This started recently. Probably a recent Facebook app update, but is this happening to anyone else? No matter how many times I look at my notifications and tap on them, they never go away. So every time I get another notification it just adds to the total and the number resets. I'm on OOS 3.2.7 with EX Kernel. What's weird is I tried the same version of the Facebook app on 7.0-based AICP and had no such issue. I also tried clearing my Facebook app data a couple of times but that made no difference.

I'm not getting notifications in my notification bar. I have those turned off. This is notifications within the app. Should have specified that, sorry.
Go to Facebook on pc. Open notifications. Click on mark as read. Do it as far as it can scroll. That should clear one old unread notification.

Does anyone get facebook notifications i have not had any yet on my GN or does anykne know how to fix it?
Heck yes I get facebook notifications.. and they don't clear! I get a fb notification in my notification bar, click on it and go to the facebook app, and it's the same notification I got the last 3 times.
I click on the notification and view it close the bf app out and a little while later I get another fb notification in my notification bar. Check it again.. same thing.
quite irritating... don't know how to fix it
Funny thing is I get notifications, but I can't actually view them. When I click on the notification, it doesn't load the app or anything. It just sits there as if I cleared it.
Also, OP look at this link to fix your notification problems: http://www.androidnz.net/2011/11/how-to-enable-push-notifications-in.html
I'm assuming you meant the push notifications.
Since we've been using our P6 we keep getting a notification that Whatsapp is currently a "power intensive" app. After clicking on the notification it takes me to the "Bkgd power-intensive apps" screen under the "power manager" menu where we can see Whatsapp at the top of the list with a red battery next to it, and "power intensive" under it. It's suggesting we close the app, so we do. Obviously Whatsapp needs to be running to receive messages so the service restarts. A bit later we get the notification again. If we disable Whatsapp from running in the background we don't receive any Whatsapp messages so it has to be left to run in the background. Does anyone know how to disable this notification, or has anyone else had this issue...!?
I've seen an ignore sign somewhere...

Yes I looked for 'ignore' but there wasn't one. I've seen 'ignore' on other notifications but not this one. Just waiting for it to pop up again, maybe take a screenshot.,,

What I did to stop the "power intensive" notification pupping every time is that; After entering >Power Manager >Background apps Manager > Just slide the "All" switch to the left to turn of all applications. Since then i have not receive the notification. I don't know if my apps have all stop working in the background but after a while i will confirm that.

Are Facebook posts not showing up on wear yet. Wear only shows me that I have a new post/notification but I can't actually see what it is without opening the app on the phone.
Facebook needs to add wear support

Fail
I get notifications on my watch, just can't read the actual post. Also, I've noticed FB notifications are the only ones that don't vibrate for me.

Do you have "Vibrate" turned on for your phone in the Facebook App Settings?
I get vibrate notifications on my watch, but I also have vibrate turned on in the App settings. Maybe toggle that and see if that fixes it.
However, like the OP, I only get who sent the Facebook Post, not the text of the update. This is a Facebook limitation, not a Wear limitation. They have to add the support.
A company a big and supposedly "forward thinking" a Facebook would have had these features from the beginning

It looks like I didn't have it set to vibrate in the app itself. I thought that any notification sent to the watch would cause it to vibrate. Thanks for the heads up.

I'm not sure if this is a feature or a hindrance yet, to be honest. I do like the option of having some notifications on the watch without vibration, but I'm not sure if the best place for that option to be is in the settings for each individual app. Can be a bit cumbersome to work out, but I should only be setting it up once, in theory.
Hi.
Have searched around a while for this now, but cant find a answer.
I have a stock HTC one m8, and i cannot seem to get notification on Instagram to work. I have tried facroty reset, cache delete, re-installing the instagram app and so on, but nothing is working. This is getting pretty annoying.
Anyone here who has experienced the same issue? Or better, know a way to fix this?
Thanks in advance.
There's a notification setting inside the Instagram app, and also have you tried to long press the app and drag it into the "info" spot, and make sure notifications are checked in the system. Other than that there's no reason it shouldn't show as long as you receive other notifications.

How do you turn off Flipboard notifications? I'm tired of this app spamming me every day, I've tried going into the app going to profile, hitting the settings icon and then going to Push Notifications and unchecking all of the boxes but its still sending me the notifications!
Thanks.
Block it with debloater
Goto tablet settings, apps, find flipboard and turn off notifications, simple ☺

That's the problem, I use it daily, just hate the notifications. I have everything unchecked in settings and still they notify me. Ugh.
If the app is running in background you still get notifications, even with it disabled in settings, only way to stop it is to open recent apps and clear flipboard once youve stopped using it, this seems to happen with alot of apps, i get the same thing with news republic app

Android allowing notifications
The Blocking Mode on Galaxy devices lets you disable the entire notifications on your device, But how to disable notifications on Android for selected apps? follow the instruction to specify which application is allowed to show notifications on the status bar:
1. Open Settings and go to Application Manager (or Apps on some devices)
2. Now you should see the list of installed applications on your device
3. Tap the application you would like to disable notifications
4. Make sure "Show Notifications" is not checked
androidwidgetcenter.com/android-tips/how-to-disable-notifications-on-android-for-selected-apps/
I also cleared data and signed out - some who still use FB may not want to go this far.
I'm so proud of myself. Some months ago, I started searching the Internet to find out how to end those annoying Flipboard notifications. Today, I was out searching, again. Somehow, I accidentally discovered the answer. And you'll flip when you read my solution! (Definitely, no pun intended. )
To disable Flipboard:
1. Go to your notifications.
2. Find a recent Flipboard notification item and touch and hold the notification item.
This action should take you directly to the app's notifications settings. At the very top is the option to disable Flipboard's notifications.
This worked in my Sansung Galaxy S7, but I see no reason it shouldn't work for other devices/users who are disgusted with the annoyance.
