Hi there!
I created this post because I can't reply to the thread of the ROM I'm using (CM 13 by @nels83) because I can't create 10 helpful post as a simple XDA user.
So! I'm experiencing a strange bug (I don't know if it's a software or hardware bug).
When I plug out and plug the recharging cable in (Stock Samsung charger and charging cable), the tablet doesn't charge when it is on, but when I shut it down/reboot it, it will charge again.
I tried with another charger and it wasn't working too. Oh, and I got this tablet for 3 years now.
Sorry for my crappy english and thanks in advance!
Found the problem:
Flex cable is dead.

Hi all,
hope someone can help.
I have posted this in the Atom forum , but no answer, so thought i would try here, it could be a general issue.
I have :
O2 Atom.
rom: Current WM6 exec
did have WM5 , then upgraded to exec rom.
Problem:
For the last 6-8 months I have had problems charging the battery,
it has been the same over the last 3 different ROMS so I feel its Hardware not software , could be wrong.
When plugged in you have to wiggle the mini usb connection , to get a constant red LED.
I have tried many different chargers, and no different .
(note :Motorola are really the only ones which will work well)
Sometimes it works sometimes it doesn't.
I have replaced 3 batteries , and that is not the problem .
Now it seems I cannot get my new one to charge at all, can get phone running if plugged into the charger, but on disconnect it has no charge and lasts aprox 30 secs.
Any ideas ??
is my trusty Atom at the end of its life, or can it be fixed ?
thanks in advance ,
Andrew.

It's not a software problem, any Rom wm5 or wm6 has got nothing to do with it,ok,
It's either your USB plug connector of your charger or Mini usb port connector of your phone problem. One of them is creating this problem by not getting a proper connection between the PINS.there are five connectors in the mini usb port of your phone and the usb plug connector, below is the layout of these five connectors:-
1 <-----(Vcc)-----> 1
2 <-----(D-)------> 2
3 <-----(D+)------> 3
4 <--+ (ID) > 4
|
5 <--+--(GND)-----> 5
It's No.1 (Vcc),which supplies and charge the phone.
One of the connectors,it may be of mini usb port of your phone or usb plug of the charger, which is not getting a firm connection, that's whu you have to wiggle a bit to get it started.check out which makes a loose connection
To get it working,if it's the usb plug of the charger, get it replaced with a compatible charger, but if it's the usb mini port of the phone, than I'm afraid you'll have to get it repaired or changed.good luck

must be the mini usb connection in the phone ,

will have to find some ware to fix it , or it's an excuse to upgrade ..
Hello,
I have a Samsung Galaxy Tab S 10.5 Wifi with the following things:
- stock rom
- root
- twrp recovery
- skyhigh tw kernel
Before going to bed, my tab was at 7% charge and I put it on charge.
The next morning, I got my tab and was unable to power on...
I unplug then plug again the charger without any reaction from the tab... no sound, no vibration, no green battery saying "Hey I'm charging..."
I sent my tab at my local official repair center (I'm in France) and they refuse to repair it because of "It's rooted man" !
How can they say it is rooted without powering on ?
How root the tab disable charging it ?
How can I gain right and force then to repair my defect tab ?
In Europe, any soft modification disable soft warranty but say that hardware waranty is still available !
And if defect happen in first 6 month then the defect must be there since origin.
I'm not sure if my english is good enouth to be clear... But I really need help
PS: I have a thread about this on a french forum...
Maybe the cable is bad or maybe the charger is bad. Those are the first things I would look at. The Tab S will charge on a computer's USB port. So use the USB cable it came with and connect it to the computer while the computer is on of course. If the battery is totally discharged it may take some time for it to reach a level of charge to display the charging indicator, so leave it hooked up for about an hour then check it. If it charges on a USB port then the cable is OK. If it doesn't, try a different cable on the USB port.

Maybe I forgot to say that:
- the charger is ok (tested on my S4)
- plug on usb computer don't even woke up the tab
- I left my tab charging for a night with my working charger
- I tried my S4 charger with same result
Thanks for your replay but, I already tried all these steps...
Now this is between me and Samsung Customer Services...
(and this is bad because I really like Samsung, S4 and my new TabS... kind of rocking tablet)
Have a look at this thread.

