[REQ] Coolpad Porto S update.zip - Upgrading, Modifying and Unlocking

Hello guys. I dont know is this place is good to post that thing, but i really need update.zip file for my Coolpad Porto S. I can't find anywhere. My device stucked in setup wizard, when i made factory reset. Now it says checking connection, it may take a while. But nothing happening. I need stock android to reflash it. Anyone??

Anyone???

Or maybe someone have backup of it?

I have Coolpad Porto S which is working. What exactly do you need? If I can I will upload it somewhere.

Hey bro. If you can, i need backup to flash via SpFlashTool. It would be great if you share it with me. Or maybe if you can, upload backup via recovery/

I've tried but no luck with finding Scatter file + files to be flashed and without that can't do backup?
Please make a zip or rar of all drivers and software needed and I'll do a backup. I can't spend 2hrs looking for what to install and how.
My Porto S is rooted with kingroot and I couldn't find any custom recovery for it or anything custom made.

Oh well

I still got this firmware on my phone. Didn't do anything with it yet. So if anyone could tell me how to take this rom from my phone I could upload it...
PDA: I9000XXJF3
PHONE: I9000XXJF3
CSC:I9000XENJF1
My mate has also still this stock rom on his galaxy, but i dont know how to get the rom out of his phone.
At the moment it seems that there is no way to get back to the stock rom. I hope my phone won´t get an Hardware error cause there is no warranty atm with this "unofficial" rom

Hi
Do you still have the stock rom or you flashed already???
in case you still have it, can you back it up for me?? you can do that by using clockworkrecovery. its completely safe. You can download the attached zip file, rename it to update.zip and put it on the root of your phone internal memory, turn the phone off. then hold down the volume up+home button+on simultaneously. keep them pressed until you get into the recovery mode.
choose apply sdcard:update.zip and press home buttonv(you can change selection using vol up down)
that will start the recovery tool, using vol down navigate to the option (nandroid) and then click the power button once then chose the option (backup) and click power button once more. The phone will automatically start the backup procedure. after it finishes the backup choose the option (reboot system now)
The stock Rom backup will now be found in a folder in your internal memory in the following path(/sdcard/clockwormod/backup/2010-xx-xx.xx.xx.xx) the Xs replace the date and time. inside this folder you'll find 5 files. These files are your back up of the stock rom and you can share these with us.
incase you want to flash the backup back into your phone you can use the same procedure but this time choose restore rather than back up.
Ifyou managed to back it up please let me know as i was so stupid to flash a cooked rom thinking i can easily get the original rom.
Thx
What about the personal data ?
Is it that the personal data is included in the dumped rom? Do you only need the system file ?
Actually I 'd be anxious about my personal information.
I propose to sticky a thread dedicated to nandroid stock as well as rooted backups.
Does anyone want DDJF3?
I have a complete nandroid of DDJF3.

Well, regarding personal data i must say i have no idea, but as long as it is a 1:1 copy i assume everything is backed up. So if you are going to back up your ROM to share with others here is what you need to do before doing th backup:
1- delete your google account (as well as deleting your emails from mail application)
2- wipe your history and passwords from the internet browser
3- move the sms(s) to either sim or SD card (or internal memory)
4- move contacts to (internal memory or SD card) and delete them from the phone.
5- whatever is on the internal memory won't be backed up so no worries about it.
hope it helps
Ok, I managed to dump a clean i9000xxjf3 stock rom. First I did a backup of my system, then I reset my phone to stock rom settings, then dumped the rom.
I am glad restoring my original system worked perfectly.
Now, how can I provide this rom to the community ? Best upload way ? It's about 290 mb.
If you are still intetested, write back.
Cheers.
P.s. What a great backup/restore program.
samsung-firmware.webs.com/samsungi9000.htm
might help

Hi Mpayne. Thats great news buddy glad it worked for you. and indeed this tool is a life saver, no need to root or anything so in case you care about warranty this is a must.
i am still interested in the the dumped rom, i am not sure what is the best upload options i am guessing www.4shared.com will be nice (you can try to zip it first).
thx in advance

