app just got updated to 0.4 maby your bug is fixed
nah, i'm doing it with Tasker and AutoWear right now.. The only thing that still bothers me is that i can't turn off the screen while Fit is measuring the Heartrate (or at least turn it off, after he executed it) because &screenoff& somehow doesnt work. But at least he also sends the Rate back to Tasker, so that i could interact with it. And this way i can easily check if it is Working, which is the Problem with Clinche which did'nt got my heartrate for 4 hours without me noticing it.
But i still don't like the Fact that i need to use an App on the Watch
Can someone upload heart rate os apk, its no longer available on google store
Hello everybody.
We all know that Moto Display is very useful and shows incoming notification. In Moto G and E devices, it activates when the phone is moved from its position, or when a flip cover over the phone is opened. However I have heard that in Moto X devices, it activates even if you wave over the proximity sensor.
So I thought of making a small app that does the same. It is on Play Store.
MotoDisplay handwave
This might be helpful to some people like me. Do hit the Thanks button if it helped you.
Great app, and very useful!
Thanks. This works very well and hardly uses any battery (despite the warning).
Thanks, works perfectly. I found this on the play store first when looking for something that added this functionality. I ended up turning off the wave/hold to shut down screen because it locked the screen even though smart lock should have kept it unlocked.

You are welcome.
I have been pointed out that to programmatically lock the screen, one needs device administrator permission. But after locking the screen, smart lock doesn't work. So it is an Android limitation.

Yes, and your app did correctly ask for admin permission and did lock the screen correctly. I assumed that it was an Android issue as opposed to an issue with your app.

I had made a similar request, but someone told me that to make Moto Display work on custom ROMs, you would need to make a separate kernel.
Is it possible to wake up the screen without Moto display being active ? I don't like the "stock" moto display feature(moving the phone to activate).

You can disable Moto Display. But the phone won't be activated. I will add a feature to activate the lock screen of the phone in this app.
Thanks for the quick response !
Looking forward to this feature !

As I said, ask Google because that's not a feature in the Google photo app. If you want to edit blur intensity get a Samsung or LG phone.
It used to be in the previous pixel, why removing it?
Recently I saw this AR thing made by Google. I was curious to see how it worked and I installed the Motion Stills app, which supposedly allows "every mobile phone with gyroscope" to use augmented reality -or "AR stickers" as they call it-. However, when I entered the app, it didnt show the "AR mode" :crying: , which is where you can use those stickers. I freaked out because its obvious that the Moto G5 has gyroscope, as the 360º video in Youtube and other related apps works perfectly. Does someone knows which could be the problem or if there is any solution/ port/ another way to try it? :fingers-crossed: Thanks
may it be the lack of compass in the g5? some AR apps requires gyroscope+compass.... just guessing.
