Apps not showing up on new Fire TV stick. - Fire TV Themes and Apps
Scratching my head with something. I've currently got 2 Fire TV 1's and a 1st Gen Fire TV stick. All have geo restricted apps on them including the official Amazon BBC iPlayer. I recently purchased the 2nd Gen Fire TV stick and for some reason both the BBC iPlayer and Starz and Encore Play won't show up in the Amazon cloud to transfer it to the device, even though they've been purchased and like I said both apps are on the other three Fire TV devices. When I go to manage devices, it says that all 3 apps are incompatible with the Fire TV stick, yet the 1st Gen has both the BBC iPlayer and Starz Play. I've had no other problem with other U.K apps ( Itv hub, channel 4, channel 5 ) ready to download as soon as I signed into my Amazon account, but the iplayer is nowhere to be seen, nor can I transfer it from my Amazon account. I've sideloaded a keyboard version of the iplayer, but it's just not as efficient.
Just wondering if anyone else has come across this problem. The iPlayer app being geo-restricted, I get, but can someone explain to me why Starz or Encore play app doesn't even show up on the U.S app content when you do a search on the Fire TV for them, yet both apps are on my current Fire TV boxes and stick. When you do a search for Starz play, it goes to the paid content or asks you to sign up for a free 7 day trial. Since I'm just looking for to install the app on the Fire TV stick 2, why isn't it even on there. HBOgo and Showtime anytime are on there, so why no Starz or encore play?
Yes
I'm having this problem as well. Sometimes, they show up a few days later.
No clue what may be causing this.
Also, I have found that I can launch the missing apps from the Settings - Apps - Manage menu.

[Q] Using Kindle Fire as Apple TV 2
I've noticed someone selling their kindle fire HD with the following description: I am selling a specific version of Kindle Fire 2 that is running the latest OS Jelly Bean Android 4.1.1. Just connect it to WiFi and this tablet works like an Apple TV 2. JUST CONNECT IT TO THE WIFI AND YOU CAN WATCH FREELY: XBMC, IceFilms, Chinese & Korean movies with English subtitle, VN TV channels, Mexican movie channels, adult channels, sport channels, 1Channel (Movies and TV Shows), Pandora Radio, TubePlus, TVLinks, ProjectFreeTV Free Cable - watch CBS, NBC, ABC, FX, Hulu, TMZ, Yahoo Music Videos, Navi-X - ESPN, tons of LiveTV, HBO 1&2, CineMax, Crackle movies and lots of more ... No hidden cost and it is 100% FREE! FREE! I have been looking everywhere for which app to download or how to install these channels onto a kindle fire. I am hoping that someone can point me in the right direction. Thanks in advance!
The description has fraud written all over it. First off, the Kindle Fire HD runs 4.0 not 4.1 and there are no custom ROMs currently available. Second off, I highly doubt there is a app that can access that much TV media. Maybe there is BUT, its probably not legal, at least within the United States. Sent from my Kindle Fire
[Q] Netflix & HBOGO apps & Chromecast on amazon fire phone
Anybody have an older version of Netflix or HBOGO that is still functional? Or other tricks/hacks? I sideloaded from the google play store Netflix and HBOGO and there must be some detection built in that disables the stream to chromecast icon on amazon fire phones (can't imagine why, oh yeah maybe it's because they have a competing hdmi streaming stick product) I've read on other support forums that people have tried the same build netflix .apk on regular android devices and the chromecast streaming works fine, but is disabled when the same .apk is loaded on the amazon fire phone. Also, prior to around April 2014 it seems chromecast features DID work in Netflix/HBOgo apps on the fire phone. Which definitely smells like dirty pool to me. thanks in advance...
2nd gen fire tv store stopped working.
I seem to be having an issue with the store on my new fire tv 4k box.. It is doing that issue that was goingon with the older boxes where the apps section would just show a large grid of all the apps instead of the fire tv app standard menu. Also the store will not work I cannot download new apps the voice commands will not search for anything.. how do I fix this without restoring the box?
Directv for Fire Tablet ( 2nd Gen Fire TV Stick) Keep Crashing
Hi, I had sideloaded Directv for tablet app onto my 2nd gen Fire TV Stick running latest version and successfully login to my account. However, the app is keep crashed randomly every time I run the app. it is a matter of time, sometime it crash during navigation within the app, sometime during streaming LiveTV. Anybody had same problem with me? Please let me know how to get rid of it. Is it crashed because of Fire TV stick have lower spec than Fire TV so that it can't handle Directv app? Does Fire TV handled it well?

Locast - Free local streaming TV - Help get it to work on Fire TV
Remember Aereo? It offered streaming over-the-air TV service. The TV networks sued and Aereo lost 5-4. They soon went out of business. Not there's a not-for-profit (i.e., FREE) version of this: Locast. It works great on my PC and Android device. I sideloaded the apk on my Fire TV. The interface is smart enough to work with the Fire TV remote, but the streams will not play. I'm not sure why. Maybe it needs to verify location and can't? There are no errors displayed. It would be great to get this working. I have a rooted Fire TV 1, so I can try installing apps to (maybe) spoof location info. If anyone has advice, please let me know.
Locast released their app for the Fire TV officially. Thread closed.