Guys im very frustrated, simple answers will save me

Hi all,
Im an experienced WM developer and switching to Android as a user,
I Got I9003 and working very fine with me, my device is Arabic enabled,
I have flashed my mobile more than 10 times( using I9003JPKE1_OJPKC2_JXKA4 and Odin) because of trying to get Vanilla Unlock and the nice theme here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1112991&page=8
my Questions are:
1.what is the best backup software that restore everything and settings by itself(astro Sux)
2.how to get the ClockWorkMod for my device instead of the stupid glass lock, I followed the instructions
and my device stuck on the samsung screen and keep restarting(what should I do in this case? i tried everything just flashing works and :S)
3. what to do exactly to get theme Ultimate-Bule-tripin in my version?
4. what else i should know
my device info:
2.2.1
kernel [email protected] #1
build: FROYO.JPKE1
Baseband:I9003JXKA4
thanks all in advance.
1. Titanium Backup
Others i dont know If CF-Root doesnt work, no idea (=
thanks man, will the free version do it for me or must be pro?
The Titanium free version hasn't mega-useful Batch operations. So if you have many apps to backup, it'll be incredible long story to backup them one-by-one on free version. So, get Full version, or try MyBackup Pro app, or use a nandroid backup using ClockWorkMod. Btw, CWM isn't a replacement for lockscreen, it's recovery mode mod allowing to do some useful operations (such as backup, wipe caches e.g. etc.)
Or you can use Google and get the full version, i'm not sure if i can give you any link, so i wont, but if you know how to use google you can find it without a problem
Hint: mobilism

#2 question...download ROM manager and select flash clockwork recovery, then it should give you an option to choose your device. Download CWMod for your phone. You should now have latest clockwork.
Sent from my HERO200 using XDA App
my Questions are:
1.what is the best backup software that restore everything and settings by itself(astro Sux).
Ans: I think Titanium Backup will do the work most. Recommend that only restore APK without data as you may face force close in some apps. Beware that it does not backup APN setting. Please use APN Back&Restore in case APN is total wipe out. U can use CWM backup through recovery mode and restore. Beware sometime CWM can get corrupted and data restore will have some force close after reboot
2.how to get the ClockWorkMod for my device instead of the stupid glass lock, I followed the instructions
and my device stuck on the samsung screen and keep restarting(what should I do in this case? i tried everything just flashing works and :S)
Ans: Glass lock has nothing to do with CWM. It is the laucher bug issue. Sometime is best to install 2 or more laucher in your rom. Just flash another laucher through ODIN will work.
3. what to do exactly to get theme Ultimate-Bule-tripin in my version?
Ans: Feedback the bug you are having to the theme developer. They should know how to fix it. Is thier duty to provide solution.
4. what else i should know
Ans: You may find that not all products suite you and not all product developed is perfect. Keep flashing for the right one, learn from mistake, pick-up the error and google your problem for solution. Standby your spare phone in case your phone is totally knock down and cannot be restart.
cheer
As a very good FREE backup tool I'm using My Backup Root (from the market). You need to have your phone rooted but it works very nice.
Thanks a lot guys, you helped me well, I mentioned the CWM because to install the update.zip which requires CWM to install because of the signature, I flashed the CWM several times with different versions but same results on startup I really like the Ultimate-Bule-tripin with the vanilla lock and i'll sell the phone if i couldnt get it

I have read the thread,
1) Did you meet the requirement??
Requirements:
-XXKB3 FW
-Deodexed framework is mandatory
2) Have you try install zip from sd card with CWM recovery? CWM provide install zip from sd card, you can explore where have you save the file and execute it. You does not need to rename the file to update.zip.
the problem is i cant install the CWM to my device, every time i install it via odin the device does not start and then i have to flash it, how can i find a version compatible with my device firmware ver?
my device info are :2.2.1
kernel [email protected] #1
build: FROYO.JPKE1
Baseband:I9003JXKA4
so which FW i am????
and i cant see any KB3( btw pleaaaaase tell me which section must have this code????)
Please provide the link to flash CWM for your I9003. I need to look at it.
Update: CWM only work for I9000, there are developer trying to get CWM working on the I9003 device.
I guess whithin 2-3 week time, CWM should be available for your device.

here it is:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1120301
thanks in forward, your help appreciated
can u please tell me which FW i have? and which section is supposed to have KB3(KBX)????
ps:my device must have Arabic lang.
You are having the latest ASIAN Froyo Firmware. Your device should be compatible.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1004647.
CWM does not work for your device for now. To solve your problem, try to download Root Explorer Pro version from market (Need to buy). Then you can copy the downloaded theme file into your system.
By the way, i'm from SGS I9000 device. Not from I9003. There might be some different to replace file directory.
Good Luck.
Thank Button, please.
can u please just give me the brief steps to install the theme using the root explorer?
does it need more than rooted device or must be deodexed??
btw i always thank but now it gives me
Sorry, you are limited to five thanks per day
Thanks man, i got it done, i have deodexed my I9003 from this Thread
and then managed to copy the vanilla lock apks via ADB shell, now i can use my Android

Updating to latest rom.

