I recently won a m8 in a contest. And through lots of searching I'm stuck, I live in the UK and my phone is from the US. I want to know if my phone has the right hardware to get lte on bands 3 and 7 as I'm on ee. But I cannot find out anywhere what hardware is inside the device, any suggestions? Thanks.
Check the preferred network (in settings) if you can enable lte connectivity.

LTE Bands
Hi!! a have the HTC OneĀ® Developer Edition (M8) and this supports the followings Bands in LTE: LTE Quad Band (Bands 17/4/2/5).
Check the exact model of your M8, with this tool: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.tritonsoft.cidgetter&hl=es-419
Cid code is needed to find your exact model and get the description of networks supporting.

Any carrier branding (Verizon, Sprint, AT&T, T-Mobile) on the outside of the phone or on the OS (splash screen, etc.)? Mosts US M8s are branded, aside from Dev Edition, unlocked, or GPE.
As long as its a GSM M8 (Verizon and Sprint are CDMA/GSM) in theory you should be able to flash a different radio to get the proper band compatibility, even if your model doesn't officially support the needed LTE band (unlocking of bootloader and S-off required).
I've been reading in a lot of threads about changing radios and versions, and unlocking bands. NO ONE with SUCCESS, for example:

So, if someone could give me an advice. My carrier in Mexico works on AWS LTE BAND 4.
Do i have any chance to get LTE with this phone?
Hello guys
i got the OP3 A3000. i got mine from the official website and its the American version.
ilive in Israel, and there for my device wont have a LTE band #3 like the European versions come with.
my question is, if ill install a Euro rom..would it include the missing LTE band?
* is the anyway other way to pass this issue or installing the missing band ?
thanks in advance.
Eli
Nope. The bands are defined outside of the rom, I'd assume in the modem configuration.

is there anyway that i can install or activate that band on my phone ?
Unless you have the encryption keys to program the baseband...
There's a thread here where people have been trying to change bands without success.
My friend you should check if the phone has the band you need before you buy the phone.
A3000 model it's also for China region.
tl;dr - bands can't be changed

I have an unlocked K10/ATT model that I was attempting to use overseas in Japan on docomo network needs one of (LTE band 1,19,21).
After checking online at some sites I have seen mixed reports if the phone supports LTE band 1 2100mhz.
The phone does not connect to carrier and the manuals for ATT version look like band 1 is not supported.
Im wondering if the hardware itself actually supports band 1 and if there is any way via firmware update or secret menu to enable it.
Appreciate any related info.

Hi everyone. Im wondering if this is possible for pixel 6 pro. Basically my unit is direct from us store which is G8VOU. Now im using it in Malaysia and 4g lte works fine.
Now im wondering if carrier aggregation is possible through root. Right now from what see through netmonster it can do 2ca on the same band(check screenshot). I think its aggregating two towers with the same band, i may be wrong though.
Anyone had any idea how to force enable multi band ca? The local sold phone can go up to 5ca which are mainly band 1, 3, 7 ,8. Thanks in advance.
I would also like to know
Is it not 4G+ an indication of currently using carrier aggregation?
Try to download NPerf app and click on speed test button. It will detect your carrier and mention it's currently on 4G+ or LTE-A
Another proof is below when you check in *#*#4636#*#* . Currently my Yoodo is on band 7 and band 3.
And Digi Malaysia only have 1 band which is Band 7
Digi - Malaysia - Wireless Frequency Bands and Device Compatibility
Digi (Malaysia) uses 2 GSM bands, 1 UMTS band, and 1 LTE band. Find out if your unlocked phone or mobile device will work with Digi (Malaysia)

I sometimes have band 3 and 8 as well. Just never 3 or 4ca at a time. Only up to 2ca max.
The modem decides aggregation.