I just read it... I tried to let it charge but I cannot charge anymore... You can...
You can resetting battery stats and see if it change something... I could not because I even can power it on :'(
I hope you will solve your problem just by clearing battery stats !!!
Connect your tab at your pc and leave it there for more than 30 minutes...then for me battery starts charging...
Hi everyone!
When I connect my phone to the charger, it doesn't always start to charge the battery. Only about every 10th time it succeeds.
I tried 3 differnd usb cables, all original sony. It's the same with all of them.
I tried to move the cable in the phone, but it's stable. Also if it charges, I can't stopnit by moving the cable.
For me it looks like a software error, as if the phone doesn't allow to charge.
Does anyone have the same problems?
Any idea how to solve this (in best case without wiping the phone)?
Thank you in advance!
This is a recent problem or have you always had it? You think it's software so does it do it with different roms, or have you tried? I read somewhere the usb port on the phone becomes faulty easily, this seems more your cause, if your certain it's not the cable.
Not Charging as Well
My ZL is not charging as well i plug the AC charger and it gets bootloop.
It stop bootlooping after 1 hour and show the charging icon, but it does not charge.
Do you guys think it is the baterry or some issue with the power management.
I tryed to Charge the baterry with and old Universal Battery charger it hold a little power.
The Cell works when i turn it on with the wall charger but show only 1% of battery
Please guys help me with that.

I don't think it's a hardware problem. I used 3 different cables, all original sony. Sometimes they work, sometimes not. I'm using USB otg a lot (got my videos and some mp3 on a stick), never had problems with usb connection.
I didn't have those problems for a long time, but I don't remember any special apps I installed in the last few weeks.
Didn't try any custom roms yet, I'm very satisfied with my current setup (except for the charging problem ). I'm using latest stock with google crap and bloatware uninstalled.
Hopefully the lollipop update is coming soon. If it's not too buggy I will give it a try.
Hi all.
i bought a lenovo K8 note and also it was working perfectly and now i have a problem in charging.
its already providing a turbo charger with this device. since before two day i connect OTG on my phone and after that when i connect charger all are showing charging over USB and its deadly slow to charge my device. it takes almost 9 to 12 hour for 0% to 100%,
i tried changed cable with new 2.4A fast cable. try with USB 3.0 Ports, Try With Wall mount Chargers 2.0 AMPS, 3.5Amps etc.
I reset the device and also i am flashed my rom with 7.1.1 (Stock ROM). nothing was helpful. still now my device showing Charging over USB while charge with any charger on battery screen. deadly slow to charge up device (almost 12 hour need to full the battery before it was 3 hour maximum time)
So anybody have the same issue. I hope our teams got a solution for this

Been having this same issue myself, I'm too lazy to visit the service centre though, try visiting it maybe?
I am unlocked my bootloader so is that will cause loss warranty ?

I am having the same issue
I was try to change the all are like charger, cable, etc. But nothing was helpful. Basically i am a electronics tech. So I just bypass the charging Lines directly to battery with a suport of and diode.
After that it was much better (but can't see the percentage while charging)
Now I sell the product to some shop..
Now happy with asus zenphone max pro m1
In my finding i got a Final report.
It's battery response issue..
The battery have turbo identifier inside. T+ t- mark ups. (I removed back cover and checked all)
You can see the turbo controller in battery.
Maybe if you are in warranty quickly visit services center and ask for battery replacement.
Have a good time ahead.
Admins This thread is now resolved my self. So please close this with my solution.
Thanks.

I am also facing the same problem
Cable replaced but not solved.
"Charging slowly". Massage on screen.
Since there was a problem with the cable provided with the original dash charger, I had been charging my phone with a random cable and original adapter for a long time (of course without the dash charging).
I should point out that I am not in a country that can access any official oneplus service. Earlier this week, I saw the original cable being put up for sale through a site and ordered it. Cable has arrived today and I had the opportunity to test it. When I used the incoming cable and the original adapter together, it started to charge the phone with the dash charger as quickly as when I first bought it. (I really missed the dash charge)
Anyway, I saw that the phone remained at 75% during this charging. Of course, first I thought it was from the cable I just bought. But then I checked and saw that this is now same with the random cable I have been using for a long time. (yesterday this cable was normal lol)
Currently I cannot charge my phone above 75%. After doing some research on the internet, I found other posts describing this problem, but I did not see a clear solution.
I don't know if it has anything to do with the issue, but I would like to state that I use the Derpfest 11 rom.
same issue with you.
go back to stock rom will solve it I suppose.
or..charge it via normal input 5v/2A, it will keep charging to 100%.
of course it is ok to use normal input from very beginning, but slow charging LT is not that happy then.
I suppose it is a universal issue in custom roms..
the "charging protocol configuration" need to be investigated by developers..