Hi all!
Sorry for posting a new thread about this, but I'm really confused about what should I do.
I'm currently on P6-U06V100R001C00B111 - rooted, and I would like to use KitKat stock or custom, doesn't matter. Can I just put ROM files on SD and go on "Local update" in settings? Or do I have to install ADB and fastboot as described here
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

First of all, wrong forum..
Second I belive there are many ways of doin this update.
This is what I did:
1. Placed the update.app on a Sdcard and did a locale-update by going into settings
2. The phone will reboot and the update will start.
3. You are know on KK, but you will not have a working PlayStore since the old one is for JB.
Basicly this is what u need to do to be on KK, but if you want Playstore etc you have to install TWRP and flash gapps, and if I remember right you need to flash TWRP via fastboot.
I wanted a clean install so after I had installed TWRP I did a factory reset and wiped the internal memory and installed KK (.zip-file) and Gapps via TWRP from my Sdcard.
This is how I did and maybe someone else can tell u a better way to do it.
Can anyone post the link for what rom can i flash?

[Q] recovery problem

I want to return to stock m8. I have the twrp back up and followed instructions putting it in to folder twrp-backup but when i boot into recovery the file folder isnt visable in the restore section. I can find the folder in the install section but without any executable files in. Im really stuck bin at this for hours. I followed the youtube video to the letter combining with the written instruction and cant understand where im going wrong. If it helps im on three uk. Any help would really be appriciated
Make sure the extracted backup folder is placed at TWRP/BACKUPS/YourDeviceSerialNo/FOLDER here
thanks for the quick reply, however the problem persists.
nothing is showing up in restore. when i rooted the handset i didnt install a custom rom just the custom recovery. now following the instructions for unroot i have to install a stock rom?? the version main on my m8 is 1.54.771.9 but the version of the stock im trying to install is 1.54.771.5 for three uk. i dont know if its because i have a stock rom onboard and the new one is an earlier version. if i dindnt install a custom rom why do i need to install a stock for unroot? cant i unroot using superuser then flash stock recovery then relock bootloader?
sorry its turned into a Q and A but i really dont understand
Can you make a backup with the TWRP recovery that you have now, only backup the boot.img. Then check in restore whether you can see it, if yes that's the place to put your full backup
From where that you got the 1.54.771.5 backup ? If it is from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2701376
this backup is for Philz recovery.
Oh yes your right but i was mistaken iv actually downloaded the twrp above it as its the only twrp avail for my cid this is the recovery iv tried but no luck. I will google how to make a back up of the twrp im running and give it a try. Is there no set default location the restore option would be looking for the recovery? Also in the stock rom i downloaded there are 9 entries inside but on the video tutorial his has more. xda is the only repo for these stock roms i can find so if its not a complete img then what do i do?
The location is as I mentioned above for TWRP.
I have no idea what video you're talking about.
I've seen many follow links outside of XDA but when they have problem, they come here .. I don't know why they can't get help from those outside links.
About the content of a TWRP backup, usually is 9 when there is no md5 created. In my nandroid backups that uploaded, there are only 8 files because I remove the recovery.log too.
And CWM or Philz recovery have about 14 or more

Just google for outside links if you can find one that are not linked back to XDA.
For me, what we have on XDA is good enough.

soft brick i think

So I was getting tired of the rom I was on and decided to switch. I am using the BUMP'd twrp by the way. I did something really stupid. I restored the stock rooted rom while searching. Apparently it auto updated. I can now no longer get past twrp recovery no matter what i do, restore, reinstall, wipe everthing. If someone can link me to a guide using adb to flash a stock iso or something? Please help this is my everyday device.
Rule one to flashing: never flash without a backup. It sounds like something went wrong but if you can actually get into TWRP you should be able to flash either an older backup (easiest) or wipe and reinstall your current ROM. If youre wanting to go to marshmallow anyway (And as someone that has used their G3 from Jellybean all the way through to marshmallow, I cant recommend it enough), see here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g3/development/stock-d855-30b-images-kdz-flashables-t3282012
Autoprime was nice enough to pack it into 3 seperate flashable zips. Follow those instructions TO THE LETTER.
IF you can't get into TWRP for whatever reason google "D855 6.0 marshmallow official update" and find something that shows you how to do it with the official flash tool supplied by LG. Can't link it cos im not sure if im allowed to link to outside websites here.
GL
not only did i use backups i een tried to install a new rom. nothing worked. thats why i was trying to get a tutorial on what to do from here.
